I don't have knowledge on programming so my suggestion could be stupid, so correct me if I am. My suggestion is: - Can we have a new feature to help users fastly switch orders of columns in table (in format and in contents at the same time) when they want to edit? Please let me using my following table as an example for this suggestion. Position | Username | Date of register | Earned merits | Sent merits | _____________________ | _________________________ | __________________ | ________________ | ____________ | Admin | Cyrus | 16/01/2013 | 124 | 289 |
The above one is the initial format. If I want to switch the column #1 (Position) and column #2 (Username), I have to do three things (with the current forum): - Change column's titles: Username for #1 and Position for #2
- Change columns' width: if in the initial format, those two columns have different widths.
- Change the contents inside each column.
The first and second to-do things are simple and don't cost too much time but the third one requires lot of time. We have to manually edit it, it's a kind of time wasting. So, can we have that feature in the new forum software? - Automatically switch contents between columns in table if table format changed

In the forum, you have three options to do it: Notifications have advantages and disadvantages. If you overuse notifications (posts/ topics) you will be spammed and burried with notifications, which I don't think you really expect. I agree with the new feature for Epochtalk but as an personal option.

P.P.S. Merit per post earned for posts made since the introduction of the merit system would be a better metric.
Done, malevolent. Update:- npost: total posts made since January 24, 2018, 11:00:11 PM (forum time), when the merit system born; till December 05, 2019, 02:30:17 AM
- emerit: total earned merit till the last week (2019w47) data dump from theymos, stored in the loyce's club at http://loyce.club/Merit/userID_sent_received.txt
- emeritppost = emerit / npost
- rank_emp: Rank based on emeritppost (descendingly) and emerit (descendingly) with the first priority is emeritppost.

- emerits: includes earned merits in posts made before the merit system began.

bitmover gave the Piggy's notification bot already, so I skip it. There is another alternative for OP, in the future: LoyceV's: Follow users on Bitcointalk.org (posts and/or topics)For now, there are some bugs (need to be fixed) but in later versions, I think it will do great. In LoyceV, I believe. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) If you have interests in that one, now you can support LoyceV by joining his free tests (to help him find bugs and fix them). T for topics, P for posts. More details, please read that thread.

OP thinks that the desktop wallet (Bitcoin Core, Electrum or whatever else) is unsafe in case he uses it to sign message and probably lose funds. A sign message is a kinda of ownership proof but it does not a mandatory requirement to have funds inside that wallet when, after or before, signing that message to prove that one has control on that wallet. So why not sign a message from a 'blank' wallet? Blank ~ zero-fund inside. Consequently, no one can compromise your funds and you still can sign a message, totally safe. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I think one of good solution is using Electrum (for example, I like it because it is light and does not require too much storage on my computer) to create a wallet, then use it to sign a message. Then, backup that wallet's seeds, keep it safe (but backup should be made in dozens, not only one; just in case). After that, reinstall the Electrum wallet from computer. So no one can compromise that wallet from that computer. But the last thing is keeping backups of seeds safely. With seeds, anyone who get access to seeds can retrieve that wallet. There is another way to backup wallet, using the backup file of wallet (that has a strong password too). People who have your wallet backup file have to crack wallet's passphrase to control the private key and funds (if there are) inside. Click on File > Save copy > Type a name for your wallet backup file. I usually backup my wallet in both two ways, just in case some of those backups broken.

And with this I don't need to open laptop to resize avatar when joining bounties.
Companies often release avatars that meet forum requirements so participants don't have to resize. It is very rarely to see companies run their bounties with overlarge avatars. In such situations, they will resize their avatars after receiving complaints from participants. @OP, You made a thread on image (avatar, in particular)'s size, so I thought you should use the width, height options for images in OP. Current images in OP are too large.

If you mean game-protect, he isn't banned. Modlog shows data for the past 7 days, and he has over 100 deleted posts. So he may have received a tempban, but they aren't shown in public. I counted and saw 112 posts (of GP) deleted. The number of total deleted posts is 1345. 8.3% of total deleted posts belong to GP at December 04, 2019, 01:53:54 AM (forum time). . di 112/1345*100 8.3271375
User game-protect is currently banned. Temporarily or not can say only global moderators.
With tem bans, users are still able to wear signature. It's clear that GP don't have permanent ban, but if he got temp banned, it will be his second time.

This website looks like ponzi scheme. Maybe I'm wrong, but I got such impression after looking into it. And campaign is managed by Jr. Member without any escrow - it's another red flag. I'm not sure that this campaign should be listed here.
In my opinion, escrow or not, it does not a matter if the site is legit. Each company has different funds to start their service, and promotions so they are free to choose how they run their promotions (with or without Escrow; manage promotions by themselves or hire managers). I am fine with it. There is nothing wrong if a small (but legit) start-up run their campaigns by their own accounts and don't use Escrow. It's their company, campaign and fund, why they have to use Escrow? BUT:It is not good to see a campaign thread created as a self-moderated one, especially if it comes from lower rank accounts (without management history).
Smartmixer.io has 6 open spots. We have some new positions to fill in this Campaign! 3x Sr. Members, 2x Hero Members & 3x Legendary Members, apply now! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Well findings, @Halab, and @malevolent. As always, if one finds new things or incorrect things, please let me know. I said please guys. It's your local boards, something like your favorite houses and your languages. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) @LTU_btc, as I read (but not remembered all words wrote by theymos), he requested new moderators for Japanese because he can read, understand and write in Japanese but only most common words & phrases. He is not able to Japanese-proficient enough to manage that local board. There is another reason why local boards are rarely to be created. If there is a local board, there is demand to find a new local moderator. That's something challenging. Admin feels difficult to find new moderators for new local boards and current moderators/ admins sometimes don't know local languages to manage them (if they have time to do it).

Just kidding but I want to give a serious reminder (for newbies), guys. Yes, your bitcoin can be hacked if you sign a message. If you are dumb enough to include your private key in your sign message. Who knows? Newbies mostly dumb enough to do stupid things and sometimes some stupid things result in serious losses. I said this because months ago I made a recommendation to include email address (as another proof for account recovery) in a sign message. Then someone gave me a valuable warning that it is a stupid idea that is what I agreed with. I was dumb in the past, as you can see. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) (3) Registered email for specific account.
People wouldn't like to display their emails to the public... Email spammers will just get excited by the thread and just come over to compile lists of emails which they can later spam with scam and phishing links. Emails that were used for registering accounts at least won't get deleted from the database even when the account changes hands so, it isn't necessary to sign with your email address too So please don't include your private key in your sign message.

When I did it, I found that the userid of @Andreas Schildbach (userid = 3696) is missing from the list of userid that I took from the loyce's club. Which list did you use? The account is included in the full list, but missing from my Merit-lists because there's not a single Merit transaction on that account (just like 2.7 million other accounts). I checked your full list again, and sure you are right. I took it from there Below theymos' raw data, theymos' data, Usernames to go with theymos' data, you made that list, so I misunderstood that one is the list for user who have merit history (sent or gave away). Maybe I dump and the others don't so they will understand this list title better. Sorry for taking your time. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)
It would be more useful if you were to add their respective subforums too.
I am not going to add it because the names of moderators for each local boards are available and displayed on each board already. If you actually use your local board, you surely know who are your moderators. Next, some moderators simultaneously moderate some boards, not only one. Addtionally, if one newbie is curious, there is place to get it. History of local boardsLastly, I am going to use space for such stats later. P.P.S. Merit per post earned for posts made since the introduction of the merit system would be a better metric.
I will try to figure it out..

- Is it only as of the appreciation from theymos to them? or It has special advantages like [get the priority to be accepted on a bounty campaign, or get a guarantee for something else]
No, IMO. The probability to get accepted in campaigns, especially high-paid ones that are competitive depends on some factors: - Average post quality. - Overal net-effects: should be positive (post quality is only one of them). Contribution in the art contest is only one of them but it is a minor one. Because it is in short term while net-effect is for long-term. - Trust flags history. There is no guarentee that a Legendary user will be accepted when applying in campaigns, and the same thing will be for only five users who have the art badge. - Will the art badges be permanent? or just given for temporarily and will be disappeared someday?
If the Art badge is temporary, theymos would have not added in the forum, if you take into consideration when it happened, not within the period for April Fool. There is no chance to see any kind of official financial priviledges with the art badge, of course except the payments for the art contest winners (one-time payments). For managers, I strongly believe professional managers will not blindly look at art badge and automatically accept users who have that badge.

Thanks. I will look at them ASAP.
Done. Updated for OP (with correct stats and alphabetical orders) and post #2. When I did it, I found that the userid of @Andreas Schildbach (userid = 3696) is missing from the list of userid that I took from the loyce's club. I add it for my file but please check yours, @LoyceV. can you also include in your data about who are those merit sources? Or, all staff are expected that they are merit sources. .
You can get it around the forum, there are some official stats from the forum, and from the community (in topics); but theymos does not want to see such things. I am not going to this one. Merit sources are free to reveal their source amounts, though I think it may be a bit unwise. While it will eventually become obvious roughly what the source amounts are from the stats, there's a huge difference between showing up in a "list of probable merit sources" and having a quote out there of you basically saying "I'm a merit source, come beg me for merit, complain about every merit I send, and accuse me of being part of the anti-X/pro-Y conspiracy."

|
In the OP it says that hilariousandco only has 142 earned merits. In your 2nd post you didn't make this mistake.
Oops. You are right. I made a flip between Mr. Big and hilariousandco. I saw another mistake too. Please give me a minute to check my code and correct it. Is this (rickbig41) original name of Mr. Big?
|
|
|
P.S. Some of those earned merits numbers are wrong, e.g. for my account, or for hilariousandco's.
Those figures in OP are ones I took from weekly data dump from theymos' raw data and loyce's club. They are not real-time figures. P.P.S. Merit per post earned for posts made since the introduction of the merit system would be a better metric.
I will try to figure it out. There are also several users with mod privileges on wallet software's child-boards:
ThomasV, Andreas Schildbach, Mike Hearn, goatpig, and Rassah
But they aren't treated like regular Staff members.
Thanks. I will look at them ASAP.

I hope that the list will help newbies pay more time to read posts made by people who contributed to manage the forum. I don't say their posts always have higher quality than posts of normal users but you should read their posts carefully because I am sure that you will improve your understandings on both the forum rules and crypto. * Cryptios:* Mod-privileged: - Suggested by @malevolent. Patrollers:- They are not included in the thread.

This is True, I have merited people who I dislike on this forum due to the posts being of value. The best advise for people wanting merit is to spend more time reading the forum, read the merited posts/threads and become a better user.
Excellent advice, @TMAN. There is one of good place to do this: Inspirational stories from self-made promoted users
