This is a total clusterfuck and so far I get blank stares or told I'm lying.
It just keeps NOT doing 8 rounds, doing 1 instead, then starting over and charing me fees again... Eventually, the wallet will be empty from fees.
I had the exact same issue I kept getting hit with denominate fees. Upon installing .31 it stopped. I'm using .31 I think it's because everyone who is having no problems has less than 900DRK in their wallet. Mine is broken up and denomed only 900 at a time, and it never does the 8 like it's set to do. It does 1. Then starts all over again.... Sorry, but you are not giving out the details we need to troubleshoot. Can you please post a screenshot of your: * transaction tab * inputs tab(using list view) * your main tab showing anonymized / non anonymized. * Link to the Pastebin of your debug.log * Your options window Make sure you blur out any addresses / info you dont want us to see though. |

I have been in testnet since the beginning and with the latest RC4 v31 I can now say IT WORKS on main-net!!!!
8 Rounds fully denominated perfectly, no performance issues or lagging in Windows binaries!!!

Is IP obfuscation through masternodes enabled with RC4? Or is it RC5 material?
Its conceptual at this point - if he's started coding it he hasn't mentioned it to me. RC5 will most likely seek to a address whatever issues Kristov uncovers (if any) first and foremost. Once the dust from RC4 settles we'll look at laying out a more formal road map. Initially we planned a pretty heavy PR push for RC4, but as time went on it became clear that it would be premature. It's also burned us in the past and heavily magnified perfectly normal development setbacks. Look for some formal PR to come out once Evan and co. have had a couple days to iron out any kinks that pop up on mainnet. Definitely agree with this approach. Once we stabilise mainnet, pools update and masternodes update to latest version and everyone can get 8 rounds going. So far so good for RC4 - just a few smaller bugs to iron out! Then we can go mental on PR |

There were a few small ones and he also improved anonymity. So I would say it was NOT an not announcement of final release date as he only mentioned it in the testnet thread and not all over forums twitter etc as the day to update. Dont start this "he is late" bullshit... Frankly I dont give a shit if its released in 2 weeks time, I would rather get it right, no other coin comes even close. They cant even produce proper diagrams lol |

looks like .01 might become the new floor with rc4 release
if successful May price levels wil look like small change... Still, price is wayy down. There needs to be a major change to recover to older prices. i for one dont want to see a big price jump.... thats always bad... slow... steady price movement is what is needed... with the price increase connected to proven technology implementation. Im not sure if a steady price movement can happen, coin supply is limited once we start going back to previous levels. Last time when the price sky rocketed - there was hardly any masternodes and 4.5 million coins. Now we have over 850 masternodes which means 20% off the coin is off the market. Not to mention when its proven to work, no one will sell unless you are mentally unstable - most will wait for merchant adoption to raise demand and add liquidity to the market which will make selling much easier. |

I don't see a problem really with shitcoins apart from the PR one - the worthy coins get tarnished with the crap. But crypto is evolution in a crucible, both for the tech and for the 'investors'  Pop into certain other coin threads here and you'll see that there are fools lining up to have their money taken from them, they can't get enough of empty promises, snippets of fake IRC dev chat, and silly diagrams. While idiots continue to buy obvious garbage, scammers will keep profiting from them. I have started a thread on this subject and also wrote a blog post, because I have noticed that there's a "witch hunt" against altcoins starting in BTCtalk (e.g. here and here). It makes no sense, IMO, that some of the BTC people are so against altcoins. For example, if you talk about Darkcoin in other threads some bitcoiners start insulting you out of nothing! But to my surprise, some of these aggressive anti-altcoin bitcoiners are quite pro-LTC  why is that? There are scammers everywhere, unfortunatelly, but some people use the scammers as the excuse to try to start a nazi fight against the altcoins... and I don't doubt that these same people's real intention is to fight against cryptocurrencies in a whole (BTC included). BTW, I tend to abhor the stupid dictatorial arrogance shown by some intolerant (dishonest?) people... I prefer better open discussion propositions for the community like this one, or this one, for example. btce mods and their trolls have a big passion for ltc and hate for drk. naturally you would be quite protective of something you can see thats dying at the hands of a better solution |

And also, dos attack sounds highly inefficient because even if you'd get all the other nodes out, the data you're grabbing with your own nodes will mostly be uninteresting to you, and the trail will end very soon because the funds are constantly being anonymized. A script which monitors your node's status and launches a new node on a different service operator if needed could also be developed.
I don't know whether masternode owners turning against each other is plausible, as that kind of activity would affect the coin valuation negatively, so I doubt the incentive is there, but we'll see.
I don't really understand what's the problem with 1. is though. People use different addresses for different purposes. Those who don't, won't risk other users unless I'm misunderstanding something.
Well no, if you read about the 2nd part you would see that DDOS-ing 1000 MNs isn't even that hard. Well i'm interested if one of them has some input on the matter. As for this: Outputs can still be linked to addresses. If you send 20 DRK and it sends all these other outputs along with it to obfuscate, the 20 DRK still ends up in someone's address. That this can be observed on the blockchain means that analysis is easy, and we all know how often people leak addresses associated with their wallet (eg. posting it up for giveaways etc. etc.) This is an immutable problem in any Bitcoin-forked cryptocurrency that exists, as the solution (stealth addresses computed w/random data) has to be enforced for every transaction from the genesis block. If you enforce it halfway through you're stuck with old outputs that don't use stealth addresses, which makes it exceedingly complex to ensure the anonymityset is not at-risk. DRK has enforced it halfway is what he was trying to say. He said that these are just his concerns. I would like to watch a discussion between him and our developers, that would be interesting. You can try and DDoS my masternodes, which have DDoS protection - If that fails, I will just get new IP addressess allocated or switch providers within an hour or two. This has no effect on anonymity as majority of users will have pre-denominated funds sitting in their wallets ready to spend. So I pose the question how long can they go on trying to hit moving targets - its a non-issue |
