621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin Require Regulations? on: May 30, 2014, 12:18:02 PM
"Absolutely not! Those making this argument totally misunderstand the way that Bitcoin adoption will proceed and are consequently wrong-headed about how to market it."

622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Regulations: Lessons From Skype article is a must read on: May 27, 2014, 04:51:25 PM

Anarchists and Libertarians love Bitcoin because it restricts institutional corruption.  Yet they push an ideology that involves "no ruleRs" (freedom) for the general public.

Any theory about a July rally because of the 234 days goes out the door. No longer valid.

So?

I mostly lurk, rarely post, but as someone who has been involved in the KYC compliance changes for one of the worlds largest financial institutions, I'd just like to say this:

This is quite literally textbook FinCEN foundation, and I would actually take this to be a good sign. It means that Stamp is taking the necessary steps (including a fair bit of 'catch-up') to be in compliance with US money laundering regulations that would place it on the same level of credibility as an international bank. Personally, while it might be a bit of a chore at the outset, I consider this a very good sign long-term.

Great first post.

Of course there's no shortage of conspiracy theorists here claiming every big move to be a manipulation e.g. many here would swear PBOC used FUD to drive the price down to buy in but that's another matter!

I hear it's the ICIC who are to blame, rather than PBOC . /tinfoil

What multiple more might give a clue as to how ahead of ourselves we are at the moment.

Going by SSs model, we are somewhat behind ourselves at the moment. Interesting times we live in.

People had very good arguments in decemeber why it would go down more so I wanted to see if anyone had the opposite argument for why it might go up.

Have you seen this?

I am rather sceptical about this. Not because it's a bad model overall, but because I suspect the amount of fiat coming in does not correlate well to adoption. Namely, over-represented speculators must have vastly over-pumped the market, so it's hard to tell where we 'should' be at this point.

I'd be interested in seeing a better model, if there is one.

Does anyone think that now is a good idea to buy? Ive waited for a few months like I was told and now this has reverse?

The worst someone can do here is tell others to buy and sell. That is up to you.

I think this too but the advice of many others months ago has saved me loosing 50% of what I have to invest. I make my own decisions still but there are others who know better. I don't listen to newbies for a start Smiley

KFR said it all earlier.

Is anyone else noticing that we are like sitting right snug below the bear triangle line? we go up $2 and we are on top of the line... breakout imminent if we just go sideways like we have been doing... is it finally time?

Depending which chart you use, we are over the trend from March 13th.

For me, it's a tie between mah-somenumber and pedestrian. But yeah, less than a day in any case.

Other accounts, like pumpkinhead guy, are trickier: lots of trolling, but the occasional insightful comment, so I really tried to keep him off the list. But I failed ultimately. Forgive me, oh Lord!

I ignored two of those in your list on their first posts - I guess I got it right  Grin

Bring back the shit stained ignore button!!

The flow of bullish news is run out of steam and it seems as if the painful 3 week consolidation is finally over hopefully and we can resume trading.

Bitpay to da moon.
