641  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Some thoughts about the .7 changes on: July 29, 2012, 08:41:52 PM
I think it will be great to have better search capabilities in the new changes, I'd imagine with better blockchain searching one could make it so the user could type in the address they are sending their Bitcoins from and then send the Bitcoins to a single supplied address per organization. This could make it so the organization dosen't have to worry about multiple in/out tx fees when sending Bitcoins the customer that is sending the payment well the transaction fees would be on them.

For instance lets say cheaperinbitcoins always gives the following address for their customers to send their payments:1AeohaHoVSJLhVwebvDWjcmNyN3NkmhVXC

So this is how a future bitcoin transaction will take place in theory:

*User places order and types in the bitcoin addresses the Bitcoins will be comming from...

*Reciept says send X.xx amount of Bitcoins to the address of 1AeohaHoVSJLhVwebvDWjcmNyN3NkmhVXC

*User sends X.xx amount of Bitcoins

*Merchant(CheaperInBitcoins) scans where the Bitcoins are coming from and funds the order.

-----
This method is helpful when making a purchase because a user is less likely to get mixed up in Bitcoin addresses when sending funds.
A user could tag "CheaperInBitcoins payments" to the address and thus never ever have to scan another Bitcoin address
Custom clients can have a WOT rating displayed next to the trusted address
Again adds trust by a single entity, instead of scammers constantly switching addresses and indentities.

The only con i see is that the official client will have to support showing which Bitcoin address will be sending the bitcoins (or have sent the bitcoins) otherwise it's just plain unintuitive to send Bitcoins to the address of 1AeohaHoVSJLhVwebvDWjcmNyN3NkmhVXC then try to search for one of your owned Bitcoin addresses in the large list of awaiting transactions going to the same address.

Any other thoughts?

Perhaps it would've been better if they didn't mix things like that, so some messages wouldn't be contaminated by the association with less credible messages?

But it's all connected, don't you see? the reptilians have their scaly little thumbs in every pie...

[/tinfoil]

Edit: OK, so I'm watching this, about 5 minutes in, and it's got me hooked so far, at least. I'll let you know when I'm done.
Edit2: One hour in, and it seems to me what looks at first like an everything and the kitchen sink melange of conspiracy theories is actually a rather comprehensive examination of the problem... Wonder if he gets the solution right.
Edit3: Yep. He's spot on. In short, dude's a hippy, but seems like he's got his head screwed on straight.

yeah i almost didn't watch it all the way through but when i did, i was like hmmm they have a point that it COULD be all connected and such or just concidences how ever the ending conclusion seems pretty legit in my view

646  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The last time I will be using spendBitcoins + paypal on: July 29, 2012, 07:57:29 PM
I was most frustrated with the fact that the paypal review was pending for so long(3weeks and two days exactly) and I believe it could have been fixed with a quick "login to paypal" because a few days before the announcement about "amazon and paypal" being back up the transaction went through. They claim it their account was suspended, maybe it was maybe it wasn't, I'm not unhappy with spend bitcoins in particular, but its mostly a reminder to me and others that the paypal part of "spendbitcoins.com" isn't exactly a walk in the park. I have had mostly good transactions with spendbitcoins, its just the paypal aspect of it is worse then i had expected.

I'm the type of person that likes to read others experiences with businesses instead of being force fed what i should experience during business transactions(referring to advertisements and such) and I'm sure sometimes that comes off with "The whole business sux don't use it... go somewhere else", zis not the case.but to anyone that wants to use spendbitcoin+paypal, it wasn’t very enjoyable but that's what you get for dealing with paypal.

Am I the only one who thinks all of these memes suck? I want something that I can share on facebook and all of my non-bitcoin using friends will "get" and look like fools at the same time.

The only one I thought was moderately good was the sanctioned muslim charities one. If I had some muslim friends, I'd share it.

Why would you expect any Bitcoin memes to be relatable to your friends? anywho... why don't you Make a meme your friends will enjoy? Smiley ZING!

It's 1 dollar.
I'm not sure if their is a language barrier here or if you trolling but my response to that would be

Yes one dollar is one dollar.

More serious response... I can reimburse your embarrassment for $1 in BTC value?

Other than that I'm lost where this conversation is going...

I thought we didn't initiate a transaction and if memory serves you didn't reply to my PMs (When was this like 2 months ago?)
Also there is a Message Me button right next to my name, why do you call me out publicly?

655  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to Bitcoin when free energy is available? on: July 27, 2012, 11:57:39 PM

I believe the original poster is referring to what is commonly known as "Energy from the Vacuum" or "Energy from the Ether".

Nikola Tesla is supposed to have been very active in the pursuit of this research and the conspiracy theory goes that JP Morgan/Edison/etc were very much opposed.

There are books written by people like Tom Bedini, Lt Colonel Tom Bearden, and a whole slew of other people actively researching and experimenting.

Tom Bearden claims that the fundamentals of physics taught in school are intentionally misleading in order to maintain the status quo.

It's been a few years since I kept up with PESWiki and the other communities but it's a very interesting field of research, for sure.

Im glad some one could explain were this is all comming from

Yes paypal wasn't the best option, I could have went with a bank wire transfer and lost $15 in the process and got my money quicker now that i think about it in the end i would have came out with the same amount but 3 weeks less.
658  Economy / Securities / [GLBSE] CheaperinBitcoins-Stocks on: July 27, 2012, 04:56:01 PM
Cheaper In Bitcoins interest is to provide merchants with a place to sell items or services securely and anonymously, Cheaper In Bitcoins uses a WOT Rating system that will provide the confidence the customer needs to purchase with out knowing the merchants address or personal information.

We have been verified by GLBSE and will be using the funds to help assist with Q & A,  marketing, development of providing merchants with ways to easily start selling. Our main goal is merchants, merchants, merchants, its a proven fact that the more opportunities for customers to purchase items(or services) the more the economy can thrive, the more the economy can thrive the more customers will join that economy and thus a domino effect of Bitcoin arising to a broad range of adaptors.

GLBSE page: https://glbse.com/asset/view/CHEAPERINBITCOINS-STOCKS

*The first step for CIB was to build a marketing platform for merchants to sell items or services anonymously. (Completed)

*The second step is to collect non-personal information about merchant and customer buying/selling habits. (In-Progress)

*The third step is to improve the platform so transactions can move more fluidly with the collected data

*The fourth step is to make a decision at this point to redistribute the software by either open-source or most likely selling it -- which ever is more profitable. (To those persons who have donated $100 in Bitcoin value in past will get software for free no matter what)

660  Economy / Service Discussion / The last time I will be using spendBitcoins + paypal on: July 27, 2012, 04:01:24 PM
So I've been awaiting on my $100 for 3 weeks now(3 weeks and two days to be exact) in paypal only for it to get reversed back into the spendbitcoins paypal account
I ask to get a refund and they tell me they can refund my Bitcoins at the current USD rate which would come out to 13.83 BTC
My original order was 14.95 BTC

What a bunch of bullcrap......
