6301  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 🦉 DRAKE x STAKE 🥩 - Watford FC & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: March 06, 2022, 11:03:12 PM
This is crazy news. Drake x Stake… Every time I see it I just can’t believe how far crypto has come. I can only imagine all of the partnerships and advertising opportunities that are being planned for the future. With sports stadiums being named after companies in the space now, I have to wonder how long it will be before professional sports teams in the NBA, NFL, NHL, or MLB start being purchased by crypto companies. The only concern is how much bigger of an endorsement can you get than Drake? Where do you grow from there?
6302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you know when to sell? on: March 06, 2022, 08:19:56 PM
Do you have any pattern that you see or watch in the market to determine time to sell your hodlings and take your profit ?

Do you regret not selling your coins at any point because you didn't know it will drop ?

I tend to think that when you get the urge to brag about your investments to people, it's probably time to cash them out.  This is true with many things, but especially with crypto.  You can even look to influencers.  When you see them talking about how rich they are and how easy it is to make money doing something, the cat is out of the bag and it's time to run screaming.

I can't think of any coins I regret not selling.  I can think of a few I do regret selling.  I owned some BNB early on and sold it for a tiny gain.  Had I held and staked it then I probably would have made a fortune.  Same with ETH.  I was mining it early on but selling it immediately for Bitcoin.  This surely cost me a great deal of missed gains.  The coins I'm holding I don't regret holding though.  I bought them for a reason and am receiving interest on nearly all of them coins I've purchased, so to me they're doing their job and when I'm ready to sell if the price has fallen to the point where I'm in the red, maybe I'll wish I didn't lose money.  Patience usually solves that problem though.
6303  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: March 06, 2022, 08:13:11 PM
Whenever I get an order that includes one of these 2oz silver coins and get to bust them out to do some engraving, I realize just how awesome these 2oz rounds are.  They really are my favorite coin that I've made.  The design and size are perfect for this application.  If you don't own one, I'd consider scooping one up to see for yourself.  There's a reason why this was the design that was chosen for the 4oz platinum and 4oz gold rounds (and the fact that the size made it a perfect fit).  While not everyone wants to drop down the $ for the 4oz platinum version, it is nearly indistinguishable from this 2oz silver version, so if you squint you can't even really tell the difference other than the weight.  Just tell yourself it's platinum.  Smiley
6304  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Russia goes full Bitcoin adoption on: March 06, 2022, 07:38:43 PM
I think if Russia were to go full Bitcoin we would see regulation step up in ways we had only toyed with being reality.  The freezing of accounts would become normal around the world (more than it already has become).  You never know how regulators would step up to combat this type of thing, but you can bet it would hurt Bitcoiners around the world.  Sure, maybe Bitcoin would end up winning and show it's resilience, but I'm betting many innocent people would be jailed, have their lives ruined, and their life savings confiscated as a result.  Rather than provoke regulators and the legacy financial system, we should hope to keep growing without aiding war efforts.

satoshi once said that donating to wikileaks was kicking the hornets nest...  Russia adopting it to avoid sanctions and commit acts of war would be like pissing on the hornets nest naked and covered in honey while a bear had it's paw in the nest.
6305  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and MimbleWimble on: March 06, 2022, 07:34:36 PM
I recently came across an article about Litecoin implementing MimbleWimble which I believe was planned for BTC for a couple of years now.

So I'm curious, do you guys have any information about when to expect this upgrade and whether there are some other (maybe better) privacy protocols on the work?

And for those who are unfamiliar with MimbleWimble:

Moreover, Mimblewimble combines cryptographic protocols such as Confidential Transactions (CTs), CoinJoin, Dandelion, and Cut-Through to achieve a higher level of security and anonymity. In general, these protocols help conceal transaction information.

Mimblewimble has been the targeted privacy protocol since it was brought to the community's attention back in 2013.  I can't even imagine the amount of work that has gone into it since that time.  Other coins have taken advantage of this technology in the past with success, so I think it could be a huge step forward for Bitcoin progress and maybe even the biggest update we've had in 5 years as far as increasing value of the network.  I'm excited about this advancement and have been waiting for it for quite some time.  In 2016 it became clear that this was coming, but I'm always shocked at the amount of work that goes into these sorts of things before Bitcoin assimilates the tech.
6306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Base Value of Goods and Services To Bitcoin? on: March 06, 2022, 07:30:34 PM
Now if we all want to make Bitcoin the standard. Right now sure you can use Bitcoin to buy goods and services with. However all goods and services value and price are based by some sort of Fiat.

How do we go about to determine Good and Services value entirely on Bitcoin?

over FIAT

this could take a very long time to make happen.

What methods do you think this could happen?

Bitcoin is an absolutely horrible mechanic for pricing things over time.  This is due to it's extremely limited supply and constant price volatility.  Outside of crashing currencies destroyed by hyperinflation, Bitcoin is the worst "currency" you could use to measure the price of an object over time.  The chart of seemingly every item in the world looks the exact same when denominated in Bitcoin over the last 10 years.  This is because the value is more effected by the price movement of Bitcoin then anything happening to the price of the underlying object being priced.

I don't think there are methods that could make this useful or that it should be something we should even attempt.  Many Bitcoiners think the price will continue rising against the dollar forever, and if that's the case then Bitcoin will be a bad metric for valuing price over the long term, forever.
6307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Exercise some patience for now on: March 06, 2022, 07:22:44 PM
Still planning on getting yourself those shiny GPUs because the price are down 11% well now isn't a good time to buy graphic cards.

1. The main reason why you should wait is because price are dropping and by the mid of this year gpu price will be better, since February some GPUs even go way down to 15% , at one point the shortage will end.

2. New generations of GPUs are on the way, by second half of the year I'm expecting AMD RX7000 to launch, for Nvidia the RTX4**** are coming.

3. Before RX7000 and RTX4*** gets here the Intel Alchemist GPUs are on the way which they promised huge amount of supply.

All you need to do is have some more patience I believe this will pay off.

I agree with your analysis.  There is also the summer approaching and nobody wants extra heat when they're already having to cool their home down (for home miners).  Waiting until after summer could mean a newer generation graphics card for cheaper, without it being used, and instead of paying to cool the cards for the summer you'll be enjoying their heat for the winter.  With graphics card prices plummeting and the supply chain issues still being worked through as a new generation of cards is about to hit the market, now would seemingly be the obvious time to wait.  If that will end up being the smart thing, we'll have to wait and see.  Crypto is always full of surprises.
6308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.9d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: March 06, 2022, 07:20:29 PM
im still using 5.4c version for my old polaris cards.
@phoenix is there any update to add ETH+TON or ETH+ALPH or ETC+TON Smiley

i stopped using phoenix because lack of dual
hoping i can go back to phoenix
please and thanks

Does dual mining really increase rewards that much?  I have always avoided it because the one time I did try, I found that mining a single chain actually produced better results.  Has the tech improved and everyone should be dual mining now, or are there certain cards where this makes sense while others do not?  I'm genuinely curious because all of the miners seem to have dual mining options these days, yet I can't seem to figure out how this would be beneficial when I consider my own results (admittedly a long time ago).  If anyone has any information or a resource to help me learn more about dual mining and if it is worth it, I would be appreciative.  Thanks!
6309  Economy / Services / Re: [HIRING] - Developer! - Scrape web data and post it on Telegram bot. on: March 06, 2022, 07:18:16 PM
Hopefully title explains all that I need. Payment will be made in USDT on the Tron Network. Please send me your Telegram or Discord username for more information. If you have any precious work done that you can show me that is a plus.

Scammers should stay away, my account here is new but forget about scamming me as you won't be able to and are going to waste my time.

Can you be more specific about what exactly you're looking for the Telegram bot to post?  There are so many bots out there already, I find it almost hard to believe that what you want doesn't already exist or something similar that could be modded to fit your needs.  There are a lot of Telegram communities out there of people hungry to use their skills to help create useful bots.  You might be able to get what you need for free by posting your wishes in a Telegram community.  Ironically, using Telegram would probably find you what you're looking for there rather quickly.

Anyway, more information is always helpful.  Smiley
6310  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA will also suffer. on: March 06, 2022, 07:13:49 PM
The suffering is already being felt at gas pumps around the nation.  I'm seeing as high as $7/gallon gasoline.  Weren't we just paying $2 a couple years ago?  Between the insane money printing to "fight" covid and our president seemingly not having a clue, inflation is running away at a pace I haven't seen in my lifetime.  Meanwhile the folks in charge keep lying to our faces about inflation being transitory and caused by everything except their mismanagement of funds and ever increasing debts.  At this point, I don't believe the politicians are stupid enough to not see what is happening, yet they're continuing to do things like shut down pipelines and let oil drilling leases go unused.  It seems clear that inflation is their goal and they won't stop until the middle class is gone and the lower class is completely dependent upon them for housing and food.
6311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What websites you use for live scores? on: March 06, 2022, 07:04:59 PM
I use the Yahoo! Sports app on my phone.  Not only does it give you up to date scores for all the major sports, but it also livestreams games quite frequently.  Additionally, you also have all of the team and individual player statistics available to you.  There are even play by play updates throughout games if you are unable to watch.  I've downloaded several sports apps over the years, but this is the one that I keep using regularly.

I also use NBA.com sometimes when I just want to see a quick box score or find some updates about teams with the latest news articles.  I used to really like the Fox Sports website, but their last update made a mess of what they had going there.
6312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: March 06, 2022, 07:02:26 PM
"Desperation." Said Lebron James while being interviewed.
Yes, I think that's the right word for it, and what better team to win a game is against a struggling Warriors. Lebron put a show with 56 points 6/11 behind the arc. He almost did it all because they badly need a win after their long streak of losses.

Yes, if I'm not mistaken, this is the most points that Lebron score as a Laker so it's a big accomplished. And superstars like him, come up big in crucial time as they are really on the desperation and needed a break and for sure they are very happy to win a game. So whether they build a momentum with this huge win or goes back to losing again, it's up to Lebron again.

Not just the most points LeBron has had as a Laker, but it also ties the most points scored by any player this season (Trae Young also had 56 this season).  Definitely a dominant game.  He was working hard in the paint all night.  I don't think he'll be able to keep that up the rest of the season and stay healthy.  It was great seeing him fight for rebounds.  There were a few times where he didn't make it back on defense though because he was too tired.  This was the sort of fatigue that Russell Westbrook is supposed to inflict on the other team...  I think the Lakers made a mistake not grabbing Boogie as a free agent.  It's clear Anthony Davis isn't going to be healthy for any long stretches.  They could have used another dominant big man to help Dwight Howard out.
6313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: March 06, 2022, 03:51:27 AM
LeBron is putting on a show right now against the Warriors. He is playing center tonight and already has 51 points with 6 minutes left. Westbrook playing well tonight also. This is the Lakers play they need to be winning games. It looks like this game is going to come down to the wire and I wouldn’t put it past LeBron to try and go for 60. It’s turning into a three point contest, so the Lakers might have their work cut out for them… I’d get to a TV if you can to see the end of this one.
6314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "Bitcoin" vs "bitcoin" | Do we know the difference? on: March 05, 2022, 09:12:20 PM
I was browsing the forum and found a thread to read but was surprised to see the ads from the forum adslot which was containing this text-
"The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC."

We are using B/b when writing "Bitcoin/bitcoin" frequently but without knowing the system.

Wondering how this clarification has come. Is it a rule of English? Or rule set by someone to differentiate the difference between about we are actually talking about.

So, basically, I will say "I have 0.001 bitcoin", I have to use the lowercase "b" while if I say, "There are nodes which have the copy of Bitcoin transaction record from the beginning.", I have to use uppercase "B".

I had no idea. All these days, I was only using randomly lol.

The difference is pretty simple.  Bitcoin is a technology.  When you're discussing Bitcoin you would capitalize it.  If you're just talking about how many bitcoins you own, then no capitalization is necessary.

Example.  I love Bitcoin but I wish I had more bitcoins.  I'm no English major, so I don't know the specific terms or anything, but it's not exactly a complex subject to master.  I guess an easy way to remember would be that Bitcoin as a technology is amazing and worthy of capitalization, while nobody cares how many bitcoins you have, so while describing them you need not worry about capitalization.
6315  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Biggest Loser Raffle] 1oz .999 Silver Bitcoin Binary Round on: March 05, 2022, 09:06:52 PM
We've still got 4 spots left for those who want to try their luck and avoid being the biggest loser.  There's only a 1/16th chance that you'll have to pay anything, so it's mostly about participating and having fun together.  Don't miss out on your potion of the fun.  Smiley

Those that are on the fence, I'm curious why you don't want to participate.  Is it because the prize is too cheap or expensive?  Is it because of the lack of international shipping?  Do you not like having fun?   Tongue

Feedback is always great.  I'd love to keep doing fun stuff like this more regularly and see about changing things up to find that perfect formula of fun and providing something useful to people.  If you think that's a good idea then grab a slot!  No limit if you want more than 1.  It can't cost you more than the $44 no matter how many spots you take.
6316  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin blockchain data APIs on: March 05, 2022, 09:02:22 PM
I'm working on a personal project that requires fetching bitcoin balances for many addresses at once so I've been looking at APIs that provide this data.

I have to wonder why you'd require this?  Surely you could scrape data from block explorers to get this information without the need of an API (although there are plenty out there).  I guess my concern is that you're doing something like generating tons of addresses and checking to see if any of them have a balance (my apologies if my assumption is way off).  This is the sort of thing that is not only a total waste of time, but bogs down free services that others may be using for legitimate reasons.  Again, I'm not accusing you of anything nefarious, but if you are planning to waste electricity generating billions of addresses to check for balances with a free service, I would urge you to reconsider as it has no upside.
6317  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin's last images are not in a palace, but in a bunker like room on: March 05, 2022, 08:57:09 PM
It isn't uncommon to assume that a president would be moved to a "war room" in the event war breaks out.  I'm sure Putin had his location safeguarded and secured long before this started.  I would be more surprised if during a time of war he wasn't in hiding.  Surely there are teams of Ukrainians with the goal of ending this war through whatever means possible.  Assassinating Putin would seemingly fall into that category, so I don't expect he'll be giving public speeches to crowds of people anytime soon.  Even after such an event that has the world so angry I can't imagine him returning to normal.  This will likely have a lasting impact on his whereabouts for the remainder of his life.  Although I'm sure people thought the same things about George Bush.
6318  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Watches on: March 05, 2022, 08:52:22 PM
That HODLSMITH watch is awesome.  I'm not a watch guy but I must say that is one of the prettier things I've seen in the crypto market.  It's easy to see why it's your favorite.  The coin alone in it is worth nearly half a million dollars now.  That has to make it one of the more expensive watches on the planet.  Not to mention the cool factor.  I couldn't imagine actually wearing so much value around on your wrist, but I guess if you have the money to spend on a flex piece like that, you probably have a security detail following you around making sure nothing crazy happens.  I wonder what the stories are from people who have purchased and owned that watch.  Seems like purchasing it when it came out could have been a life changing exchange.
6319  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Silver Cas Tenth (0.1) MS-70 on: March 05, 2022, 08:48:29 PM
You have any interest in non-graded coins or does it have to be MS-70?  What sort of price are you offering?  It would be nice to have a ballpark figure on these wanting to buy threads.  I'm sure everyone on this board would want to buy a Casascius coin at some price.  A ballpark figure would at least make it known whether a deal was worth exploring or not.

Feel free to reach out to me via PM if you'd take a chance on a non-graded Silver Casascius Tenth and let me know what price you're looking to pay.  Thanks and good luck with your search!
6320  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Most Popular Crypto Casino & Sportsbook - Watford & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: March 05, 2022, 08:44:40 PM
I was surprised to see Stake being discussed on the latest Full Send podcast.  They were talking to Kodak Black about how Drake gave him $250,000 worth of Bitcoin after his Super Bowl win on Stake.com.  Pretty cool...  They were also talking a lot about the metaverse, specifically the Sandbox.  I get a little scared when I see celebrities talking about how they're going to make so much money off the Sandbox.  Feels like peak value type of stuff.  Still, very cool to see celebrities venturing into our crypto world with NFTs and now sponsorship by crypto companies.  I'm not sure if the Sandbox is going to be the next big thing or if it's being raped for it's value by celebrities now, but it seems like there's going to be a lot of excitement coming down the line for all of us crypto fans as it continues to be thrust into the mainstream.
