My frustration is BIG.

You are not late to the party, the problem is that the party before was about beer, and now is got many coctails to choose from...

Basically, becoming a millonaire is now a bit more dificult Tongue

I think the best partners Smiley
Because it give additional advertisement! If for example Vitalik Buterin said something about this project that mean project will be successful!

Same here! Partners is very complex "index". It includes all other aspects. Good partners mean that the progect has reliable team with great idea, community and so on.

Strategic partners are normally those that can give you an advantage over competition, such as access to a market, a patented technology a resource that is difficult to find, etc...

I agree with you, for now partner is a very important thing owned by a project.
with a partner will increase the confidence of the investors to a project especially if they are partners that they have is a media / project is great as well.

So, for you since Vitalik is behind Ten-X that justifies the current cap of the token?
6325  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex wants my credentials, where is crypto anonymity?! on: October 14, 2017, 08:50:03 PM

6326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin future on: October 14, 2017, 08:43:17 PM
Investment in altcoins are riskier than ever. Bitcoin is providing a consistence rise while Altcoin whose price are relative to bitcoins can have much more unpredictable fluctuations.
It would be better to join a rising coin than aspecting one to rise.

Resilience? He is looking for growth. How much growth is left on bitcoin? x4? x10?....much faster to choose an alt and make x10 in a week

6329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its that time again, what altcoin are you holding at a loss? on: October 13, 2017, 12:13:45 PM
that is why Stop-Loss was invented Cheesy

you either use some kind of automation to place stop loss orders or you just do it yourself when you reach your limit. for example if the altcoin you have invested in loses 5% you dump it before it grows bigger. that way you prevent huge losses like 60% that someone mentioned above!

You are quite right. I am not an speculator, I am in for the long term and only buy ALTs that I consider have a viable project and value proposition, but if it goes down 10 or 15% it is not a bad idea to sell and buy later on.
6330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / For what you know... which ICO out there has the best... on: October 12, 2017, 07:59:09 PM
Which ICO out there has, in your view...

a) The best IDEA

b) The best TEAM

c) The best MARKET

d) The best PARTNERS

e) The best PLAN

6331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What encourages you to invest in any altcoin? on: October 12, 2017, 11:48:08 AM
I am a crypto enthusiastic and i know a 90% of people here on bitcointalk are as well.
There are a lot of altcoins in the market today. What should one look out for before investing in any altcoin

There is very little difference between investing in ALT and any venture capital investment due-diligence. The very very basics of this are well know to be:

Idea - it is NOT the most important for success, but if you do not believe in it o you don´t really know about it... discard.
Market - Sufficient, rechable, potentially very large and unnatended.
Team - this one is CRITICAL. It is particullarly important that at leas one or two members have already launched a startup very successfully. Think of Elon Musk.
Partnerships - Including investors, clients, researchers, advisors..
Funding - Most companies die for lack of funding. It they tell you they a have 1 million and a team of 10, they won´t last a year or they are not doing much.
Legal - In general regulatory risk and also clarity on WHAT are you buying (rights, software, licenses, real state, ....)
Technological - Sometimes is simply not possible.

There are many other considerations of course.
6332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: October 12, 2017, 11:40:25 AM

ETH the token has little value. It's been promoted as a "world super computer" that can run DAPPS, smart contracts, a currency, DAOs and useful to banks. Even someone with basic technology understanding knows that a decentralized system 100s if not 1000s of times slower than a cell phone will never be capable of all that. The recent failures during ICOs demonstrate just how slow a decentralized system really is. A decentralized system might do one thing well (like being a currency) but, it will never be capable of doing a multitude of functions. If there was ever a popular DAPP ETH would slow to a crawl and the DAPP would be of no use.

Ethereum is a continuously evolving experiment. This means that there will be failures, there will be forks and there will be scams. But due to having a strong influetial group of developers behind and a strong community it can and will evolve. Either that, or die trying.

But, to the point, the Ethereum community and particularly the main developers know that for wider adoption this network needs to be cheaper (and thus PoS) and quicker. I am sure these issues are going to be addressed properly, being my doubt if it may be surpassed by newer criptos.

I am investing in Ethereum middle term because I don´t stake what I cannot afford to loose and I confortable with high risk as long as a high reward is possible.

6334  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Lightning Network on: October 11, 2017, 12:14:53 PM

6335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your top ICO for November? on: October 10, 2017, 06:28:26 PM
Privatix, Opporty, gladius seems like a good project which have not yet stated the ICO. Wepower have a good team will close its ICO in november.

I would definetly not go for WePower. They claim to have contracts to build solar plants in Spain. Just do some research and you´ll find out is bad, bad, bad idea.
6336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Any experiences with nanopool? on: October 10, 2017, 04:33:59 PM
It's not Bitcoin so doesn't belong here.

Is this not Pools->Altcoin?

Seriously, if you have nothing to offer there is no need to even reply.
6337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Let the market put the price trap on: October 10, 2017, 11:01:59 AM
I am kind of astonished by the "let the market put the price" strategy followed on some ICOs. Precisely, when I was reading the Dragonchain ICO the conditions seem to be the following:

- There is no cap to the contributions.
- There is a limited number of tokens.
- The tokens would be distributed among all participants as per they percentual contribution.

Example: 5 users put 1, 2 ,7, 1, and 4 USD each. Since there are (let say), 1500 tokens, they receive 100, 200, 700, 100 and 400 tokens each.

However, as an investor, I cannot really determine how much am I paying, how much is the total valuation of the company nor how much of a stake I am going to get since I do not know the contribution of others. There is no way on earth I am going to invest without knowing these 3 thing.

Am I missing something or is just an evident scam?

6338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your top ICO for November? on: October 10, 2017, 07:48:17 AM
I like Astronaut. Well, I like everything but the name  Tongue

It is an ICO by a group of guys that would be investing it in ICOs, short of a tokenised investment fund. The team are currently publishing small reports on ICOs and it seems that at least they have more time than I to do some diligences and research on incoming ICOs.

It is not just about finding a great idea... 90% of the ICOs have a good idea behind, the problem is that I do not have time to investigate the teams, partners, main investors, if their code exists and is solid... So I thought that I would put some coin into this one.

Still ongoing...

6339  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Viable to mine in the UK? on: October 09, 2017, 11:04:05 PM
Heya, I've been checking up on some BTC mining, and my power cost is currently 0.12p per kWh, and the projected profit for the S9 on Nicehash has been taunting me.
However, will a power cost this high end up costing me a loss before I can pay back the cost of the S9? I've got around £3000 saved, so I can buy a miner and invest the rest? Is this wise? Right now I'd be making more profit with the S9 than a more expensive GPU mining rig.
I'm just giving my circumstances to receive any advice you guys would have, any other UK miners out there?

I live in the UK. The only thing that makes mining profitable for me is that the electricity is dissipated as heat and winter is comming. Or more clearly if you want, What I spend on electricty I save it in heating.
6340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The ICO atlas on: October 09, 2017, 10:33:56 PM
I am exploring the ICO market from a middle to long term investor perspective. This implies that I am examining a few ICOs every week not as much with the idea of making a quick Euro, but rather to hold my position for a couple of years.

INVESTORS 101

If you have attended any Entrepreneurship course, MBA or even a foUr hour chat with someone knowledgeable you can skip a few paragraphs, if not  you need to know that middle to long term success is usually related to the following factors:

1 – The idea. Contrary to Noobs intuition, there are millions of good ideas. A good idea is only 10% of what a project need for success. Also, contrary to intuition, rather than keeping an idea secret for no particular reason, sometimes is much better to mature it with other people.
2 – The team. Even a mediocre idea can produce good results if the right people are behind it. The right team is 30% of the success. This is particularly true if one or more members have already achieved success on previous endeavours.
3 – The partnerships.  This can be 20 to 50% of a successful project. Partners can be investors, suppliers, clients, advisors,…
4 – Planning and execution. A correct execution is easily 30 to 40 % of a successful startup.
5 - The funding. Oh… so many ships did not reach the promised land because they run out of fuel just when they were almost there.
Well, it seem that when people hear “ICO” forget about all this and, instead, believe that if it is a token it can´t go wrong. But, just as the path to summit of mount Chomolungma (AKA Everest) is full of dead bodies,  Ethereum´s blockchain is going to be full of ERC20 compliant corpses.

TO THE POINT
This is the first page of this ICO Atlas and deal with THE IDEA (AKA Value Proposition, sometimes AKA Business Model).  Unless you have been on a 3 year trip to the most remote region of the Amazonian jungle, it is likely that you can help me with this.

Clasification by type:

A)   Pure criptocurrency
A.1 – With a fast network
A.2 – With cheap transaction fees
A.3 – Very secure
A.4 – With additional programmable characteristics (i.e. Solidity or others).
4.5 – With anonymous transactions
B)   Tokenization of physical assets
a.   Real state
b.   Gold, diamonds,..
c.   Energy or utilities
d.   Other
C)   Tokenization of digital assets
a.   Music
b.   Files
c.   Other
D)   Tokenization of services.
a.   Software that offer services
E)   APIs and software
E.1 Token services / ICO subscription services.
E.2 Programming APIs or graphical interfaces
F)   Tokenization of investment in a Startup
F.1 – Unrelated to blockchain tech other than the tokens. Uses the traction of ICOs for a purpose unrelated to the distributed ledger ecosystems.
F.2 – Related to blockchain technology

Shall we grow and improve this classification? Which of these have the better chance of success? (and why, if you will)
