6501  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CryptoSeal VPN shuts down rather than risk NSA demands for crypto keys on: October 23, 2013, 09:44:58 AM
Wait a minute, all you need to operate a VPN is a connection, so U.S customers can just go to someone outside the country to set things up and with Bitcoin it's now going to be even easier so the only way the NSA could realistically stop all this is shooting themselves in the foot china style and blocking off all access to the outside world.

"But it's all to keep us safe!" I'm sure government loyalists will say  Roll Eyes Cheesy
6502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Government Shutdown Fueling Chinese Bitcoin Boom? on: October 23, 2013, 09:40:33 AM
Methinks it's just the effects of inflation but I don't think we'll see a real rise until western countries have a mass panic and capital flight on their hands.
6503  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS - Frontier Space Manga, Cabochon Necklaces - 1 Necklace now in stock on: October 22, 2013, 09:10:11 PM
Hey guys, I'm currently making a short manga because I found my main manga is taking so long and I wanted to ask whether you thought 0.02BTC - 0.03BTC is too expensive as I still have no idea how to price digital products and this one will be going up a lot quicker than my other manga. It will be pretty short 8 - 22 pages or so depending on how well paced I think the story is but at least this way I can get a product up and you guys don't have to keep looking at boring blank pages every day.

Let me know what you think, I've put in a poll on the topic for you to vote on since I've seen a lot of people viewing this thread but not commenting.
6504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Yahoo!! Bitcoin Rising Up 188$ on: October 22, 2013, 08:22:00 PM
It's hard to say but the Federal Reserve have decided to continue money printing and I suspect all the other central banks are going to be doing the same this will probably be why the price has risen, no idea whether it's going to rise or fall though because I'm not seeing everybody run around in a panic trying to buy up everything they can just yet.

Check out another Peter Schiff video that will explain what my thinking is Smiley : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tak9ODlBJgM
6505  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would an alternative to bitcoin talk be good or not? on: October 22, 2013, 04:38:53 PM
I look at it the same way I look at all the alt. currencies, if the main stuff we use goes down then at least we have plenty of properly working backups.

6509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins you are holding *NO TROLLING on: October 21, 2013, 05:33:52 PM
People usually feel a bit wary of putting a big "rob me" sign around their necks. It's maybe not a huge risk to say how much you're holding, but it is a risk, and seems to have no benefit.

+1

Plus, if they choose to reveal their identities then journalists would love to stalk these people, we've already seen bits of that happening already.
6510  Other / Off-topic / Re: I want to whore off my signature again... on: October 21, 2013, 05:19:30 PM
To be serious though you are just renting out your signature space, while it's a nice thing to do if the terms are fair ( usually they're not ) I just don't think I'm that in need for money that I'll plaster ads all over my signature and completely drown out my own business I'm trying to get started up.
6511  Other / Off-topic / Re: I want to whore off my signature again... on: October 21, 2013, 05:16:25 PM
I want to as well but I have a weird laziness for this kind of thing, but I know with it I'll be able to do a lot of stuff too, hmmm >_<

You are lazy when it comes to earning free money? No wonder you are still living with your parents Roll Eyes

I can't help it, when I see free money I automatically think it's a scam and just work on other stuff instead >_< Tongue
6512  Other / Off-topic / Re: In a few years... on: October 21, 2013, 04:46:59 PM
As $500.000.000 will barely buy you a loaf of bread by then, well I'll buy loafs of bread  Tongue

I think this is what is going to happen if you sell Bitcoin when the price gets that high so I'm just going to abandon the dollar entirely and trade with Bitcoin instead like everyone else will be.

6514  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [10-18-2013] A Banker's Worst Fear on: October 21, 2013, 03:29:17 AM
I think saying Gold/Silver aren't currency was a mistake particularly when they showed coins lol Gold/Silver has been used as a currency for hundreds of years, it's only because current governments have claimed it isn't a currency that people believe that today, the people who made this documentary need to look up some history.

currently they aren't currency is the point. you can't buy digital goods for them

At this point, but you can bet people are going to go back to them once paper money collapses.

6516  Other / Off-topic / Re: Most bitcoiner-friendly country? on: October 20, 2013, 05:29:44 PM
I'm currently researching it myself and Marbit is right, it looks like Germany or maybe even Finland are the most Bitcoin friendly countries so far, we'll just have to wait and see which countries say what, maybe we could do a list like the banks list that was made here.

Why do people like you make up such retarded hypotheticals that are the complete opposite of what I'm saying? In your scenario it would be more like I purchase the coke and somehow it attaches itself to the refrigerator and destroys any other carbonated drinks it sees and then I have to call the tech support number on the label in order to have it removed which will of course end up destroying the refrigerator forcing me to get a new one and deciding for me that I will never buy coke again.

It's stupid, they're committing brand suicide by doing this kind of thing and if you're okay with this kind of thing you're stupid and have no standards.
6519  Other / Off-topic / Re: SteamOS - Oh fucking god no on: October 20, 2013, 05:02:13 PM
If you like companies trying to take over your computer and dictate what you can and can't do on it then by all means enjoy yourselves, I will however make every effort to fight something like this no matter what.

Yeah, mind you, Linux is open source so maybe I should take a proper look at it, it doesn't seem to be used for gaming very much though, unless there's a whole ton of Linux based games I don't know about of course.
