15 sept 2017 Magi will become 3 years old.
If all tests are finished (they are looking good at this moment) it might be a good date to launch the improvements & ask the exchanges for update the wallets and continue with the futute of Magi.
Its just an idea. Reminder even BTC start growing bigger after 3 years!

i read through Magi OP summary and it sounds good to me. with segwit, new wallet and magipay gateway coming soon, I am going to buy some magi coins and hold for good profits

Glad you've got interested into buying Magi, mate. Believe me, it will be the best investment you'll ever make as the coin has managed to rise in value over the course of time. With its friendly community and active development, it will survive for many years to come.

The latest improvements for Magi, will make it more robust and popular towards helping it soar all the way to the moon. In addition, Magi is ASIC resistant, making it easy for anyone with an average PC or low powered device, to start mining some coins. I've been mining XMG within my smartphone for a couple of days and have obtained quick results unlike many altcoins out there.

Nevertheless, if you take the time to research more about the Magi project and make the right decision with your investment, you may become successful with this exciting cryptocurrency for many years to come. Wink
Thanks Abiky. Good words. The power of the community and active team will give a great future.
All thanks for the ideas & feedback.
Magi appriciate it a lot.

I guess every coin should have something more than only algoritm,  what really magi coin does?  I read about magi pay, is this works?   Where can I pay by magi coin?
Before coin have no real value - it is not a coin and just an air.
I hope devs will do more in real life with this coin after fix fork issue.
That's why we have magipay (it works at this point), and I was pursuing all along, however things came out upon limits when the coin relies on few people. I wish we have a community-surrounded involvements in creating various services / developments which will absolutely lead to more technical stuffs than just the team.
Magi will work on more services after all this is behind us.

It would be gerat if devs define terms what they need to bring transfers back to life, at least like some weeks(s) or month(s).
Not talking about precise ETA but some info/updates would be appreciated.
Understand what you mean. At this moment the first tests are looking good. But before bringing Magi 100% back its must be for sure that the fix is perfect. Magi learned from a fast fix and will not make that mistake again.
Magi dev is doing what he can and needs to have faith in the fix so it will not happen again.
It will not take months thats for sure!

Hello everyone,

I have been mining magi since 2 months till I stopped about the time the problems happened.

After that I came to this post and realized i was just killing the network.

I was new to mining and XMG was the first coin that came up when I googled CPU mine able coins.

I have access to about 60 I7 machines and 6 16 core Xeon servers and I was mining at them 24 / 7 (we don't have electricity bills in the country I am in).

I made about 5500 XMG in one month and in the fork problems I also lost a lot of coins.

I had no idea that putting in more PCs will simply reduce the reward as I was too lazy to come here and read first.

Now I have just put 10 PCs for XMG (2 hours a day) and remaining are mining VRM (6 hours a day) only.

Sorry people.

We appreciate the apology.
Thanks for your post huz_akh Good thing you posted this here. Welcome in our strong & friendly Magi community.
Speedyb also welcome & pls read the OP. (Post 1)

cryptopia xmg market closing! does the cryptopia's xmg market work in the future? on bittrex xmg wallet still offline.
No worries about Bittrex. Magi team has good contact with Bittrex and they will wait until dev gives green light for new releases!
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: September 01, 2017, 11:13:47 PM
In that case, I can tell you magi team is not god, they listen more then you think to all of the community members. They are not trying to "fix magi features". At this point all the team is putting it's efforts into is fixing the problem that made the chain fork. No more No less.
I talk about pool owners, not devs.
Thanks for your opinion. Indeed Magi team is following the thread very good. Personal i read all posts. At this moment more than 900 pages with posts.
We learn a lot from all feedback.
Just a reminder Magi team started without big fund an is not looking for own greed. Simple we like the Magi concept are willing to put a lot of energie & free time in building a great future for Magi.
And we will continue doing that.

This is a respond to everyone regarding the TrasMaMod XMG pool.

I have seen some comments and respond to our pool TrasMaMod XMG pool, and I would like to give a short reply to all:

1)
If there is any complaints or questions it is important to immediately take contact with us through the contact page on our pool. Or send us an email directly on pool@trasmamod.com. We take all feedback seriously and look into the situation and try to find out reason behind eventually problem and then how to solve.

2)
For time being we are only connected to one peer (node) that is the master node (dev). And we are also regularly several times a day checking the status of the pools wallet.
We have also been one of the pools that first stop all stratum (mining) in the past when there was fork issues. This is to ensure as quick as possible that no one is mining to wrong chain. Therefor we are actively watching the situation and trying to avoid that someone loose XMG. And when we are only connected to the master node (dev) we are also more sure that we keep away from fork.

3)
We have decided to have a restriction with maximum 300KH/s per user on our pool. This is to ensure that there is a much more fair coin sharing in our pool when the pool find a block. We would like to avoid that some with huge hash take "everything". Therefore with a limit it will give much more fair sharing of the mined coins in our pool. We don't do this for fun. Not either acting as god. But as simple as to give a fair coin distribution between pool members. And at the same time give a help to the global hash to be more at normal level. Remember that very high hash gives low payback.

IMPORTANT: if you don't want this restriction, then TrasMaMod is not the pool for you.

Awesome TrasMaMod. Sure Magi did not like the issues last weeks. But we all see that bad things also things good things. Thats why i believe when all things are behind us Magi will continue to grow much stronger than before. Thank you for supporting Magi & the whole idea of Magi with your relpy on number 3!!

i feel sad XMG is not attractive to mine anymore, its giving me 0.00xx coin per block

cpu mining on monero give much better return

sad Sad

Almost there, only some little pieces Magi need to fix.

Great picture Goldlabel & indeed will not take long before everything is running smooth again!

If people send in a support add that remark also.
Thanks in advance
I've sent a very friendly support request - I'm keeping my coins on 'topia for now =)
Thanks Starmman, well done!
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: August 31, 2017, 11:39:31 AM
Cryptopia is Delisting Magi Coin. This is the error when i check the wallet:

Magi(XMG) Address Error!

Unable to generate address for XMG, Reason: Delisting
If problems persist please contact Cryptopia Support.

Hmm, should get my coints out then! F**k
Don't try to withdraw with that comment.
We try to contact Cryptopia to keep wallets in maintenance until the coming release/update.

If people send in a support add that remark also.
Thanks in advance
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: August 31, 2017, 06:32:11 AM
- when blockchain fix and returning to normal transferring/trading is expected?

No ETA yet, but will try to update asap.

- is there any risk to lose my XMG if I have stable functioning wallet (which works fine for me with downloaded blockchain)?

No.

I'm mining and keeping my Magis on pools right now to avoid any unexpected loses.

I suggest keep coins in your wallet. Backup wallet.dat. Before transfer (receive / send), make sure you're on the right track:

Checkout the following for info of best chain:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/
http://178.17.174.27:8280/m-chain
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg21365060#msg21365060

As some people mentioned above, delisting from Cryptopia doesn't look good so what's coming in nearby future?

I've contacted them. Let's see what they gonna say. I wouldn't agree if they simply delist because of the forks and no clear reasons. I'll fully understand if the fork gets lots of maintenance efforts; either way there should be a response to the consequence from them. Other than that, I'm keeping in touch with Bittrex so far in a controllable shape.

Good work Joe. During this period its normal people are unsure about what will happen with their XMG.
That fully understood. Our community members who are following the Magi thread long enough know Magi team will always deliver. (More than 900 pages without fud)
But the crypto-world can be hard & there is a lot of competition. There will be always people who will try to help a currency down. Our community is to strong for that to happen.
Just continue with the improvements & Magi will be able to handle everything after this is all behind us!

Anoteher user account @deztroyr1 on POM pool (http://pom.m-hash.com) has been warned many times to lower hash rate on pool.
After some hours, and no reply from user, and according pool rules, I'm going to delete user workers.

Good work Historical! 🖒

Please help..
My magi wallet is not syncing, no matter how many times I deleted and resynced the entire blockchain. Last block is 4 days ago.
Updates are in progress. Looks like testing is almost finished.

Wow whats happening here. Again need to read 3 pages of posts.
Joe last post was for testing right?

Yes, Joe last post was about testing
Thanks ex33s.
Z0n0 bittrex will wait until all things are clear & Magi is running smoothly. Its will not be good for Magi if we ask them to update the wallet again & again. So we will wait with that.

Ok, I'm giving up. I wish you all happy mining and a lot of XMG. Smiley
Sure this episode in the magi saga will be ended soon. =)
Yes and than Magi is going to a much better episode!
Magi will continue working on improvements and build on a great future. Every currency had his periods with issues.
Most important is how the currency solve the issue.
Sometimes it takes more time to find a good solution for difficult issue. I have faith in Joe.
He can do magic things. Mark my words!
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: August 26, 2017, 09:35:52 PM
Magi is aware of this and its an item on the Magi Roadmap. Big miners will look for fast profit. If the unique blockreward system drops the rewards it will not give them enough profit & they will move to other coins.
The idea of Magi is to be more fair than other currencies like btc or others. Everybody in the world can mine Magi with a simple computer. So everybody can earn some XMG. In the world a $ gives different value. For somebody its not much and for others its a lot. With other currencies you need money to get more money. So if you have a huge miningfarm you can collect more money with mining btc. The rich get richer.
Sure Magi will need more improvements in the future but remember Magi team is not huge & it will take time to find the end point were all things will be as Magi likes it to be.

Personal i'am with Magi from the start. I'am not looking for fast money (gave more than 100k XMG away with campaigns & give-aways) but i like the whole idea about Magi.
If Magi can achieve this goal than whole world will look at this unique decentralized currency.
Everybody who liked the help with this feel welcome!

Regards
111magic

Just reading 4 pages of posts i missed.
Thought of a post i added here some pages back.
Changing mindsets of people is not an easy goal to achieve. But Magi will continue as it did the last almost 3 years. In time Magi saw the community grow & more people like and appriciate the concept of the Coin of the Magi. During these years Magi is to strong to give up and will continue with achieving the goals.

💪

...
I would like an answer from the Magi team, because on their site I found THIS, and I read it before I started mining almost 3 months ago. It was the breaking point to even start mining with my CPUs.
Quote
Magi is at the first concentrating on the low cost in maintaining its block system, for example, through cost effective mining devices. To this end, Magi, aiming at fairness, cost effective and energy efficiency, strives to make mining be available to everyone, and provides an even playing field for people looking to issue digital coins without expensive equipment.
So, is it still valid? If yes, why do you don't deal with people like this person above? If no, then it was a nice ride with you guys and girls, but I'm out, because that's everything but not fairness, cost effective and energy efficiency.

IMO, it is as one can look at the total network hashrate here versus elsewhere. We're there that not much hash power is put to run the coin, and one can mine MAGI using devices such as CPU. However, I won't put a 100% random affirmative as the situation you asked, which has been talked, and that's why there comes one of the to-do-list: A scheduled hard fork targeting at improving PoW.

Realistically, though, there always comes the situation where people access to huge resources over the remaining parties. And this is almost the consequence when mining opens to the world. It's not about hard rule to rule out these people, but more or less requires some other solutions. Speaking of fairness, it is very much relative and depends, as we can judge that coins divided among different hands equally as being fair; however, it isn't unfair when one investing twice of efforts gets twice of rewards, despite how he acquires investments free or non-free. How can we judge the situation that one puts tens, thousands of efforts? malafaya's example depicts a scene, that 10 XMG sharing among 2Mh/s, versus 1 XMG dominated by 20Mh/s. Overall speaking of the history of mining in years, I do see a tendency that coins go into more hands than few hands, which is towards fairness by a crypto language.
Well said Joe. Hope people will take time to read your posts. So thats my request to our community; pls read the posts made by our dev. If its hard to find them for you between lots of other posts click on Joe's profile and you will find the option: lasts posts made by this profile.
Thanks all.
