If anyone has contact with the user, "davep" from darkcointalk.org, please please inform him that I'm highly interested in his domain name, darkcoin.co.uk
For some reason(I've tried about 8 times), I can't create an account on darkcointalk.org

I'd be willing to buy darkcoin.co.uk for $4,000 or more

Please PM me if "davep" if you're reading this, or contact me if someone knows him, thank you.

Hi BitGucci PM me.

BitGucci I sent you a PM. As far as I can tell, there are zero error messages on the server. As well as zero mail delivery fail messages.

As far as I can tell, you've never even tried to register. If you see this message please PM me.

This is interesting, What are you going to do with that url BitGucci ?

A darkcoin info/help/news website. Similar to bitcoin.org in a way.

I thought darkcoin.guru might be good for a website like that.

Domains For Sale
darkcoin.cc
darkcoin.name
darkcoin.mobi

Don't expect that kind of money ($4,000) for those tld. You just registered them ? lol

Anyone know the famous bitcoin people that Satoshi invited to mine Bitcoin when it was relatively new and they turned him down? I think the difficulty was really low, a few hundred at most.

Adam Back was one, he came up with hashing and PoW that Satoshi used. He then came around to the idea of Bitcoin in 2013. He could have made millions, but left it to Satoshi and a few others to mine.

I was one of the very first Bitcoin miners and earliest bitcointalk.org forum members. I found Bitcoin when doing extensive internet searches on e-currency.

I mined with an ASUS Terminator A7VT - which had a single core Sempron processor - it was faster at mining than my other tech. due to having a VIA KM266 chip-set with some very basic on board crypto acceleration. I mined 24/7 for several weeks / months. I remember solo mining loads of 'extra' 50 BTC blocks on an Asus 700 EeePC laptop in an afternoon for 'fun'. The difficulty was obviously very low and their was also only about 10 to 20 nodes in total at most for a good few weeks.

NewLibertyStandard had an exchange to PayPal - See: http://newlibertystandard.wikifoundry.com/page/2009+Exchange+Rate (that's a wiki page of the actual site!) and calculated the exchange rate with an electricity meter. I also ran a manual exchange for LR <> BTC for a while.

I'd sold, traded or exchanged all my mined BTC well before they were worth $0.50 and decided to pursue some other projects in the period just before graphics cards and pool mining - I also left due to some personal reasons. One of the last things I did was donate 500 BTC to Gavin's Faucet - which I almost kept in cold store instead.  Cry

I didn't have a good enough graphics card and some server companies had started to use massive CPU farms - their were no pools - so I couldn't mine anymore. The rest is history. I'm certainly not a rich guy.

As for forum members by user name - you can search in chronological order pretty much.

That's why I hold those precious Darkcoins.

As long as BTC price goes up, DRK price will go down.

the price releated to btc maybe, but not the intrinsic value

Yes, but since we can only buy with BTC it will always have a significant impact no?

No. Generally the price stays stable.

I just tortured myself by looking over my trades at c-cex from back in the day (Feb). I wish I had been bolder and bought more! Anyway maybe this can be shown as just one person's evidence of distribution of the early mined coins. I wasn't even in there at the start of trading. There were multi BTC orders going through for days while you could get more than 10k DRK for 1 BTC.

Hi, i'm new here. Is it safe to transfer Darkcoins to a Paperwallet address? The price goes up and up and i don't know if paperwallets are working with all these wallet updates? Can anyone lead me to a sure paperwallet?

Great question and was thinking about this today.

There is a wallet generator here -> http://paper.darkcoin.io/

BUT, I don't know if it is OK. There is no link to the wallet on the site, so maybe they wanted it not to be used.

Can you see in the darkcoin explorer if the coins are on the paperwallet? Or is the blockchain totally unreadable?

Of course you can, just check the address on the blockchain to see your balance.

Ok, i will try it with one coin... Can i send more coins to the paperwallet after?

Yes by sending them to the address.

Yeah id throw in if there was a bounty to get the whitepaper professionally translated to other languages specifically mandarin. Can find someone on elance.com

I vote we don't tell the Chinese anything. Grin

Too late  Wink

We should really get on this. It's a tiny cost compared to the awareness that it will raise.

I'm on it (madarin translation) I'll pay a translator to have this faster.

OK I have a theory on the number 1 address. Someone mentioned that the incoming addresses are all Mintpal and whoever is behind it has been having fun sending messages with the inputs/balance. What if it's the guy who runs Mintpal? He must be raking in thousands of coins every day in fees (both buys and sells). Maybe he's sending all his fees to this one address?

Send me a tip if I'm right!

darkcoin is a direct copy of the encryption used in Monero, right? Like the cryptonote algo coin?

No, people were DarkSending money before Bytecoin was even known to exist.

Really? Cryptonote (Monero's algo) was used exclusively on Tor going back as far as 18 monthes ago.  Nobody really knows what for, but there were blocks from back then and they were all filled with legit transactions.
Exact same cryptology as DarkCoin, year or more before it came out

First it was a question now it's an affirmation... So what's your point ? What are you comparing ? Darksend source is currently closed ... How do you arrive to that conclusion ?

When DRK hits $100 a masternode will be worth 100,000 bucks
Who will risk running such a server besides security geniuses?

Could this become an issue. will future masternodes require less DRK?

Evan said he is not considering lowering the DRK requirement for masternode. 1000DRK is reasonable enough and will make the 51% attack harder in the end

What we need next is someone with some programming talent to make a site like a pool, but you buy shares of a masternode. So when masternodes are much more expensive, they could still be divided down to a reasonable level. This would also allow someone who was not computer savvy to invest in masternodes, which is optimal.

I suggest the software not be based on anything existing, so it could become a darkcoin advantage over the competition. It seems pretty simple though, you buy shares for 1DRK, then it has some screens for stats and it pays out dividends much like MPOS.

Would that not in a way centralise the masternodes?

I don't think so, you share only one masternode in a server not all of them.

Nobody could help me ?
Why it still "not yet redeemed" since 3:30AM ?

Not yet redeemed means that the coins you sent haven't yet been spent.
If you see the transaction, then the coins have been properly sent as far as the blockchain is concerned.

ok, but look :
here my mintpall wallet blockchain : http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?238976.htm
and here my mintpal wallet on site : DarkCoin   DRK   23.28546721   0.00000000   0.00000000   0.00000000

where are the missing DRK ?

Submit a ticket telling them that there is a difference between the balance of your account, and the balance of your assigned address.

Except that no one is keeping anyone in the dark as the info is a sticky on the darkcointalk forums.

The dev himself explains what happened: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/the-birth-of-darkcoin.162

The guy spends 99% of his time on the Cinni coin thread and just now, tonight wants to enlighten us with some negative "informations" about Darkcoin.  Roll Eyes

honestly i only did because one of your members just did the same on cinni thread, so i was returning the favor, else i wouldnt.

peteycamey is a troll even here, don't try to emulate him, you are only hurting your coin.

Are Darkcoins logos and images copyrighted?
Is there a problem with using the logo on shirts, physical coins etc to sell at cost price?
It'd be cool to see a physical coin

Technically, anything is copyrighted the second it is created.

I created the current 3D coin graphic.  And I would not really appreciate someone selling shirts of it.
Though I don't mind people using it virtually/on-line for an icon or website. That's what it's for.
But selling completely for it's "graphic value", like on a t-shirt, would bug me.

You'd have to ask Evan or somebody official about the D logo itself.
Evan and/or Darkcoin Foundation own that. It was contracted and paid for thru DesignCrowd.

I was thinking of doing some shirts with it myself since I have a nice super hi-res version and can make variations.
But I haven't heard anything back from a similar inquiry (about t-shirts) to Evan.

Fair enough, was more interested in the D logo tbh
Thanks for the response and your work looks awesome Smiley

Everything the Darkcoin community bought (the logo and everything else) belongs to the darkcoin community. As for Enzwell's graphics? I figured that would have been covered by the boundy we paid.

+1

A coin design that does not belong to the coin community that's new.
