6201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If crowdfunding started from IEO on: December 04, 2020, 11:51:22 PM
I'm just curious, if IEO was the first crowdfunding that came out with full hype just like ICO in 2017 would there still be better trusts on new projects today? I believe that IEO delivers more trust through top exchanges and that's why they are still very much alive today compare to ICO, what do you say?
Still the same. Even if they crowdfund gone through exchanges but if the projects are lie-low and don't continue in development.
The trust of the people will remain the same with projects and that is most of us will still doubt them. It's not about the good exchange where they've held their crowdfund but it's about their progress and continuous process of making the project owkr.
6202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think is the biggest disadvantage of bitcoin? on: December 04, 2020, 11:20:17 PM
I think high fees aren't a disadvantage of bitcoin properly, but a network one. Or at least a temporary disadvantage of dealing with bitcoins, which can be solved in the future.
I see it as an disadvantage. But that really stops someone to send a transaction if it's unnecessary and the fees being asked is that much. Well, one can say that high fees are really a disadvantage and if you're too meticulous with the fees.
You'll see it as an advantage or sometimes if you don't have much and the fees are a lot, it is dismaying.
6203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much is Flare going to be worth? on: December 04, 2020, 10:55:48 PM
100B supply
If this is the supply of Flare then that would pretty be near to the price of XRP but before it has turned to bull. But don't you expect a lot. Although free money is still free regardless how much you have XRP and how many Flare you'll receive with its airdrop. I see that you're thinking of holding it but you need to research first if its development is good.

I don't expect the price of Flare to even touch XRP at the moment. Now when I look at the supply, it tells me that get whatever you can from Flare and quit.
It also has a lot of supply so this free money will be sold by most of the XRP holders. Expect and see to it that the price would dump but if there's a real score for this project.
Despite the dump, then it will remain strong.
6204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fake black Friday deals on: December 04, 2020, 10:35:12 PM
Is there anyone on here getting crypto blackfriday deals through their email address? I keep getting blackfriday deals like buying bitcoin and other coins at cheaper rate but I was smart enough to do some diggings and I see that scammers are targeting emails to lure people and scam them, do not go through your emails to take advantage of any blackfriday deals
I do. But I've never participated with any of them. I make sure that it's from a reliable source or coming from an official email.
I usually receive emails from Ledger and that's an official sale or whatever promo that they have. Be vigilant and check the resources if it's from the official website.
6205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will XRP Surpass ETHEREUM SOON?! $589 per XRP💥🚀 on: December 04, 2020, 08:48:13 PM
Is $589 per XRP coin really possible?!
Taking crypto into the next level of volatility, there is a possibility for any price. But if we take Math with its supply, I don't think that it will happen anytime soon or even the next 5-10 years. As long as Ethereum keeps on progressing, it will be harder for any altcoin to surpass it.
I can't think of anything that XRP can do to surpass Ethereum soon.
6206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blocked funds in a poker room on: December 03, 2020, 11:47:36 PM
Good luck with the negotiations OP. We're just tuning in on how that poker site will handle the situation. But as you know, there are a lot of crypto casinos that don't allow VPN to access them.
Since you have been in touch with them, we have to wait and again, good luck.
6207  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top Dice Casinos on: December 03, 2020, 11:14:54 PM
OP, you forgot to include Bitvest in the list.  Tongue I know, there are still other sites to be included, but what is your criteria to be included in the poll? In this forum alone, we have long list of casinos offering dice  game.
Yes. He forgot one of the oldest dice site and it's also reputable. Not because we're on the same campaign but recognizing its tenure in the crypto gambling community is appreciated. He hasn't included other good dice sites like Roobet, bustadice, wolf.bet.
Although it's just a poll but having a lot of choices will make the best stand out.
6208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is uniswap a good place for the new tokens? on: December 03, 2020, 10:42:12 PM
Be choosy.
It's not all of the tokens there are worth it to buy. Most of the new tokens and get listed there are good performers only during their beginnings. But after that everyone has taken their share to pump that token, there will be a massive dump. And you need to watch that out before you miss taking your share. That is why you need to be careful if you are into new tokens.
6209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Suspicious link removed]ives on Wall Street: S&P Dow Jones launching crypto indexes in 2021 on: December 03, 2020, 10:19:13 PM
Im worried about bitcoin because wall street can be manipulate Bitcoin in the next years. Creating chaos by selling non-existent bitcoins only in the form of a contract. This is against the very nature of bitcoin and can turn everything upside down. Although it seems to be positive in the short term.
PayPal is doing it already. Selling bitcoins and won't be able to send outside their platform. Your worry is legit IMO. But as year passes by, investors are becoming more intelligent.
They get to understand what would be on those indices and the actual bitcoin that they can hold, send and receive.

6211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: assistance finding a wallet on: December 03, 2020, 09:21:07 PM
Just an update...I chose the Atomic wallet for my purposes, as it supports everything I mentioned except for iota.

I'm also leaving bitcoin in my electrum wallet. so I've gone from 7 wallets to 3.
Good choice for Electrum. It's one of the best wallet for keeping bitcoin. I've used Atomic wallet and I find it easy to use and somehow good as well.
And since you've already got your wallets, this thread has to be closed now and you can do it through locking it.
6212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Web wallet better than mobile wallet on: December 03, 2020, 09:01:14 PM
A web wallet is one such wallet. You do not need to use any additional applications to save it. It is much safer. In my opinion, web wallet is much better than mobile wallet. Using it does not require a separate space. Hopefully the wallet will expand further in the future.
Most web wallets don't allow you to hold private keys and that's why it's not a good basis and say that it's better than mobile wallet. As long as your wallet doesn't provide you private keys, that's not a good wallet.
But If you intend to store large amounts of crypto for long periods of time, then i would suggest cold storage methods like Ledger Nano X which is probably the best choice.
Even the old Nano S is still fine though.
6213  Economy / Economics / Re: world getting ready for 2021 for final year for usa dollar i guess so on: December 03, 2020, 08:33:19 PM
I don't have an economics degree and I think you should volunteer to apply for Biden's staff as an economic adviser. You seem to be worried at all with the economy which you shouldn't be and just mind yourself fleeing the inflation that's waiting for the impact of the more printed money.
if the whole fiat based currency will be affected coused of big economic chaos...then even we want to use crypto how it will be having value ?
There's no chaos but it's undeniable that the market experienced economic decline and that's been seen when oil has plummeted. And for bitcoin being tied its price with dollar, that's not going to be much affected. If dollar declines, bitcoin will simply go up. I think somebody has explained that already why it'll be like that.
6214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the government accept it? on: December 03, 2020, 08:10:29 PM
The truth of the matter is, you can't regulate bitcoin. It doesn't matter what the government does in the end of the day. Bitcoin is likely to be accepted by the community, but not by the government. This is Bitcoin's current status.
It is important if the government will intervene or have interest in bitcoin. This give confidence for those who are new to it. Government can also be part of the community as they play a huge role.
Although it's not mainly for them but once they started to talk about it and gives people their positive thought on it, you'll see an enormous welcoming from people who doubted bitcoin.
6215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple and 20 XRP minimum on: December 02, 2020, 11:40:39 PM
The price of XRP has risen and that 20 XRP would matter this time. But that's their rule and no one can avoid that rule. So if you want to have a new XRP wallet.
The deposit you will be putting there will automatically charge 20 XRP to keep the wallet. Before sending, make sure that you'll have that amount or if you don't like, remain to your old xrp wallet.
6216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what do you have to say about Kingswap on: December 02, 2020, 10:58:00 PM
It's not the only swap that has the same feat as Uniswap. A lot of them came out after the success Uniswap took.
For the records of coinmarketcap, it shows almost no volume at all. Do you think that it's worth it to trade for that token that has a low volume?
6217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best anonymous coin ? on: December 02, 2020, 10:28:47 PM
It's still Monero. What's next to it I guess is Grin. As you know, it's the first altcoin that's being accepted by the forum if you're going to pay for a Copper Membership.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote
Monero is the best for anonymity in thousands of altcoins. The 2 submitted 2 patents from Cypher Trace were discussed with my own opinion  there. If they truly did and finished something great to trace transactions and break the anonymity of Monero transactions, I don't understand how it took them so long time to submit patents for their discoveries? Many people in Monero community thought it is a FUD on the coin and I believe in this theory as well.

Grincoin does not bring anonymous to people who use it for transactions as how it was built up to be.
Base mimblewimble isn't really designed to be a "black box of reliable anonymity" in the way that Monero or Wasabi-CoinJoins are, where connections are hard-broken. It's more of a framework on which you could build solid anonymity using techniques that have largely not yet been perfected, plus major scaling benefits. Monero = CT + stealth addresses + ring signatures. Grin = CT + "stealth addresses" + mimblewimble. Because grin replaces ring signatures with mimblewimble, its privacy is less reliable than Monero's. Probably the grin developers have tried to make their mimblewimble transaction aggregation methods good, but I currently wouldn't put much faith in it, and IMO it'll take many years of research to get something really solid. That said, CT + stealth addresses offer a certain base level of privacy, and grin's method of handling stealth addresses (using an interactive protocol, exchanging "slates") is both more scalable than Monero and probably more private.

If your goal is to mix coins, grin is definitely not for you right now, and it may never be. Monero's goal is maximal privacy, regardless of the cost. Grin's goal is excellent privacy, consistent with scaling.
Thank you for these details that you have shared for both coins I believe as the best in privacy.

Thanks guys for the reply. How about Verge ? Don't you think it's better the Monero ?
Also regarding Monero's security being compromised, do you think it'll affect its price ?
Thanks
IMO, Monero is still better than verge.
Price affection, it could be somehow but it wouldn't changed a lot if your concern is the price because it has already established itself in the market.
6218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: assistance finding a wallet on: December 02, 2020, 10:00:43 PM
For linux, this is only for bitcoin wallet.
https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet?step=5&platform=linux
And with all of those suggested multi-currency wallets, you only need to look for their downloads and see if they support linux.
6219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Rally to Over $19,800 Likely Because of “Smart Money” on: December 02, 2020, 09:28:08 PM
Comparison of gold and bitcoin will always be in the talks. And if the time for bitcoin is surging, we'll always get to see those comparisons. But this time, bitcoin is more useful than gold. It has a lot of uses although gold will always be a good investment.
And for these smart money, I just wish that they'll remain just like the most of us even if a storm comes in the market.
6220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2.0 Ethereum on: December 02, 2020, 09:00:48 PM
There's a good discussion that has already been made on an earlier thread that's made for this topic.
ETH 2.0 is LIVE!! - no need to create another thread for this topic.
