621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anthropologist needed on: February 28, 2012, 11:36:09 AM
Ok my aproach was more of a social/cultural anthropolgist but perhaps the sociologist would make it! :-) thow J still believe in shalow markets, full of newbies in stock exchanges and investment, and were any regular sale moves the needle, a human behaviour aproach is perhaps more adecuate than regular graph analisis. Every time you start a thread about, THIS IS THE ULTIMATE ANALISYS METHOD, 2 days after, the method fails to predict the market reaction.

A sociologist studying the risk aversion, atitudes, opinion leaders, etc might find a better approach!
622  Economy / Speculation / Anthropologist needed on: February 27, 2012, 08:36:14 AM
Every one speculates based on intuition, charts, trends and so, but it looks to me that in such a small and shallow market decisions could be better done using a human behaviour point of view! I tend to read all the charts and do my analisis but at last things tend to move just as I believe people would react given X situations... Perhaps more Anthropologists would be helpfull on this section ;-)
623  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: TradeHill - shutting down trading / deposits and returning all client funds on: February 16, 2012, 10:56:28 AM
I've been doing almost all my transactions over TH. I has been always an excelent experience. I've been talking to Adam personally and know the SEVERAL other problems that had been aking TH during the past months and that you never passed them along but they limited your chances to grow and evolve beyond your own personal unpaid time and efforts.

I know about your bitcoin.com's proyect, intresting things and people are crumbling up. As I told you once, Bitcoin.com is not a site it is a RESPONSABILITY (I know MUCH about this specific "responsability", believe me) and given I know you, and this thread has had only 2 "TH negative like" posts over 80 posts, I think we all trust you and that you have been doing the things right.

Bitcoin.com is yours but let everyone feel part of it! Many people in here are specialists in some areas, and many here have time and funds to provide. Bitcoins is huge if we make it huge and bitcoin.com must be relevant to this revolution.

So I call every holder of small amounts on TH to donate to your/our cause. Me my self I will donate $100 from my balance and 100BTC and every specialist willing to help bitcoin to donate his time.

Good luck again.

627  Local / Español (Spanish) / Qué pasará si... on: February 10, 2012, 11:21:25 AM

Hola a todos, he vuelto a Buenos Aires.

636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at Starbucks (or anywhere) on: January 16, 2012, 05:55:38 AM
Actually, what we need is for someone like Paxum, bit-pay or even mtgox itself to make the process of conversion transparent, on demand and instantaneous.

For example, say I have 342.45 BTC in my mtgox account and I'm at Starbucks. I swipe my mtgox debit card, pay $24 USD (or whatever the bastards are charging for coffee these days) and it gets debited from my mtgox BTC account.

Replace mtgox with Paxum, who already have a MasterCard system in place, or bit-pay, who are the best at making things happen, and suddenly we can start living our lives in BTC instead of dollars, euros or pesos.

Bit-pay presented such a service at CES, you pay in BTC and they get credited in cash at their account!

638  Economy / Economics / Where or how are big sales and buys conducted? on: January 13, 2012, 02:44:00 AM
Sorry for this silly question but if I would like to sell and or buy short between 3000 BTC or USD equivalents, is TH and MTgox the only/best way? Is there a way to go for big numbers not disrupting the price given the small depth of one or the other? Or if done over exchanges, this buy/sell outs might become trendesetters?
639  Economy / Economics / Re: Arbitrage between trades? on: January 11, 2012, 11:46:03 AM
So you would confirm that making a big buy in TH exchange would rise the price in the MTgox giving the Bid in TH will soon be higher than the ask of MT but then the bot will pay the ask in MT and sell at the higher bid price in TH resulting on a clearer upward trend than the one doable with the same cash amount in MT. Of course the amount to buy at a lower ask price in MT might be enough as to lower inmediately the price in TH. But when would this kind of strategy be usefull?
640  Economy / Economics / Arbitrage between trades? on: January 11, 2012, 09:52:27 AM
Perhaps its obvious but I guess there are several bots doing arbitrage between mtgox and tradehill, if so shoudn't be tradehill leading the price fluctuations because of the smaller market? Meaning that buying 100 btc in TH rises the price higher that in Mtgox.

Ok i guess i'm wrong, please clarify. I'm asking this because I think that if someone would want to represent in a buying strategy an upward trend, he might try it on the smaller market right?
