I'm pretty new to DRK. Do you guys think the big dumper is the old developer? InternetApe? Has this been confirmed at all?
Ape dumped 160k at $0.2 If you don't mind me asking, why do you need a new account to post here? Is the previous one connected to your real identity? Might be gmaxwell. There are likely a number of BTC zealots to whom it is slowly becoming apparent that a heavily regulated, centralised, transactional slug is not what they originally signed up for. actually MisfiringNeuron mentions it in his very first post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg9943528#msg9943528 Hi DarkCoiners. I'm a early adopter of BTC and after the recent Coinbase debacle where they banned someone for how they used their coins, it finally clicked how important anonymity is. I'm creating this new account for my interactions with this community as I want to keep my other account strictly for BTC.
I've purchased a couple thousands DRK and will be setting up masternodes soon.
I'm excited that I finally get it and have Coinbase to thank.

I'm pretty new to DRK. Do you guys think the big dumper is the old developer? InternetApe? Has this been confirmed at all?
so far i understand there was always one main developer : Evan Duffield, InternetApe official function was that of Darkcoin Network Developer / Network Engineer of Darkcoin http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/FAQ#Who_is_behind_Darkcoin.3FWho is behind Darkcoin? Evan Duffield (eduffield on bitcointalk.org) is the creator and main developer of Darkcoin. Kyle Hagan (InternetApe on bitcointalk.org) is the Network Engineer of Darkcoin. Up to June 2014, Duffield has developed DarkSend (the anonymity module of Darkcoin), the masternode payment voting system, the X11 chained-hashing-algorithm (which has become the favorite hashing algorithm for 2014 among GPU miners) and the difficulty adjusting algorithm DarkGravityWave which builds upon the KGW concept through a different implementation that solves the time-warp problem. He is committed to the active development of Darkcoin as a full-time job for at least until January of 2016. He has stated that the development plan includes anonymity enhancements, IP obfuscation and mainstream features aside from anonymity. You can read more on how the creator started the Darkcoin project here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/the-birth-of-darkcoin.162/ Personally i dont have any idea who is dumping so much lately or why .. people involved in IRC chats would probly know more. I just hope he is finished by now. edit : for newcomers like yrself the provided link to the wiki site is probly a good place to get more info about Darkcoin.

Don't forget to filter out the dross...
To Raptor_73 Stonehedge means setting Currencies on Filter Non-Mineable and Premined .. thats really our direct competition. But its nice to see Darkcoin in the green numbers and all other coins in yr pic in the red.

Will be able to chat via darkcoin wallet in the future?
right now there is a focus on improving Darksend mixing and implementing InstantX, we dont know yet what other ideas / services the developers have in mind for Darkcoin to place on top of the MN network... we just have to wait and see what those ideas are. Maybe anonymous chatting could be one of those ideas / services .. or maybe not.

Darksend anonymizing taking FOREVER. I set 30 drk with 4 rounds, after 10 hours, only 28% finished? Glad I did not set it for 500 drk. I started this job at 2014-12-27 05:00

Yeah, the Darkcoin team is focussing right now on making the Darksend mixing more fluid, faster and with better feedback towards users, its their number 1 priority right now and its progress can be followed here : https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commits/v0.11.0.xWe just have to wait till v0.11.0.x hits Testnet so we can test it, send possible bug reports before it can get released to Mainnet.

Man I didn't have any BTC available during the christmas slip in price so I didn't get to buy discounted DRK yeah, i think its safe to conclude the days of very cheap DRK are over, although nothing is set in stone ofc with regards to cryptocurrency and its markets.

another 2.8K buy wall joined at Cryptsy 2.8K at 0.0062 3.2K at 0.0061 Edit 0: okay, things change fast... buy walls retracted and a buy wall of 11.4K has formed at 0.006 also a bit upward buying is developing. Edit 1: make that a lot of upward buying Edit 2 : 11.4K buy wall got retracted. But thats one big buy wall thats out there in theory and could be formed again in seconds..

nice to see the MN payout increase to 35% having an effect on the global statistics ( https://drk.mn/blocks.html), more than 1/3 of total supply for last 24H go to MN payouts now Now if we take the 7% decrease in total supply into account for the exact same numbers we arrive at the following numbers late januari 2015 (after the 7% decrease has gone into effect) Total Supply for last 24H (with 7% decrease) : 2770.8 DRK Total payouts to MN (with 35%) : 969.8 DRK (this is with 99.63% blocks payed)

Sorry about off-topic but has anyone here used ripple. I have some ripple which I want to get rid of but cannot send them to Bitstamp from my desktop client. I add my Bitstamp ripple address and destination tag but it is stuck at "Scanning accepted currencies". If i manage to dump those ripple I will get half a masternode at least Help is appreciated. We had one guy in here (i forgot who) trying to get into Ripple but he got so frustrated by the whole process that he gave up in the end i think. If you dont get an answer here i suggest you try at the Ripple forum .. i assume they have a bitcointalk forum or some other forum.

I really don't understand why he flushed bitcoins down the toilet like that. Everything was going according to plan at 590k as people were already dumping constantly. It's not like DRK is going mainstream tomorrow lol
maybe he is in a hurry to setup some MN's .. with the 35% MN payout and all. The market already dumped 40-50btc's into that wall in just a few hours and it's not like he was setting up a masternode per minute yeah, that was not one of my strongest replies

since the wall is buying, and climbing, it looks very legit.
buy wall on Cryptsy gone now edit : oh wait, it just popped up at price 0.0059550 edit : oh my.. whale is getting a bit impatient moved up to 0.0060980 Camped at 61 ATM. Same thing happened a few days ago. i was thinking about the Darksend mixing which is under review to make it more fluid, faster and with better feedback towards users .. what if the wallet could give its users a visual signal when it detects a lot of mixing going on? That way people who need to do some Darksend mixing for themself will know it will be a good time to join the mixing right then and there.
Think of it like a traffic light, if its on green it means a lot of mixing going on while if its on red there is little to no mixing going on.
I like this idea - the client can pull the hashespersec from the network, it could pull some kind of mixing stat too and present it on the overview page in realtime, people are suckers for shiny flashing lights. Such data might even be useful to the devs? Client doesn't pull [network] haspersec, it's calculated from diff https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/blob/master/src/rpcmining.cpp#L17However every client is aware of mixing queue so maybe we can use this info in some way actually... thanks guys, for taking it into consideration / thinking about it.
