For example, Sats are ranked in position #5009, with no Market Cap data nor volume, and no explicit clear mention that sats are just a fractional representation of bitcoin (other than the logo). A raíz de la lectura de una petición de compra/venta que he visto hoy por el foro, creo que sería interesante poder debatir brevemente las consideraciones que debemos tener respecto de cualquier ejercicio de compra/venta de bitcoins cara a cara. Esto va a depender de muchos factores (geográfico, cantidad, seguridad, etc.), entre los cuales, como principal, quizás está la aversión al riesgo (o prudencia) que pueda tener cada cual.
Por nombrar algunos aspectos que podemos ir construyendo entre todos, podríamos citar, por ejemplo:
- Si la persona es desconocida, hay un alto riesgo de que algo pueda salir mal (que no se entregue el dinero en efectivo, que sea falso en todo/parte, que te lo roben en cuanto transfieras los bitcoins, que te sigan, etc.). Lo anterior es igualmente posible si es una persona conocida.
- Si el montante no es desdeñable, ¿quién sabe si el interlocutor es una autoridad intentando atrapar este tipo de operaciones?
- Habría, en todo caso, que contemplar dónde se hace el intercambio, y estar seguro de que sea un sitio que te de algo de seguridad de por sí. Con/sin cámaras tiene pros y contras.
- Habría que ponderar una buena gestión de direcciones, teniendo presente que la que utilices, aunque sea parcialmente para la TX, dará acceso al receptor de poder conocer el montante global en esa dirección, y quizás alguna cosa más en función de las entradas y salidas. Esto es más relevante si van a haber más encuentros posteriores.
- Si el origen está en una cuenta de foro, no estaría mal mirar la Confianza (Trust) de la cuenta, el feedback, y comprender si esto aporta algo en la decisión.
- Si no hay escrow de ningún tipo, el riesgo es mucho mayor.
Claro que, si no pasa nada de lo anterior, habrás realizado una transacción comercial que podría tener sus beneficios obvios. Lo que no es tan obvio es que la jugada vaya a salir bien.
Nota: No es lo mismo realizar la TX por un contravalor bajo (20$ o 200$ por ejemplo) que irnos a contravalores netamente superiores.

Creo que hablamos de esto hace algunos meses, pero no he logrado dar con el post/hilo, sin que esté seguro de si estamos hablando del mismo pool en esta ocasión. El pool Marathon Digital Holdings, corporación norteamericana, ha anunciado su adhesión a las políticas AML y los estándares OFAC (U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control). Esto quiere decir que aplicarán una especie de censura sobre las TXs que no converjan, de manera que no se incluirán en sus bloques procesados, descartando aquellas pertenecientes a listas negras y demás listas de TXs sospechosas de incumplir algún precepto AML/OFAC. En la práctica, uno diría que no supone nada operativamente en estos momentos, pues las TXs que descarten (se entiende que eso es lo que hacen) serán recogidas por otros nodos mineros, e incluidas en sus bloques. Ahora bien, es un primer paso para intentar imponer controles en un punto clave. Veremos con el tiempo cómo va evolucionando este asunto (a años vista supongo). Por si alguien no lo ha visto, hay algunas vacantes abiertas en la campaña de CM (ver https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935179.msg56969135#msg56969135), sin que se especifique el número concreto de vacantes. Ya hay más de 40 personas apuntadas a postularse, pero la cifra llegará fácilmente al centenar. Lo bueno de esta campaña es que no tiene un número de posts mínimos por semana, lo cual da mucha flexibilidad, y ayuda a adecuarse mejor a la disponibilidad de cada cual. |

Just for the sake of discussion, and going for the interpretation that many have made on this thread (1M$ in BTC, not 1M BTC), according to the article referenced down below, there are around 100K BTC addresses with a BTC equivalent greater or equal to 1M$. Of course this is all an n:m:[p] game (n addresses belong to m people - and are grouped behind p wallets), so there’s no way of telling how many people really have an equivalent of 1M$ in BTC, but it gives us a playing field play with. For example, my average for the running 2021 is of 1,04, with a standard deviation of 0,2. So basically, I’m a regular (mean) 1 sMerit per Tx type of person. El Corte Inglés (con una situación delicada) ha registrado la marca Bitcor en la oficina de la Propiedad Intelectual de la UE, bajo el paraguas de "servicios financieros; transacciones financieras relacionadas con el intercambio de moneda, y compraventa de divisas". No está claro qué creará, ni cuando, pero el movimiento denota intención, y aunque lo amparen bajo un pretexto de reservar el nombre de la marca, aquí el que no corre vuela. De hecho, con las tres condiciones que indicas (Actividad 1666, Legendario y Registro 2016+) hay tres candidatos. A tener presente, para quien lo mire, que la Actividad no es estática, y cambiará en su debida ventana de tiempo. Con actividad 1700 no hay nadie. Los valores más cercanos son 1696 y 1708. Por razones obvias, no participo en los retos (me cuesta un periquete a mí ver lo anterior), pero dicho eso, si yo lo puedo ver, y como suelo compartir datos, no es dificil dar con ello. |

El otro día le daba vueltas a los cajeros de bitcoin, y no tengo del todo claro su futuro. Su origen parecía interesante, en tanto en cuanto evitabas el KYC. Todo esto según el país estará en un estado u otro realmente, pero bueno, con tendencia al KYC. Luego está la vertiente de accesibilidad para los tenedores, y de experimentación para los novatos.
No obstante, a medida que se implanta el KYC, y se extienda el acceso a productos derivados en las propias entidades bancarias, diría que irán perdiendo gran parte de su atractivo. Por un lado, con KYC + comisiones altas, tienen poco sentido para el usuario experimentado, que puede usar combinación de Exchange + cuenta bancaria (si no hay problema con uno y otro claro está) a un menor coste. Queda la accesibilidad, pero si los bancos se meten en el negocio de compra/venta/custodia, es fácil que extienda su red para la compra/venta de bitcoins.
Veremos cómo devenga la situación de aquí a unos años …

Como curiosidad, en EEUU, el FBI está poniendo avisos en los cajeros Bitcoin ATM de algunas localidades, para intentar mitigar el número de timos que se están dando, donde los timadores dirigen a la gente para hacer uso de los mismos a fin de pagar falsas facturas, multas y tasas. The base article (on Coinbase’s blog by the way, which has its viewpoint implications) has "fact check" as a prefix to the rest of the title, and what the article goes on to do is to use that as a hypothesis and debunk it through data. Leaving the heading as is, will lead people to think that that is the core statement here, whilst it’s really the opposite. Coinbases’s complete heading ("FACT CHECK: Crypto is increasingly being used for criminal activity and is a haven for illicit finance") could be clearer, and is semi-clickbait really, waiting for the reader to read the result of the fact check exercise. |
