This is the best board design I have ever seen from all the Asic companies out there.
Especially when you look at the middle of the asic-motherboard, how a simple arrangement of chips can lower the average temperature of all the chips.
The whole miner is made out easy to produce parts and easy to assemble.
You guys even thought about cable management, everything is clean and neat.
I am impressed, I don't say that easy, but you guys are FUCKING GOOD.

The closest I've seen to this was the Avalon2 which is a major step above most other ASICs, but this is from the ground up perfect. I'd like to have experimented turning both heatsinks into each other, although this arrangement may have been done to guarantee clearance on the back of that bottom board.

I don't want to be an asshole, but it is totally not suitable to place it at your home regardless what your website is saying.
68 dB per miner, if you have more than 3 in one place, you can hear them in every corner of your house.
You really need to rent a datacenter if you want to be a serious miner with this stuff.

If there's a woof, there's a way. I can't guarantee I'll get them down to silent but I'll give it a go. If people are data centering them then noise isn't an issue. In residential then size isn't an issue and so the cooling mods can commence.
6383  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Claiming VAT (UK) for Antminer S2 from Bitmain on: March 18, 2014, 06:02:27 PM
Yes it is that simple. There is a customs fee for handling which isn't vat recoverable, but the sizable chunk you pay is VAT.
6384  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 18, 2014, 01:41:25 PM

Dam, that thing is 2000W for  only 360 GH/s ?!!! Shocked

The Chinese do know how to make knockoffs.  This thing is a longer, shittier, power consuming double S1.
6-9 months ago you would have been creaming yourself for that. Everything is relative.
6385  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntFarm S1 Project S2 + S3 on: March 18, 2014, 01:23:47 PM
If you care about money, modified server PSUs. You'll still only just power 2 though.

4 Ants per PSU.

Then they're not the common 1KW PSUs he would be able to get ahold of easily - that I was referring to.
6386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 18, 2014, 01:13:47 PM
Hey guys,

I've put this guide on my site and am looking for feedback. Do you prefer the guide on the forum, how it looks on the site or both? Any other thoughts?

http://dogiecoin.weebly.com/asicminer-cube.html (soon to be dogiecoin.com)

I like the one on your site a bit better.
Thanks. Theres a lot more advanced and 'pretty' stuff I can do on my own site, so I'll probably duplicate the guides. If you compare the Antminer one for example, its considerably better looking.
6387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntFarm S1 Project S2 + S3 on: March 18, 2014, 12:47:40 PM
what is the best for max number of units on OC settings

English please, and there's already about 20 Antminer threads Tongue

What is the best method for powering such large amount of Ants from 1 single PSU on OC setting.

Yeah and I'm only adding to them  Tongue But this is about AntFarm Smiley

If you care about time, get 2xCorsair 750CXs or 750Ms between three.

Guys calm down about the PSU. I've ordered an S2 and will do a setup guide and review - if it burns my flat down then I'll let you know Wink

In all seriousness, I'll obviously check power consumption and PSU spec'ing.

How did you manage with customs ? I know Juan from 112 does not ship direct UK.

I've never had a problem with UK customs, but I'm VAT registered so it makes no difference either way - I just claim it back later.

Also dusted off my 1500W single PSU in case we need to do any heavy testing for the cooling mods Smiley
6390  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What company to buy a miner from? on: March 18, 2014, 02:28:10 AM
There's a guide in my sig.
There's a guide in his sig Wink.

No point watercooling if heat removal is your problem and you can't get your radiators external.
6392  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 18, 2014, 01:11:25 AM
It is about 7-8am in CN at the moment, I'm sure they'll trigger the main site soon Tongue

5 minutes 22 seconds left here. I think it might be set to local midnight not a set timezone. But don't open more threads please: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=518918.20
6394  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Avalon Avalon2 Setup + Silencer Mod on: March 17, 2014, 09:19:44 PM
Just trying to gather all the components for my initial mining set up... just dipping my toes in Smiley

I have a, supposedly new, Avalon 2 single unit arriving shortly and am looking at obtaining the PSU and TP link WR703N. In your guide you specify that it is a 'modified' TP Link WR703N. Does that refer simply to the custom firmware or does something else have to be done to this unit?

Thanks,
The Avalon1 ran off hardware modded WRs (additional RAM), however I believe the firmware will run fine on stock WRs.
6395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: March 17, 2014, 09:16:24 PM
I've seen several different opinions on this so I thought I'd ask here for the definitive answer.  Will one Corsair RM850 power two stock S1s?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139056

Yes, no, maybe - they're all valid answers. You're going to be between 95 and 105% load depending on variance and that's much closer than I would personally run at.
6396  Other / Meta / Re: Does Mark Karpeles own this forum? on: March 17, 2014, 09:11:00 PM
No, he did host the forum on his servers for a short period of time, but it was moved a long time ago.

I wonder if the database version he had got into the wrong hands, if that would cause us all any problems? It was way before my time, but potentially the older members could still have been there. Although I have no idea about the format of the database.
6397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 17, 2014, 09:04:11 PM
I got the new antminer s1... finally set it up (thank you dogie! -- ill send a donation on your way as soon as i get some btc)

Now... It's been running for 15min~, and I have this status... It seems a little odd but it seems to be working fine.

Is it OK? Or is there something wrong? (I'd rather have a smiley face than all oooooo)

thank you
That means everything is fine (and this is the cube thread Tongue)
6398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 17, 2014, 08:53:31 PM
I have a question:

- Will Avalon sells only chips or also complete miners ?

  Smiley

Will they be selling miners or just chips?

Both, but I believe this announcement is just for the chip side. The Avalon Avalon2 design is apparently compatible with Avalon3 chips though so it won't be long.
6399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 17, 2014, 03:26:58 PM
Although Avalon might of played it right by you, it's not very hard to see why others would not be as happy with them.

Not saying we should be happy with them, just that they are far from being the worst company out there but still they seem to have some of the most rabid haters around, they even rival BFL on that front  Wink

I just wanted to get my point across that when it comes to buying from their in stock items there isn't really much risk from my experience since they have a good track record on that side of their business that gets drowned in all the old "pre-order hate" noise.

Ok, I get what you're saying.

Avalon has moved to an in stock only model now, and Yifu isn't a part of the team any more. The people who are left are the engineers who made the magic happen back in 2013 and do NOT have money. Yifu walked away with it, yet the engineers trying to run a real business get the flak from his actions.

I'm not so sure about that, I think that was done just to save face.

Yifu owns BitSyncom, LLC. At the bottom of Avalon-asics.com (after being updated numerous times since Yifu's supposed dismissal is a copyright notice:

Copyright © 2012 - 2014 Avalon Project, BitSyncom LLC

Copyrighted for BitSyncom LLC through the year 2014. The year was updated to 2014. If BitSyncom is truly not involved with the project anymore then why is his company still listed in the Copyright?

If he had truly left and it was under different hands I would expect it to read:

Copyright © 2012 - 2014 Avalon Project, Some other company here

or

Copyright © 2012 - 2013 Avalon Project, BitSyncom LLC
Copyright © 2013 - 2014 Avalon Project, Some other company here

Again, this website has been updated numerous times since Yifu supposedly left the company.

He is on paper but he's not responded to the teams emails in months and months. As I said, the only people left (and running this company now) are the engineers, with little money. Yifu ran off to to work with the government about anonymity and took the millions with him.

He is the founder but he isn't the only owner.
