you keep saying it is going to take off and I keep thinking about how it is going to happen ? just look at the shameless book order, there is no support whatsoever.... and the 1000 DRK MN obligation doesn't make sense, 1000 MN means 1 million DRK is tight up which is just ridicules.
Ridiculous based on what? DRK needs them to perform anonymizing functions. There also needs to be a "bunch, but not too many" of them. If you take away the incentives for running one, you likely end up with most of the owners being people that just want to snoop. If you leave rewards but take away the requirement, you get an unknown (but really, really large) amount of (likely) inferior nodes.

What do you think of i2p? Monero is gonna work with them.
God I hope not for the sake of the i2p guys. It took the XMR clowns months to build a basic GUI. I put together my own DRK wallet in a about five hours, knowing jack about QT.

There are tons of anon solutions out there right now, and some superior to DRKs. If you think DRK is going to keep its current marketcap when other coins are advancing beyond DRK... Think again. First mover advantage doesn't necessarily last forever.

This coin was pumped to the stratosphere and it's holding surprisingly strong. Many other altcoins are going to shit. I'm waiting for The Whale to show again when RC4 arrives. Or him not showing. Interesting days ahead

DRK price seems way too high for me as of now too, similarly, XMR price seems way too low, I think things will get more equal naturally over time.
Perhaps. Luckily, the market will sort those things out for everyone, so there's no need to fight about it!

Quit replying to people like this! This guy obviously can't tell the difference between his head and his ass. Hopefully he will wander over to "the other coin" that is playing around with the TOR network. Good luck with TOR! I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot poll.

To be fair, I think it's being delayed due to a proper blockchain database not existing presently, rather than simply not being able to create GUI (I mean, if crouton can do it, ANYONE can (being a Brit and all (even though he might be one of the smartest ones))).

The whale's buying power was almost always off the book. Nothing, in terms of book order, indicated that DRK would go from 0.0011 to 0.025+. As for the 1000 DRK obligation, it makes absolute sense as a disincentive for owning many nodes and deanonymizing transactions. Otherwise DRK would be DOA if anybody could make a large number of nodes and map everything out with small or zero cost. The cost is the game theory component that allows the anonymity to work with a very low percentage risk of deanonymization - over a large number of rounds. As for what will happen post-RC4, the market and the whales will decide. If the whales decide that they want DRK to reach all-time-high levels and beyond, so it will be. If not, it won't. BTW the order-book is thin on the upside too. Darkproton bought a few thousands and took it from 0.01 to 0.013 for the lulz a few weeks ago.

Not sure what a blockchain database has to do with making some clickable buttons that do things instead of typed CLI commands... no, I think XMR developers cut'n'pasters are just plain clueless.
