641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap or Coingecko? on: November 19, 2020, 07:06:48 AM
I used to visit CMC in my early days in crypto but now I'm more comfortable with Coingecko. It gives me the sort of analytics I need on tokens at a glance without clicking many buttons.

In terms of exchange ranking, both CMC and CG may be unable to get the perfect data for ranking due to common practices of wash trading, bot trading, fake pumps many exchanges indulge in.

I heard that coinmarketcap was sold to Binance. Is there any truth about this news ?

Also i see a lot of ads in coinmarketcap which is another reason i use Coingecko more often these days.

I am not sure if its already bought or not by there was a news few months ago that Binance will buy coinmarketcap.com for 400 Million dollar. That's a lot of money for this domain.

Damn it, when I read this I decided to print out all my passwords from the LastPasss manager and keep them on paper in a locked drawer. So much for the new digital age and cloud storage! LOL!

If you have only access to that locked drawer, then its ok but if anyone else in your family (siblings / wife ) can access that drawer key, then you money and accounts are still not safe.
Yes, we should think of the worst possible scenario and should have a backup plan for every situation.
644  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to implement bitcoin as a payment method on: November 15, 2020, 11:17:16 AM
Hello everyone,

I have an online store and would like to offer Bitcoin as a payment method in my store.

Now my question: Does anyone have any experience with this and can they recommend some kind of guideline or approach?

Which payment service providers/processors in Germany or Austria can you recommend to me? Or is there a possibility to avoid them?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards!

There are many third party applications available for this purpose. If you cannot develop your inhouse payment method, you can use these payment gateways to get the money from your customers.
I have paid on https://coingate.com/ when i shop online on few sites, so i guess this is a good option. You can check their site for more details.

Did Round 3 winner ever come by to show off?Wink

You are talking about the third round, i haven't seen anyone from the Round 1 or 2 has come here to say "Thank You" to freebitco on winning. I think most likely the winners so far are not the users of bitcointalk. I hope one day a user from bitcointalk won the lambo and we will come to know about his feelings on winning this prize.  Smiley

Most players are familiar with the KYC system. Especially since this topic has been raised quite a bit at various sites in the last period. That subject cannot be missed.
Personally, I do not think it is a problem to send the KYC and comply with it. I also think it is better if things like this happen at a site in the initial stage and are asked by then.
Then you know where you are, and you have clarity right away. I think every site will eventually switch to requesting KYC documentation.
Depending of course on the status of the player and his ROI. That can have big influence on this process.

We are familiar with KYC but not most players are OK with it especially when we are dealing with gambling activity + in a new site that we have just known.
I doubt that every crypto gambling site will set KYC as mandatory thing eventually, if it happens then there is no benefits of the anonymity of crypto especially bitcoin.

It's kinda bit off if a new casino will ask about that since I cannot trust them up for giving my details while they don't have any reputation yet. Also I believe many doesn't like the KYC procedures since it doesn't give any convenient especially to those random casinos and platforms around. If they set the KYC mandatory I believe many will avoid this site and try later when they get a reputation to stake.

That's the problem with the new casinos they are mandatory asking for KYC but since they are not yet reputable and trusted  many user will not going to register on it unless they are willing to sacrifice their personal information to new casinos. But we cannot blame them since they are just following their protocol from their license.

Not only the old casino, i wont be agree to send my KYC to any old casino too. I understand when trading sites ask for the KYC but i fail to understand why casino require KYC ? If they want to restrict certain countries accessing their site, its better to block those IPs rather than asking for the KYC.

That's what wikileaks does.  They publish documents.   It's been a while since anything new was published, but everything is still available and searchable on their site.

Here, have fun: https://search.wikileaks.org/?q=clinton+emails

Its high time that they should publish something new. Look like they are not interested in more breaking news and scandals and have dumped their previous data for the public.  Shocked
649  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮 on: November 15, 2020, 08:29:33 AM
I really love the site, but I would love if you can add a filter through which we can select events on base of their result timing. Like I have seen a bet which will show its result in 2024, while bets on US election expires on 2020. Would love to have bets sorted by their expiring time.
The bets which expires in 2 - 3 years times are useless because its like we are investing money in the bet which will be released after 3 years when the bet result is declared. I will prefer bets which have duration between 1 - 6 months and not more than that.
650  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone else feeling bad for Trump? on: November 14, 2020, 03:32:11 PM
We need to wait for the vote-counting committee announcement on the final results of the election. At this time, Trump himself also has enough evidence to sue the crooks in the election. Trump did his job and he still has 60 days left to be president during his term until the next presidential announcement is made.
I wish Trump would continue to be president because at least he does not cause wars in the Middle East or anywhere in the world.

In most part of the world, the trump is considered to be a threat to the world but i don't think this is true. For me, Trump is a fighting person who always come up with a positive steps. Some blame that he was not able to handle the covid-19 situation well, but then who managed this perfectly ? No one, i think.

Don't click the link to much, I find something unusual when scanning this site into Virustotal and also read the comment about this IP

I have already opened the site on my system and i hope i am fine  Sad
The information about the IP does not tell anything suspicious as many sites are hosted at wix platform. However i will run my full computer scan and hope i did not end up with any malware.

Let's start at the top. These are the folders. They're loaded with files, and there are tons of files under them.

Download them, and upload them to loads of websites, before they are gone!

What do you mean they have dumped their files ? Will all this data will no longer be available on  Wikileaks ?
Or they have accidently made all their private data public ?

It means that they have made the files available without any real order to the way they are sorted.

Cool

So what's the update on it ? The files are still available online or they have managed to fix it. I don't think ordinary people will be able to use this data in any way effectively until they have the knowledge of what is being revealed and the importance of it  Smiley
653  Other / Meta / Re: Post deleted by mistake or what? on: November 14, 2020, 12:08:38 PM
I didn't handle it but looks like someone reported it as low value.
No disrespect but I think that mods should evaluate the reports of low quality posts more in-depth so this kind of complaints would not happen again. I might be asking for too much knowing that mods have a lot of work to do and a measly single deleted post will not be worth attention which I get will be unfair to the mods of each deleted are reviewed in-depth which takes a lot of time.

The mods do check the post quality before making it delete. They just can't delete every post which is reported as low value but recently there are many complains of good posts being deleted just because someone reports them and they got deleted. There can be a situation that a post may be considered good by one mod but can be considered bad by another mod. It's just difference of opinion and there cannot be any hard or fast rule for this.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How long until we can bet with bitcoin in real life casinos? on: November 14, 2020, 11:50:39 AM
What do you think?

at some point people will be able to walk in a casino and just bet on slot machines with bitcoin?
or play poker using crypto, but irl?

do you think it will become a mass adoption currency or it'll keep as it is on online websites only?

of course some merchants and places already adopt crypto and BTC as a way of payment, but curious here:
how long you think it'll take to reach the point where we can bet in real life places with bitcoin?

This will only happen when crypto and bitcoin is 100% accepted everywhere. Fiat become obsolete and paper money is left with no value n just a piece of paper. That will be the time that we will see crypto currencies being used in all physical and online casinos and everywhere.
For this we might have to wait for a decade or more because this transition from fiat to crypto will not happen in a day.

656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty scam will gradually go away on: November 14, 2020, 10:55:00 AM
There is hugh money in crypto space that's why it's a perfect haven for scammers, if you think that scammers will leave this space its a big lie, it's better to prepare yourself for new projects and do good research on the projects to safe your neck

The bounty scam will never go away. The new projects will keep on coming every day and few of them will always scam the investors and the bounty hunters. What's more sad is that there are few scammers who keep coming up with the new projects to scam people but with new coins and projects every time.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 13, 2020, 08:05:42 PM
I would not consider the finals one-sided. Though Delhi lost all it's matches with Mumbai, Mumbai was not undefeated in the league. And the final was itself a competitive one as Delhi took even the smaller target for Mumbai to last 10 balls. And statistically, it was a good league for Delhi as they reached the finals for the first time

The match was finished in 18.4 overs which is considered as a one sided match in T20 format. You may call this margin a good one in ODI but in the T20 format you expect the matches to go to the last ball/over.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 13, 2020, 01:46:40 PM
DC played great at the start of the season. They got some great wins. I don't know what happened to them at the end of the season. After the performance of the whole team broke down a lot. But they played really great against SRH. If they hadn't lost early wickets in the final, I think the final would have been competitive.

DC was one of my favorite teams, because they had the largest contingent of young Indian players, in Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant. But they were unable to maintain the momentum. And in more than one occasion, they lost matches which they could have easily won. I would still say that they were unable to win the tournament, because the players cared more about their individual records.
No doubt DC is a team of young players but they have shown in this season that they are very inconsistent. About Prithvi Shaw I do not understand why he is part of a T20 team. He is not a guy who can start hitting the ball from the first ball itself he needs time to settle. In my opinion he is one day and more of a test player.

Mumbai Indian were very strong team in this season and they deserve the title.  They won the title 5 times which is very big achievement. When you have Trent Boult and Bumrah in your team, its not easy to beat them. The only thing which was disappointing about the final was that it was a one sided match.

lots of people lose in these bets because they are rooting for trump, with big bets maybe they are just playing with money because they have lots, they don't know what to them with it, im thinking how much it the fee takin by different site with that big amount of money on the line, for sure its also thousands or millions of dollar,

Do someone has the data showing how much was put in this gambling on this election and how much people have won in total and lost in total. I Know it is impossible to find exact figures but still i would like to know how much approx. money was spent on the gambling for this election ?
