641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ORA::100% POS Free & Fair distribution|issued NXT AE on: October 08, 2014, 05:37:03 AM
Nice faucet Smiley Like it.

Couple of suggestions/queries.
1.Is there a way to see how much I have accumulated so far, by entering my nxt address?
2.There would be lots of people, who may not reach the 100 mark. Do we still send coins to them at the end of the 1.5M target?
3.Traditionally people dont like keeping their tokens/coins in faucet as there are so many cases of faucet theft and the users end up with nothing for their time.
So users prefer instant transactions. With a 1NXT fee for transaction, at the current rate its not a feasible solution.

How about creating the asset in another framework like NFD, where the coins are very cheap to make the instant transaction possible.
This gives the user a choice to either enter an NFD or NXT address, and if its an NFD address, then the asset is instantly transferred.
This will expose us to the NFD community too.

I hope the faucet can determine if its a NXT or NFD address by looking at the address format somehow, so that it can decide if it has to send an instant transaction or not.
As NFD is a pure clone of NXT, it would be very easy to integrate into our existing faucet system.

End of the day, we are promoting the ORA coin, so I dont think it matters, where the assets are held while we develop the coin.

NFD is an example, it could be any platform where AE is possible and is easy to integrate into the faucet backend code
My 2 cents.

[EDIT]
The only problem I can see is potential double dipping, one with the NXT and another with the NFD address, if there are no IP validation in place.
You could reduce the coins from 3-10 to 2-5, if that matters

I pushed to github the latest cpp code. and a proposed reduction in retarget time reference from one week to eight hours. That should be better for the hashrate spikes. The date is not fixed yet, will most likely change it. Also, we're talking about adaptive interest rate. But that might have to wait until java version is complete. Unless there's much demand for it Wink

Discussion most welcome here

And our dedicated forum http://forum.cachecoin.org/

What do you mean by adaptive interest rate?
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus Launch ~ Logo Contest ~ Giveaway ends July 31st on: July 25, 2014, 02:18:12 PM
The only thing which separated PMC from other coins was its strong community support.
Whether its Sean's outpost charity donation or setting up a new multipool, there were always someone willing to donate and help.
I havent seen the same level of enthusiasm in any other threads, in my short stint with the crypto community.

There were loads of coins with similar free distribution in the recent past and do your research to find out where they are now.
PMC had been though several dumps and its the rich holders who had hold it together until now.
If I were you, I would think twice before slandering their support.

Most of the people in your 800 are looking for a quick pump and dump, I believe,
and within no time the above list will get updated with a new one.

I appreciate the hardwork you had put in for reviving PMC what whats lacking here is the open communication with the community.
You could have posted your reasons for change of terms in the PMC thread and discussed the pros and cons with the community rather than going the PM way.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus Launch ~ Logo Contest ~ Giveaway ends July 31st on: July 25, 2014, 01:27:52 PM
Hello Bluedude,
those funds went to pay loljosh for the initial coin generation.
You can verify that with him quite easily.
I haven't kept a red cent, in fact I've invested more into this coin, for Domain names/VPS.

So please don't infer that I've somehow stolen anyone's BTC.

Afterwards he was unable to perform any wallet modifications or give us a DNS node at the time. He gave us a blank coin and from day one I have been developing this coin on my own.

I'm sorry you weren't included. The reason is because you hid your name on the excel swap list.

The newsletter list was compiled from the list on the public excel document.
As well I see you swapped on July 14th, 6 days after I sent the announcement.

If you would like to speak with me on IRC or via PM I can explain to you exactly why we needed to enact these measures. If you are a fan of reason I believe you might even agree with me  Wink

If there is a good reason for change of terms, you should do the voting by inviting all the community, not just a handful.
We haven't even swapped half the PMC in circulation yet.
There may be people waiting to swap in the last minute, exactly because of the reasons we are having now.
If there is a voting, we need to include the whole community and listen.

To me the decision looks hasty and didnt give the whole community any part in the decision making.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMP] PreminePlus Launch ~ Logo Contest ~ Giveaway ends July 31st on: July 25, 2014, 12:30:53 PM
At the end I asked the community to vote for one of those proposed ratios and we had a majority vote in favor of 3:1.

When did this happen? I didnt see any voting option anywhere?
If you are worried about the 800+ people, why didnt you create your own coin, without the help from PMC community.

You came to the PMC community asking for funds, laid down the terms, the community agreed and once you got the funds
and wallet ready, suddenly you started worrying about the 800+ people?

649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Premine (PMC) Swap to PreminePlus (PMP) on: July 25, 2014, 07:36:13 AM
I think PMP had or even has a chance... but it can't survive forks, transaction reversals, changes of plans etc... I really believed that. I also believed the STRENGTH of PMP was the PMC people who stuck it out until now.... yes, the RICH people who swapped.... That was the rub... TMX thought the rich people would just dump and ruin the coin... I argued the exact opposite... This coin was innovative in the sense it grew out of the original innovation created by creditcoin_CRD i.e "why not simply premine it all and give it away". AND it was to move to a "staking fortransaction fees" model, which also would have been one of a kind... But there is NO WAY PMP will survive someone who keeps changing plans in mid step. I thought I made this 100 percent clear as vodka, but apparently my opinion counts for NOTHING.... so thats it...

Sad to see PMC end like this. This is not what this nice concept deserved.

The dev needed the community to raise funds for creating the wallet and once its done
the community should follow his terms.Nice one Smiley
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Premine (PMC) Swap to PreminePlus (PMP) on: June 25, 2014, 09:53:21 AM
Can I send the coins directly from the exchange to the burn address?
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: June 18, 2014, 04:13:48 AM

I just had a quick thought that I wanted to throw in so that I can see your opinion on the topic: How about we do part IPO, part giveaway? That meaning, everyone may get a certain amount of giveaway coins, let's say X coins. Those that want more coins are then able to buy more coins in an IPO which is set at a fixed price (let's say 10 cents per coin, I am just throwing numbers around).

The next step: After we have put these 250k coins into the wild, the price for the next IPO will be slightly higher and less coins are given out. This has 2 effects that the new coin would really benefit from:
a) Not too many coins are given away freely -> less automatic dumping
b) People who are interested in more coins will choose to buy from the market as long as the price is lower -> PMC price will rise to the IPO cap (best case).
c) We are building towards an initial value of PMP which isn't in the cellar from the beginning on.

Now there are some fragile variables that we would have to decide on if we chose to pick this way of distribution, these mainly being: How many coins (percentage) would be given away in which portions, which percentage held back for the ipo? What should the initial IPO price be and how should it be iterated (if at all)? And a really general but important question: What should we do with the remaining coins of each phase? Destroy them? Take them into the next phase? Something different?

It would be neat if we could start a little discussion about this, I know that there are some people around here that hate the idea to combine Preminecoin with an IPO, but it may actually be benefital for the whole start.

Also, listen to this idea: We could donate a huge portion of the IPO (if not all) to charity. I don't think any coin has done this before and it would get us some great attention.

Ideas, Opinions?

The only problem with the IPO is the lack of a development team.
When people want to invest in a coin, they will look for whats coming next, so that they can make money when the 'next thing' is achieved.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: June 17, 2014, 04:27:48 PM
I also think reducing the number of PMC out there may make the original PMC work more as well...

Not sure about that.
Less PMC means less people mining and eventually the block chain will freeze, as you said before.

PMC might also get delisted from all the exchanges, if there is not enough volume to keep it alive.
So I dont see the point in holding any PMC once PMP goes live.

653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: June 17, 2014, 02:49:28 PM
I still don't get why there has to be a huge giveaway or a giveaway at all. From an investor's point of view this is pure poison.
Coin's supply would had been dramatically shortend, if there was only a swap. In Your scenario there will be even more coins.

PremineCoin was born of the idea you 'premine em all and give them all away'. At the time 'premine' was a dirty word. Bringing on scammer accusations etc etc...

This is PreminePlus...  we carry on that original idea.. we GIVE away em all.. just like before... with the slight exception of previous PMC holders have a sort of IPO stake in this new coin ( if they desire ) with the swap.

Just like the word "premine" was a dirty word during the PMC distribution,
the words "free giveaway" is having the same effect at present.

There are so many of them around, most of them gets manipulated by sock puppet accounts and none of them has succeeded yet.
Only time will tell, if we are making the same mistake twice.

Guys, help me decide.

These are mockups, but one will be implemented.
Eventually the layout of buttons is going to change as well (and additions will be made).

Let's hear thoughts.

I am not too happy with the whole flashy design, it's neat but not made to reach the masses. I know that I am actually in no place to complain as you do all the work, but could you try something more minimalistic?
Can we try a simple white letters on a black background design, if its not of too much difficulty?

I've been saying this for a while now but we need a new ANN where everything is laid out for all to see.

+1

A structured OP, with all info included/updated on daily basis. At this moment OP is a mix of old and new

+100

That would be really useful for new people like me as I dont have to troll through the 400 pages to see what exactly is going on.

I am trying to catch up on whats happening with C2
Sorry about my newbie questions in advance.

1. I had like 33K coins in mintpal before the attack and I still have 33K coins after the 40% increase in the total coins.
So who is getting these extra coins?

2. So now we have 100M + Staked coins, all of which has to be converted to Coin2.1.
Should we put like a swapping period of 1month or so and then destroy the unswapped coins for transparency.
(Of course after leaving some for bounty) In the last conversion, I know of at least one person who didnt convert and I have no idea what happend to his coins.

I have no problem in leaving 8 or 10 million for bounties in a wallet everyone could see and if we can account for the remaining coins in a transparent way,
we could avoid all these trolls and fuds.

I have got 2K coins from the free distribution.
Is there going to be a second wave of distribution?

Am I allowed to sell it now?
