That really is just priceless, I knew this would happen, they may be able to arrest the person but they can't get at their money like they usually do and keep it for themselves if it's properly encrypted.

When you're greedy, have a ton of money but don't want to spend it for security, this is what happens.

This also proves what I've always thought that these DRM based companies also datafarm peoples' personal information as well.
6447  Other / Off-topic / Re: Adobe hack attack affected 38 million accounts on: October 30, 2013, 11:50:08 AM
This is just another reason in a long list to never trust companies that DRM the shit out of their software, if customers could even pay with Bitcoins and just store their files offline like anything else then everything would be much more secure and it would be down to the owner of the computer and not the company to keep that kind of thing safe.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more companies getting attacked like this in the future, we've already seen that the Playstation Network can be hacked too.
6448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What should be the Goal(s) of Government? on: October 30, 2013, 08:02:40 AM
If we absolutely must have government mine would be:

. Aiding ( not taking over like we have now ) in the defense of its citizens

. Mediating disputes in law or cases of fraud as a neutral third party

. Getting elected as representatives for cases of diplomacy for international purposes, I'm a bit different in that I think we should have direct democracy and the people should have a right to vote on every single law that politicians try to pass, if public opinion outweighs politicians opinions then the law should be stopped

I do pretty much agree with you for the most part except for the public health thing, that's just knowledge if people are taught things properly then the government wouldn't need to do the work. My thing for example is always being suspicious about food that's incredibly cheap, you've got to have a look at where it comes from and how they manage to get it that cheap, if they're being tight lipped, then you don't buy from them because they have something to hide, it's like that with any product.

I've found that many of the problems in this world can simply be solved by not being assholes, if people stopped it then we wouldn't even need any government at all.

6451  Other / Off-topic / Re: So, how do you plan to celebrate Guy Fawkes' day? on: October 29, 2013, 08:44:25 PM
What is this about? We don't have this day over here Shocked

If you're American it's like the 4th of July but for UK history there's this guy called Guy Fawkes ( Who was Catholic I think and if I remember right he had problems with the protestant Christians ) who tried to blow up parliament with gunpowder and for some reason that turned into a celebratory thing over here, I don't know much about the history Cheesy just the boring school version.

oh, here we go, basic wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes

Honestly, I'm too busy right now to even think about anything like this Tongue but once I get money and move out I'm going to let off a few fireworks for lulz and enjoy some sparklers.

Get christmas shopping done as early as possible before the nightmare starts and earn some Bitcoins to rebel against parliament like Guy Fawkes' would have wanted Cheesy
6453  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Bitcoin, Gold or Silver? on: October 29, 2013, 05:57:58 PM
all 3.

I knew someone would get it before me, there's nothing wrong with using all three, I believe that Bitcoin is going to be used for overseas transactions and Gold/Silver for local or wealth preservation, just don't have everything in paper and you'll be fine I'm sure, I think it's also a good idea to take a look at altcoins as well just in case the Bitcoin devs get arrested or something but you have to do your research carefully there.
6454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opportunity mcxNOW : mcxFEES on: October 29, 2013, 08:23:53 AM
Cheesy Interesting timing considering that Realsolid is supposed to be making an announcement about putting a bunch of new mcxFEEs in circulation, trying to dump them on unsuspecting noobs so you can get out without a loss? Smiley
6455  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - It's not a bubble, it's a boom on: October 29, 2013, 08:22:03 AM
Anyone who knows anything about economics and Bitcoin knows that the whole idea of Bitcoin being a bubble is a load of bullshit, you're preaching to the choir Cheesy people in the financial sector have been doing this with the Chinese economy as well Americans in particular were trying to claim that China was a bubble despite the fact that considering they're using paper money their economy is actually being run very efficiently.
6456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I invest $70,000 in Bitcoin? How should I do it? on: October 29, 2013, 08:16:09 AM
It depends on what the terms are set by your parents but getting that much money is a big deal for most people, what I would do is take a relatively small amount, if you want to put it in Bitcoins maybe do it on the dip but with such a chunk of cash you should easily be able to get interest payments rolling in that would make a savings account look like a joke, you just need to be extremely wary of scammers and so on. If I had total freedom, I would take a chunk of it and put it into gold/silver and then another chunk in Bitcoin, all of which would be fairly long term moves but it's much better than leaving it in a bank or with a capital investment firm.
6457  Other / Off-topic / Re: Trust in Government on: October 28, 2013, 09:38:54 PM
I skimmed through your post and trust in government is only as important as people make it out to be, the problem is we've been brought up to believe it is much like with how back in the day everybody was brought up to believe that belief in God is important.
6458  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your favorite car? on: October 28, 2013, 06:10:26 PM
For a sensible car I really like the Mini-Cooper, the only problem it has is it's boot space Sad if I had the money to piss away though I would probably get a top of the range Jaguar XJR.
6459  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Origin of the Human DNA on: October 28, 2013, 04:02:19 PM
I can give you an answer on what I believe but it doesn't match the polling options you put out, we already know that humanity evolved from apes because of scientific evidence but there's a theory out there I find very interesting where scientists think that we are actually evolved from a foreign organism in an asteroid crashing into Earth, this would also go to some way explaining why after all this time we haven't had other species on this planet evolving into sentient life and developing the same brains and thought process we have.

So far I think this is one of the most intelligent theories I've heard yet, much better than all this created out of nothing bullshit we keep hearing about from religious people etc. it might also go to explaining why we haven't seen any other sentients in our galaxy unless of course we've already made contact and our governments are doing their thing of keeping it from us.
6460  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help us take down the Jimmy Kimmel show! Corrupt US citizens. on: October 28, 2013, 03:49:36 PM
You finally get it, you have the right to criticise and mock, you don't have the right to force people not to do it which is what you're advocating by going "This is outrageous blahblahblah, ban it!, blah blah blah!", if you want to set up a site bashing comedians like this constantly feel free but if anyone goes around saying it should be taken down they just look pathetic and petty.
