What is happening with Atletico Madrid?
I write right now in the Champions League thread about them, because i was having high hopes of seeing them winning against Inter Milan, but man they are playing horrible right now. And they are not longer so effective in defense like in the past, seems like they are suffering so much for not having Griezman in the starter 11.
They have been really messy lately, only getting a draw against Almeria and losing to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey, currently they're 1 goal behind even though time is running out. I don't think we can expect much for their second leg in the UCL, how can they beat Inter if they just play against Cadiz, they can fall behind and haven't even been able to score a goal until now. I am not surprised because since the start of the season Atletico Madrid has not found its best performance, plus this team has not been able to maintain its consistency For the second leg against Inter Milan in the Champions League, I don't think there are big hopes for Atletico Madrid because in fact the two teams are in inversely proportional form. I forgot about Atalanta being only one point behind Roma yeah, you are right about it.  They also have a chance to go for top four despite its being a bit more difficult than the other teams mathematically. But in these eleven weeks left in the season anything can happen really. Atalanta could also manage to close the gap of five points with Bologna. However I just don't like their performance recently. They lost eight points in their last three games. They could have technically been at the fourth place now. If they don't make improvement in their performance I'm afraid they will probably lose their chance earlier than Roma.  That's the reason and we don't just look at the difference in points but also at the team's performance which makes it impossible to compete. Atalanta continues to experience a decline in performance in the last few matches which has kept them further away from the top 4 positions. I think the most likely ones to compete for the top 4 positions in the standings are only Roma and Bologna and these two teams are currently in pretty good form even though Roma is 4 points from Bologna but this is still possible to happen because this season there are still 11 matches left, still quite a lot of points will be up for grabs. |

It is like Leverkusen are fighting for every title they can achieve at the moment and this is amazing to watch. They technically have a chance to win three titles this season if I'm not wrong. The Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Europa League titles. They have been showing a quite decent performance in these tournaments as well. The Qarabag game yesterday started a little bit unexpectedly though but Leverkusen still managed to equalize the score. I assume they would finish the job in the second leg nicely. They are in the semi finals phase of DFB Pokal and getting so close to announcing their Bundesliga title too. It would be a huge start for Xabi Alonso to his career if he achieves titles. It is possible for Leverkusen to continue making surprises until the end of the season, I thought Leverkusen would experience their first defeat in the first leg of the Europa League against Qarabag but the mentality of this team was extraordinary, they managed to equalize at the end of the match. These results make it even easier for Leverkusen in the second leg. Nothing can be predicted with certainty in football and Leverkusen has done its best to be able to get a draw with a goal in the last minute which is proof of the Leverkusen team's mentality which is quite strong.
