621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]HoweyCoins: the only BitcoinTalk-endorsed ICO - GUARANTEED PROFIT on: February 18, 2019, 02:12:46 AM
It is obviously suspicious if there is some ICO project got endorsed by Bitcointalk itself.  Grin
But it can be a good education for us, to always doubting about the project before using our money into it.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fees Can Be Cheaper Depending on the Timezone on: February 17, 2019, 02:37:27 PM
In this new study by Diar, a company based on the analysis of digital currency data[1], stated in its February 13, 2019 edition, that Bitcoin transactions fees charges vary according to the regions in which users live and timezones.

According to the study[2], found that the fees for sending 1 BTC vary considerably during the day, as spending money during the day "UTC" costs far more than spending overnight.
This is different for those living in Australia and Japan.

[2] https://diar.co/volume-3-issue-5/#5

Maybe it is because in the day of UTC time, there are many bitcoin transactions being processed.
What i know in ethereum blockchain, the gas fee will be much higher if there are many eth transactions in that time.
623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How often do you check CoinMarketCap website? on: February 16, 2019, 04:38:19 PM
For me it has been nearly everyday once for years now.  Grin

Yes, me too. I usually check coinmarketcap to monitor the price of coins in my possession.
I think coinmarketcap.com is the most reliable website to check cryptocurrency price in general.
It is good when you can monitor your coin value, so you can quickly take any action if something happen.
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 No Bull Run, the Bull is Sleeping on: February 16, 2019, 04:28:30 PM
In my prediction i think every price altcoin is still down because fail and scam project.A good project lock their token to save a fall price. But its not give effect to make their price is up because too little buyer in market.
Will the altcoin raise again in middle 2019 ?

You are quite right, it was because many ICO were scam projects. The investors will be more picky before use their money in ICO now.
The bull run maybe not come in this year yet, but we should not expect only good things. The market of crypto still on the bottom,
it will be difficult to know when altcoin rise again in this year.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC SHOULD BE STOPPED FOR BOUNTY HUNTERS on: February 16, 2019, 04:11:02 PM
Well, cannot agree anymore with you. Bounty hunter no need to submit kYC because they are not investors who holds the tokens for long term.
But unfortunately the rules about bounty can change anytime, so just don't participate in the bounty if they can change the rules.
The most unfair one is when the bounty announce it doesn't need to submit KYC, but later it change to KYC is mandatory.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Sent Offline! on: February 15, 2019, 06:56:04 AM
I have always thought that internet is always needed to send bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. It's my first time learning that it could be done offline.

Check this article https://www.cryptovibes.com/crypto-news/bitcoin-transaction-shortwave-radio/

I read the article, the sent one is the private key, i dont know if it is safe for the user or not.
But at least, there are some peoples who trying to develop offline transaction in cryptocurrency.
If this thing manage to happened, then we will using bitcoin more easy.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized and centralized Exchanges on: February 15, 2019, 06:46:01 AM
Although I have been in this Cryptocurrency space for quite sometime now but I cannot tell without mincing words the difference between decentralized and centralized Exchanges.
Can anyone help out please.
What's the difference between the Decentralized and centralized Exchanges ?
Thanks

Centralized exchange means you need to create an account in exchange website.
Decentralized exchange won't need to create account. As long as you have wallet, you can trade using your wallet as exchange login.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC Satoshi Nakamoto own? on: February 15, 2019, 03:09:27 AM
I googled it and found he/she own 1 million bitcoin. But I was unable to find out the addresses where his/her BTC is stored. Do you know all the addresses? Is there a full list of his/her addresses? Probably I have googled with wrong keywords.
Thanks in advance.

There is no one who know how much bitcoin that Satoshi have. Even if there is some peoples, they won't give that information easily.
If we know that Satoshi still keeping much amount of bitcoins, then maybe the bitcoin price will drop because we afraid he will dump
the bitcoins in the market in large amount.
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Paper Wallet on: February 15, 2019, 02:49:31 AM
I just wondering why some people don't use paper wallet to secure their bitcoin, Some of them are just putting to the exchanger and trust their funds that no assurance of safety.I don't understand why they did not use the most secure way to keep their bitcoins.

Any Thoughts?

Using exchange wallet is easier than using pc wallet, although you have private key in pc wallet.
This is because when you use exchange wallet, you don't need to download and sync the blockchain database.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Deep Web on: February 14, 2019, 03:59:08 PM
So im literally a curioused person which wanted to have more informations about Deep Web and its wierd and creepy videos and stuffs. So I recently streaming youtube for a couple of hours, so basic compared to what deep web has, but after about 10 videos,i found this gem.

https://youtu.be/rEtGb4Eenp0

So for those who have no time watching a 14:27 minute video, ill make a summary for you.

So theres this youtuber who wants to access deep web, just a curious guy like me. Then after a boring introduction, he finally opens the site. So to make the story short. He finds all illegal stuffs like hacking, buying other peoples account including paypal and even bank accounts perhaps, steps on how to do illegal things and a bunch of drug dealers all for suprisingly low price. Whats surprising is this.

MOST OF THE DEALS ARE CAN ONLY BOUGHT BY BITCOIN !!!!!!!!!

WTF. I really stumbled that even the dark webs and illegal organizations only accepts BTC because of its anonimity.

Heres an interesting topic for you guys. Lets discuss about this and maybe you have a lot information than mine.

It has been very well known that most bitcoin payment transactions is running on the dark web.
The bitcoin usage as a payment in the surface world is still far from dark world. And bitcoin is not fully anonymous actually.
Except you use some mixer to become anonymous using your bitcoin.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Can Now Buy Movie Tickets Using Bitcoin In Brazil on: February 14, 2019, 03:50:42 PM
People Can Now Buy Movie Tickets Using Bitcoin In Brazil
Buying movie tickets in Brazil just got a whole lot easier through Bitcoin payment systems established by Cine Multi.

Brazil initially showed signs of interest in Bitcoin and the blockchain technology last in 2017 when Brazilian Hotel Chain Vert Hotéis started accepting Bitcoins as payment for their services. This was then followed by Brazil's usage of the Ethereum blockchain to keep track and monitor the political expression of Brazilian citizens.

Read more here: https://www.unblock.news/news/people-can-now-buy-movie-tickets-using-bitcoin-in-brazil

The showed sign of interest in bitcoin means bitcoin has moving forward few steps in public adoption.
When the public adopt bitcoin completely, they will use bitcoin for paying anything.
And of course it will begin with buying something trivial like tickets with bitcoin.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Received 0.00000546 BTC in your Wallet | Bitcoin Attack on: February 14, 2019, 03:39:29 PM
If you received  0.00000546 BTC, where did it come from and do I need to be worried?” If you’ve received a small amount of BTC and aren’t sure where it came from, you may be a victim of a dusting attack. Learn how they may affect you.

I guess this kind of attack will targeting your personal identity, this won't work for common peoples.
Let say they managed to know who are you by your wallet movements, unless you want to stay anonymous, you won't get a problem.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep the BitCoins Safe? on: February 13, 2019, 01:32:17 AM
Hack and Hacks, every day I am waking up to the news of crypto exchanges getting hacked, recently a crypto exchanges founder died and he seem to have a hold of $190 million worth of BitCoins with him.
I have taken a pledge of never using a custodial exchanges, even if it is Binance, and not matter how much CZ says that he will keep the cryptos SAFU, I am not doing the mistake of keeping my money at stake.

I did a detailed study of what exchanges to use and what wallets to use -

  • Exchanges - Instant exchanges only, Changelly, ChangeNow, CoinSwitch etc.
  • Wallets - Divided into two parts - Ledger NANO S for long term investment, and keeping the funds safe, MultiCurrency wallet for trading, ex - Gaurda Wallet, Exodus Wallet

Let me know what you guys think.

Exchanges are often targeted by hackers because it holds many coins in their wallet.
Therefore, using exchange to store your coins is absolutely out of recommendation.
Using Ledger NANO is a good idea because it is your own wallet, not like exchange wallet. Just use exchange wallet when you want to trading.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you have to take risks. on: February 12, 2019, 02:53:39 AM
Yes, you are right. Every business has its own risks and as we all know, life itself even risks, and knows the business knows success.
These are two benefits of taking risks in my opinion.
1. Taking it quickly makes you stand out and show your confidence.
That is the best way to get people to stop and see you as a leader, as someone to be reckoned with. The most successful start ups are run by people who will never be "ok" with the status quo. Having knowledge combined with self-confidence makes you shine.

2. Risk taking can teach us new lessons that we don't miss.
Taking risks gives us invaluable opportunities to grow. It's nice to take risks, and if they don't succeed the first time, take what you have learned and take other risks. You only learn when taking risks and really learning what will make you successful. Nothing is impossible.

Because i believe when there is some risk involved in your investment, the more you will gain.
Behind the risk, there must be some profit that offered, otherwise no peoples will come with only high risk without high gain.
The thing we must do is manage the risks that we have to deal with it.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Power Of Hold ! on: February 12, 2019, 02:41:29 AM
Just holding coin won't make you bring any profit, you must know what is the good time to buy too.
Buying a coin when the price skyrocketing and holding it for long, won't make a nice income.
You must buy in the low price, and holding for the long time to maximize your profit.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing In ICO's vs Investing AFTER The ICO on: February 12, 2019, 02:32:19 AM
I see a lot of people wondering if they should invest in ICO's. I think the best option for any potential investor is to wait until the ICO ends, THEN invest. For instance, Nauticus was an ICO that started back in March. They recently launched their exchange and have been doing pretty good. Prices are only down 30% from the ICO price. That is a GOOD sign, BUT the prices still fell! This was a high quality project that raised $19,000,000. If they're falling a little bit due to the bear market, then you can expect 99% of the other ICO's currently out there to fall as well. It's all going to be dependent on the market, but in terms of risk I think it's better off if you just wait, THEN invest after the product launches. At the end of the day DYOR! It's imperative that you guys understand that we are in a bear market. Even the best projects like Nauticus, Ethereum, Bitcoin, NEO ect are all falling. I would assume that they won't fall forever tho Tongue

Nauticus Exchange - https://nauticus.exchange/exchange/

Why don't do both ? You can investing in ICO and after it listed on the exchanges.
If you only investing in ICO sale, you won't be able to buy the tokens from the others at low price,
and if you only investing after ICO, the ICO itself may not reached it's softcap. So, do both.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone explain in simple words what's the SEC and why we need it? on: February 11, 2019, 02:34:34 AM
I hear so much about the SEC in the last few weeks. Can anyone explain what's so important about this decision. why it's good for the market, and why we get rejected?

Well, SEC is Securities and Exchange Commission, a legal federal in US.
Their duty is to regulates the matters about securities market in the world, and protecting the investors against fraud.
If bitcoin ETF approved by them, i think it will be good because more peoples will come into crypto.
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is The Most Ridiculous Invention Ever Made on: February 11, 2019, 02:13:21 AM
https://youtu.be/pSbSKGDypPY

The above video shows that by buying Bitcoin one is selling ownership of something and buying ownership of nothing. This is because Bitcoin is just a fancy name for changed digits, and the fact is that something cannot appear or disappear by changing digits. Since Bitcoin is the first time in human history that people voluntarily and massively give up something to become the owners of absolutely and literally nothing, this makes Bitcoin the most ridiculous invention ever made.

But the process of buying and selling were continuing in the past, that made bitcoin valuable.
Peoples were buying with lower price, and selling with higher price in the market of exchange.
Therefore, the price of bitcoin was continuing to rise and sometimes get corrected back if too high.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption: Don't just sit down, do something on: February 11, 2019, 02:03:46 AM
We all want bitcoin to be globally adopted right, you want to be able to use your bitcoin as a currency to buy foodstuffs, goods or service in your local community then what are you doing to encourage that? No one here can tell me that he/she hasn't sold anything before, so you have no excuse of not accepting bitcoin in exchange for what you sold be it your books, gadget or anything salable expect you never knew of bitcoin then.
I walked into my barbers shop yesterday then notice something was different (i took a closer look at what was printed on the A4 paper pasted on the notice board and it reads "We now accept Bitcoin & ETH as payment options" it went on to explain that ETH will be accepted for the $2 and below fees and bitcoin accepted for fees above that. It gave me joy because I was the one who introduced him to bitcoin few years back. As an act of encouragement I have promise to promote his business both online and in popular blockchain related gathering I attend.
Few of my previously sold gadget monetary value were received in cryptocurrency and i have come to realize if we want the world to take us seriously we have to act ourselves so I'm encouraging the service providers and others we have on forum to start accepting bitcoin, charity begins at home.

Indeed, bitcoin won't be adopted automatically without peoples themselves are using it as a payment.
Other thing that makes bitcoin adopted is the hype, like at the end of 2017, peoples were come to cryptocurrency because the value were very high.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrencies be able to use for payment? on: February 10, 2019, 02:43:05 PM
Lots of blockchain team have developed blockchain and cryptocurrency for payment.

Will cryptocurrencies be able to use for payment?

Will it be useful and convenience?

Which coin do you think the best for payment in the near future?

I think cryptocurrency is already being used for payment currency in the wide world, mostly in the dark world.
Using crypto is more useful than using fiat i guess. No matter how many you use it, small or big amount, the fee remain same.
You will facing some difficulties when moving a large amount of money in fiat currency, unlike cryptocurrency.
