621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 04, 2024, 05:43:34 PM
One of his friends asked him why he kept betting instead of saving so he would have something when he needed it.

His answer was straightforward, I am betting so when I win I can share half of my winnings with my friends and relatives who need money like you.
I think he's smart enough to see gambling as a way to multiply his pension pay that wouldn't have been sufficient to go round if he's to be generous directly with it. However, it is pertinent to say this, it may not work out favourably to every person.

How about you? Are you generous and if so, why are you generous?
Just like you said, he is a pensioner with already grown up children which means those his children have reach the age of taking care of their responsibility and challenges otherwise he won't be using such money to such a generous extension to outsiders even though it was gotten from a gambling win.

Am a generous person by nature but in being generous there a thin line of rationality that should guide your generosity. Don't go being generous with money you need to pay house rent or water bill when it's already due, that will be foolish and unrecommended to me.

Abeg make we try dey careful with who we dey trade BTC with, dey careful with who you dey sell am to especially when the person dey transfer money come your account, most especially the binance p2p just pray say the person no dey pay you with stolen naira (money laundering). EFCC No go gree for you oh. You go explain tire.. Na so last December my friend fall victim. Na one of the downside of lifting this crypto ban by Nigerian government.
This is mainly some of the downsides am avoiding that makes me not to do p2p trading with any trader who is asking to pay with a different name from the name he registered with on the exchange platform. Immediately I see that in your conditions of making payment third party name is involved as the payer I will immediately ignore and move to the next serious trader in the queue.

We know the kind country we come from and how certain things wey even clearly they right for police eyes them go still want run man black just to get money from the matter. Prevention to me is better than cure, so instead of me to come the do plenty explanations make I dey proactive with avoiding stories that touch.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: February 04, 2024, 05:01:29 PM
A situation where the stake for the bet he won was $1k, the next statement you hear is how wish I knew I would have staked with $5k. The question is, the $5k is it an amount of money that you can be comfortable losing or it's just out of greed that you are not contented with the win amount the $1k gave you.
It is only greed that will make someone to play game with $1k and after wining he started thinking is why he didn't play with $5k. The truth is that when people win they think why they didn't play with a higher amount but when dey loose they become excited and happy because they didn't play the game according to how they wanted , otherwise they could have loss. But I sudjest wether you win big or small there is a need to always maintain playing gamble with what you can afford to lose.
Greed is an enemy to any profit seeker in any line of business and not just in gambling alone do gamblers experience greed emanating in their gambling decisions which is logical to say that any gambler that has been able to control or conquer his greed and feel contented with every amount of win he makes from his bet such a dude has invariably conquered his losing streaks rate. Luck to repeat a win instantly after another win has just been gotten is very hard to happen to a gambler but as greed sets in the mind of the gambler all reality to be considered that he can lose it all get submerged by that greed not until all is lost.
624  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: February 04, 2024, 04:59:54 AM

So as much as the days progresses and the managers of the altcointalk perceives the increased in traffic they have recently started receiving as those ban services have now found their way to altcoinstalk thereby attracting bitcointalk members who before now had no interest there teleporting their accounts there now. With this it shouldn't be a thing of surprise if we start observing certain little changes in the teleport process as the days go by and their traffic keeps growing from different angles.

The admin of Altcoinstalk, based on their rules, does not want any drama or anything of the sort. Therefore, I wonder if those members who caused a lot of drama here will be interested in transitioning over there. They might find themselves being constrained and restricted. It's a different platform for them, not their usual playground.
Can you please come out plainly with what you really referring to as the drama's because from what I have seen about those members teleporting over to the altcoinstalk forum these are members that have made respectful name and repute here in bitcointalk and am sure the admin of  altcointalk will be more than glad to have such members in their community to improve discussions.

Maybe I don't know, but I guess the drama you could be referring about is that of the banters and small exchange of talks between contradictory members that may have issues and decides to iron it out mostly in the reputation board, then mate you might be missing on the real deal because it's some of those kind of dramas that makes the forum colourful and lively.

Or except you are talking about something else I don't know. Huh
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you invest on this kind of offer? on: February 03, 2024, 12:08:58 PM
Wait! Did I understand the op very well. Like he wants me or us to risk our own funds for his gambling activity while he safe keep his own coins in a safe air gap wallet or timelock, and on top of thia bullshit I won't get an interest added to my fund am giving out to him inform of a loan just because he promised to pay back even if he gets to lose it as he gambles with it. Wow! Roll Eyes And you refer to this as an offer? Hell no, I won't consider it any day.

No matter how you want to explain this it's no different from borrowing money to gamble which is something I abhor with all sincerity you are going to be making a debt-roll and not a bankroll because gambling risk  has nothing to do with professional skill if you're not so lucky in getting a win.

It's a good news for Manchester City fans as Erling Haaland is fit, ready and fully back to the team, and according to coach Gardiola it is not just Haaland but also Akanji  and everyone in the City's team is fit for the games ahead. On Monday Manchester City will be meeting Brentford in their home and with the confident level of Gardiola about his boys I can only start to imagine what the scores will be like against Brentford who are an average team to City with a very low percentage in terms of finding a win in their favour come next week Monday 05/02/2024.

On the other hand Liverpool a strong opposition to Manchester City in the race for the EPL title this season who happens to be at the top of the table currently are facing a bad time with some of their best player suffering some minor injuries that may make them miss a number of one or more games especially their next game against Arsenal this weekend Nunez and Sallah are rumored to be absent due to injuries.  What does this make for their main opposition Manchester City should Liverpool lose to Arsenal in their next game and drop points owing to the absence of their key players to injury.
This is really going to be a tough match between Arsenal and Liverpool as they take on reach other in a clash that will define the edge to the tittle race.Liverpool are ahead of Arsenal now,and even if they should lose to Arsenal, they will still be leading the gunners, but one thing is that it might hamper their moral moving forward,as their moral will be dwindled by the lose.In the other hand,Arsenal really need this win against Liverpool to keep them alive in the tittle race should incase Liverpool and Mancity fumbles.
If Liverpool should be able to defend Arsenal to a draw,or they should be able to win Arsenal, then I can give them the tittle for this season.
Based on how you have analysed about Liverpool should they be able to win Arsenal this weekend then they could have better chance of winning the EPL title. I think I should remind you that the EPL season has 38 matches to be played by each team, and almost all the teams including Arsenal and Liverpool had played 22 games already whereas Manchester City has played just 21 games which mean they have 1 outstanding match (outstanding 3 points).

Liverpool are currently with 51 points while their major rival Manchester City who are in second position on the table are with 46 points so invariably with City's outstanding match Liverpool are just 2 points ahead of Manchester City (and not actually 5 points) which is not much of a points distance that someone should settle on to confidently handover the EPL title to Liverpool when about 16 games are yet to be played.

Knowing fully the capacity and ability of Manchester City under Pep Gardiola to  been capable of overtaking their opponents in the league with any slight opportunity that may arise to their advantage, for now I won't agree that Liverpool will be winning the EPL title this season because for me the title race is still open for any of the current top four teams (Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham)  currently on the table as the points margin are not significantly much. Let just keep watch with an open mind for now as there are still more games to be played till the month of May.
627  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The 4W every newbie should know, so as to navigate your way easily on: February 03, 2024, 08:16:39 AM
My country people good morning inside this morning, I know say most of us already know this tins but newbie dy sign up for this our naija local board on a daily basis, so I just have to update them how dem fit do things in the crypto industry without troubles.

The 4W of Bitcoin is;
*What
*Why
*When
*Where

* what : In the crypto space, what do you buy? What do you invest in? The only coin to buy and invest in is Bitcoin.

* Why: why you should have a source of income, it's very important that you have a source of income, so that when issue like feeding and rent is at your neck you would not go and temper with your Bitcoin holdings.

* When: when to buy; there is no better time of buying Bitcoin than now, see, we are still in it early days, and the best way to buy is through the DCA method, where you buy it bit by bit, monthly, weekly or daily.

*where:where should it be kept? It's best that we keep it in a self custodian wallet, where the safety of your coin will be in your hands, and the secret phase stored offline.
I agree with you that the bitcoin is one only reliable coin to invest in come rain come shine with all the market intricacies you will be rest assured that with each fall in price there will be a lifting up with time and that's why I tell many people newbie particularly to always make their investment plan in bitcoin a long term plan of about 2-4 years upwards because those that usually get disappointed are those investors that jump in with a very short time plan in mind to take profit which obviously that's not how bitcoin works unlike those rug pull fast pump and dump altcoins out there in the crypto market.

Having a reliable and steady income flow no matter how little the amount is very important to the success of a long term plan of any bitcoin investor. Which is why nobody should joke with whatever means they are using to get income either monthly or weekly as the case may be. I have seen a post in this forum with the poster inquiring if he/she should quit his job because he/she has started investing in bitcoin and had made some profits. That's wrong a thing to do. Like how do you keep increasing your portfolio if you don't have another source of income and how do you manage your responsibility in a long bear market period when you're not making profits. So it's important to have a means of income even as we invest in bitcoin.

Definitely there is no better time to buy bitcoin than now, and even as we invest we should endeavor to invest wisely and with a strategy. And what's most challenging in the ownership of bitcoin is the storage aspect, if you store your bitcoin in the wrong places you can end up losing it all either to scam or collapse in the case of CEX, that's why it's appropriate we store our coins in reputable non-custodial wallets. One of many wallet I usually recommend to newbies is the electrum wallet due to how simplified it is to use as per newbie friendly features that are easy to grasp.

What is Electrum?

I continue with my task of "spying" so to speak, from a distance, of the other forum and it has caught my attention that the last people asking to be teleported, at least some of them, say that they are not allowed to post external links, like Lida93 and Lucius.

Does anyone know if there has been a ban on this? I understand this refers to the requirement that the altcoinstalk admin asked to post a link in the profile here linking to the Altcoinstalk profile. I imagine it helps with SEO. However, he has teleported those members, so if links to Altcoinstalk are banned from here he is going to teleport people anyway.
Sometime before now I had took the privilege of chronicling through the different phases of the bitcointalk forum and something I noticed was that at different phases gradually changes were made and this changes at each phase were propelled by the increasing traffic the forum was/is getting, take the merit system that was introduced for instance.

So as much as the days progresses and the managers of the altcointalk perceives the increased in traffic they have recently started receiving as those ban services have now found their way to altcoinstalk thereby attracting bitcointalk members who before now had no interest there teleporting their accounts there now. 630  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The cost of federal university fees on: February 02, 2024, 10:09:19 AM
The expensive disposition of our education system doesn't equate the quality level of what we do pay for. I mean there is more of theoretical teachings and less of practicals and field exposition of students to their discipline option.

You see a political science students over the duration of study has never been opportune to attend a plenary meeting either at the state or national level to have a direct experience on how plenary meetings are held and laws made in the national and state house of assembly. Rather all what they are been taught are strictly within the classroom in paper.

And same applies to many other disciplines which is why you will have many university graduates in the society doing beautifully theoretically than they do practically in their area of specialization. And this is something the universities governing body should look into and restructure the school curriculum to meet current dynamics and academical trend and not just only focus on making the educational system expensive for an average citizen not to find ease sailing through financially.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 02, 2024, 09:37:09 AM
Isn't addiction the mother of all reckless losses in gambling?.
Decrease in overall productivity of individual: Addiction reduces the value that you add to wherever you are engaged career wise as you are mostly distracted with gambling thereby reducing your commitment and dedication to your duties, this might significantly reduce the overall company productivity and lead to job loss.
Addiction has a very strong distractive hold on its victims that they majority of the times involuntarily swing into actions and decisions that ordinarily they won't encourage themself into doing. It's for this reason that if I were to own a company today I won't employ a gambler into my group of employees as it can pose a threat to productivity scale and their gambling additive attitude can also contaminate the character of his colleagues at work to gamble just like him.

Yeah, am a gambler and am carefully not against anyone being a gambler but a couple of experience over the years informed my decision not to employ a gambler in any business enterprise or a company I am in charge.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 01, 2024, 05:46:42 PM
Just as we have expressed our concerns about certain gambling advertisements serving as potential triggers, I have observed and I think that there are gambling proverbs or quotes can also play a role in influencing individuals. Look at this Chinese proverb, "If you don’t gamble, you won’t know how lucky you are." From this proverb, it can spur a regular person to explore gambling as a means to test their luck and become hooked. Also, the person who has been gambling will want to continue gambling while being hopeful that someday they would eventually be lucky and hit the jackpot.
I doubt if it's only through gambling we can test how lucky we are in life, there are a surplus areas of life we can test our luck, it could be through an attempt to invent something, engage into a new line of business, applying for a job opportunity that other people might have applied and failed but you just could feel like still trying out your luck by also sending an application despite the much rejections on others. All of these is still risk taken only that they are in varied form.

So therefore, trying luck doesn't only apply to gambling alone, the only thing is that luck is predominant in gambling because it's an activity that it's results is mainly dependent on luck and not really on the individual's know-how. In trying your luck as a gambler we should be attentive to know when it's not our lucky day for us to quit and move to other things order than spending the whole time to keep trying luck that is not working in our favor.

This is very serious Grin, could it be that the guy's dead father was a gambler while he was alive that in all aspect to use in creating wealth for his son it is gambling he chose to use, and he didn't just appeared ones but twice in a dream to deliver the predictions  Grin

I have had many unbelievable stories about gambling and the part where gamblers has to visit some spiritual deity or make rituals to  influence their chances of making a big win from gambling is just one of many desperate acts  some gamblers can get to and for sure there are repercussions attached to all of these spiritual indulgence. Something I can't do with gambling is going spiritual about it am sure it's not worth it.
634  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: February 01, 2024, 10:53:50 AM
Quote
1. Club position: most times the position of a club matters a lot because it tells you whether a club is striving to top the table or whether they are striving to leave relegation zone.

2. Point: This is another strategy i use while betting because it also tells you whether a club can or will loss a match or not,  sometimes a club can be topping a league with 8 -10 point difference and because of this point difference they can decide to play anyhow they want better still reserve players for more important match because whether they loss or win they are still topping the league.
However, a club that has this point difference,  let say they are  expecting a champions league quarter or semi finals, it is very possible that they can loss or draw their league by reserving  players for the upcoming champions league.

3. Head to head: a club head to head (history)  is very important because sometimes it could be that the people topping the league always loss or draw with the people fighting to go out of relegation.  No matter how form the people topping the league is the possibility or chance of losing the match is 80% because of their history that's why sometimes you see a big club always losing to a small club.
These are mine strategies and there are some i can't remember for now, try this and thank me later.

Those three "strategies" cannot help me to predict the outcome of any football game.
Sometimes, a club that has several good games and wins makes a weak game and loses. Sometimes a club that is struggling at the bottom can make a great game against a club that is at the top of the current ranking. You can't predict such games by watching the club positions and the points difference between two clubs.
Your "head to head" theory doesn't work because I don't know about any big clubs that are "always losing" to small clubs. The opposite is way more common. I see small clubs "always losing" to big clubs all the time.
Anyway, what's your betting success ratio by applying your so called "betting strategies"?
There are certain factors in football that are not strategies at all but some gamblers misconceptualize them as football gambling strategy. Maybe at the time they made used of it it worked in their favour and due to that they caption it as a gambling strategy which can be use for every game. I am also curious to understand that head-to-head theory as to how it's common to have a weaker and average club will be having a win over a top form club in the league each time they meet.

Head-to-head can be deceiving as the current form and performance of a club today could have improved double times than how it were some seasons ago and for that reason clubs that beats them to a hands down years ago will literally not be able to do same today due to the improved changes that had taken effect in the club. Take Manchester City for example, clubs that beats them in matches more often going back a decade ago, today those clubs can't withstand the pressure from the same Manchester City they were beating years back. Which is why the head-to-head theory doesn't prove dependable for a gambling strategy to stand on in today's football.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VPN - Differences between countries where gambling is legal and not on: February 01, 2024, 09:37:56 AM
The use of VPN is for the protection of our identity keeping our identity anonymous and IP address to our desired location, some casinos frown at the use of VPN on their site while others accept the use of VPN, the difference is that using VPN from a country that gambling is ban to gamble in a casino that doesn't accept the use of VPN on their site you the gambler risk losing your account at anytime and be rest assured that losing the account is same as forfeiting every cash in the account since it violates the casino's ToS.

If you are a gambler from a gambling ban country what should be expected of you using a VPN to gamble it should be on a gambling site that accept the use of VPN on their site to reduce your risk exposure as someone that is gambling from a gambling ban country. But some casinos that allows the use of VPN still don't allow people from gambling ban countries to make use of their site to avoid sanctions that may arise from the authorities.

My own way I want add be say when person come inside the adoption of cryptocurrency like Bitcoin the importance thing the person need to first do to help himself nah to put head for ground to know both about the investment part and the trading on exchange side of bitcoin.

After you don know this two and their difference nah from there you go come weigh yourself to know which side your strength lies in, wether nah for trading or nah  investment anyone where you find your strength in you make sure to do more research about it to learn, to know and equip yourself with the right knowledge to take succeed for that area you choose.

The truth be say profit dey for both sides nah just for you as an individual to know how to take use the opportunities embedded in the different area but however don't forget say risk follow for the two so anyhow whey you they do make you take risk management seriously.
637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 10:26:44 PM
Liverpool and Chelsea match really exciting with Liverpool delivering masterpiece performance and pressuring Chelsea consistently. They've had one goal for their stress. Game on, I hope Chelsea can respond accordingly, but their defensive play isn't giving much hope in that regard. This match has a lot of surprises to unfold, let's keep our fingers crossed. Enzo Fernandez its really frustrated this evening, he's already gotten a yellow card. I hope he doesn't land himself into more troubles in the future.

Diogo Jota was full with confidence as he was able to pass in between two Chelsea defenders to score a beautiful goal on the 20th minutes of the game. Bashel hand was what assisted him to get through with the ball for him to score the goal.

Chelsea seems to be very weak for Liverpool as Liverpool is showing how quality their skills are compared to Chelsea. Liverpool is everywhere in the field. Madueke has left his position as a striker, and he is now a defender and a midfielder. The problem with Chelsea was that they started the match with a defensive game.

Bradley has scored with a super strike by placing the ball to the last angle of the left side post. This is the first goal that Bradley for Liverpool.
Liverpool 2-0
Diogo jota has been a terror in the Chelsea defence line,  he has successfully replace M.sallah.
I don't think Chelsea will be able to pose a threat even in the second half of this game, because is as if Liverpool have conquered the entire midfield and mountain the pressure more on the Chelsea defenders especially in the goal mouth, a good example is the penalty awarded to Liverpool, though it was missed but hasn't changed the fact that Liverpool are in charge of these game. Tactically the Chelsea midfield and attacking force are not creating any impact on the game thereby making Liverpool play them half field, the ball is always on the side of Chelsea's end and is not good for the optics.
Mauricio pochettino needs to come up with the tactical idea on how to bounce back into this game because given the way things are, it not looking well for the blues.
At first before the match was about to kick off I was assuming the game was going to end in a stalemate draw owing to the absence of Mohamed Sallah that visitors Chelsea will want to hold the game clinically in a way that they will succeed in achieving a draw at anfied but to my amazement when the ball bounced on the pitch and kept rolling it was a different thing altogether.

Going through history Chelsea has more often than not had a good result playing at anfied particularly in the days of Eden hazard and that that's why it's so shocking to see this current Chelsea team under Pochettino playing with no tactics and below standard, weak defence  and a midfield that is never improving on daily basis. Liverpool dominated the whole time of the game from start to finish and deserve the winning margin they got at 4:1.
638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there Casinos that offer Birthday Bonuses to their users? on: January 31, 2024, 09:30:57 PM
This incident caused  me to begin to wonder is there are any online casinos that actually celebrate their user's birthday by giving them such bonus on their birthday?
I am interested to know if there be any casino like that?
Your topic title says users not casino worker's. However it's common for organisations to celebrate one of their own as a staff particular for one that is diligent with their duties in the workplace. So if a casino decides to celebrate a birthday of their staff in that special way to the extend of giving the staff an off day to go rest from work addition to a voucher worth $150 then that's great and recommendable.

I know about giving off days to workers maybe if they just had their wedding but not birthdays so this case is really interesting and such show of love from the casino to their workers could serve a catalyst of a moral booster and encouragement for workers to bring out the best in them in delivering their responsibilities at workplace which will in turn in increase productivity in the organization at all levels.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: January 31, 2024, 02:17:42 PM
Let think about it this way; fixed match will not be spread all over or sold for cheap amounts to various people's in different platforms. We all know the penalty for officials caught fixing a match so how will they now go on to expose themselves about their intent by  leaking it to outsiders on social media platforms like telegram and facebook rather than just within their small whale circle.

It is scammers that uses use such avenue to deceive desperate gamblers and scam them of their money. Why will the individual be asking to sell a fixed match he is sure of for a $50 rate, like doesn't he also want to make huge money by playing that supposed fixed match he is laying claim on as a fixed match. These are rhetorics we should ask ourselves when these people approach us with their so-called fixed games.

Don't go wasting your money there's no fixed games it's just people speculating matches just like you and are trolling the social media platforms looking for gullible desperate gamblers to prey on and scam them of their money.
