Coins will always be safe, even if the pool needs a reboot or something. There has yet to be a single coin of any kind lost on either pool

Were anything to happen in the future, feel safe knowing we have deep enough pockets to cover any and all losses out of our own stash
6322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Maieuticoin | 2014% PoS | STAKING HARDWARE WALLET - Batch 2 Raffles! on: January 06, 2015, 09:21:49 AM
The backlog page for the pool has been updated.  If your payout amount is blue, and would like your coins, please PM me with your address, and your coins will be sent.

Check your addresses, miners!

I have read some of these recent posts, and feel I must jump in.... encrypting the wallet does not guarantee you against loss!   I sense in some of the emails that we feel safe if the wallet is encrypted.  NOT TOTALLY.   I was a victim who had the wallet encrypted, and lost all my Maieuti coins, because apparently a keylogger read my password when I unlocked the wallet for staking... or somehow at least, the thief was able to transfer all my M coins to his wallet, even though mine was encrypted.

We have to be more vigilant, less trusting, unfortunately.   PLEASE don't rely on encryption alone!!

don't you have some old backup of unecrypted wallet somewhere on disk?

this happened to me once
i keep my password on removeable usb stick and i copy and paste all mine

Many malicious programs also have the ability to record clipboard contents

Pst...we had cloud staking for MMXIV like 8 months ago. Anything he says is a lie lol

(It's also extremely insecure. He will get "robbed," most likely by himself)

Welcome aboard. The real money is in MMXIV  Wink

6327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I Am Getting Out of Bitcoin on: January 06, 2015, 01:29:16 AM
I feel Bitcoin is taking a big hit and people are getting bored with it. Mining is not profitable what so ever, people keep selling out, it seems the Rise and Rise of Bitcoin is turning into the Fall and Fall of Bitcoin. I am getting completely out of Bitcoin and transitioning to something more promising for the future. Some alternatives that have caught my attention are: Ripple & Stellar.

Whats your guys opinion about Bitcoin? Are you guys getting out and transitioning also? What other currencies are you looking into?

Unobtanium adresses the problem bitcoin has with the constant sellpressure.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.0

and it's trustless and without premine - not like ripple a gamble on what the central authority decides to do next.

Uno is on a longterm uptrend since last July.

You guys must be doing amazing if you have to post in every thread about it. These people want to dump on unsuspecting buyers that do no research. Be wary of such drivel

None. Just staking now  Wink

The post seems like they have it under control. I've never used them, but if that post is accurate, it's a good update

I think I can, unfortunately, retract this post  Sad

If anyone was affected, I hope everything turns out ok. Just let this be a reminder that in addition to Gox, nobody in Bitcoin will ever be too big to fail. No matter what coins you are holding, please secure your wealth at a local level as diligently as possible

Quick update on the staking hardware wallet
Batch 2 is complete! The final test phase has gone well and we are just about ready to start unleashing these to the public. However! Before we open up sales for batch 2, we are going to be raffling off a few. Some people have been asking us to bring the S3 Raffle back and do an S5, but I think we will do a few for our specialized devices

The price per entry will be 1 MMXIV and we will be picking multiple winners. The format this time will be a little different than past raffles

More information very soon

One quick point of clarification...the price when we do open sales for batch 2 will be a static amount of MMXIV that will be updated periodically. We will not base the price of these units on either BTC or USD. Their price will be pegged only to MMXIV

People don't realize massive merchant adoption is a double edged sword. When they all dump straight to fiat to pay salaries, bills, etc., this is what happens
6333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Snowballs | 1000% Stake | Win FREE BALLS with the in-Qt Trivia Game! | on: January 05, 2015, 10:26:43 PM
I, too, am sorry for your loss.

I will add, that just because the wallet scans "clean" with VirusTotal, AVG or whatever other antivirus you use, does *NOT* mean it's safe.

As iGotSpots said, devs can put anything they want into the client.  It could be just a few lines of code that steal every wallet on your PC, and it would never be detected by antivirus software.  Always encrypt your wallets, don't run them with RPC open if you don't have to, and always start out new wallets on a separate machine from your "main" PC where all your digital wealth is stored.

This is the best advice anyone can give
6334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Maieuticoin | 2014% PoS | STAKING HARDWARE WALLET - Batch 2 Raffles! on: January 05, 2015, 10:22:57 PM
Does 2014% take into account the compounding of the stake? For example, if I have 1 M coin on Jan 1, will I have 21.14 on Dec 31 or will I have more than that because of compounding?

The money supply is 8067 at the moment. I don't know what it was when 2014% stake was started, but if known it would be easy enough to determine if that is approximately correct. We can maybe estimate how many coins are destroyed by transfer fees, that is the only unknown. However to me, the money supply figure appears to be roughly correct.

2014% of you initial deposit. Each stake is treated as its own and has a separate 2014% yearly. It also splits if needed, so for example (and if you stake on schedule):

Day 1: Stake 10 x 1
Day 2: Stake 5 x 2
Day 3: Stake 2.5 x 4
Day 4: Stake 1.25 x 8

etc, etc, while maintaining the same total daily output

I'm new to MMXIV, but not to high PoS. I have accumulated what I have over the past 7-8 days. The stakes from the last 4 days or so are maybe one coin, where I should be getting 4+...so, you say this will catch up?

That is too little information to answer the question. What was the original balance that you deposited? If you don't want to post it, that's fine, but I can't answer specifics without knowing how much you should be staking
6336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Snowballs | Do you have BALLS for a ROLLERCOASTER!? | HARD FORK - UPDATE!! on: January 05, 2015, 09:57:38 PM
Caution!!! everybody that did not encrypted wallet. Theft stolen my ball for 7k from my address to this address ShH2xQzp3NRTKuNNDfcjKjZ6yXSjMJN6H6 and huge amount 20k of my quotient. I think possible malware from suspecious wallet that allow hacker control my pc.

The transaction was http://balls.blockexplorer.cc/tx/a7a71945be51bfe6b40290dbd5beca9df525961ccb35c5f2b8ce1f630ffe5310#o0

Don't forget to encrypt your wallet with passphrase and unlock for only minitng.
Same here (today morning access from Teamviewer)), stolen 24025 SnowBalls to address ShH2xQzp3NRTKuNNDfcjKjZ6yXSjMJN6H6 .
http://balls.blockexplorer.cc/address/ShH2xQzp3NRTKuNNDfcjKjZ6yXSjMJN6H6

Also:

MMXIV 8.85 + 0.038138 to MoAgNxLWss74qiwP55RjUBgkHDyqa9nNoc
http://mmxiv.blockexplorer.cc/a/MoAgNxLWss

SterlingCoin, Squarebit, VpnCoin, Qoutient, Myriad an etc.

Then from My PC (Enter my Teamviewer account) go to two friends in the list and stole all coins too. One of friends see activity with mouse and close Teamviewer but too late.

That really sucks. Everyone needs to start taking their local security very seriously. Please stop downloading clients from unreputable sources. Every client you download from someone that is not trusted is just asking for this to happen. There are a lot of smart people here and, unfortunately, some of them use their knowledge maliciously. These people can put anything they want into the client, knowing people will blindly download it. Please...I feel for your loss, but everyone has to be very careful and extremely diligent on securing your personal wealth. Don't rely on anything except your own judgement. This is not the first time a client has allowed access via TeamViewer, and unfortunately, I'm sure it won't be the last as long as people keep jumping the gun and downloading garbage

I very highly suggest an immediate backing up of important data, reformat, and starting your OS from scratch, or this will continue to happen

Thank you to mortimer452 for coins you have sent, cheers!

And dev ---> MjH9b6WYkKhj6ZNBe2aZ9D1KRrUdEN2PiG ---> I stake 24/7 but my return is nowhere near 2014%, what must I do to collect the full amount? This is not a one-time event. Thanks for your help to clear this up  Smiley

2014% a year is roughly 5.5% a day. If you are nonstop staking, I guarantee you will average out

Regardless of the raffle, how do I sign up for one of the staking devices?  Thanks

The units are finally complete. We will be opening sales after the raffles are done. Remember, you only need one Snowball to stake both BALLS and MMXIV on the same device

Hi Igotspots i was checking my wallet in blockexplorer to see my wallet transactions. What is see 0 balance but my wallet there are spendable coins whats happening?

Wallets can have many addresses. Each address is separate on the exporer

ive watched my both adresses each balance 0 in the blockeplorer (have 2adresses)
I hope it doesn't affect my staking

http://mmxiv.blockexplorer.cc/address/MjkGktsMjkbf9wXJJWwqXd9jXyTan3DKbs
http://mmxiv.blockexplorer.cc/address/MpfZ7rAnxsuBixLxdUQdBYi5G7mS87Pc5x

balance both 0 help me out my panick Smiley

I Think i know whats the issue.. i think i have accidantly press on custome change adress could that be the issue?

Okay I got it sorry for bothering bro

Ok, I have finally been able to replicate your issue. If you can find which address it changed to:

dumpprivkey <address>
You will get the private key here, aka x
importprivkey <x>
Now you should see Error adding key to wallet (code -4) - This is because, technically, you are trying to add an address that is already there

However, the address should now be in your "receive" tab. How this will affect staking is unknown, but it's a quick workaround to ease your mind
