6241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers - 2nd round (Let's discuss) on: April 30, 2022, 12:14:33 AM
Who's gonna win the series, and why?

I think the Miami Heat matchup pretty well against the 76ers.  You could make the argument that the 76ers have more talent and star power, but the Heat are dogs.  Bam is one of the strongest guys in the league and he is going to make Joel Embiid miserable the entire series.  You can bet there will be plenty of bruising going on down low.  Jimmy Butler has also been playing great and is always a matchup nightmare.  Harden has been playing better suddenly, so it won't be easy for any team.  I'd like to say the Sixers have this, as I do believe they are the more talented team, but I don't like the matchup with Miami, so I think they're going to have problems.  We'll see what happens soon enough.
6242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teach me to invest in NFTs. on: April 29, 2022, 11:19:28 PM
I want to invest in several kinds of NFTs. I don’t know if you have any good recommendations. I want interesting and collectible ones. Can spiritmoney collect this? It is the first time I have seen such a deflationary NFT. Grin Grin Grin

Interesting and collectible might not be the best criteria for selecting an NFT project.  You might want to look into things like what utility it provides and if that's something you're interested in.  Some of them have community funds they raise to do things like purchase land in the metaverse for their project.  Others do things like donate to charity, or allow you access to certain content.  Others act as memberships that might get you into certain parties or gyms.  Then there are the "art" pieces that are images you purchase because you might like the image.  Now there are even songs you can purchase the rights to and remix to release your own derivative art.  Pretty cool really.
6243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 29, 2022, 03:01:01 AM
What the F Chris Paul! Literally perfect game for him, 14/14 with 33 points and all contribution to 3pts, reb and assist. He is a monster especially when Booker injured. His tandem with Ayton very strong despite the strong defense and offense of Pelicans. Glad I bet with them during half time with 3.0 odds. Phoenix is back again!

That’s got to be his greatest playoff performance ever. He brought it tonight. Playing in New Orleans is special for Paul after having played their early in his career. You could tell it was extremely emotional for him. Now Booker can rest the hammy a little bit and hope that Dallas loses tonight so he can get a couple more days of rest. Ayton and Paul were great tonight. It’s going to be very difficult for anyone to beat the Suns when those two are shooting that high of a percentage from the field. Looking forward to the rest of the playoffs but I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed so far. I really wanted to see Ben Simmons and Zion Williamson come in to try and save the series for their teams.
6244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 29, 2022, 12:42:10 AM
Ayton and Chris Paul are looking great. Neither have them missed a shot in the first half but the rest of the team seems to be struggling a little bit at getting the ball in the hole. The Pelicans are looking like they want to force a game 7 in this series. The intensity is really picking up. Hard fouls and lots of talking going on. I don’t think the Suns want to let this go another game and put the series on the line without Booker in the lineup. You can expect to see them try and take things to another level for this second half. Stakes are high for both teams…
6245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ETH goes to PoS, who's up next? on: April 28, 2022, 08:17:11 PM
Looking at the profitability of GPUs, I'm led to believe that Ravencoin may see a resurgence in price as miners are forced to move to mining it for revenue.  Surely there will be an impact.  I guess the question is if there will be demand to satisfy all the miners suddenly wanting to pull a ton of revenue out of the market.  In the past, when chains are forced to be the go to chain to mine, they've seen a massive price increase as a result.  This tends to go against common sense, but I think people likely take an investment in the coin they're going to be mining and that leads to the price going up and then profit chasers jumping in.  If this is indeed what we see for Ravencoin when ETH goes to PoS, I can imagine the price would at least 4X from it's current valuation.

Any other thoughts on the subject?

Jack Dorsey got a nice chunk of change from this Elon Musk buying Twitter ordeal.

https://fortune.com/2022/04/26/jack-dorsey-twitter-stock-ownership-net-worth-elon-musk/

With an extra quarter billion dollars in his pocket suddenly falling out of the sky, there are those asking how much he's going to be putting into Bitcoin.  I think it's a fair question given the amount of PR he does for Bitcoin.  I'm hoping we hear a big 'put your money where your mouth is' announcement from Jack soon.  Given his 11 billion dollar plus net worth and his love for Bitcoin, you'd expect him to own at least a billion dollars worth.  Currently it's estimated he owns about 300 million dollars of BTC.  That's less than 3% of his net worth.  I'm guessing that would probably put him well below the average forum user here, and I'm guessing a majority of us don't have billions of dollars of wealth sitting around.

We need billionaires to have as strong of conviction as the rest of us to send the price up another leg.  So far, even the most Bitcoin friendly billionaire still falls short.

Mine shipped yesterday Cheesy I hope to deliver by next week Cheesy

Congrats on your purchase.  Mine are still going strong and haven't had any problems.  Mining away nearly silently.

I do wonder if I should be pushing them more, since the temps seem to be very low and the fans are rarely having to spin up to cool down the units.  I have 2 of them on a 1300 watt PSU, so it seems like there's nothing keeping me from turning them up.  I'd be curious if anyone has taken them to their limits and what the effect on their efficiency is.  I think efficiency is probably the most important thing with these but if they can keep their efficiency and go higher, might as well right?
6248  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trumps’ Truth Social Media: For Freedom of Speech or Politics on: April 28, 2022, 06:34:37 PM
I was surprised to see Elon post that Truth Social was the most popular social media App on the App Store once news broke that he was buying Twitter.  I would think that the right leaning crowd would have been pleased with Elon being the new man behind Twitter, but it appears some of them were just as triggered as the opposition silencing liberals.  I guess that goes to show you that people will be mad no matter what happens.  I for one am glad that Twitter will finally be fairly moderated, which is something that is a difficult task on even the most free speech claiming platforms (including this one).
6249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: April 28, 2022, 04:15:08 PM
If I would act now, I would rather take the Bucks because IMO they are undervalued. They don't have Middleton but look how they dominated the Bulls, so I think they deserve to have at least 5.00 odds, but who am I to complain, I'll just probably take it.  Smiley

Referring to how Milwaukee Bucks dominated the Chicago Bulls is not enough. The topic is about NBA Champion and the first round of the playoffs for the Bucks just got ended. There are still 2 teams to defeat before entering the Finals. The next round for them is a tough challenge as they will face the Boston Celtics which just came from sweeping another favorite, the Brooklyn Nets.

But regardless of what team they will face, if you really believed that Milwaukee Bucks will win the title this year, just place your bet without hesitation.

If you act now, it's not 5.00 odds but more of it based on the currently provided odds.

Not having Middleton is a pretty big piece of the puzzle.  I wouldn't feel comfortable betting on them to win it all until the 76ers are out of their way and the Warriors show a dip in play.  That is with Middleton being healthy.  Right now, I think the Warriors have the edge to win it all, but there are still a lot of games left.  The last several years in the NBA it feels like the title has been decided by which team can stay healthy.  With the Bucks already facing this test, history may not be on their side.  Giannis is the most unstoppable player left in the playoffs though, so if anyone can carry their team to a Finals win, it's him.

So many liberal tears.  Actually hilarious.  One thing is for certain, there's a lot of expensive bottled water being sold today as the liberal crybabies have to replenish their lost tears.

It's amazing to me just how scared liberals are that people have free speech.  It's like they're worried that someone will ask them to define what they identify as...

On Twitter, you literally were not allowed to refer to a man as He if they said they identify as a woman.  Imagine being forced to take part in someone else's mental illness or be banned from using a service.  That's where we were before Elon.  I'm sorry, but I'm not going to take part in anyone else's delusions.  The entire idea that someone can identify as something, but then not define it is peak idiocy.

I think you'd be much better served with answers from people who have gone through this process in the Collectibles section.  I'm sure there are even how to posts in there, as well as people who may make you an offer on your coin.  If you hit the move button at the bottom of the screen, you can move it into Collectibles and get some better responses.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0

You could also lock this topic and create a new one if you wanted.  I took a quick glance to see if I could spot one of the 'how to' threads, but I didn't see one.  A quick search of that section should also help you find what you're looking for.
6252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing service on: April 28, 2022, 04:05:05 PM
I take it there are no differences in terms of security when using large or small amounts, including 0.001 BTC?

There is a massive difference in security, but most people here wouldn't be laundering enough funds to matter.  The DOJ even proved not too long ago that when people are mixing millions of dollars they can track nearly every satoshi.  These "mixing" programs aren't made to mix large amounts of funds.  They're made to profit from the nickel and dime scammers who think they need to worry about the FBI chasing down their $20 fake gift card sales schemes.  That's where the high profit margin is, and that's who their signature campaign members reach with their "scam busting" techniques, which are basically just advertising their signatures to those they want to use their service.
6253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 28, 2022, 04:01:34 PM
Two more series ended last night. Bucks managed to defeat Bulls once again by 116-100 and they ended the series successfully by 4-1. It is the same for Warriors also against Nuggets. They won another game by 102-98 and finished the job by 4-1 in total. Jokic played just great during the whole series and he was perfect in this game too. But his incredible performance with 30 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists still wasn't enough for a win here. And now we have a matchup in next round already: Bucks - Celtics. Let's see how it goes.

Bucks and Celtics should be a good series.  I am hoping for the Bucks, because I think it would be nice to see a 76ers and Bucks matchup at some point in the playoffs.  The Celtics played great against the Nets though and Jayson Taytum is on another level at the moment so it won't be as easy of a series win as I'd like it to be.  Especially considering Middleton is still dealing with injury issues last I checked.

Jokic is a great player.  Once he gets his 2 main guys back from injury for next year, I think they're going to be able to make a good run.  Injuries have really hurt this great young team and I hope they have a healthy playoff run before the team gets broken up or Jokic gets too old.

Isn't it pathetic to share private messages (emphasis on private) trying to bring up a case that's long forgotten, of a user who's left the community a year now?

I don't think so.  There are still people on these boards who support this lunatic being in the Default Trust network.  Imagine supporting someone who is a proven extortionist and still clinging to the idea that I'm the bad guy...  You'd have to be a special kind of stupid for that.

I rarely share PERSONAL MESSAGES (not private, use encryption if you want privacy) but in this case the user was extorting me privately for years and denying it.  Once he was forced to leave this place he didn't admit to any wrongdoing or remove his trust abuse, neither did his supporters.  They just pretended it never happened so I'm happy to pop up every now and then just to remind the community of how their faithful do no wrong scam busters are actually supporters of extortion and lies who only harass wannabe scammers to try and educate them how to scam without a trace using their Chipmixer signature advertisements.  Most people here probably don't realize this is why they do what they do and think they actually have good intentions.  Thinking is hard though, so I get it.
6255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 28, 2022, 05:05:39 AM
No surprise that the Bucks beat the Bulls and the Warriors beat the Nuggets to advance to the next round. I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed we’re done watching Kevin’s Durant and LeBron James play this year, but at least we’ve still got Steph and Giannis. I imagine the Bucks and Warriors will be the Finals matchup and I think the Warriors can take it so long as they can remain healthy. With Middleton struggling with injuries now, the Bucks will have a tough road ahead. That might be what the Sixers need to finally get Joel in the Finals.
6256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Crypto to the wrong address on: April 27, 2022, 05:37:29 PM
The times I've seen this happen are typically due to miscommunications during deals, either due to a language barrier, or just being too casual.  That's why with my escrows I use templates, so that it is clear to everyone where the funds are supposed to go.  One time I even had someone say that I sent funds to the wrong address, only to show them the message where they agreed that the address I sent to was where the funds should be released.  This is also a good lesson to make sure you have "backup" in case things go wrong.  Don't take liberties to send to addresses you think are owned by someone.  Confirm and make sure you have evidence in the event that person made a mistake and then wants to come back and blame you.

It was sent in PM (ask staff to verify if you don't believe)...  Has to be one of the greatest shitposts ever made on this forum.  Believe it or not, this is a real PM sent from Vod after years of trying to extort me through lies and attempts to damage my reputation, even stating I was the cause of his stroke.  Shockingly, he still has supporters on this forum after years of spreading lies and trying to raise funds from the community with the intent to disappear without a trace, which he did as soon as the police began investigating his activity (it should be noted that I never reported Vod to the police, it was another forum member who was also being harassed).  I think it's pretty clear who was shitposting for years now.  I'm still awaiting that 100 million dollar lawsuit...  Enjoy the laugh.  Smiley

Matthew:  “I have to actual justify my statements based on real quotes from you to avoid potential lawsuits, like when I say you’re a pedophile.

Real Martin Quote:  “Is your real life identity known?  I have a lot more to lose than you do by exposing someone.

After trying to help me, and being rewarded for eventually forcing me out of the bitcointalk marketplace, I expected an offer since you admitted your liability above.

Your lies contributed to a stroke and I even lost my ability to speak about it for a while when you were sending messages to my Facebook friends on my birthday and taunting me on the forum.

I’m now able to tell what happened, and I am preparing the story and a very public $100M lawsuit, which will be broken down as follows:
$10M to me to help with the handicapped living expenses you caused.
Punitive damages:
$50M donation to the heart and stroke foundation / anti-pedophile organizations.
$20M to fund micro projects and finish my project of spreading Cypto to those who need it.
$20M for a legal fund to reimburse the people you and your partners have scammed.
Hopefully it will lead to other lawsuits.

Your defense is so simple:  Post the imaginary message I sent you outing myself as a pedophile, which you claimed I did over a dozen times.

I am transferring my blockchain investigations on the actual numbers of hundreds of millions you three embezzled/laundered and focusing my fundraising on public awareness for your actions in covering it up.   Why do you three believe sex with children shouldn’t be reported to the police?  Did you guys actually bully Zepher to overdose death like you tried with me?  Did you pay taxes on any of your scammed bitcoin?  How many people are harassing you daily, Matthew?   Is it because you make fun of handicapped people?

I’m offering you a one time settlement to pay for my expenses, suffering and lost income/profits  – $5,000,000 – a very generous offer from a successful inventor like me and this environment I was recognized and trusted in.

You have until Aug 13 end of day EST to speak to your partners Micheal and Steven, who are co-defendants in my lawsuit, and have your lawyers email me; I’ll connect them to my lawyer without any conversation.  I’m sending this private message instead of a public one as one last undeserved courtesy.  Everyone can believe you won and I will live the rest of my life in peaceful retirement as I deserve.  Your alternative is to spend millions on lawyers (and 5-10 years in court) and LOSE, which will not affect me in the slightest as my lawyer will work on contingency.  Do you think the courts will be as easily deflected as these bitcointalk users?

Govern yourself accordingly, bozo.

Oh yea don't get me wrong I think this would be pretty cool and worth doing.  The only things I worry about at times is people not understanding the risks with these collectibles.  I even see way too many people here who are recklessly trusting.  So if this was set up, I think a big presentation board explaining the potential risks that come with these coins would be a smart/responsible thing to do.

This is a very good point.  I've seen some pretty crazy shit in my life over amounts of money that these days most of us would consider pocket change.  The idea of putting a ton of extremely valuable collectibles in one place like this, especially as amateurs seems like the worst idea of all time.  Granted it would be awesome, up until everything gets robbed at gunpoint because the 2 $15/hr rent a cops didn't want to face a dozen men armed with AK47s.

If proper precautions were taken, then I imagine the security costs would be so enormous that we as a community would be better served using that money for other purposes, like helping the poor or in a more selfish use, helping promote Bitcoin.

Maybe someone should make a bunch of knock-offs so the museum is full of worthless items that are indistinguishable behind glass from the real thing.  Normies wouldn't know, or care, I promise.

What is with New York? They want to control how much soda you can buy and what energy type you’re allowed to use for what… Can you imagine if that government was controlling the entire country? I’m betting they’d love to get people on CBDCs that can be programmed so they can force you to spend money the way they want you to. It’s scary when you consider how they’re going to use universal income to get everyone to basically willingly walk into slavery via regular bribes under the guise of income provided to help everyone live happier lives…

Where are people watching these Esporting events. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one televised but I know they’re extremely popular. Are people watching these types of events on social media live feeds or is there a website that broadcasts such events. The only Esports platform I’m aware of is twitch and that seems like more of a personal video game streaming platform. So I’m wondering, let’s say I wanted to watch the next big event. How would I find it to watch and where would I get more information about it?
