621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Like Website Ran Away With Customers Money on: March 21, 2015, 03:35:09 PM
At least it was something that endorsed illegal goods. Majority - if not all - of the traders on Evo kinda deserved it for trading drugs and what not.
However, we're fucked - http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2zrdxz/withdrawals_halted_as_stolen_evolution_coins_make/

Coins may be dumped^.
622  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Some of you programmers should create a Bitcoin simulation. on: March 21, 2015, 03:21:32 PM
Should it mimic bitcoin exactly? Such as with confirmation times, current mining difficulty and such? It's possible. Post around in the project development section. It will definitely happen.

An educational App should be released to aid with the use of bitcoin. It should be something like a small virtual ecosystem comprising of pools, exchanges and maybe even faucets.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you learn about Bitcoin? on: March 21, 2015, 03:18:07 PM
I was doing my usual rounds on YouTube - Watching PewDiePie, =3, Ryan Higa and some episodes of Kids React. On one of my suggested videos, I found something about Tor.
It looked interesting so I obviously watched it. Along my list of suggested videos I found lot's of things about recent hacks, fed attacks and so forth. I saw a video about bitcoin and it said something about leaving your computer to run in order to make money(mining). After that, I heard about exchanges and used some of my PayPal balance. Now I just sit here and browse.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any bitcoin-turned-millionaires here? on: March 21, 2015, 11:53:14 AM
We're all millionaire's...in 50 years time. Bitcoin maybe not be a lot now, but once you cash our later it's going to be worth a lot.

626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google ‘experts’ to screen Play apps and updates... Dangerous for Bitcoin apps?? on: March 20, 2015, 03:37:32 PM
Unless the App is used for adware or it's made to spam users with faucet referral links or any other malicious purpose, I don't see Google having any problems with bitcoin related Apps. As said above they treat it like an actually currency. I was reading up on these articles some time ago, by the looks of it, we may be able to pay for our Apps with bitcoin soon - hopefully.

“We are working in the payments team to figure out how to incorporate bitcoin into our plans,” wrote Google Senior VP of Ads and Commerce Sridhar Ramaswamy at one point in the email exchange that Malik forwarded to me. He promised to get back in touch “when we are a little more sure.”

Bitcoin seems to be a growing part of Google.I hope Google and Square are eager to release this as I am to use and see it. I'm sure you've heard of Square taking bitcoin into consideration and actually integrating bitcoin in 2014.

Google and Square announced Thursday that they were working on new payment systems that would be able to accept Bitcoin. The move is expected to heat things up in the payments market in general, and with Apple Pay, in particular. Google is currently testing the new payment processing method that will be known as Plaso while Square is working on the hardware terminals.
627  Other / New forum software / Re: Screenshots from epochtalk on: March 19, 2015, 04:19:45 PM
I'm really happy that the new forum is coming out very soon. I really don't like the theme(sorry to be fussy). Please tell me there's a way to revert back to this current '09 theme with all the new added features included.
628  Other / New forum software / Re: New rank? on: March 19, 2015, 04:11:43 PM
The current highest rank here is Legendary with 775-1030 activity points to achieve. Perhaps we can have a higher rank at like 1300-1400 points? Like 'History Maker' or 'Part of Bitcoin History' etc.?
It's just a suggestion. You can take or not take it.

For what would another Rank be needed for? I don't see any other perks that a higher ranked member can obtain other than receiving rights to change their names or letting have their own custom title.

If a another is to be added, I say "Satoshi's Best Friend" should be added if the activity is around 2000.
629  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Evolution has run off with all user's funds on: March 19, 2015, 03:49:33 PM
Did they dump some stolen bitcoin ?
Bitcoin price dropping about 15% after this news released Sad

Most likely to be a dump from the stolen coins, I can imagine that they would try to get rid of the coins as soon as possible.

How many Bitcoin exactly did evolution stolen? Some say 400 Bitcoin while coindesk says $12 Million in Bitcoin? What's the truth?

CoinDesk is known for exaggerating. Read around on reddit and determine your mean.
630  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who likes saving up to 35% on Amazon? I DO! on: March 19, 2015, 03:27:09 PM
But, for new user. They just give abut 8% discount
And some people said their Customer Service is awful Sad

More info : http://www.coindesk.com/review-is-the-purse-discount-really-worth-the-hassle/

Actually, this restriction has been lifted a few weeks ago. You can now spend bitcoin on Amazon with a discount of 50% !
The fees are pretty staggering especially if you're ordering with a large discount and shipping to countries who are not applicable for Free Shipping.

All in all you're getting your 50% discount on the Item you want that's excluding the fees. With the fees you'll probably get round about 20%-25% off.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Core i7's and Blockchains together, now you know you in trouble! on: March 19, 2015, 03:09:53 PM
I can see this being apparant in majority of our machines that we use everyday. However, what if greed takes it's place and let's intel start to realize that can actually be using their own coin? It's something that could happen. The chances are relatively low.

On another note, what if intel starts making cores that could temporarily be mining profitable with it's great gaming capabilities included?
632  Other / Meta / Re: Request to restrict newbies to post in Marketplace on: March 19, 2015, 03:03:47 PM
I still like the old idea of newbie jail. It doesn't take long to rank up to at least a junior member. It's like a forum tradition to me.
However, this can lead to newbies scamming newbies and newbies complaining about being treated unfairly(which it kinda is).
The red feedback on my account from Kouye was actually given to me when I was a low rank member, I wouldn't say it stops users from receiving negative trust, but it might have some impact on reducing it.

I actually have a mixed opinion about newbie jail to think about it. It actually holds back a lot of discussion and honest opinions about their topics that they have on mind.
This could also prevent businesses from getting out there.

634  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling steam account [very good games] small price! on: March 19, 2015, 02:21:25 PM
It's not good to post your Steam ID as your account might get banned by Steam if someone reports you.

Yeah this is true. Try not to show anything that can be shown to be your account. If they find out you sold it, its possible that they could ban your account perm. Also, I do suggest that if you do sell it, use Crackedlogic as a escrow. I've have dealt with him before and deem him trustworthy. But its your decision. GL on selling your games.

Thank you for the recommendation, I appreciate it. If you do need somebody to help you out with escrow typhoon, don't hesitate to contact me.
635  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Couriers that accept bitcoin? on: March 19, 2015, 02:12:46 PM
Still no update from the card, no tracking number or anything yet, Ill contact them if I don't get an update in a week, maybe I just got the online card version??? I'm excited to try this out

Have you received something?

In about 2 days time I think I'll need to ship something out to my Friends in Canada, Are there any couriers that directly accept or bitcoin? Or even if it's included with their embedded with their payment system,I'll take it.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can buy Bitcoin in Austria at nearly every corner on: March 19, 2015, 02:08:35 PM
Nice news ! Hope this will spread quickly and be world wide!
We need idea and concepts like this brought into other smaller countries to boost the adoption of bitcoin. Smaller countries would adapt to it much faster than larger countries.

South Africa could do with something like this.
Yeah like you said in smaller countries it will adapt quickly than larger countries !
In my 'small country', there are very few merchants who accept bitcoin. There are traders though of course but are still too little in numbers. To be honest, I think I'm pretty much one of the hundreds of people who use bitcoin or at least know about it here. Would sure wish this changes soon...

We could propose Bitcoin ATMs to be included with Regular ATMs at large/major shopping malls as well. We could create a small ecosystem using Bitcoin. With local stores we can talk to the manager/proprietor to start thinking about introducing Bitcoin to it's customers.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Threat to Bitcoin? Facebook Rolls Out P2P Payments on Messenger on: March 19, 2015, 02:04:54 PM
Not really a threat at all , Samsung Pay / Apple Pay or any other service can't match the power of Bitcoins and the security !
maybe in the future they will accept bitcoin but for the moment I don't think that.

With Bitcoin accepted Apps being allowed back into the store, I have a feeling that Apple Pay may have Bitcoin integrated into Apple Pay. If Apple integrates bitcoin, I can see Samsung tagging along. Roll Eyes
638  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Best Bitcoin Related Mobile Apps? on: March 19, 2015, 02:03:15 PM
Of course that top bitcoin related mobile app would be wallets. That is no secret at all. Apps like: Blockchain – Bitcoin Wallet, Xapo – Bitcoin Wallet & Vault,
Coinbase – Bitcoin Wallet are among the most popular bitcoin apps. But if you are looking something different bitcoin related check out this Bitcoin game:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bitcoin-billionaire/id911117141

Yes, was just about to post this!

Bitcoin Billionaire FTW!

Here's the Android version:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noodlecake.bitcoin

I have downloaded this game like at the beginning of this year. It has got me highly attached to my phone. There are a lot of references to the Forum actually.
If you are able to Unlock the "Dog" as for your Room's environment,Your avatar makes a Reference to CanaryInTheMine. I can't remember what the statement was but I remember the last few words, being "Take that Canaries!". I am almost finished the game. I am close to finishing all the challenges. I just need to buy a few more Time Machines. It's a very decent and addicting game. I suggest you play it.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Threat to Bitcoin? Facebook Rolls Out P2P Payments on Messenger on: March 19, 2015, 01:36:05 PM
Snapchat has also integrated this.

the L.A.-based company announced that you could now send money to anyone on your contact list through its infamous app. Though the feature, named Snapcash, is slightly weird for a product that has made its name on disappearing content, it could be a helpful time-saver for power users.

It's definitely not a threat to bitcoin. Bitcoin won't be affected by this at All IMHO. However, if they were able to integrate bitcoin and fiat payments I can see bitcoin exploding very quickly as of addicted facebook users take a step into bitcoin.
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Victims of Mt Gox Incident Where Are They Now on: March 19, 2015, 01:27:59 PM
With the vast numbers of Bitcointalk forum members, is there anyone here who was one of the users of Mt Gox when they went down?

The Mt Gox incident remains to be the biggest 'scam' to date.

I read some stories about it, and I think it has become a popular story to tell for Bitcoiners all over the world.

Anyone here?

A lot of bitcoin was "lost" . I removed most my coins from the exchange about 3 months before it went down. Take a look at these following links:
