The reason I am investing time, money and effort into this coin:
1) For the Alt Currency model to prosper, it has to be because it can be trusted by consumers
2) Karmacoin is perfectly poised to be the coin that consumers can trust
3) The innovation is in the purpose/meaning of the coin
4) With trust as the founding principal we can focus on the the investment in the tools that this community needs to realize the vision, such as:
Ecommerce, Gaming, Work for hire, Android, IOS etc.
5) Doing good is good
Oh really? People can trust karmacoin? Thats why the blockchain has been being exploited since it came out? The developers made the reward block calculations in a way that they can exploit them, anyone mining this coin is being taken advantage of. There's already a coin with the features listed for this coin, its called litecoin. There's nothing karmic about stealing someone elses work, putting a new name on it and calling it your own. Is karmacoin working towards anonymizing the block chain and transaction network? How about built in trading features? Any new security, algos, ANYTHING? NO? It's a SCAM. hey bigc1984 what do you try to handle? it will not works belive me! wow what happened with the 30+ btc buy support at 3 sat while I was asleep?
some one got weak hands and dump from 4 to 3 satoshi 20+ btc. It was very good for buyers who get karma at this price of 3 satoshi and very bad for the dumpers. You see in few days extremely rise of karma. With new payouts, miners will not get so much karma anymore and the price will rise. Only a fool would sell now at 3/4 satoshi if the price is double in the week or two. |

I just read the last page of posts and we are working on figuring out who are the trolls versus who are the people who have legitimate concerns. When you see people bashing the Devs or making statements that scare people into selling, typically it is a troll looking to drive price down. Either way we are investigating it as we want the coin to succeed. This is a community effort, the Devs are in it just like you are, many of you have way more Karmacoin than we do also so help versus bashing is key.
Here is what we know:
- There is a private pool with significant 1GH hash power (about 1400 GPU cards) who has been consistently mining this coin from the beginning
- Right now pool.karmacoin.info and hashstrke.com make up 1.5GH, the private pool makes up 1GH to get us to 2.5 for the whole network
- Rewards are going to change in 3-4 days and we have other launches happening with the first version of the updated site coming at the same time. The value will go up when that happens so someone right now would be motivated to try to drop the value in order to buy it cheap.
Here is what I need from the community:
- We need others to take a look at the data and see if there is something uneven, we will do the same but there are way more people in the community than there are us so we need the help. You can PM me or post the results you find, either is fine
- Any CS people (yes we are CS people as well) please take a look at the reward algorithm (it is the same DOGE used and no one exploited that as far as we know), and see if you can find a flaw in it. It is in src/main.cpp the function GetBlockValue
- If you do find issues, suggestions on how to fix them. The one request we had so far is to change the rewards program.
Once we get more feedback and information, we'll summarize it for everyone with what should be done.
Sounds good. Lets do together this job and dont attack the dev! If people has problems with dev or karma they should left this coin we dont need this trouble in the community! There are a lot of things that we are doing with this coin to make if very different from what is out there today. For example
1) A consolidated site where all things Karma exist. Right now if you look at what most others have, there are a lot of places you have to go to get all of the information about a coin.
2) A community focused on celebrating people doing good
3) A central place for people to see what the community needs, then take the task on and do it. For example, there will be a request for someone to make a video tutorial on using Karma, setting up the wallet, buying/selling it.
4) Information to make it really easy for the layman to get involved (like having the tutorial videos)
5) An infrastructure that allows people to have Facebook 'like' button functionality but instead with Karma. The goal is to have the Karma button everywhere people are writing about good things people have done.
6) And more, right now the focus is the items above but as we aren't even 2 weeks old the plans are fluid.
The huge following and amount of interest in the coin has been amazing and this is only the beginning.
