Yep, it's the same guy. Seems he saw this thread about him and wondered if he could make a run about it. No chance! Grin

Cheesy /me *giggles*

wow - such a nifty trick to delete all his posts....

Daniel, Daniel, Daniel .... on the internetz, you cannot un-ring a bell:

THAT is a screenshot of your complete PRE-deleted thread - and i am sure webarchive.org and wayback machines of all kinds will regurgitate this thread happily unredacted... not to mention the sheer fact that this thread will now appear in the Google searches of all your future employers (yes, during recruitment - companies use Google!)

Chalk it up as a black mark on your permanent internet record, bro - "this is one doodle that cant be un-did; home-skillet!"

6366  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature Request] "Ignored by # peoples" besides usernames (10 BTC bounty) on: March 12, 2012, 03:12:42 PM

I'm a celebrity!

Can I increase the bounty to have a flashing broadway-lit boarder around mine?

I want people to feel special when they choose to ignore me.
Can we have one, if we're not ignored too?  Grin

Paypal freezing your account doesn't make you a scammer.

Is this just another gang up by Matthew and his meth-friends?
umad bro?

6369  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature Request] Scammer sub forum on: March 12, 2012, 03:03:30 PM
I noticed that many times the "SCAMMER" tag does not work well.  Either two things happen.

1.  A labeled scammer creates a new screen name to scam again.

2.  A labeled scammer does not have the ability to get their scamming status removed.

I propose a sub forum on bitcointalk.org that lists any new scammers that are named so by the moderators.  I know there is a topic that lists scammers, but I think a central thread would allow for better scammer identification.  My purpose is to give more of a stick to the "SCAMMER" tag as not only will the scammer be listed and all members of the community notified, but also I suggest that all IP addresses that they registered and/or logged into bitcointalk.org be listed as well.

I have no problem with people wanting to remain anonymous and I respect people's desire to be anonymous.  Anonymity is not a right, it is only a luxury and if someone is accused of scamming by a critical value of people or substantial evidence then victims can have a means to identify the scammer for possible restitution.

Also, it might be a stick to keep people from scamming in the first place.

Those that have scammed would have an area to pay back their victims.

I would be willing to volunteer to moderate and/or post the IP addresses under the supervision of this forums global moderators.
This sounds good, and with some modifications this could work! +1

On the ignore button, thats in the user name area to the left of the post.  You can see matthews is slightly highlighted?
Yep, I can see that perfectly now. Thanks!

Hm. Can we see if we're highlighted without creating a sock puppet account?
I can tell you if you need to, though  Grin . You're not highlighted.

I remember reading that there's existing solutions to this, either by pruning off the old merkle root stuff for old transactions and so. And there's the light clients designed to run on the cloud  Grin
p.s.: it's 11 here and I'm drowsy, so forgive me for any errors

Probably a drug dealer that is used to getting his way in the real world, now has to figure out how to get his way in the (somewhat) virtual world. I'm not worried, come at me bro! Send all your 40 gay lawyers.
I'd prefer women lawyers, and beautiful ones for the account too please  Wink

Current rules are:
- 0.5% of very-established users ignore you: light highlight
- 0.75% of very-established users ignore you: medium highlight
- 1% of very-established users ignore you: dark highlight

You're very established if:
- You have 100+ hours of online time
- You have 100+ posts
- You registered 30+ days ago

There are ~950 very-established users right now.

The change only shows up in the default theme.
I've switched to the default theme (from the bitcoin theme) and I find no difference yet. WHere's the highlight on?  Cheesy

Try posting in the Currency Exchange place too. I'm sure you'll get more exposure there, and sell it out faster (there's generally a need for those GC's over here)

Hey, that's a good idea! I'll do this too, maybe to let them know there's interest in this getting done. I need liquid cooling here to run one as I'm living in the tropics right now.
6376  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitscalper back to business on: March 12, 2012, 02:05:06 PM
Not picking sides here, but bitscalper just return what you owe to them and let this drama stop if you've no intention of being a scammer.

From your site:
2/29/2012 - Update: We will be coming back to business within a one week with important updates and changes. Stay tuned.

It's been over 2 weeks now without any sign of bitcoins being returned. We're not going to put our foot to our mouth when no sign of money is being returned.

Calm down Matthew. I have to admit that your language and unfounded allegations really turn me off. To me, you sound like you're either young (teenager/early 20s) and just like to spout off, or you're an infiltrator that is trying to bring down people and cause division.

I don't think bitscalper is a "scammer". If he was, he'd already be long gone and not posting on here anymore - it'd be pointless.

I DO think he is incompetent at building a secure website, but whatever, most people are. It's not appropriate to use derogatory, insulting language directed at someone for trying and failing. I probably know more about computers than you, Matthew, and my site got hacked too. I know how to build a website but providing security against pro hackers is a whole different story.

Its obvious to me that the powers that be want to control the exchanges, so certain exchanges will be provided support, and others will be attacked. I want as many exchanges as possible, and to trade at as many as possible, even if they kinda suck - power in numbers. When I see people throwing around the "scammer" label without any real evidence, well, that sounds just like the good ole boys club to me (masons).

I do support your point what more exchanges need to pop up wholeheartedly. However, there is the undeniable fact that the scammer tag is appropriate here as there is still no sign of money being returned as promised. Hence, he would be considered a scammer due to him breaking his promise to send money back to their respective owners when due.

Incompetence isn't the reason for not returning people's money. Consider slush, bitcoinica and the rest involved in the Linode fiasco. Did they refuse to return money to people after the fuck-up of Linode (and not actually their problem)? See btcbuckets. He had a major screw-up of his systems and accidentally double-sent the money to someone. He even borrowed bitcoins to cover his loss due to negligence. They're the perfect examples of what we actually need to have a working economy in place.
6377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for a start for a Mining Farm on: March 12, 2012, 01:43:12 PM
lmfao that's lame... just stick to liquid cooling
You would need to have waterblocks for the fpga's custom made then.

They do make universal waterblocks.  If BFL would just put some damn holes in the board.  They make water blocks which can adjust to everything from 28mm to 80mm hole spacing.  BFL just punch two holes in the PCB and people could use any custom cooling they wanted.  It you can't/won't for this board at least consider it for the next board.  Having 2 push-pin holes put into the board would add about $0.02 to PCB production cost.  Everything from third party CPU coolers to waterblocks to phase change and TECs would be possible if they had 2 pennies worth of holes punched into the board.

Now that's news to me. Can't we drill the holes in, aftermarket style? Or is it the PCB's so damn packed till we can't even drill em ourselves?

6380  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sapphire 7970 has low Mhash/s rate??? on: March 12, 2012, 12:35:27 PM
Seriously, Holliday has a point there.
Hm. I think so you'd need to use more modern miner like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1721.0
with parameters -v 1 -w 256

This is all what you need. As you do understand english( and typing it perfectly), you can then proceed to the link and start doing what Diablo said. I've been using the exact same parameters with what he's told with my friend's 7970, and it's basing happily at almost 710 mhashes now.

Good luck !
