Hi, Just wondering if everybody on here has heard of and is using Ecosia as a search engine. I've been using it for a while now, it plants trees with around 80% of its profits, and has planted 4m so far. I helped them out with a few things a couple of years ago, they might still remember me - once I get a bit more involved in this coin and know more about it - maybe I can help push from another front. It would be amazing if you could help, starmman. Yes, as Gabi said, ecosia caught our attention early after launch. It is very much on topic, no need to apologize. EGC would be very proud to be involved with ecosia. I do think the ecosia would be a great partner for EGC, but what would be the main benefits of collaboration? It could give both parites some added exposure which is of course nice, but not really enough to be the main selling point imo. So mainly just for my own curiosity, does anyone have any good arguments or ideas that would that could add value to both projects? The value EGC seeks to gain is only helping their tree planting efforts in anyway. On ecosia's side, I thought it would be helpful to them by rewarding searches with, not only the satisfaction of helping the tree planting efforts, but also a (very) small amount of EGC. Of course, this idea would involve much work as some sort of registration would need to happen to associate searches with an EGC address to send the "compensation", if you will, to. After the one time registration on the search engine, a cookie could remain persistent on the device so as to not slow future searches and still maintain the rewarding of the search. I feel people would and do use ecosia for the feel good of helping the efforts. But, like you said, might quickly jump to a larger search engine once that feeling is established. I would argue that not only might this bring added traffic that will give them more funding for development to enrich the experience but it expands this good feeling to not only include helping tree planting efforts, but helping one's self. This helping of one's self would keep traffic returning. The fact is, it would take development time and resources on ecosia's end. Of course, EGC is willing to donate the EGC to supply this and help with development in any way ecosia staff would permit or request. Again, the only thing EGC seeks is the pride, and yes, exposure of helping their efforts. So this is what I have been discussing with Ecosia. But first this is how the things are currently running on Ecosia: 1-You search the web with Ecosia. 2-Search ads generate income for Ecosia. 3-Ecosia uses this income to plant trees. What I have suggested as a partnership: 4-Ecosia users are rewarded with the EverGreenCoin for each search ( converting saved trees into EverGreenCoin- a green cryptocoin that has been created to promote green causes and support environmental movements such as wildfire damaged forestry and wildlife rehabilitation ). 5- If you can hold the wallets, you can have %7 interest of the Evergreencoin and you can keep the %7 or use it to plant more trees. Not to mention that a partnership with Evergreencoin can act as incentive in using ecosia.org as their favorite search engine. This way, more users would adopt both Ecosa and also the Evergreencoin. Maybe after EGC gains more traction ( price at least 1$, more media exposure, more side-projects), maybe, just maybe, it will hit Ecosia's radar, and they will consider partnering with EGC. I guess we will have to wait and see. |

So this is dedicated to all EverGreenCoin early adopters/users/DEVS/newcomers. My humble initiative, a social media platform to unite us all. So, a few days ago, the EGC price skyrocketed. So I was thinking: I am somehow rich, holding more that 50K of EGC. But something was missing. I couldn't interact with other EGC users. So I have been talking to a small printing firm here in Iasi-Romania and they can help us print the t-shirts and the mugs. So, Steven what do you say, should we expand the evergreencoin t-shirts in Europe as well? I can print them here in Romania and ship them in the whole Europe, I only need the printing files. I guess this is a good time to do this. Oh, and I am also working on a side project for EGC, a social media platform where we all can chat and discuss about everything, an alternative to SLACK, with message history but it is still on progress, it might take a day to complete:) As for the strato flight and the solar miner, they will be done, however we have a few weeks of bad weather ( rainy, cloudy) in Romania and launching the balloon is impossible, as the forecast changes at 2-3 days and we need at least 5 days to announce the authorities, and I cannot test the solar miner as I don't get the sun for let's say 7-8 hours straight per day and the battery is not fully charged, so the tests are not that exact. hi dev, hi all .. I seemed not to believe that the campaign Offline T-Shirt "EvergreenCoin On The Fast Payment Method" will get a purchase. I've noticed when I got back to my desk and this T-Shirt to get 1 buyer with 2 T-Shirt .. that means 2/50 provided has successfully sold .. .. woww was a good beginning. Gabi as saying "All for one and One for all". it is very unusual in this community. I also want to say that 50% of the $ profit sale will I contribute to the EGC Foundation. it might be able to help the Foundation in developing Projects EGC future. Dev /Stev knows better what EGC need. and that means everyone who bought T-shirts etc, have participated in helping the Fondation obtain needed capital. As much as I like the commitment of the main dev and whoever is helping him, but isn't 4 different coins not a bit too much to develop and maintain for one man alone?
I have my concerns about it, but maybe I'm wrong.
I think the same. If your goal that you want to reach is high enought for EGC you don't need so much other Coin Projects. And you will not have the time to work for all Projects if you really want to start and sucess with a big Project like EGC. You are right, my days do entail a great deal of juggling and beyond the 4 mentioned projects. I do have teams and other contributors to help and new teams will be and are forming. I am often times, perhaps all times, the one left willing to face a community when things get tough. Not a position I like to be in or be put in but, abandoning is not in my nature. The good thing to be gained through tough times is you find out who is reliable to form a true team and not just opportunists seeking personal gains. I am actively delegating out more and more tasks to people that have proven they can be trusted to carry them out. Case in point and relevant to the EGC community, I have, as of this morning, contracted with SciFiDomains to develop the new EGC website. A task that has fallen off my plate for far too long. Similar delegating of tasks are taking place on other projects as well. No, I can not do it all. What I can do is form working relationships with the trustworthy and reliable people that can help get it all done and be willing to continue even during less fortunate times. This is what I am doing. This is how it will all get done. This is how our goals will be achieved. EDIT: SciFiDomains is the company that the BCT user portdavenport is associate with. As of now, I can tell you the cost for this was extremely small for all that will be gained. Port negotiated EGC a great discount for this service. Half was paid for by the EGC Foundation and half by me personally. More details will be released soon. I only mentioned it at this time because the mentioned concern is valid and I want you all to know it is being addressed. Hi all. After 3 weeks of pause( I am a proud father of a baby girl and it-s amazing how a little child can take up all your time), I am coming back with the updates for the strato flight and the solar miner.
For the strato flight: The thing is that in Romania it is raining for some time with high winds/ rain warnings in several cities next to me so even here is nice, in the next city is not and vice versa. So for example if i launch it from here on a sunny weather, when it goes to the next city it would be tricky to retrieve it:(
For the solar miner: I have some possible designs for a 3d printed frame for the mini solar panels. It's way more cheaper to design your own panel (a panel that has the desired wattage) rather than buying one.
So I writing you guys to let u know that we are still pursuing the plans.
And for those that have issues with the wallet, don't be scared and walk away, just download the latest version, leave it open for a few hours and you are set:)

Hi guys,
So I have been using a Hwoyee 3000 balloon filled with 6.37 m3 of helium. I had a tank pressured @ 200 bar = 9,1 m3 of helium.
I have used 140 bar= 6,37 m3.
The payload was 2200grams.( nacelle + radar reflector + cord+sealing silicone+duct tape)
The atmospheric pressure was 106 kpa and this is 795 mmhg. Normal atm pressure is 760mmhg.
I suppose catching the the balloon and refill it could have been the solution, but after a good run in the mud, the flight window expired, and did not wanted to loose all the equipment( cameras, the RPI, the hdmi display, etc). I have used a little more helium to compensate the little rain that started just before the go-no go window.
Noting is lost, I have learned a lot from this experiment and will try next time to use a scale as well so I can better manage the amount of helium used for the balloon.
I will fly EGC in stratosphere, I will not give up. This project deserve this. I know this, you know this, we all know this.
And that's a promise.

Hi all and sorry for the late reply, but I had a rough week.
We had a balloon, up until ~170 meters, as the atmospheric pressure didn't helped us to reach higher altitudes, so we had a floater.
We did however captured the balloon and the whole setup, after 40 minutes of chase. It had a rough landing on a pond, then the pond grass, then a wheat field, then it bumped into a wire fence, then it took another hit ( eaves).
The good thing is that after a good run in the mud, we did catch it, the cameras are ok, and we have a few funny moments of the whole thing getting hit after hit:).
It was a 250 Euro flight, as we had to release the helium. We had only a specific timeframe to release it, in order to comply with local regulations, but we are not giving up. We will have another flight, in June, on good conditions: temp, wind, atmospheric pressure .
I will soon release the footage as well.
As this is a first flight, there are a lot to learn from it, and I will surely launch the EGC up in the skies.

Hi all. Yes, this is true. There are a lot of things to think about and you need to work diligently for a project like this. You need to think ahead and predict everything. I had to submit all the papers ( flight approvals) once more as I have cancelled the launch. So the Airport need to be closed( in case of an emergency landing) all the planes need to be redirected to the closest airport- 200 km away. I had to submit a detailed report of all systems/ devices used in the space box: gps, APRS system, radiation counter( geiger tube), parachute diameter, balloon diameter, the size of the radar reflector, datasheet of balloon, flight path, lauch site, launch coordinates, recovery team: how many people, what equipment are they using to trace the balloon, etc. Not to mention about the "crypto" side of the project. Here in Romania, they are treating everything related to crypto with a high dose of skepticism, so I had to explain what EGC is, what system will I use to make the transaction, etc. The launch site, my hometown, Iasi, is located 25 km E close to the border with Moldavia and 200 Km N close to Ukraine. So I don't want to start an international mess:)) ( joking). I only have flight approval for Romania and it would be a huge effort to get a flight approval for 2 countries, no to mention about traveling to an unknown terrain and search for a 30cm x30 cm box:) There are also the regulations for radio-amateur Dual Band Two-Way Radio. I am broadcasting on 144.8 Mhz, using a Baofeng uv-5 so there are different regulations on Ukraine and Moldavia, and again, I don't want to mess arround:) And there is my raspbery pi2, my gopro hero 4, and ion air pro2. and the 7 inch hdmi touchscreen. So I really really want to recover them all from Romania:) So, yes, it's only a balloon launch, but there's much to think about and make it all work. And I am happy and thankful to you all for all your support and for your understanding. These days have been full of testing and testing and more testing. Oh, and one more thing: 700 paper wallets will be distributed during the launch. I have printed them and here's the picture:)  |

I know that you have been waiting for the solar EGC miner  It is also true that we're busy working on multiple projects at once while having our 9 to 5 job. But I am telling you this: it's possible to have a day job while also pursuing your true passion on the side. So I have ordered a 5" HDMI display and continued the work for the solar miner. After 28-th of April, you will see more updates regarding the solar EGC miner. Here's a photo with the newly installed Ubuntu Mate on a Raspberry pi2 and the EGC wallet syncing  Later edit: the display is only for me to play around and have a complete system for testing. The final solar miner would be only with the Raspberry pi 2 and a custom made solar panel rig.
