Even if this gets solved, you've ruined your reputation with this post here .
6502  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the best poster of 2014 ? on: December 31, 2014, 05:37:49 PM
I don't think there is a best poster, but these are the people that strike my mind for being insightful posters: (Post likely to be edited a few times, because I haven't listed everyone)

- franky1
- DannyHamilton
- DeathAndTaxes
- CIYAM
- Elwar

There's quite a few which come to mind which bring in good debates, but maybe controversial topics  AnonyMint comes to mind. Although, most of the users who used to post quality content or debates seem to have moved on.

If your dream were to live in Norway why in the first place you learn Russian and German and not Norwegian? I do not quite get it.

I had a Russian girlfriend for quite some time which contributed to me wanting to learn Russian. German is what I was taught in school, which is the weakest out of the both. I've always been determined to get good at the ones I've already been studying, before moving onto something which is entirely different. It was a strange one because of living in Wales at the time I was in school, we were taught English, French & German.

I always forget to mention that I learnt English & Welsh at the same time (Probably why I'm not too good at English), our school didn't simply stick to one language but, crossed them over. I don't know why, seems there aren't many Welsh schools in Wales any more, mostly English. But, Welsh must be taught regardless if it's a english speaking school or not.

Although, Welsh has been the most useless, But I don't like to forget my heritage and love the history of my country and it's language. Although, I think I read that only 13% of Wales now uses Welsh as their first language and most of those people probably live in North Wales.

Also you may try to check youtube. I find that many people are posting tutorials and courses of many different languages there.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've got a few people in mind and I've bookmarked them for the time being. Unfortunately I've found Youtube to be pretty scattered in learning Norwegian. I like to be able to learn from the same teacher, as you get used to their personality and their approach. What I found when looking for resources on Youtube that there wasn't many channels which were fully focused on delivering Norwegian lessons, or if they were dedicated to it they have only made a few videos and have not touched upon the subject extensively. Although, I do understand some of them might be doing a weekly episode so progress might be slow, but I would rather go at my pace and not be waiting around for someone else to release a video.

Then again, I'm finding wonderful text based resources, but I don't consider my English to be wonderful as in pronunciation or maybe it's self doubt. I like to be able to hear the word. I've looked at the possibility of getting a Kindle just because it seems viable for this reason. I've always steered clear of Kindles as I saw them as pointless for reading books.

The more I've got into this and looking for a place to learn it the more I've wondering about personal Norwegian teachers. I wonder if we have some Norwegians here which are looking for some work?

Seems like I Might of found a good one which I will be delving into tomorrow. If anyone else has any other suggestions, then please feel free to let me know because, I'm always looking for more resources to look at.
6504  Other / Off-topic / Recommend me sources for learning norwegian on: December 28, 2014, 07:43:18 PM
After learning Russian and German. I want to move onto Norwegian. This has always been one of the things I needed to learn to get closer to my dream living in Norway. So, I've decided to start it today. Just like to know if anyone knows any particularly good sources which I might find helpful. I've got a few and I'm just going thorough some of them and seeing how extensive they are. I've already got a few books too, but I'll be looking for a audible source too.

This will probably turn into one of them projects which I will be splashing some Bitcoin and hiring a tutor eventually because What I have found with Norwegian is the lack of rich resources unlike the other languages I've learned.

I think it was this one:

It was gigantic and couldnt even do SMS.  But it was a great improvement over what my colleagues had back then:

I've got the Mobira Talkman, NMT450 in my attic somewhere, found it up there a few years ago.
6506  Other / Off-topic / Re: Geek Password Generator on: December 13, 2014, 11:57:18 AM
If you have an old keyboard (or a new one you dislike), you may also be able to spit between the keys for a similar effect. The same shared routes which cause ghosting can also cause a pseudo-random string of keys to go out when conductive liquid is spilled (generally, no harm comes of this so long as you let the keyboard dry if you need to use it for something else). Old-school password generation. Cool

Cheesy Brilliant.
6507  Economy / Services / Re: Wallet Encryption Password Lost - 10 BTC! on: December 13, 2014, 11:43:46 AM
Unless you know the majority of your password no one will be likely to help you, 30 characters of unknown characters is a huge amount for a program to brute force. The amount of the users who come to me only know about a quarter to half of their password and that's normally not enough.
6508  Economy / Services / Re: [For Hire] The best programmer in the whole known(and unknown) universe on: December 12, 2014, 09:20:02 PM
OP, if you are the 'best programmer' I'm sure you would be up for a little wager right? Hey, if you beat a few people your claim might have some merit.
6509  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ROBBED on: December 12, 2014, 08:21:57 PM
I'm going to delet the bad wallet and start again, hopefully I will find a wallet that is harder to hack....ugh, I'm just sick...

I would suggest restoring the computers operating system. Just deleting the bad wallet and making a new one is a security risk, it sounds very likely you have contracted a Virus from somewhere. Also, I'm assuming you are using Windows by the sounds of things, You should consider making transactions on a Linux based system, even if it's a hot wallet. Ubuntu is recommended if you are new to Linux systems it's pretty easy to setup and and find your way around.

Also, you need to assume that everything on your comptuter & accounts could be compromised, so quickly restore and reinstall the operating system of your choice and change your passwords and any other sensitive data. That's your number one priority right now.

I also recommend installing a few security extensions on your browser, for some ideas: No script & Http Everywhere.
6510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Satoshi Nakamoto Day on: December 12, 2014, 01:42:28 PM
As I was explaining Satoshi Nakamoto Day to someone, I realized, that Satoshi posted something when Dorian was getting harassed by Newsweek, right?

I'm curious if that means we need to recalibrate SND to his latest post?  Thoughts?

I'm ok keeping it Dec 12th, or we can put it back up for a vote.  Options include:

Nov 5th - day the white paper was published?
Dec 12th - last day on forums
whatever day the post said "I'm not Dorian Nakamoto"
others?

Thanks to all the supporters!

Personally believe that the day the white paper was published. Otherwise, the dates could change constantly. Plus, The day of the white paper being released was one of the first movements of Bitcoin involving the public.
6511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are most people just ignorant or is it just old people? on: December 12, 2014, 01:09:31 PM
Look at the amount of people that voted for Obama.

Look at who they chose in the primary for the past 10-20 Republican/Democrat primaries.

A lot of ignorant people in the US.

Not limited to the US either, unfortunately. Ignorance is quite widespread.

6513  Other / Meta / Re: Who's on your Perma-troll ignore list? on: December 11, 2014, 04:58:45 PM
I've tried to use the ignore function multiple times but, I always end up removing them just because I have a little hope they might add something to the conversation every now and again, sometimes they do to my surprise.
6514  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Uneasy about Advertising for Bitmixer.io.. on: December 07, 2014, 07:01:27 PM
Never asked for a concrete reason, just an explanation as to why he refuses them and not other proven scams.
Judging on Theymos original response, he doesn't want to disclose to the public why he doesn't want this particular service advertised. You can always send a message to him regarding the matter, but don't expect to get a response.
6515  Economy / Services / Re: PROTECT YOUR COLLATERAL/LOAN on: December 03, 2014, 06:45:53 PM
Would you be able to hold physical collateral also? I'm struggling to find someone, I've been asked to hold onto physical collateral before however, because I'm situated in the United Kingdom I normally can't because of the delay & shipping costs. I don't need it immediately but, that's one of the things I've held back from giving Loans because I mostly lend to people situated outside the US.
6516  Other / Off-topic / Re: I want to buy a cheap but value for money laptop on: December 03, 2014, 06:42:44 PM
I'm writing this on a 9 year old used thinkpad. I bought it used for $75 and installed Ubuntu on it. This thing lasts and lasts!

I've also got around a 7 year old Thinkpad which hasn't had any problems picked it up for around $100 I believe. Installed Slackware on it specifically and I use it quite regular.

His trust explains enough, he makes random assumptions.

You mean the 5 trusts you spammed? Also, the others are normally due to them being scamemrs. You can easily verify that by clicking on their profile and looking at their trust. Not that giving trust has anything to do with his moderating job here.

Unlikely to have another hype when there are so many new next generation coins out there.
Which the majority of them are utter shit.
6519  Economy / Services / Re: Wallet Corrupt (Paying 1btc if fixed) on: November 18, 2014, 12:51:08 AM
I had some spare time tonight to setup the environment and started tinkering around with the file. Now, because we haven't got access to the computer it was originally stored on that limited some of the methods I could use quite significantly. I've gone through what I thought could be possible, however I haven't been successful and I've been working on it for a few hours now.  Although, I have gone through all I can think of at this time, I have been pretty busy so I'm hoping something is just slipping my mind at the time and I'll be able to think of something in the next few days.

If anyone decides to take this under their wing, feel free to contact me and I'll try and help in any way I can.
6520  Economy / Lending / Re: What kind of % are people wanting for 1BTC, 10BTC, 100BTC and 1000BTC loans? on: November 17, 2014, 08:45:41 PM
With decent collateral & a good enough reason, I'm willing to lend with 0% interest. I've done it in the past to people I respect to others who needed a little help.
