Thanks guys! Updated the info on one of the cards.
622  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS: 5970s ~ $150 (650mh/s, 600kh/s stock) on: December 04, 2012, 09:46:55 PM
Have a couple of rigs I'm getting rid of... Just want to sell the 5970s though

4x 5970s guaranteed to mine at 725mhz core 1.000 VDDC...

They get 650mh/s bitcoin and around 600kh/s litcoin mining.

Shipping will be extra unless you buy 3 or all 4... then its free. Not gonna test them gaming. As far as I know, none of them artifact... But some havn't been run as primary dispaly in a while.

Want these gone quick. First to establish an agreement over pm and send bitcoins gets them.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention, one of the cards has been reflowed... Both of the cores. Been mining fine for weeks. This cards comes with a 15 day warranty for mining. All the other cards have not been reflowed and work perfectly to my knowledge.

ALSO: If someone has good rep. but it short on bitcoins... I can take half up front and as long as you can pay the rest within two weeks that is fine.

Thanks,
Andrew

625  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner: modular FPGA/GPU & X6500, overclk/fans, GBT, RPC, Linux/PPA/Win 2.9.3 on: November 30, 2012, 05:13:25 PM
Sorry, this may be noobish. But I'm having a hard time figuring out hot to mine litecoins with bfgminer... I downloaded the latest version (2.9.3) but I can't figure out how to enable scrypt.

I do not want to have to compile it myself and when I added -o --scrypt via command line.... BFGminer freezes and the display driver crashs. I also set my shaders to 1600 (mining with 5970s) intensity 13...

My conf file has diablo as the kernel? Maybe this is the problem? Should I use poclbm?

Thanks,
Andrew
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does LTC only worth 7 mBTC? on: November 30, 2012, 12:25:46 PM
As more people start mining litecoins.... More people will be using litecoins... Demand will go up along with supply... The ratio of supply growth to demand growth is what matters.

Are people hoarding? - Good (atleast on the short term) for price

Are people spending and recirculating the currency? - Good for price

Are people converting to dollars or bitcoins everything they mine? - Bad for price.
627  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Hiring C++ and JS programmers on: November 30, 2012, 03:04:27 AM
I know a guru in Wilmington NC (he helps graduate students in my program on thesis/captone projects)... can contact him at the link below. He does consulting...

I am relatively new to the community and bitcoin itself so I don't know what you are looking to pay/offer in equity... and I understand if this is a probono/power to the people project.

He is however, one of the most productive programmers I've ever seen and an all around awesome guy.

^pmed

^^I wouldnt just start baking for longer and longer... Do you have a meat thermometer or an infrared thermometer (one of those handheld guns) that you could use to check the temperature of your oven after its preheated?  Check the temp before you  put it in and if it gets anywhere between 385-400 you are probably fine.

Sometimes it doesn't work...
636  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: November 21, 2012, 05:39:49 PM
Just baked two 5970s in the oven... One now posts where it didn't before... Havn't gotten drivers on it yet so it may still be worthless. Gonna play with it more after thanksgiving.

The other: fan used to spin. Now it doesn't... card won't post. Gonna play with it after thanksgiving as well... Probably killed it though.

Also baked a 7950... no luck there either.
637  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: November 21, 2012, 05:56:28 AM
Haha, not hating on you. Never learn untill you try something.

I'll buy anything for the right price anyways... Smiley
638  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: November 20, 2012, 03:18:04 PM
No but like all other surface mounted parts... They will fall off if you bake/heat for too long Wink

Seriously: I've heard of people removing electolitic caps and other components before reflow.... But it is a big hassle... honestly, you are taking a risk just by reflowing but if its not under warranty and isn't working then you are not taking too big a risk.

Unless of course you want to sell it to me Smiley... I don't buy cards other people have tried a reflow on... Seen too many people over do it, can cause cards that are unsafe to put into any computer(shorts all over the card and in the power circuit).

Good luck though, I probably won't get to my reflows untill after thanks giving.

Bump
640  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: November 20, 2012, 01:03:25 PM
Not sure what you mean by remove the ports? Short answer is no. You need to remove the heatsink/fan and any thermal paste or pads on the pcb... Had an HDMI port fall off one time when I was replacing a surface mount resistor near it.... Looked like a bitch to get back on so I said screw it Smiley... RMAd the card
