6561  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: June 11, 2015, 10:11:04 AM
They don't want to risking their money anymore, and the investment is best solution for them which they will get higher profit than saving it.

There would be no reason to trust an investment option anymore if you dont trust the bank because basically banks are much more secure than most of the investment ( well , most )

it is better to invest in something that have some risk instead of leaving your money in a structure that carry the same risk

You are missing the point that it has a different risk and also that putting your money into an investment would carry a far more higher risk then leaving it in a bank structure

no point in using bank anymore for a little interest

Most people are not even aware of this little interest because basically people put their money into bank not to earn from the interest but rather to keep their money safe (unless they are putting it in safe deposits which would grant up tp 7.5 % per annum of course ) which is one of the reason BTC is invented so that you could secure your own personal belonging

-snip-

You dont even uderstand about your country's banking system to be honest and a single click on google lead me to a bailout case of a bank in your country which is still unsolved and you dont even know how to read properly there. Read below

Iyou can see this
http://bni.co.id/Tarif/Simpanan/BungaDeposito.aspx

you need more capital minimum 1000k idr or 1.000.000 $ to get 5% per month

This amuse me that you do not understand a website with your native language. A simple google translator helped me to understand thats the interest rate per annum and it is for safe deposits so its pretty normal because bank could offer up to 7.5 % per annum for safe deposits.

6562  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin trading strategy on: June 11, 2015, 09:40:07 AM
To be honest, marketcap has less thing to do with trading anyway. It is not about the marketcap will grow few years later or the value will increase after the halving or whatsoever but it is about the movement of the price, the fluctuation of each price .

Even if BTC value were to fall into 1 cent / BTC if there is still a movement in this then BTC is worth to be used for trading , however even if we see $1000 / BTC but if the value is constant without any movement at all then it cant be traded at all (unless someone or few people manipulate it to make it looks fluctuative)
But if the value of bitcoin will drop in cents. Many users will not using bitcoin because of its value and many will disappoint when its happened.

It is not about the value or the usage of BTC to begin with. It doesnt actually important in trading, whats important is the movement of it and that is where trader got its profit and not about millions of people to use it. Of course it will be useless for trader if there isnt any movement eventhough millions of people use it or the mass adoption is happening though

Why would you not want to use it if the value were to fall into cents (which is unlikely) ? The feature as well as the technology stays the same even if the value gonna drop in the future anyway. BTC is still BTC despite the value drop or crash but ofcourse most people will jump out of the sinking ship

But if you will notice that people want more money and they not contended on what they have or how much they can earn. They want more and they don't like a small value for a long time.

Ofcourse having a higher value will benefit trader more and would attract more people into it which in this case every movement would net a higher profit for traderif you would compare it to cents but my point would be that even if the value were to drop, the technology stands.
The reality is that most people are only tied to its value, when the value drop then most people will assume that it is dead .Most people are not even aware of this but the true value of BTC were in its technology and also its decentralized principle
6563  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➫ ➬ ➫ ➬ LUCKYB.IT ★ +8.2k BTC wagered ★ the best onchain game on: June 10, 2015, 10:12:11 PM
It may be a good time to bring this back up, as you now have a new competitor offering off-chain Plinko with 1% edge.
Do you have any plan to add an off-chain version of LB and/or to lower your edge?

Off course we won't remove the on-chain version. LuckyBit is both the best and the most popular on-chain game, way ahead of satoshidice now.  Wink

If we add the off-chain version, we will have both.  Smiley

So about this off-chain version, I think the community is building a community project currently using moneypot's API. I found this earlier https://www.moneypot.com/apps/47-lb-micro-test. It is almost the same with the current luckybit , difference would be that it is some kind like a mini version of it and the house edge is 0.84 % and it is offchain

If you check on it , you can see that sting seems to be testing it out about roughly 24 hours ago and the game is being hosted at http://luckybitfaucet.com/community/micro/

I have to lol a little bit because in my post, I said basically no one can really speak for Stunna.  Then arallmuus jumps in right below and basically speaks for Stunna.  It's all good though because Stunna spoke for himself just below that.  Anyway.  Smiley

To be honest, I wasnt expecting him to jump in as well which is not quite for his habit though and ofcourse he delivered two good news for us by jumping in which is the hufflepuff incident soon to be posted and that perhaps he will consider opening investment up  Wink

I think the idea is that people who are attracted because of the chance to invest are probably also going to play.
-snip-

Perhaps it could play off eventually or no ( not sure about this ), my reasoning would be that PrimeDice is already one of the biggest site with a big community as well despite it has no investment feature and even has no longer accept a deposit from the US players. I wonder how big this could go if there is an investment feature available and to be honest, Id love to take a part in the bankroll  Smiley
6565  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: June 10, 2015, 09:43:03 PM
Speaking from experience u can make roughly 1 to 1.5 mil satoshi. I did a week exexperiment. Doing all the best faucets roughly 8 to 12 hours a day. It was fun for a week thats about all i can say lol

Thats roughly less than $5 and having to "work" by collecting all the faucet and entering captcha then this is actually not profitable to do so considering that your electricity to power up your computer for 8 hours a day x 7 for a week will be much more than $5 and not to mention your internet connection cost as well

P.S : this served as a proof that faucet never meant to make people rich though
6566  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetterBets.io - Bitcoin Casino ★Dice & Horse Racing★ Powered by Moneypot.com on: June 10, 2015, 09:27:46 PM
Yes, arallmuus has been doing a great job manning the chat. We all owe him a big "Thank you!"

No problem, Im just doing what people supposed to do I guess  Wink

Yeah, I've added it to my Todo list. The idea is really cool. We'll may make a separate page for it, I'll need to experiment with what works best layout-wise.

I suppose having the game onto a chat-bot would be nice like whoever roll 10k bets atleast 100 satoshi will be eligible for the game and the chat-bot will pop up whenever someone do so. Another option would be having a chat-bot that could come up with a trivia quiz as well, since the regular rain-bot is pretty much uninteresting though

P.S : 10k bets should be below 20 minutes for those who havent visited the site yet  Wink

Hmm, somehow my Todo list never really shrinks

It seems the list will keep on growing as the site as well  Smiley. Anyway there is a small issue to be fix, the "tick box for the on win" isnt save on the betterbot autosave feature though

For those missing the Dank-horse-quiz Game, we will be having another one at this weekend with some twist for the rules to make it less spammy of course since the chatroom was so "busy" as we are playing the game.  Feel free to join us and bring more of your friends Smiley
6567  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & Bitcoin on: June 10, 2015, 09:17:05 PM
And we all know that government officials know the benefits that they can get if they put a tax for every transaction that will be made.

It cant be done, you as a BTC user supposed already know that this couldnt be done because each transaction is dependant and no one would know if the transaction is coming from the country or not
The only way they could benefit themselves with BTC would be by tax-ting every BTC/FIAT exchange, huge tax will then discourage most people to exchange their BTC

the only way to avoid taxes is living in the street soo governement will just pay you not tax

Unfortunately this deosnt stand for a developing country where there are alot of poor people living on the street and also there is alot of taxes, eventually when you buy something of a mini store there will be tax apply to your groceries as well

that's is a bit risky, with such amount i would not trust even a bank
-snip-

Read above its an interest rate per annum and its for safe deposits which is a pretty normal interest for most country

money at banks not safe why ?if all users go to the bank and ask all money out it will make the bank colapse on the same time

Banks are regularly audited by regulators in their own country to provide proof of solvency for their bank, otherwise they will not be given the license to start a bank though

This is the right time to invest in bitcoin and hold it for say 10 years more and after 10 years you would be a wealthy man

Unless you are forgetting, every investment got its own risk as well as BTC itself which means that in 10 years timeframe there is a chance that your BTC could make you richer or it could be worthless
6569  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: June 10, 2015, 07:52:18 PM
but is it possible to invest if the investor contacts stunna personally?

Its never going to be possible. PrimeDice is one of the most succesfull dice site around and everyone would love to have a share of PrimeDice. Stunna and his private group manage to secure this site and fund the bankroll in the past, I doubt that they would want to let another people to put in some investment and share the profit of it

If you have his personal contact info and you want to try to convince him to take your money as an investment, go for it!  Lol.

I doubt Stunna will agree, Basically why would he want to share this site's profit to stranger while he can fund the site by himself and his private group though.  Cheesy Logic isnt it

The main reason we didn't take crowd funded investments were due to legality (SEC regs etc). But there's also other concerns. For example, another hufflepuff type scenario[I'll publish the post this week], and also the lack of provable fairness for investors. Ultimately it would be a significantly greater amount of stress with no major benefit for the bettor since we have sufficient bankroll to raise our maxbet beyond the competition if we wish to do so.

I can see certain benefits though, I'm sure volume would increase significantly and the community would grow as well. We might do it eventually, but at this moment we're not ready for the responsibility.

It will be a good thing that you are considering this, most people would love to have a share in the PrimeDice bankroll. By the concern about hufflepuff issue is what you mean someone exploited the system or that someone managed to won 2k BTC (which of course he got the 2k BTC by exploiting the system

As for the bolded part, since you have a significant amount of the bankroll for it then I doubt there would be significant increase of the volume if you were to take on investment. Would be better to keep things for yourself as well as all the profit but honestly I would love to have a share on the bankroll as well though

Just got my second account cleared too. 1.6something BTC for just under a thousand shares. Calculating back based on the revenue from last week with the mining that would ROI in 12 weeks. Compared to 52 weeks that you pay for (or 26 that you would get by paying now) it is a reasonable deal.

12 weeks? that reminds me of when the first time I got lured in into this ltcgear, having to heard that the ROI will be 3 months at max. So basically we are back at the first time this ponzi started his crazy anniversary discount again, He is offering 3 months ROI and most people got lured in because of this

Maybe it's a good one to have chris escrow the amounts payable for renewal until they've been payed back in "revenue"?

He wouldnt want to do so because he need those fee to continue his ponzi operation otherwise he wouldnt have any to pay those guy who have paid the fee before
6572  Economy / Gambling / Re: PlinkoPot.com — Off-chain Plinko — 1% House Edge — Powered by Moneypot on: June 10, 2015, 06:23:22 AM
Tried the site and I could say that this would be a competitor to luckybit but you will need to put in some more graphic in there

Plus thing compare to luckybit :

#1 Offchain, you dont need to pay for your miner's fee unlike luckybit

#2 Minimum bet is 1 bits or 100 satoshi, good for small rollers

#3 Lower load compare to luckybit, I am having some trouble loading luckybit sometimes so yes this could be an answer

#4 Hotkey option to bet on the selected colour and it turns off automatically if you are chatting (very convenience indeed)

Minus thing compare to luckybit :

#1 No chat-lotto, obviously a chat bot is needed to make things better Cheesy

#2 You can only view your own bet and cant view another's player bet so it makes me think that I am alone playing at the site

You forgot about the important Plus #5: It has a lower house edge and so a higher multiplier.

The Blue line on LB:   2   1.4   1.3   1.2   1.1   0.2   1.1   1.1   1.1
The Green line on PP: 3   1.5   1.4   1.3   1.2   0.2   1.1   1.1   1.1

Didnt notice it though yes I guess thats make a lower house edge for that but considering that there is a chatlotto in luckybit then it seems at glance that they do have a lower house edge

Another good thing of playing plinko off-chain is that you dont lose anything even if you hit 1x multiplier (you are losing the fees in on-chain if you hit 1x ). Basically if you made 5k bets in on-chain plinko, you have lost 1BTC total for the miners fee considering it is using a standard miners fee (10k satoshi)
6573  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Bitcoin on margin - this could explode the market (and bank accounts) on: June 09, 2015, 09:12:38 PM

Margin increases demand instantaneously.

Margin increases demand but also that each time a trader buy then that means that there will be a time that he will need to sell it shortly which makes them neutral and wont affect the market at all. It is not like someone is holding after using this, someone is planning on short term which involve buying and selling simultaneously

I don't follow your thinking here - do you mean sell short or sell the bitcoin soon after buying it on margin?

Of course you dont, you are not a typical day trader type it seems

Margin is buying (or selling) on loan. Shorting is take a position on the stock/bitcoin that benefits me

I know what it is.

But if majority of people using margin are using it to facilitate quick swings in the price, then this would mute long term swings in the price.

It is not But If but it is the truth of people are doing with it and that is what I meant. Seriously why would someone even hold something for a long term which he get it from a loan? people are not doing this to be honest especially when there is a significant gain in the quick swing especially in this volatile moment.

It's a question of how many traders are using margin for short term transactions vs. long term transactions, or being able to finance hodl positions.

That would be a question for you, basically Im standing with that there will be more people that use it for quick swing instead. No one is holding things that they obtain via loan, the risk is far greater than expected profit.

As the aspects of obviously not being a daytrader comment, I think thats almost everyone.

I say a good majority arent doing this based on the ability to abritrage nor its really good to daytrade since its a higher form of gambling. You can have TA but no one can read the future of a price point.

Well actually my point is that im basically stating than margin trading wont affect or boost any "real" demands for BTC as per he stated because I do understand that this is risky and mostly daytrader use it to get a quickswing on profit and not to keep and hold of it. I am a daytrader months ago and I do know what most daytrader will do if they use this option

But who is going to use it then? And what will it do to the market.. More panic sells?

Nothing basically, it will be use as a quickswing for most trader and the exchanger will get an interest from it, nothing to shabby and it wont affect the market or increase the demands for BTC

Also wonder what's happening with my second Gen shares (10)

Paid nearly 300$ for them and as I recall they came with maintenance fee included.

That's holding me back selling my account, it's not clear to me what happens with them.

I would say to wait for atleast a week, perhaps he could come up for his next Q&A and do offer the secondary options. As for the maintenance fee, everyone thought than the maintenance fee will be a year after purchase and not the end of the year and all people who bought at the black friday and christmas discount are affected as well

My account is still not cleared. I had a relatively new account. (1 month before the payment stop). I wonder if there still something happens ?!

Nothing, we are still on the same spot here. Spot where he promised he will pay what we are owed and there is nothing happen beside an empty promises . Also that he will be holding Q&A next week

P.S : We know that Chris' definition of "next week" could mean few weeks later  Wink

But he didn't run, he's still in the same spot.

Your point is? Basically he is already running away when he came up with nonsense excuse though probably sooner or later he will , could be perhaps he need to make his last Q&A so that some people could give him their sympathy
6575  Economy / Gambling / Re: PlinkoPot.com — Off-chain Plinko — 1% House Edge — Powered by Moneypot on: June 09, 2015, 06:00:31 PM
Thanks for the link. Just saw it for the first time. It seems a very nice approach for new sites to be bankrolled from the start. Maybe more developers and already existing sites should move in with them, and have a common bankroll. But wouldn't they be taking a risk if a developer plays against the bank ?

Nope, because not even the app knows what the outcome will be. We only give the casino enough information to verify we're not cheating (a provably fair scheme that can, and should be checked after each bet) but they don't know the outcome until after they bet. So MP (and its investors have no risk of a bad casino)

From what I understand you mean like a 3rd party seed generation to make it provably fair for the investors, so the site developers can't play themselves ?

In easier words there are 3 party here

1 : Developer / owner of the site
2 : player
3 : Owner of moneypot

The one who knows about this seed hash is the owner of moneypot which is Ryan and that means that the owner/developer of plinko cant cheat anything, basically they are just like an ordinary players playing on the site , if they lose then they lose as ordinary player as well just the difference is that they got their own share if there are people wagering on the site
6576  Economy / Gambling / Re: PlinkoPot.com — Off-chain Plinko — 1% House Edge — Powered by Moneypot on: June 09, 2015, 05:37:03 PM
What does it mean to be powered by Moneypot ? Did you work with them for the development, or you are only integrating their payment platform or some script with your site ?

It means that it is using moneypot API and the bankroll for the site is from moneypot's bankroll as well which in short words mean that the owner of this site cant run away with your fund even if they shut down the site because your fund is tied to moneypot and it is completely provably fair because the developer cant cheat

You may want to read more about moneypot here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1020726.0

6578  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CloudThink.IO removed management pictures after being caught with stealing on: June 09, 2015, 04:39:40 PM
Well 2 options:

1) With escrow it shows more legitimacy and people are even more likely to join the campaign and therefor promote this scam.
2) Without escrow those people who are promoting this obvious scam might not be paid by the obvious scam and therefor miss 3 days of signature payments.

TBH option 2 seems much better to me. I don't want anyone to be scammed but 3 days of having an unpaid signature in such a high risk campaign, seems not the end of the world to me.

Even if someone is proposing to escrow the fund , I doubt that he will play it nice and agree to escrow the fund as he is being too proud of himself right now as he paid alot for the campaign already. Also option 2, those people who joined the campaign should take the risk that the campaign could stop paying anytime sooner

the escrow process is very time-consuming. Escrow users require a shit tone of pgp messages, tables and charts

No, sorry but I won't escrow any funds for this campaign. The payout for our signature campaign is much larger and payments have been made in full and on time. Users can decide to not join this campaign if they don't trust me paying them.
6579  Economy / Economics / Re: Will a bank being hacked boost adoption of bitcoin? on: June 09, 2015, 11:17:35 AM
No. There is no tie between Bitcoin and fiat. Bank are centralized and Bitcoin is decentralized and sort of stands against what banks stand for.

The value of BTC is tied to FIAT anyway and thats what most people measurement are to see if BTC is dying or not. Actually what OP meant is that since there has been alot of banking security has been breached will there be a chance that people might look for a safer and much more secure things to secure their FIAT which is BTC and provide a boost to the adoption because of this

UPDATE: Accounts synchronization is still in progress. Estimated ETA to finalize synchronization is this weekend ( Monday, June Cool. After synchronization is finished, secondary option will become available. The Q&A session is set for next week.

I think I'll wait this one out just another week. I don't rule out the option yet that with finalizing the sync there might be a bit more to the balance than just the "GIVE ME THE MONIES" Wink

I doubt there would be a balance for someone who dont pay the fee to begin with, it would be unfair to those who have paid the fee if Chris give out what he owed us without paying the fee. Also that the secondary option would be an ASIC board instead which means that it will/could be send to our address (not sure about this) but I dont think mining at home could be profittable anymore

Anyway we've heard of this Q&A promises before, I just hope that he really deliver his promise this time and it will create alot of havoc in ltcgear if he really show up in there this time

Quote
The secondary option (share conversion to asic boards)

People who have paid the fee should feel bad! Like, I aint going to pay a penny untill I get paid for the past 4 months. I admit being stupid and greedy for buying 10 2nd gen shares - these shares came with maintanance fee, so you expect me to pay for it again? Cheesy Like let me first get my money back before I send more...

Sadly thats not going to happen as he will of course favor those who have paid him the nonsense fee. Even those who have paid him the fee didnt get what they are owed from the last 4 months but instead they are paying it to resume weekly payment , which is the same thing as buying a whole new share in this case.

As for the 2nd gen , probably the "chip board" should have arrived and mining (he promised the latest for the arrival was after the lunar new year ) if he indeed has the 2nd gen board and not a lie which means that he should have more coins to pay all of us. Wonder what he has to say about this new 2nd gen chip board
