6481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: September 26, 2019, 05:43:35 PM
We understand that we need some alternatives to bitcoin, but not in such a way that every project wants to establish a coin. if we need altcoins to assist bitcoin in its vision, I must confess to you that we really don't need more than 10 altcoins, same as we don’t even need more than 10 exchanges in the market, but you see majority of shitcoins and shit exchanges flooding the market because they are all after the money and not the help they want to render to bitcoin, so tell me why people would not give up on altcoins?

I would be concentrating on your exchange example but before than, lets take a look at the current fiat currency used around the world. Are they limited nope, all independent nation have theirs some even shared similar names like Canadian dollars and US dollars. Point I'm trying to make is, the cryptocurrency market is a free market and from my recent understanding of importance of the free market (in this past few days), it does contributes much more to the development of an industry. The more altcoins we have the more competition the industry will produce as a result benefiting the market in general.

As for your statement of the industry needing fewer exchange, I don't support that as it does no good to the development of the industry. Power will become centralized to very few exchange which will then dictate the affair of the industry (which we're already experiencing). Onces again the power of free market comes into play. We need as many exchange as possible to decentralized the distribution of power within the exchange industry.
6482  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stock Market vs Crypto Market on: September 26, 2019, 05:14:37 PM
There is a fundamental difference between the cryptocurrency & stock market. So the same techniques won't be the same.

Exactly besides the emotional effect, positive or negative news have on the separate market aren't the same. A positive news toward a particular stock generally leads to a positive movement of the price of that stock although that isn't gauranted with cryptocurrency. A popular example was the hack of Binance exchange which the market reacted positively to, instead of negativity.

The cryptocurrency market is still been influence by emotions that's why, manipulation of price value is still recording a huge success. An observation of the recent 2-3 bitcoin market price movement and you'll observe the market is just been manipulate as there isn't any reasonable explanation behind the decline or increase in price value.
6483  Other / Meta / Re: It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 26, 2019, 11:59:53 AM
It all comes down to the campaign managers and the companies being responsible for their participants..

I think if a paid poster gets banned for spamming then whoever is paying them to do so should recieve a stern warning, meaning the campaign manager and the representetives of the company..

I don't buy into this, it'll be putting too much pressure on the managers, they aren't no AI (LoyceV 😁) to be reviewing every participants post for Plagiarism. Even moderators don't go around the forum searching for plagiarism post and spam for them to review, they work on reported cases. Unless there's an automated system like a bot set in place to handle this, it'll just be a waste of time.

About managers getting punished for the participants posting habit, i think that's fair if the managers are intentionally paying the spammers for their spamming (like Yobit signature campaign). Plagiarism can't be notice that quickly although an offtopic, irrelevant or spam reply can be spotted without any effort so the managers have no excuse in paying for those post, they were employed to manage the campaigns therefore should be responsible in overseeing the affair of the campaign operation on the forum. Unlike the yobit scenario that only the signature ads was affected maybe introducing a punishment for not so serious managers will make a difference.
6484  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk Account seller in local on: September 25, 2019, 09:49:04 PM
This image looks fake.
When a real forum user enters the personal profile, then an email address must be shown to him / her, and not to be as a "hidden".

It's totally fake not even "it looks fake". I was just about pointing that out, that's why I don't recommend immediate tagging of account seller (caught outside the forum) unless there's a reasonable and convincing reason to tagged them either due to sign of possible hacked account or evidence of them trying to buy or sell the accounts on the forum.

From the OP evidence, there wasn't any clear indication the user trying to sell the account is in control of the account in question, probably he/she was just trying to scam the OP. Incase of future encounter, try requesting for a PM from the account (on sale) to yours to prove control over the account or request for something else that will prove without any reasonable doubt the user is in control of the account like an update of website or profile text, or just a log into the account etc before your report them for account farming.
6485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigerian crypto educator returns $80k in bitcoin recieve by mistake. on: September 25, 2019, 08:55:47 PM
Good people are still among us. It's in our nature that we focus on bad news but we can't ignore the good is there too.

This man could have kept the money but he will make more on the good nae and trust he gained with this good deed. Some money will last you for a few years of fun but a good name stays with you for much longer.

Exactly, worst part of the matter (from comments online) is that, he's getting dragged for his actions. Some individuals are suggesting he could have easily returned the bitcoin without making a big deal out of it. Saying his intentions for bringing the matter to the public was just to seek attention. This came after series of interview and endorsement deals has come the way of the crypto educator.

But regardless of what his intention were, I'll say he did the right thing and him doing this openly was also the right way to go about the issue getting resolved (in my opinion). Irrespective of anything you do under the sun, people will always have something negative to say that's just how humans are.
6486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: September 25, 2019, 08:41:44 PM
--snips--
But altcoins do not really have that problem, they can try all kind of new solutions and models and see if they work, the problem is that many altcoins are not really trying to do that, the developers behind those coins are only trying to get money and become rich without bringing anything to the community and those are the type of coins that we don't need.

And those are the type of project the bear market is out to eliminate, many investors don't see the good side of bear market, not only does it offer an opportunity to buy your fav projects tokens or coins at discount rate but it also offer the market an opportunity to eliminate worthless project just disguising themselves as profitable project under the bull market hype. When it comes to bear market, quality project utilize that period to engage in developing their project the more since there isn't much pressure from investors in regards to price value increase since everyone is aware of the market conditions.

But since worthless project has nothing to develop, their project dies off in the bear market leaving just the surviving projects to benefit from the bull market that follows.
6487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel? on: September 25, 2019, 08:16:07 PM
In time like this, when market is down, bull run has refused to come, panic selling, and all coin value depressed, especially for those who just rely on bounty who make campaigns, so many token yet to be delivered, some yet to come into exchange, those in exchange with poor value. I feel so bored, how about you?

You're not alone with this feelings although there's a counter productive measure to employ that keeps you busy from feeling miserable when those trying period (as highlighted in OP) come around. You have to understand, the market can't improve without a bear market. The correction of price value is needed for the growth of the industry. These correction provides opportunity to accumulate more coin and to separate the worthless project from the best ones.

Learn to balance your cryptocurrency live with your everyday life. The industry is still developing meaning there'll be frequent ups and down. When the bounties, trading etc aren't profitable fall back on your other activities outside the cryptocurrency industry and you won't feel rhe way you're currently feeling because you'll be busy with your life.
6488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No trading volume is same as dead coin on: September 25, 2019, 08:02:38 PM
Are coins and tokens that have good value like 0.02 or even 0.2cent on exchanges with no volume the same bad news as coins that haven't made it to an exchange yet? what do you guys have to say about this? i am currently holding two different tokens with good value but no trading volume, any hope for such projects?

You don't call them dead coins yet, anything can change in matter of seconds in the industry, the fact they don't currently have any trading volume simply means there isn't enough attention towards that coin. In other words there isn't any buying interested in buying at the moment and this could be as a result of the project not been listed on a conducive exchange.

Majority of the time, exchanges contribute to the success of a project therefore if your project is listed on a shit exchange, it after the trading volumes of the project. Take that project to an exchange with enough volume and the project will recover that's why I said it shouldn't be classified as a dead project yet.
6489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 25, 2019, 07:52:32 PM
I always follow English league matches and always see which team is less optimal and which team consistently wins. And I am now shocked after seeing the English league temporary standings at this time, Sure enough 5 points difference liverpool and man city. They remain competitors for a number of seasons and it's Liverpool's time to be champions this season.

Just competitors for the previous and current season. In 2016/2017, neither Manchester city and Liverpool were competing for the title instead they were battling to retain their spot in top 4 finish, ending the season with 3rd and 4th position. In 2017/2018 although city won the league their major competitor was Manchester United that ending the season as first runner up.

Liverpool and Manchester city rivalry just become a house hold event of recent, So far Liverpool are the favorite although just 2 bad games can turn the table around in matter of minutes (180minutes to be precise). Maybe we should wait for the outcome of the match involving both clubs before we conclude although I'm routing for Liverpool as they do deserve the title.
6490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: September 25, 2019, 09:51:59 AM
The altcoin industry have lost some big percentage of patronizers due to the poor performance of the market in the recent months, this have cause so many enthusiasts to lose interest in altcoins in general thinking the cryptocurrency industry can do without them. There's no denied the industry can do without most of the present altcoins but cryptocurrency can't survive without altcoins been present in general. No disrespect to Bitcoin as it started the journey but the industry have grown beyond just bitcoin.

The achievement and development ethereum as a blockchain has contributed for the industry, if the industry had just bitcoin it wouldn't had recorded such developments. We can't do without altcoins, they have become a part of the industry. The sooner we realized that, the better the industry becomes. Don't misunderstand this post, I'm not advising against investing in bitcoin or encouraging investing in the present altcoins although, all I'm trying to say is, if you think the altcoin industry is going into exile, think again.

The altcoin industry is only going through a phase which won't kill it and as what doesn't kill you only make you stronger, the altcoin market will come out stronger as the good will be separated from the bad projects although bitcoin will always be a household name. Invests wisely and don't forget the best of the best altcoins are yet to be developed, the current ones I consider them to just be, test dummies, preparing the way for future altcoins.

What's your take on this, do you think the industry can survive without altcoins, that's just bitcoin been the only currency in the industry.
6491  Other / Meta / Re: It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 24, 2019, 04:52:06 PM
I agree with many of the points above that enforcing some sort of minimum wage does little to address the underlying problem, and is mostly an unworkable solution.

I'm begining to see reasons in that too although what's I'm advocating for is for some attention to be given to this sector. Great, i have see those signature guidelines you highlighted a link to although, most of those rules aren't been enforced. The section is just been allowed to surfer. The forum did something to some extent to address the spam rate on the forum (which has reduced spamming to some extent). We have the bump system and merit system implemented to tackle that problem, something that doesn't involve total elimination of the signature privilege should be done too.

6492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 24, 2019, 11:47:04 AM
But Chelsea - Liverpool was just against logic and felt plain wrong because the actual goal was very clear and it was disallowed because of a play made 10 seconds ago that did not provide enough advantage to Chelsea.

It wasn't our day as every decision, starting from our choice of players were just wrong. Lampard display his inexperienced as a manager once again by playing unfit players like Mount and Emerson while benching Christian Pulisic who was phenomenal against Liverpool in Istanbul.

Williams choice of slowing down the play was also costing us an opportunity to counter attack. The game didn't end badly as losing 1:2 to a side like liverpool isn't something we should be ashamed of. I knew we won't win that game although I presume we could score more than ones that's why I went with a 3:2 bet in favor of Liverpool nevertheless it was a great week for me via the pool ranking.
6493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 24, 2019, 11:23:20 AM
Does Van Dijk stand a chance of winning the main prize?
There's still the balloon d'or coming up, they sometimes do not pick same winners as #thebest.

This was the best chance of dijk winning the Best trophy, Ballon d'or was definitely Messi's own to take home. I'm a Ronaldo fan but Messi was phenomenal last season. If after all the hype towards Van Dijk due to his excellent performance in the champion and premier league couldn't get him the best title then there isn't any chance of him competing against Messi for Ballon d'or.

Surprisingly how Ronaldo was eligible for the BEST finalist but couldn't make it into the BEST 11 players. Beside what were Real Madrid players doing on the list, I'm confused.
6494  Other / Meta / Re: It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 24, 2019, 07:59:28 AM
Not sure why you think you deserve more money for posting on a forum.

There are some things not everyone is open to airing out but in their inner most mind they all want that, don't consider this my suggestion to be me just wanting to be paid more for posting, it's like a open discussion that everyone is open to air their views irrespective of the suggestion been poor or not.

Quote
The biggest thing about posters that join campaigns that pisses me off is the fact that if the post rate is 20 posts per week, guess how many they do? 20 damn posts right on the nose, then they complain because 1 or 2 posts got deleted and they didn't get paid.

I know I'm not in a position to give you any suggestions on this but how about punishing the offenders so they learn from their mistakes, there are far more individual willing to give in their best for the successful of the project. An extra amount of post isn't much of a deal irrespective of you not been paid for them.

PS: No personal attacks please lets keep the conversation professional.
6495  Other / Meta / Re: It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 24, 2019, 07:32:02 AM
Like I said payrate are only subjected to minimum payment, projects that's are capable of paying more are free to increase their payrate pay rank.
However, it's not that as easy as for each projects to pay high amount initially, you know everyone wants least cost with higher output. Projects will try to reduce their cost.
On the other hand, imagine BTC is at ATH. 0.01 BTC = $200 for 25 posts max, I don't think with current rate, much people will be interested to post 25+ in a week (It depends on user too, Royse posts 100+ each week although he is not required to do so).

That can be worked on too, for each $5000 price gain of bitcoin the minimum payrate can be revisited and adjusted in a manner it would be suitable for both the projects and campaign participants. I don't intend project paying as much as your example suggested, I used the current ~$10,000 bitcoin price to make this suggestion. The idea is the participants are been paid poorly and when that's the case what do you expect the output to be like?

Garbage in, garbage out. Take a closer look at well paying campaign, the quality of post been delivered by the participants are way above the others, in some instances, the posts counts (irrespective of them been paid for those extra post counts or not) are even more because this guys are been encourage by the payrate they recieve. We're humans here not robot don't forget that, we work with emotions.
6496  Other / Meta / It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 24, 2019, 05:27:23 AM
Anyway, this is an exciting topic, but maybe we should move somewhere else. Anyone care to create a thread about this issue? It would be best to give @eternalgloom peace of mind and wish him good luck for his future endeavors.

OK, hear me out before you come to a conclusion, the signature industry on the forum is still a very vital feature of the forum and should not be ignored quite yet unless the total eliminate of the privilege comes into implemented. There's is a reason theymos hasn't removed the privilege yet, he might still be looking for a better solution to make the industry a little bit conducive for the forum. Right now the lack of cooperation or moderation of the sector is also contributing to the problems it's facing.

Users are been required to produce excessive amount of post while recieving peanuts as payment which also contribute the high level of spamming the forum is recording.

This question was asked on the previous thread, this conversation was ongoing,
Hence, how to drive up pay rates? I only know to cut supply (less shitposters sigcamp participants) or increase demand (more casinos service providers).

I gave this suggestion:
Or simply, the campaign manager should come into an agreement to set a minimum payrate per rank then projects willing to pay participants above the minimum payrate are free to do so but no projects will pay below the minimum. This way project hoping to employ the best posters on the forum will be forced to increase their payrate to attract them. Some signature payrate are just so ridiculous they only attracts spamming.

For the payrate, I recommend minimum;
Member = 0.002BTC
Full member = 0.004BTC
Snr member = 0.006BTC
Hero member  = 0.008BTC
Legendary  = 0.01BTC

Like I said payrate are only subjected to minimum payment, projects that's are capable of paying more are free to increase their payrate pay rank. These too has to be match with a reasonable amount of maximum post count per week (haven't come to a conclusion of any number that would be suitable). I understand all fingers aren't equal although the suggestion above isn't that much considering the level of publicity you'll be recieving by advertising your product on the forum.

I recommend we give this a try, if it doesn't improve the current situation of signature campaigns then we brainstorm on other solutions or call for a total elimination of the privilege.
6497  Other / Meta / Re: Effect of signature bans on: September 24, 2019, 04:27:50 AM
This user @lovesmayfamilis irrespective of the signature ban is still very active in the scam accusation board bursting scam projects every now and then. He's still dedicating his time for the forum although his post has reduce a little bit he's still posting some high numbers of posts 100+  that's the only user I have encountered with him still producing construction and quality contributions on the forum.

@Suchmoon understandable this are just raw data which doesn't give us the full information of the users involvement on the forums since their ban. You're quite inform on what quality posts are or maybe a decent conversation so how about comparing their quality (before and after ban), merit earned (before and after ban) using same timeframe in the OP, this might give us more information on how effective the users have been.
6498  Other / Meta / Re: The end of an era for me: Leaving Signature Campaign on: September 23, 2019, 05:15:21 AM
Yobit, months ago, run their campaign with high payrates, but there is no one says that campaign is a successful one. That campaign attracted both spammers and good posters.

There's a trick to determine if a campaign is paying high, poor or moderately, you don't call a campaign that was paying participants roughly ~$200 for over 140 posts per week a high paying campaigns that's just a spamming paying campaign and such campaign attracts only spammers or disguise spammers (hiding under the merit earned) as quality posters.

To determine the payrate of a campaign to be high, you have to compare it to the post count required by the project to recieve such payment. With my minimum payrate suggestion above I'll go with a weekly post count of minimum 25 to maximum 40 anything above that is just slavery based on that payrate.

@eternalgloom have you considered taking a role in signature management since we're advice to be the change we want to see. You can bring your philosophy into the management business and hopefully others employ your style of management since from my observation so far, you mean well for both members and the forum and I'm sure your years of been an employee most have given you enough experience to be an employer. What you think?.
6499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many gambling sites are you playing and do you use the same strategy on: September 23, 2019, 04:58:21 AM
Okay, a quick question about this. For those who have more than 2 or more gambling sites playing on. I have a question for you,
Does having multiple accounts from different gambling sites will make it more profitable? Especially when you are using the same strategy, does it still matter to create another account in another gambling site?

No personal experience on this but using my logic, it'll definitely give you more profit. It's simple mathematics example, you bet on Liverpool to win last night game against Chelsea on two different sportbook and the result turnes out to be the same, (meaning your prediction were correct)  simply means you have won double the initial prize although there's a disadvantage as any chance your lose, you lose on both platforms.

Here's an example; SPORTSBET.IO / SPORTS BET IO ... SCAMMED ME FOR $150K USD + of a user operating similar strategy but instead of using different platform (sportbooks) he tried outsmarting the system by creating multiple accounts on one sportbook and gambled probably using similar technique and won massive but now been penalized.
6500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 23, 2019, 04:30:11 AM
Liverpool's performance really great in beginning of this season, I also think they can win the EPL league this season, if they consistent.
the league hasn't run a quarter yet, which there is still a lot of chance that will happen that can ruin their efforts.
just a recap last season they failed just because of 1 point a difference from ManC.

Manchester city can score all the goals they like it won't matter if Liverpool have more points than they do. Liverpool are very capable of winning the premier league. Let me refresh your memory, last two seasons Liverpool got to the champions league final and lost to Madrid (not because they were poor but due to some goal keeping and defense mistakes). What then happened the next champions league season, they went all the way to win the title and that's how you identify champions.

Back to the premier league, last season Liverpool lost the title to Manchester City as the best ever runner up that in previous season would had won them the title, that's to prove Liverpool are capable of winning if they don't let winning games to cost them points by losing or drawing. Just like in the champions league, Liverpool would triumph in this second season.

Opinion on the Chelsea vs Liverpool game: Kante was brilliant, it was a positive display from the Chelsea team and although we lost, we can take some positive development from the match. It wasn't our day congrats to liverpool (salah was bullied throughout the game).
