How is your version of a compliment different?
Report it if you feel it needs to be removed. I think the difference is that most of your posts are one sentence and generally not needed. Although, not all of your posts. You do have some which were okay.

If you use a common keyword when searching, you may get many results. So filter the results by going to advanced tools and set dates.

Yes, you can use others as well, some examples would be:

Useless posts, they don't add to discussion. The first one is simply a "+1" post disguised with two words. You know very well why they were deleted.

Check out mprep's thread it will go over why your post was deleted.

So the search function is still offline? can it be repaired soon (and as it's something of real importance it shouldn't take as long as avatars repair took "∞")
Just use Google to search for now. Google is much better than the search function on here. Although, the search function can be useful at times.

use:
Code:
site:bitcointalk.org <search>
6425  Other / Meta / Re: necro threads on: January 26, 2015, 11:21:16 AM
Necros aren't against the rules.

Necro should only be reported if there's no valuable or relevant information in them and are clearly a pointless or useless post. They are allowed if it's contributing to the discussion and following the rest of the forums rules. If you believe it's not, report them.

Posting on the thread reminding people that it's a necro would be contributing to the forums noise, so you might be trying to solve one problem but, adding to it. Just report any post you consider not constructive and a useless post. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of people doing it just to pad their post count, and I always report those and they get dealt with within a few hours at the most.

6427  Other / Meta / Re: bot made accounts on: January 25, 2015, 02:08:18 PM
Though I'm not entirely against whitelisting first posts I think it's a bit overkill and this would be a hell of a lot more work for mods. I think having a captcha for the first few posts would be a better option though some bots would likely still slip through the cracks though they're manageable.
I agree. Like I said in my previous posts, it's not really affecting the majority of the community at the moment. They are being dealt with swiftly. All the people it is affecting only need to report the thread. The suggestion was something which would in theory work to some extent, but would be a hassle for some moderators. As long as people are reporting these bots, then there's no real concern unless they get out of hand. But, I can't see that happening as you would only need a few extra moderators to handle the workload.

I think putting any post in a queue when a newbie includes a link, could be something to consider though. There shouldn't be too many posts which have links in them and the ones that normally do are referrals, virus or these bots. I know there are valid reasons for links too, that's where the whitelist would come into effect, again I don't really know how busy moderators are so can't really assume that this would be efficient and this system wouldn't justify getting more moderators.
6428  Other / Meta / Re: bot made accounts on: January 25, 2015, 09:52:28 AM
The only thing I could think of is having the very first posts of a newbie to be whitelisted, via the mods. Therefore, the public wouldn't see it, but the moderators would. This could become overwhelming quickly though. You want to try and keep the restrictions to a minimum. Even this system isn't that great I can see a few reasons why it would be a problem. Maybe, if a user posts a link while they are a newbie, that's the only time it will appear in the whitelist queue. Thus, eliminating normal users from censorship (there would be complaints about this no doubt) obviously, there would be workarounds for this.

I still think there's not much need as they do get handled quickly and without much fuss.  It's annoying yes.

Maybe the 40% of newbies account don't have bitcoin , the "unique" solution would be the newbie jail.
That would just spam the newbie jail, it would be concentrated in one area rather than all over the board. It would make it easier to spot, but moderators and some users do report via the patrol page so it that case it wouldn't be much of a difference. The newbie section is quite useful for new comers that actually have a sensible question or topic to discuss. I disagreed with removing the newbie jail at first, but it was a better move and I back the idea of keeping it from returning.

Proposal : fee of 0.001 to make a new account, re-distributed every week to exisiting members that posted since the last draw.
Not every newbie has money before coming to the forum, they come to the forum to learn about Bitcoin, ask questions and get into discussion before they even think of purchasing any BItcoin. It might not be a lot of money, but I don't think this is the answer.
6429  Other / Meta / Re: bot made accounts on: January 25, 2015, 09:33:43 AM
Just report them. They usually get dealt within a few minutes if you report them. They seem to come in waves though and then die off for a while and then come back again. There's no easy way to prevent this, if we restricted personal text and signature they can still post, if we stop newbies opening a thread they'll just post in a already made topic. At the moment they get dealt wiith pretty quickly, so not a lot of people will see their personal text or signature unless you are looking through the member list or the modlog.

Well this will remove the language barriers and will make the forum unique too!

I hardly use my PC to open this website and so using plugins is not a good idea.
Nothing is absolutely necessary but it would be good if someone can make this happen!
It would become annoying for the users who do speak the language. It looks messy when something is translated. My native language isn't translated very well. A lot of words work in some sentences but, don't in others he though the meaning in English is correct, in Welsh it looks ridiculous. I should imagine a lot of the other languages are too. I've started learning Norwegian which is another one which doesn't translate all that well. It's not needed, if you want to get the gist of something someone is saying just copy it and input that into google translate, you can do that on whatever platform you have.
6431  Other / New forum software / Re: Trust References on: January 24, 2015, 04:16:06 PM
I don't see why this would be a problem. I'll bring it up when we get to this.
Great! Thanks for this.
6432  Other / New forum software / Re: Auto Translate on: January 24, 2015, 11:16:28 AM
Someone could just use google, or google translator. The point is that these aren't very accurate. Especially when a language has a lot of mutations. I don't know if you've realized but, it's quite obvious when someone is using google translator because it's very difficult to understand. Some languages it works better than others though.
6433  Other / New forum software / Trust References on: January 24, 2015, 11:13:58 AM
Would we be able to provide multiple references when submitting feedback on a users trust page? At the moment we can only post one url. But most cases have evidence of your claim scattered around the forum. This could be done by either adding a url on a new line or by using commas.
6434  Other / New forum software / Re: Our suggestions - Seriously taken ? on: January 24, 2015, 10:45:48 AM
Thanks for your answers , both of you guys .
Well I never seen them replying to be honest , only on the first pages of this section of the forums . I'am pretty sure that he meant the end of the 2014 (December) , correct ? but We didn't see any demonstrations
Yes, that's what he meant, that's why I said it wasn't accurate. But, I included that link anyway because the link is useful for seeing what progress is being made.

Hi, I am reading this tread because I was rated negative by OP.  Have never had deal with him, he gave this tread refference as a reason. Huh
Don't worry his account carries no weight what so ever, no one will ever take him seriously again. You can simply ignore it. Judging by his responses he can't take criticism very well and being told when he's wrong.
6436  Other / New forum software / Re: Our suggestions - Seriously taken ? on: January 24, 2015, 10:04:34 AM
wangbus does reply to suggestions every now and then, ultimately it's down to theymos what he adds and what he doesn't. wangbus did give us a time for public beta, although seems that it wasn't accurate, although you can follow their progress:

Sorry for lots of questions, and then write what message there? My bitcointalk ID? I have sent my bitcoin address to that ID, considering the idea of prevention is better than cure Cheesy
This thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Basically, when you sign it with that message theymos will be able to verify that you own the private key to that address. So, when signing the message you need to state you have lost your account, include the new email address that you want your account to have and date. It's always good practice to save the message ID, so go to your messages and click outbox, then it will have a summary of all the messages you have sent, in the format of Date/Subject/To. Find your message in this table and click on the subject of that message, look at your url and copy the msg ID.

Code: ( Msg ID example)
#msg1234567

Make sure to make a note of this locally where you can easily find it at a later date. I don't think this is required, just makes it easier for theymos to locate your message.

On 23rd of January I could not open the website and I was trying all the day, Did anyone have a problem similar to mine? What can be the reason?
If something like this happens again, it's best to search the meta section before posting a new topic, because it's likely been/being discussed. Besides, if the forum goes done there will be a explanation posted by the administrators.
6439  Other / Meta / Re: Putting your address in profile field? on: January 24, 2015, 01:23:09 AM
Do you mean we send our bitcoin address to that guy?
Yes, send a address that you are in  complete control of, if you can't access your account for what ever reason you sign the address and send that information to theymos.
6440  Other / Meta / Re: Tomatocage is trust abuser/lier on: January 23, 2015, 10:03:21 PM
Firstly,i have no reason to use you as escrow, consider you are 1000x less trusted than me.
Secondly,i linked you with 15,000+ of my feedback which clearly enough prove who i'm.
People here do abuse trust system and buying accounts, and the admins allow that. Which is big red flag for every single scammer.
Your aggressive nature isn't going to help you. It's all good saying this, but you need to back it up with evidence. Otherwise, your not going to be taking seriously. I don't know how you claim that you are more trusted than TomatoCage, here at this forum I would like to think TomatoCage is much more trusted than you are here, and that's all that matters. No one wants to know what you've done on other websites or outside of the Bitcoin world. But, if you are going to provide evidence that you are trusted from other sources, provide evidence.

What puzzles me is your claim that TomatoCage is the one abusing is powers, when you were
buying negative trust to be put on his profile: Buying negative trust thread
