Phase 1 of the wallet update is complete!
This update is not mandatory but highly recommended.....
The following points have been adressed in this update:
phase 1: Checkpoints, stake modifiers and splash build error.
Increased version to 1.0.1.0 and updated minimum protocol version
I have tested this new build and it communicates with the old chain, you can send UTC from and to an un-updated wallet.
Once you delete everything except the wallet.dat file from the ultracoin folder, start the new client,the new client then updates the chain and the wallet
Step 1 : Type %appdata% in the windows search box (you see it when you click the start button)
Step 2 : Find the ultracoin folder
Step 3 : Copy the wallet.dat into a backup folder, do NOT delete or cut it!
Step 4 : Delete everything in the appdata/ultracoin, but DO NOT DELETE THE WALLET.DAT
Step 5 : Download this file http://www.speedyshare.com/SdmKg/ultracoin-1.0.1.0-windows-qt.rar
Step 6 : Extract the folder from the download somewhere,now drag the Ultracoin-qt.exe from the new download into your normal wallet folder (not into the
appdata/ultracoin folder but your wallet folder)
Step 7 : Click yes when it asks do you want to replace the file.
Step 8 : Start the wallet,it will now download the entire blockchain again (this will take some time).
DONE.

Would it be possible to limit the stratum connections to Nitro1 and force a failover?
But then nitro 2 will have over 50%.....same problem most problems will be fixed after all wallet updates are done, |

What is the official word on resolution to this orphan problem? I know stuhleman said something about a resolution within a week, but this is ridiculous. Even nitro2 is at 28% orphans the last 24 hours. Greekpool is at 26%.
You are effectively giving 75% of the miners a susbsidy right now and telling every new miner to go fuck himself as bonuses are for the old guard.
The fix for this problem lays with the introduction of Level DB and other fixes into the client. I been working with Bumface behind the scenes to get the client fixed. When the update on the client comes we are removing any advantage that Nitro has over other pools, this advantage only exists because we could not sustain any growth with the coma bug. I am sure by now some of you have experienced a 10 to 15 minutes client slow slow start because of the bug, but I want you to consider that multiplied by 1000. When the fix is ready we will take severe measures to disallow the skewed hashrate at Nitro. I will be happy to have 30% of the total hash. I was hoping this will be done within a week time, but according to what Michael posted it might take three weeks. But now that things are in the open and there is a working strategy, we just need a little patience. I promise that as soon as this is fixed and all pools are updated and able to handle the traffic without any problems, I will start immediate action to resize Nitro even if it angers the miners, as this will be their responsibility for the community as well. well said, all the wheels are in motion now. The new devs have already started coding yesterday. But we are still short 1,4 btc guys, Paulgr and I are both putting 10k utc on it for the 20k utc that was part of deal.... Finally you get the whole picture about marketing "our coin" ...and next to this as a fellow Dutchman, as a serious big UTC Miner since day one, as UTC Bag Holder (still did didn't sell one of my +220K of UTC coins) and as a UTC Believer I feel good what the UTC community pull's together. Again and again... Keep up the good work as our UTC Captain. Our "Captain America"  If I can be of any sort of help pm me and maybe I can.... well we still need some btc to pay these devs |

yes, i was a bit overwhelmed when i got a bit more on my plate then originally planned, but im rejuvinated now and ready for the tasks at hand! You better get accustomed to this level of detail and strategy,because this is the new direction of Ultracoin. |

I found good devs to do the wallet updates, and this is the timeline :
Stage 1- Update checkpoint and kernel fixes, check client 24-48hrs
Stage 2- Coin control, possible checkpoint server and investigate leveldb. approx 1-2 weeks
Stage 3- Various POS issues patched before implementationStage + wallet upgrade. approx 1-2 weeks after stage 2.
Also a sneaky peaky on the card setting generator.....you ask, we build.
