6321  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Request Exchange ETH to BTC on: October 26, 2022, 08:42:03 AM
If you share amounts in crypto instead of dollars I can tell you if I can do this.
6322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what happens to bitcoin if the electricity and internet goes out.? on: October 26, 2022, 08:24:17 AM
If you meant literally 100% no internet and electricity, then Bitcoin would halt — as well as the banking system, the world wide web, and a lot of other things that could be far more important than Bitcoin. Bitcoin would probably be the least of your problems in such a scenario.
I spent the night (last night) without electricity. That means no heating in the house, no cooling in the freezer, no working stove, no warm water, no shower, a laptop that runs out of battery and a few phones and tablets as lights. I especially like the tablet for this: it can last a few days.
Bitcoin wasn't on my list of concerns.

Youtube has several videos if you search for "world without electricity". It's fun to watch as a thought experiment.

I'm pretty sure that without electricity, and without fossil fuel, the majority of the population wouldn't survive a year.
6323  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system on: October 26, 2022, 08:14:52 AM
In the end, the only one who has removed me is Naim027
Naim027 wiped his Trust list, so it's not just you.

after the one-word feedback I left him.
While we're on the subject of correct use, I think you can improve on this:
Scumbag
Google describes it as: "a dirty or despicable person". I'd say that's not really a reason to give someone negative feedback. Your Reference link explains it, but it's better to explain it accurately in the Comments.
6324  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty managers and newbie bounty hunters on: October 26, 2022, 07:45:32 AM
If you require bounty spammers to have a higher rank, they'll spam other boards to fill up 30 posts and earn Merit. Please keep them isolated on the bounty boards!
They need to receive merits to get higher ranks and that is not so easy if someone is shitposting spam everywhere, and they will certainly get reported sooner or later.
Sure, they'll get reported, but if hundreds of Newbies start shitposting the tech boards hoping to earn some Merit, good users will abandon those boards too.

Quote
you can't force newbies to stay isolated in bounty boards, unless some rule change happens.
I have nothing against Newbies on the tech boards, but they should be there for the right reasons.

Quote
people should generally avoid participating in any campaigns that don't pay at least partially in escrowed Bitcoin.
Most people do Wink That brings us back to the few people with many alt-accounts who earn from spamming.

You can like something without announcing it to the world.

Very helpful new user
Deleted. I'm not going to allow you to use this topic to pump and dump shitcoins.

Lol, technical answer and technical improvement category? it's just a random shitcoin
Exactly. So please remove the quote Smiley

I think you didn't even read what the thread and just reporting that's user because the thread is long
My instant assumption is someone has a bag of shitcoins to hype, especially if it's is first post in a very long time. Not in my topic.
6327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to find the first 35 digits of bitcoin private key on: October 25, 2022, 08:10:38 PM
Now my question is that how can i Calculate the exact first part of this address.
because i know if i get the first part then remining 17 will be find with brute force.
Lol Cheesy
I'm not sure if you're trolling or not, but let's assume you're not. You're saying you don't know anyting, but if you find a way to get 70%, you'll also be able to get the remaining 30%. That makes no sense at all, because there's no way to get the first 70% of the private key. If that would be possible, Bitcoin wouldn't exist.
There are far richer addresses out there than the one you showed (holding 500BTC), and some of them have exposed their public key.

Some say what you're looking for is possible with quantum computing, but that's not going to happen any time soon.
6328  Other / Meta / Re: See this burst poster here. on: October 25, 2022, 07:59:24 PM
I have decided to unlock this thread because I happened to find another burstposter here: Profile.
And the next day, that user made no posts at all. Coincidence? Up to you to decide!
6329  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: October 25, 2022, 07:49:29 PM
But an even smaller percentage, I presume, does like the comfort of the Electrum client, and runs a Bitcoin Core node
I always assumed there are many times more Electrum users than Bitcoin Core users, but I have no hard data on this. It's my gut feeling considering the easy of use compared to first downloading 450 GB.

Quote
Besides, what's so difficult with running a server on top of your node?
I never tried, so I don't know.
6330  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: October 25, 2022, 09:03:06 AM
I did assume that whoever cares about improving their privacy sets up a personal Electrum server as one of the first steps.. Wink
I assume only a small percentage does that. Example: me. I've never setup my own Electrum server. If I have to download the full blockchain anyway, it's much easier to run Bitcoin Core instead. I'm not using the default Descriptor wallet though, because it makes importing private keys much more complicated.

"My" easy solution for privacy: Electrum on Tails OS, with as few addresses in the wallet as possible.
6331  Other / Archival / Re: [LIST] Campaign Management Services on: October 25, 2022, 08:50:40 AM
I have something to look out for Grin
I haven't managed campaigns in years. I rejected the ones that asked me because I don't trust them. That's too bad though, because running a low-spam campaign for a honest website is fun.
6332  Other / Meta / Re: Will mods/admins approve of this? on: October 25, 2022, 08:44:04 AM
So those hunting for ban evaders will have to do all this manually when they have a suspicion. Alternatively, maybe guys like LoyceV or DdmrDdmr can automate the process somehow and find a way to query that site for UIDs, connect the numbers with known social media account names and Bitcointalk accounts, and then dump all that data somewhere.
I'm not interested in bounty spammers spamming "social media" with tokens meant to scam people. The entire concept is a massive money grabber and "connecting" those accounts will just mean they create new ones.
6333  Other / Meta / Re: How to write posts like a degenerate spammer on: October 25, 2022, 08:26:42 AM
With these five simple steps, you can continue posting with less than two minutes of thought between each of your posts.
Thank you sir.

I usually either Report those as "generic shitpost", or simply click Ignore.
6334  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: October 25, 2022, 08:16:32 AM
I mean to create multi exchanges with an none KYC services like swapping to obfuscate the change funds.
I'm still not sure what you mean. Can you make up an example?

Quote
Avoid change is only possible with donation or an exact payment where in and out txes are equal or
Or by carefully selecting the right input site, or by increasing the transaction fee a bit, or by carefully paying multiple addresses at once, or by changing the amount you're sending. The latter is often possible when you're topping up a service.

[1] One way to accomplish that is to be very diligent with coin control and have a wallet just filled with ChipMixer chips. Of different sizes.
This is the scenario in which the Electrum server you're using knows those addresses all belong to the same wallet. That may or may not be a problem.

I'll also get the merit.all.txt dump from LoyceV to fill any of the missing merits data (I know there are a few from the numerous downtimes over the years).
As far as I know, merit.all.txt is complete. Every week, I replace the last 113 days by the new 120 day data. That means that the rare "undo" actions theymos did on Merit are also processed correctly.

I work with companies and they register my address for cryptocurrency as the only one, ~
This creates additional difficulties in understanding who sent them the bitcoins
It sounds like the company handles Bitcoin as a "bank account", for which you identify the sender by their account number.
With Bitcoin, instead of checking which address sent them funds, they should give each client a unique payment address. That way, they know who paid them simply by checking which address was paid.

@LoyceV, since you are here-
Can you take any of the bounty threads which has both Twitter and Facebook campaign and share the data with us which rank have posted there in that bounty thread in the below format-
X amount - Newbies
Y amount - Jr Member
I took the latest thread on patrol: this one. It has 21 pages, so "All" is available. It has 415 posts, 2 of those from OP.
In the page source, I can easily search for:
Code:
							Newbie<br />: 382
Jr. Member<br />: 15
Member<br />: 14
Full Member<br />: 1
Sr. Member<br />: 3
Hero Member<br />: [s]4[/s] (I mean 0, this somehow counts something else than users who posted)
Legendary<br />: 0
Copper Member<br />: [s]2[/s] (those are OP)
Somehow the total adds up to 415 again, despite not counting OP. I'm not sure why, but you get the idea:
92% of the posts come from Newbies.

Yesterday he wrote 22 posts.
25! Or 26?

The rest that are from the thread update "Complete overview of users on DT1 and DT2 and their ratings" I don't take them into account.
Lol. I'm pretty sure DS is smart enough not to count those weekly updates.

I am commenting this because I was amused when I realized it.
It took you long enough Tongue Saturday is my "update day" because theymos' Trust data dump happens on Saturday morning (and the Merit data dump a day earlier).

It is not my intention to enter into any angry controversy
Who's angry? Wink

I actually thought about "burst posting" after I made this post:
When I closed that tab, I noticed I hadn't posted my other post yet:
So there's 36 seconds in between. I don't type 19 characters per second, but it was enough time to proofread the post again.

I hate to start a controversial topic that might take away a Newbies ability to earn money, but if a good number of you are going to cheat then fuck off.
My assumption is always that most of the bounty spam accounts belong to a small group of people.

I wrote Why not tag all bounty hunters? earlier this year. To summarize my clickbait:
If tagging them doesn't work, if the forum doesn't ban their low-quality posts, and if they don't bring anything good at all, can't we just ignore them completely? Don't mention them in Reputation (sorry, I'm guilty too), don't mention them in Scam Accusations, don't look for "alts" as long as they have nothing to lose, don't tag them, but just ignore them completely?
Even if you don't allow them to join your bounty campaign, someone else will.

Companies contact us and we give them an idea of the participation we might get them in a bounty campaign, but the numbers are way off since we are allowing these cheaters to join. Essentially, we are no better than the bounty cheaters because we are unknowingly lying. Well most are unknowingly lying. Others just down right don't give a damn long as they get paid.
As long as they pay in made-up tokens, I'm sure they don't care who spams for them, as long as they get maximum exposure.

Quote
Now, what about managers? Should we tag managers who are outright being dishonest by allowing Newbies?
That will mean the bounty managers will use Newbie accounts for it, so they don't care. Nothing will change, as long as the forum allows it. So I stay away from the bounty spam boards, and when I see their shitposts on other boards, I report them.

Quote
Or tag managers who really aren't caring about the forum?
If you tag them, it should be because there's a trade risk involved, not because they don't care about the forum. All those tags on Newbies only make people used to seeing red tags, so it reduces the warning potential for real scammers.
I dare to go a step further: the professional spammers who create 99.9% of whatever BS tokens the bounty spammers are advertising, they don't care about the forum either. Just like altcoins used to use the forum to promote their coin, just like ICOs used to do, and just like bounties are doing now. And just like I assume most bounty spam accounts are owned by a small group of people, I also assume most of the BS tokens are being created by a small group of people. I had the same assumption with ICOs: the websites are all more or less the same, the approach is the same, the "campaign" is the same. And those people earned millions if not billions from this. Bitcointalk is just a small part of their means to get money out of gullible greedy "investors".

What about decreasing bounty reward allocation for social media campaigns? Will it decrease the amount of newbie cheaters, because it will be unprofitable to join even with multiple accounts?
I expect the opposite: it's not worth it for normal people with friends and family on their social media, but it's still profitable for spammers with 50 accounts, each with thousands of followers who are all bounty spammers too.
The fact that the bounty spammers all have that much followers while all they do is spam should be a dead giveaway they're not normal social media users but dedicated spammers.

If there are seriously that few that join a bounty and 95% of the rest are multis, then what the hell are companies wasting money running a bounty on here then?
That's the thing: they don't waste money, they share some of the BS tokens they created out of thin air.

If you require bounty spammers to have a higher rank, they'll spam other boards to fill up 30 posts and earn Merit. Please keep them isolated on the bounty boards!
