According to naypalm’s NastyFans Minted Seats Analyzer there are only 16 of these 10oz coins left available for purchase. I’m not sure how many other 10oz silver crypto themed rounds are out there, but I can tell you that once these last 16 are sold there will be no more produced by me.

You can view naypalm’s NastyFans Minted Seats Analyzer using the below link. It should also be noted that while I have this subdomain pointed to the analyzer, it is not hosted on the same server nor operated by nonnakip, who operates nastyfans.org.

^ The problem is that the only trade I’m aware of that’s on the table is Simmons and Maxey for Bradley Beal. The Sixers don’t want to give up both and nobody is going to pay the asking price for Simmons.

Maybe a new poll on if Simmons will be traded by the trade deadline or not? or a poll if Frank Vogel will be fired during the all star break?

One thing I will say about Simmons… He’s about to pass $20,000,000 in fines for not playing this year. I always have respect for people who put themselves before money. Simmons and Kyrie may be dicks, but you can’t question their self respect.
6483  Other / Politics & Society / Re: SpaceX and the prospects of Mars colonization. on: February 02, 2022, 06:52:55 AM
Mars is a nightmare, but the richest and most important people alive (Musk has more votes than the others https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5353987.0) wants to create a colony there.

He is going to evaporate half of his fortune, but he is obsessed and he'll manage to create a small colony on Mars.

Forget about the million or even 5000 thousand people there, until the voyage takes less than 3 months and the radiation and low gravity is solved.

Some States will pay him billions to keep some military personnel there for political reasons.

But I can't see that having any economic sense until some resource is found on Mars.

I think he said he would evaporate most of his fortune to get human beings to be a multiplanetary species if he has to.  I think once you have more than 5 billion dollars, money probably stops mattering to you for your own personal wealth.

I'm not sure they've solved the radiation issues with Mars either.  That's why Elon Musk started the Boring company.  I imagine that at least during my lifetime, the best we can hope for is people living in deep caves beneath Mars' surface.

As for economic reasons...  If they spot an asteroid "planet killer" heading on a direct course to Earth, Elon would be able to charge literally anything he wanted to get people to Mars.  Even if there's a legitimate scare, he'd be getting billion dollar offers for a seat.  So I try not to think he's too crazy.  He could end up saving mankind.  Also of note, at the rate we're burning fossil fuels, the window of opportunity for mankind to become a multiplanetary species is quickly closing (at least until we start throwing rockets into space with electric powered catapults, which is what I think will eventually happen for satellites and other unmanned craft).
6484  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can't NFTs work on Bitcoin? on: February 02, 2022, 06:46:29 AM
if person A owns the nft for some jpeg on ethereum and person B owns the nft for the same jpeg on some other blockchain then is that a problem? it seems like it would have a devaluing affect on the original image. or maybe we're back in the .com days where you had to register .net,.org, etc just so no one else could Grin problem is with this stuff there's no icann to oversee abuse.

That is indeed a big problem with NFTs.  There are lots of other problems as well.  What it boils down to is that an NFT is just a url on the blockchain (sure some of them go deeper than that, but lets keep things simple).  That url can be changed to point to nothing, the image at the end of that url could be removed or replaced with anything...  IPFS solves one of those problems, and I'm sure contracts could be written to solve for the first problem as well, but most people aren't even aware that what they're buying isn't an image on a blockchain, but a token with a url attached.  It's up to the community to enforce abuse, and sometimes marketplaces step in, but in the end things are worth what people will pay for them, and some people wear fake diamonds, so you can expect that some people will display fake NFTs (not being from the original creator) as well.
6485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Searching for fast GPU stock/purchase bot [sorry if wrong board] on: February 02, 2022, 06:42:50 AM
I know there's plenty of bots out there and that's the reason why none of us are able to get our hands on available stock when it comes out.  A shame and I wish there was a better way.  I'd give Best Buy my $ and wait 6 months for a GPU if I had to...  Alas, that is not an option.  However, a quick Google search landed me on this bot:
https://github.com/kkapuria3/BestBuy-GPU-Bot

I know github is full of various bots for getting your hands on new stock of GPUs, and I know nothing about the bot I posted above except it's near the top of Google's search results.  If I were looking for a bot to use though, github is where I'd start.  Most of them have good instructions and are made for simple usage.  Just be safe and take a quick glance at the code to see if anything looks fishy before giving anything a try.
6486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solar panel config for 24x 3060ti on: February 02, 2022, 06:35:06 AM
Og, looks like you have been solar since 2017.

Have you been using batteries the entire time? Has there been any failure?

Does the system software give an expected life for the batteries?

I'm only using a single Tesla Powerwall for my battery backup.  It wouldn't last long off the grid as the sole energy storage device for my operation.  I could go off grid during the day when the sun is shining though if I wanted.  That's a nice usage for it.  Also, any power outages won't immediately effect anything I'm doing.  The real benefit for mining though I would say is that I can store excess solar generated energy from sunrise to noon, and then once the sun goes down it uses that stored energy before going to the grid until 7pm when electricity on my plan becomes dirt cheap again.

The Tesla Powerwall is awesome.  I've had no problems with it whatsoever, and it provides awesome graphics and statistics about your power usage.  I would say that interface is almost more valuable than the battery itself.

The system software doesn't give an expected life for the batteries, but I believe Tesla stated it goes based off of how much usage you get from the battery.  I have mine set to only use about 40% of the battery on a regular basis as that gives me the desired effect, but if I recall from memory the batteries would last 10 years using 100% daily, so I would expect mine will probably last in the 15-20 year time frame.  By that time it is possible it would have paid for itself if electricity continues to rise, but I think being able to go off grid and continue to allow your home to function during power outages is the likely main benefit.

I post a reply.

Someone quotes me in their reply.

Then I go back and edit my reply.

Server updates my changes in the quotes.

I posted a request for something similar to be built into the new forum software.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2171483.0

I don't think you can every control what someone posts in a quote and it's not rocket science being able to generate a false quote.

Quote from: SapphireSpire_Fake_Quote
I sold my soul to OgNasty and the price was cheap.

I proposed a method which would at least be able to check to see if the quote was legitimate.  Others even took it a step further by showing that purely untouched quotes could have green highlighting on the "quote from" text so that people can know it was a legitimate quote.  No idea if this is something that would be added in the future or not, but I'm certain it would have prevented hundreds of bitcoins from being stolen from users here in the past via MITM schemes.
6488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your plans for the 2022 crypto market? on: February 02, 2022, 06:22:08 AM
My plans going into 2021 were to do some portfolio balancing.  Bitcoin had become an uncomfortably large position in my personal assets, so diversifying into stocks, real estate, and other cryptos was high on my to-do list.  I failed to meet my goals however, falling short of the sort of diversification I was going for as Bitcoin never had the blow off top that I was anticipating (at least not yet).  So my 2022 plans remain the same.  Continue diversifying away from Bitcoin and into more stable asset classes as well as income producing assets.  This isn't because I'm bearish on Bitcoin's fundamentals, it's just for my own personal mental health and knowing that I will not be dependent on Bitcoin rising forever in order for me to feel comfortable about my financial future.

Bitcoin is great, but knowing you'll be ok if it falls to 0 is great too.  Smiley
6489  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Declares it is ready for war with American and European countries on: February 02, 2022, 06:18:07 AM
As an American, it's easy for me to look at the Russia situation and blame them for trying to ignite a war.  It does appear to be a bit of a double standard though.  Russia has been fairly open about the military defense systems surrounding their country making them uncomfortable and their concerns being ignored.  I don't blame them for being upset.  Looking at a map it's pretty crazy the amount of weapons the US and UN control around Russia's borders.  Maybe I'm ignorant, but I think if Russia and Canada/Mexico formed deals to have Russia keep military equipment and missile launch systems within a stone's throw of our borders, I would expect us to threaten action as well.

Not trying to defend Russia, but the situation does seem slightly hypocritical to me.

Elsewhere, With Jokic most likely to miss out tonight, I'm taking Timberwolves -4.5 vs Denver Nuggets.

I should've followed your bet on this one.  I didn't read up on Jokic being out before adding this game to an epic parlay tonight.  I won every other game but this one.  Would've been a nice little score.  On the plus side, I placed some other bets as well, so I ended up being a winner for about $30.  Not the epic payday I was hoping for, but man how about that Warriors comeback...  Nice of the Bulls, Bucks and Suns to win also.  That was my other parlay that saved the day.  I need to be more regular with these parlays.  When I had gambling degenerate friends we used to bet tiny amounts on giant parlays daily.  Sure, you lose most of the time, but when one hits it is a day changer.  Smiley
6491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the world safe from the threat of the corona virus? on: February 02, 2022, 03:33:06 AM
I think the world is safe from corona virus.  I don't believe there was any legitimate threat to society in the first place.  It would have to be about 100x more deadly for me to believe the response was warranted...  The response to the current "pandemic" however should terrify everyone.  Imagine if a real threat happens.  This experience only taught us that when a crisis hits, our politicians will use it to print massive amounts of money delegated to public companies to line their own pockets via their investments.

The sooner the world takes the stance of countries like Denmark, who has decided this pandemic is not a threat and eliminated all restrictions, the sooner we can get back to this new normal we've created with massive inflation and soul crushing government debts managed by thirsty politicians with an endless desire to increase taxes to fund their incompetence.

Even we lose alot than the winning still sometimes we didn't sink into us that we are losing a lot but instead we keep playing because we know to ourselves we are still winning.

I'm not really sure I understand what it is you're saying here, but oddly, I agree to an extent.  I typically gamble when I'm going to watch a game and want some extra excitement.  Whether this is betting on individual players on both teams or betting on a single team to win, etc...  It adds a little something for you to cheer for.  As someone who is a fan of sports in general and not so much teams, I really enjoy having the option to make player bets as well as betting different teams for enjoyment.  In that sense, win or lose, I make sure to always get my money's worth.  I don't bet huge amounts as to not do anything that would bring me disappointment, but I do bet frequently for the fun of it, and when you gamble for fun it is true that you always win.  Smiley
6493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 02, 2022, 03:10:45 AM
Giannis was on fire tonight.  His 29th career triple double and he dominated every minute he was on the floor.  He even ended his night by defending Kuzma who tried his best to put the moves on him before getting his shot swatted into the stands.  When Giannis is playing well, he really dominates a game and controls the pace.  Not enough people are talking about how much his passing has improved this year.  Last year it was clear he was working on his jump shot and this year it seems clear he's been working on his passing.  If he did manage to go to Golden State to play with Steph Curry somehow, I don't think it would even matter who the other 3 guys are...  They'd be a lock for the Finals every year.
6494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solar panel config for 24x 3060ti on: February 01, 2022, 11:23:42 PM
I plan to use green energy as well but with wind turbine, solar panel is good but the price per watt produced is too high, between 1~2 euro while the wind turbine come with 0.50~1 euro the watt.

Ya, I've been doing that for a while...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1783328.0

The problem is that wind energy is even more unreliable than solar, not to mention the upkeep and maintenance involved is quite a bit more than solar.  I found that for mining purposes, wind energy is nearly useless and with the technology available today I honestly think you are better off just using energy from the grid.  The only time wind turbine energy at a small scale would be beneficial in my opinion is to charge batteries where grid energy is unavailable.  I'm sure this will change someday as the technology improves, but for home users it just isn't there yet.

If you're considering any type of alternative energy powered mining operation, the main expense is going to be batteries.  Grid tying eliminates that, which is why my earlier comment quote below makes a ton of sense.

So instead of looking at mining as a problem that needs to be solved with a ton of solar panels, look at it as a solution for how to benefit from excess energy production.

But from a mining perspective you want the miners running 24/7.

That's why you remain grid-tied so miners can operate fine off the grid energy during cheaper electricity rate times of the day, like when the sun isn't shining.  However, during times of overproduction, say when you're at work and the sun is beating down on your solar panels, instead of overproducing energy for the grid, you're burning it with mining.

Steph Curry is out tonight in San Antonio. Sitting on the second night of a back-to-back. Warriors will also be without Andrew Wiggins, Otto Porter, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green, Nemanja Bjelica, James Wiseman. Skeleton crew.

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but the Warriors are sitting out Curry today. Never go early with those player props, that free bet gone to waste now.

When I saw that the Spurs were the favorite to win I had to check to see why that is.  I figured Steph must be out, but was still going to bet on them given the spread.  However, then I saw Wiggins and Thompson are also out, along with Green, Wiseman, Iguodala, and some other pieces...  It's going to be rough out there.  I think I'll have to sit on the sidelines on that one.

The Phoenix/Nets game is another one that's up in the air.  The Suns should win and have plenty of advantages, but it's hard to count out the Nets when they could still have 2 hall of famers on the floor (not sure if Harden is a go yet or not).  Tonight might just be a good night to watch basketball and leave the betting aside.

Why skip over NastyFans Minted Seats?  These were such a massive innovation on physical crypto collectibles at the time that hasn't been matched nearly a decade later...  There are still only a handful of coins with engravings and vanity addresses, and no coins ever produced tied to an organization that generates revenue for the coins (as far as I'm aware)...  Given that hundreds have been sold here, you'd think that would be a tough one to miss as an oversight...  There are even still some available for sale at https://nastyfans.org/mint for anyone who wants a piece of the longest publicly traded Bitcoin organization in existence, a title that can never be taken so long as trading continues unabashed.

I agree. One of the early coins still obtainable; although a few Finite Design are still for sale too on their site.

Very odd to leave out one of the most innovative offerings in the space attached to such a long running community organization here.  Luckily, flying under the radar is what would allow someone to still be able to purchase these historical pieces before they completely sell out and are subject to secondary market price increases.  Smiley  For those wondering about these coins receiving Bitcoin distributions on a weekly basis, here are some links that you might find useful or might be valuable to add to such a historical timeline with information about these products.

These examples are using other blockchains as support.

We're talking about 'pure bitcoin' NFTs, without using other blockchains.

Agreed.  Anything with a "vault" to me seems like it's dead from out of the gate.  I don't think that "technology" is one that is going to be looked at as coveted by the masses anytime soon and I'm a bit surprised that it's still being pushed as an option.

I'm sure Bitcoin's secondary layers will become the popular place to trade Bitcoin NFTs once there is open discussion and development tools available outside of those in the Good Old Boys Club.  Most Bitcoiners still think NFTs are pictures with no use, so I think they're more concerned with how to get the next wave of users to sink their savings into Bitcoin to HODL forever...
6498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 01, 2022, 06:49:00 PM
Good matchup tonight between the Suns and Nets.  Durant is out and Harden is questionable, but since the game is in Arizona and not some liberal draconian state, Kyrie Irving will be allowed to play.  With the Suns still not having Ayton in the lineup, that even things out a little, but I'd still say the Suns have the advantage here.  If Harden can't play, the Suns should be able to get a W here.  Even with Harden, the Suns have the much better record and would likely be the favorites at home.

This game will be televised tonight on TNT at 10:00 PM ET.  A great way to kick off February.  Smiley

The irony of the whole NFT world is that it is pretty much worthless.

Some collections like the Bored Ape Yacht Club have grown so valuable that they are larger than companies like Harley Davidson...  Imagine still thinking that NFTs are worthless.  I get that to some people you can't grasp the innovation and think it's about pictures.  It isn't.  If you think it is, you have a lot of learning to do and should probably focus on education rather than spitting disinformation.  NFTs are the first mainstream use case for crypto I've seen and I don't think they're going away.  I actually think that toxic maximalism is going to lead a lot of people to miss out on massive opportunities, like the Bored Ape Yacht Club, thinking they're just pictures.  They aren't.
