Wow I didn't see the reward for running a node lol I've been running 2 sense I started mining looks like I'm too late for the reward but I'll bring them back on main net

once we get the mainnet running, send me your wallet address and ill get a bounty sent out to you.

Virus Total shows this... any reason for concerns?

a lot of mining packages for cryptos come up with a virus false positive result, in any number of antivirus packages. the issue seems to be that on some the code for the mining software is the same as those used to create BTC mining botnets. another reason is because a hacker can infect a system so that the mining software is run without a window showing, so youd never know it was running. with a number of infected computers, a malicious miner can run these miners on a computer to use someone elses resources to mine on their behalf. general rule of thumb is to always download mining packages directly from the developers and you can do a trace log of the network traffic on your computer and see if anything suspicious and potentially illegitimate stands out.

will a listing of nodes be provided at launch?

there are three seed nodes set into the main net package, and ill try to ensure that user-supplied nodes are updated as soon as possible
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL - fair launch, environmentally conscious, community driven on: October 17, 2015, 01:58:37 PM
edit from previous post.. the total testnet bounties will be 45,103.609735 SOIL amongst 24 testnet contributors, according to their testnet wallet balances, at 15% capped to 5000SOIL and 3000 to the node hosters. we'll attribute my error to a pre-launch day brain fart. or a lack of caffeine. thank you for your understanding. 4 hours to launch! we'll have the main net wallet/mining package download up before launch, if anyone would like a reminder email, let me know....

as we prepare for launch tomorrow, i just want to take a few minutes and thank everyone thats helped us get to this point so far. when we release the main net package tomorrow before launch, new wallet addresses will be generated, thus im going to need those with incoming testnet bounties to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write me as soon as you are set up with your new SOIL wallet address. i want to be able to ensure that those bounties are paid out as quickly as possible, and be able to update the public ledger for the community reserve with those debits. ill be contacting everyone personally tomorrow after launch if i dont hear from them and get their updated wallet address, just to remind them. if i miss you, somehow... tomorrow WILL be a crazy busy day... please dont hesitate to let me know and ill get right on it.

we've also been working with the admin from c-cex and should have SOIL up on the exchange tomorrow within a few hours of launch, so therell be at LEAST one confirmed exchange for you to trade your testnet bounties on. we will also have our basic block explorer ready tomorrow as well, and ill post that link for everyone as soon as we launch.

id updated the information regarding the reserve on the genesis block on our website at soilcoin.xyz but since we've been busy as anything last few days preparing for the launch, much of that hasnt been updated on the OP. the community reserve will be referrenced in a public ledger that i will update here on bitcointalk twice a week (at least) and immediately upon any debit or credit on the website , under the "community" tab.

we are preparing a 800,000 SOIL community reserve. of that, a little over 160,000 SOIL will be paid out immediately to testnet contributors. this will help to bring volume and liquidity to the market for SOIL, bringing it into the hands of many people who are as of yet unaware of this project and the wonderful community supporting it. we have an official faucet prepared, and will be keeping that topped up from the community reserve when needed. the core development teams reserves is set at 200,000 SOIL which is nearly matched immediately upon launch by the testnet bounties. both myself and soil will have our wallet addresses publicly available on the website and you will be able to check our balances for veracity on our claims to be holding our reserves simply thru gsoil with the command:

web3.fromWei(eth.getBalance("insert wallet address here"), "soil")

we are very much dedicated to a transparent operation, and there will be nothing hidden. i will not release the names of the individual wallet holders for the testnet bounties on the community page... cryptocurrency is something that focuses on pseudo-anonymity and i respect that. the individual wallet holder will know their address and thats enough transparency regarding those debits from the community reserve. as for the development team, that anonymous protection is not needed. for the record, my name is abvhiael crowley, you can google me if youd like, im the only person on the planet with the name "abvhiael" (thanks mom..) and you can find me on facebook (abvhiael and-janet crowley) as well. just to put a public face to the name....

the vast bulk of the reserve will be set to bounties and further development, and thats where you, the community, will be desperately needed. we need ideas to what sorts of changes will be useful for the evolution of the system. we will move towards a one SOIL/one vote apparatus when we reach a proper threshold that ensures the distribution of SOIL has reached as many possible souls as possible. my target for this implementation is after we have minted 2million SOIL.

our first order of business after launch will be getting SOIL accepted as a mode of payment at merchants that conform to our target industry, and we've made some inroads towards that already, and will be concentrating the tech development after launch towards that goal. beyond that, it will be setting up DApps on the blockchain and making SOIL not only a currency but a stable and relevant network as well. these projects WILL take time. i envision a good year of ridiculously hard work to get this project halfway to where id like to see it go. i hope we will have each and every one of you along for the whole ride, and i hope that you make ridiculous amounts of money from mining and trading SOIL as well.

24 HOURS TO GO! i still have eleventy seven hundred things to do before we launch!! (#gray hairs) we will be posting the main net package here, and on our twitter/facebook/reddit pages before launch. many MANY ove contributed to the beginning of this grand experiment. its going to be a long long crazy ride together. theres so very much to do after we launch, and we will be working behind the scenes every day to improve the SOIL platform and bring in new features, to bring in relevant DApps and make SOIL a viable currency. we couldnt have gotten here without you guys. what a wonderful community. (even you grumpy negative nellies)

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Introducing One: A simple all-in-one platform for Ethereum on: October 14, 2015, 05:42:33 PM
sadly, this site became another thieving bastard who disappeared with everyones money. dns lookup on oneether.com shows they used whoisguard protection to hide their identity, but its easy enough to find someone. when i do discover this scammers real name and address, phone number, etc, ill post it here, there, and everywhere. i didnt lost much, but i despise the fac that they claimed "Here at OneEther we're all about transparency. We, like the community, are hurt when something ridiculous happens that ruins trust in a decentralized marketplace" and then go ahead to ruin that trust.

MrYukonC at reddit followed the money, and its been stolen... following is a snippet of his post:

"Finally, it was noticed yesterday that the entire website had gone offline and all remaining funds in the pool's account were transferred into a newly created account which then funneled everything to an account at Poloniex.

Here are the transaction details:

Here is the link to their pool's original Ethereum address: https://etherchain.org/account/0x329a2da2753351f9b5d7a7c9ac51664278b3b817

Please note that the remaining pool balance of 143.55423654686445 Ether was transferred yesterday (as of the time of this post) to the following account (which appears to be a newly created account): https://etherchain.org/account/0x21440d9a3062a2c8332e91c229b7986a1c8c14eb

It was then sent from that account to Poloniex: https://etherchain.org/account/0x32be343b94f860124dc4fee278fdcbd38c102d88

I wanted to post this to help raise awareness."

i DESPISE scammers like this and hope we find him out and are able to exact some sort of retribution on them...
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL - fair launch, environmentally conscious, community driven on: October 14, 2015, 04:47:09 PM
our website has been updated, you can find the new SOILcoin webstie at soilcoin.xyz

the links on the website set are still for the testnet packages. the mainnet packages are completed, and we will set out the links to them here on the forum before the launch with as many online file hosting services as possible to make your download quick and painless. we will update the links on the website immediately upon launch as well.

we have a VERY basic block explorer ready, presently it is connected to the test net and is being tested.

we will have a dedicated mining pool with a few surprises for the folks with regular hashrate mining capabilities, we're just working out the implementations right now.

the faucet is ready, and will be pointed towards the mainnet community reserve upon launch.

we are still awaiting official confirmation from the exchanges, and any help (voting on cryptsy or c-cex) would be appreciated. let the exchanges know YOU want SOIL listed with them. i can only write so many letters to them.

im presently researching mining pools to approach, and will only settle on long-established and well respected mining pools. too many fly-by-night operations exist, up for a few days with promises to remit mined funds and then disappearing and we wont use them, or the operators of such that pop up intermittently everywhere. bad pool owners exist with every coin (oneether disappeared recently, after no payouts over eight days and now the site is down, taking everyones mined coins with them...) and we want to put SOIL up in as many places as possible to ensure a well distributed global hashrate, but we will insist on QUALITY pools above all else.

see you all on saturday!!!

670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil (SOIL) - Fair Launch, No premine, based on Ethereum on: October 12, 2015, 11:05:41 PM
Could somebody present schedule of launch event?

On the OP.

I mean further details, first goals in short perspective, what else in mid perspective.

in the short term, launching SOIL and ensuring exchanges, pools, etc are established. i will be setting up social media giveaways to promote the brand, and working on the adoption of SOIL towards real asset purchases in retailers that represent our targeted industry sector, which will also require the implementation of Android/iPhone wallets to deal with point of sale purchases.

DAPPs development will be going on to port applications to the network and targeted communications, first wth industry innovation creators and then endusers will be done. like ive said, this is by no means a short term project, and hard work will continue behind the scenes to bring SOIL to its maturation, something more than just a speculative currency to become exchange fodder.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SOIL - fair launch, environmentally conscious, community driven on: October 12, 2015, 12:24:57 AM
we are on the voting list for C-CEX, so please take the time and vote for us at https://c-cex.com/?id=vote.
and dont forget to (hold your nose if necessary) and vote for SOIL at cryptsy. https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/

The more diverse the exchanges that SOIL is listed on will help stablize the coin valuation over the long run, protecting everyones investments.

*i'll get to everyone elses questions after the baseball game!*
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 11, 2015, 03:39:01 AM
not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but was just wondering if anyone knows whats up with oneether's pool? payments from the pool were regular and steady up until last week, but there hasnt been anything done in a week now. im a low hashrate miner, and have been using oneether since its inception, but no response has been received when i wrote them on facebook. id want to trust them, i like their service, and with their whole platform released as open source, it seems as though they are trying hard to be a real player in the community, but with no payments made whatsoever recently, the pool is down to two miners, myself and someone else. im still making shares, even though im not making MUCH overall.

is it time to walk away from oneether to another pool?
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil (SOIL) - Fair Launch, No premine, based on Ethereum on: October 09, 2015, 09:01:51 PM
How many other Ethereum clones are you going to be launching in the coming months?

theres absolutely no plan to launch any other coin. we are married to this project for the long run. as it is, im working 8-10 hours a day on it, and once we launch, 12 hour days will be normal i think. what we're planning with SOIL in no way ends with the launch, it gets more intense after that, theres much much more to be done. im dedicated to bringing SOIL to its end product, and am under no illusion that it can be done in a short time. im swinging for the fences with it, certainly, but ive got a detailed roadmap for what directions i need to concentrate on when we launch, aside from managing the community here, and being available to answer questions.

There has been problems with all of the Etheruem launches. Tons of blocks get mined in the first 8 to 24 hours.

You should fix the difficulty adjustment algorithm before launching.

with a 35 second targeted blocktime, the average number of blocks we will be mining in any given day will be around 2500. that will lead to 15,000 SOIL being minted. in reality, from watching how mining on ethereum has gone, or expanse, and theres a lot of 2 minute blocks, and just as many 5 second ones. in implementing dr. kimoto chan's (of megacoin fame) gravity well difficulty algorithm, which readjusts difficulty every block (instead of every epoch of 2016 blocks with bitcoin, for example), to ensure that SOIL follows its intended distribution curve while also keeping the network stable in the long term.

this means, if a large number of miners and pools throw a lot of hashing power at SOIL over the first few days, difficulty will be automatically adjusted to take this into account and prevent a crippling difficulty later on due to early massive mining activity. using the gravity well also keeps 5000 blocks from being mined in a day, and this keeps the coin secure and equitable for all miners and users of the coin. its greatest affect is seen when a coin is mined on a multipool which features profitability switching. when miners are pointed to a coin, the hashrate increases, block times would natually shorten. when miners are pointed away again, global hashrates decrease leading to longer block times. in order to keep the distribution of SOIL along a predictable path, using the gravity well will help keep us on track.

without using the gravity well, a megaminer with a high hashing GPU rig could skew blocktimes far too low, which would create a massive difficulty upon a new difficulty epoch, which would drive miners away and can make a coin stagnant and eventually can kill it. at that point the only real measure to treat it is a hard fork on the coin, or simply grind out the mining at the high difficulty until enough blocks are found to reach the next difficulty epoch. along with the dagger algorithm, use of the kimoto gravity well will help fight against malicious intent from miners by constantly readjusting according to the global hash rate after every block. this fits in well with our stated aim to try to keep a democratized mining activity available to everyone.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil (SOIL) - Fair Launch, No premine, based on Ethereum on: October 09, 2015, 05:55:17 PM

The days of launching a coin based on a bullshit real-world use that doesn't actually justify the existence of the coin are long over.

You need tech. These days, just the bullshittiness of an ANN, like this one, means the devs have nothing in mind and couldn't deliver even if they did.

This one is dead within a month.

well, i hope we can prove you wrong. i make no mistake that carving out a relevant place in the cryptocurrency world will be difficult, but ive also made it clear that the business plan behind this isnt something thats going to reach full fruition within a month, or six. its going to be a long process and require a lot of work from our development team to implement and realize.

one has to remember, that the IDEA of what can be accomplished with the Ethereum-network based blockchain, the platform that enables applications to be run on it, is the nascent birth of a new technology. we are still pretty far from mass adoption, the first DAPPs that proliferate will be financially based ones, moving money (SOIL) around. in order to reach the next complexity of DAPPs, to bring us closer to popular adoption, we need to CREATE VALUE in the real world, beyond the exchanges and speculative currency paradigm of most altcoins. We need to be able to use SOIL to sell goods, to provide a service. we need to be able to offer DAPPs that will SAVE the enduser money.

when you look at the cloud service agricultural applications that exist today, the monthly subscription costs to the enduser can run several hundred dollars a year. with a decentralized global network offering a digital ecosystem that is able to run code in a quasi-Turing complete manner, taking advantage of the parallel growth of the new technologies emerging in our target industrial market, the "fuel" that SOIL will provide to run those applications, and the cost to the enduser to have those DAPPs ported onto the SOIL-blockchain will provide an ongoing revenue stream that can be shared into the community reserves, ensuring liquidity and ongoing development.

delivering on those ideas WILL be hard, no doubt about it. we're talking about selling a brand new technology, and creating a trusted brand. this isnt something that will be accomplished overnight, but in order to sell a product, we must first have taken the steps to HAVE a product to sell. we have to start with the speculative currency that will be tradable on the markets, show our stability, find the proper price valuation that makes it profitable and incentivizing to the miners and community to remain involved.

and as this is being accomplished,  working along several other paths to make SOIL an asset that can be used to purchase REAL GOODS that coexist within the stated market audience. ive already begun working along this vein and pushing for acceptance in the simplest of markets, online retail sales that, to this point, havent embraced digital cryptocurrency as a means of payment. (veseys and burpees seed companies as an example) there are other market-specific retailers that will also be approached, and in and of itself, that will be a challenging job, but any marketing to a new market, that first inroad, ALWAYS is. what it takes is determination and dedication, which myself and soil have in spades, and the programming side of that... android wallets, etc... are being worked on, but again, if you expect a finished product in eight days beyond the simple speculative currency side of this project, then perhaps you would be better served to watch us and wait to see how we are performing on day 31.

inception and adoption of DAPPs is the other direction towards mass adoption for SOIL, and again, by focusing our efforts towards a specific market sector, our vision can be tailored to introducing them to the blockchain, to what service we can supply for them. like i said, this is not a cryptocurrency that will be at its maturation point in a month, or six months. within a year, id say, we should start to see a lot of movement with where the technology will take us, and in that time, the developers at ethereum will have come up with novel ways to promote the underlying platform and tackle things such as proof of stake as well.

we are not slinging bullshit, BUT with bio-mass generators that can be optimized and utilized through a decentralized server, eventually therell be some bullshit involved, as well as sheepshit and chickenshit. this is a vision for a product that can become something incredible. whether its value spikes thru the roof and challenges ethereum for market share is irrelevant. the valuation of SOIL is a side issue compared to what is going to built ON TOP of the currency. have some patience, watch as we grow, it wont be "TO THE MOON!" as so many like to say, itll be incremental and ongoing. this isnt about get rich quick schemes, and ANYONE who expect altcoins to provide them that, ive got some swampland in st.esprit here on cape breton island i could interest you in, too. this is about building a product unlike whats come before, on the shared vision that futurists like vitalik butterin and gavin wood have just begun to touch on.

i think thats half the issue WITH ethereum, everyone expects the full dream and promise behind it to be realized YESTERDAY when we wont really see its complete integration into every part of how we do business on the internet for a good decade. this is the forefront of the technology, this is about finding out where it can go, and pushing those limits to create something that will end up with the gradual take-over of simple logic based computational programming by machine intelligence as the next stage of social evolution. this is NOT about creating an economic competitive edge, this is not about pure profit motive.

we do have an altruistic intention, we want to incorporate SOILs integration towards green energy delivery and management, to act in a small way as stewards for the environment as well. the present political and socio-economic systems are unable to grasp the true benefits  of the quickening innovation in technology, both in the world of cryptocurrency and those in the real world, including our targeted market sector. cultural change does not keep pace with technological change, but those who are able to grasp the implications of the ethereum-based virtual machine, how we are creating a programmatic network infrastructure for developing and HOSTING decentralized applications that guarantee trust, reliency (the unfailing network with perpetual uptime), and a consensus for terms agreed upon in smart contracts.. those are going to be the ones who stand to profit down the road as the founding fathers of a future society.

and with immensely hard work, we want SOIL to be a part of that future, we want to be the innovators. we will offer an advantage and competition to cloud based automated agricultural automation, we will be able to host software essential for crop management, finance management, livestock management, order processing and pricing management, a hub between suppliers and endusers, agricultural futures trading platforms, traceability.

i was raised within the market that we are targeting and understand the needs it faces as it continues to evolve to a completely roboticized and automated ecosystem. soil, our software and DAPP developer, has the knowhow to bridge that gap between where the technology is today and what it needs to be for tomorrow, and what we are releasing in EIGHT SHORT DAYS is the skeleton of what we are working to accomplish.

you give us a month. i think you are short sighted. i give us ten years. and it WILL BE ten years of hard work and steady growth. i hope we can change your mind on day 31, and again on day 366, and again on day 3651.

Our present, outmoded political and economic systems are unable to apply the real benefits of today's innovative technology to achieve the greatest good for all people, and to overcome the inequities imposed upon so many. Our technology is racing forward yet our social designs have remained relatively static. In other words cultural change has not kept pace with technological change. We now have the means to produce goods and services in abundance for everyone.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Soil (SOIL) - Fair Launch, No premine, based on Ethereum on: October 07, 2015, 02:37:55 AM
What is dagger algo plz?

Dagger is a  "memory-hard to compute, memory-easy to verify" Scrypt alternative algorithm.  "memory  hardness" is a property of PoW functions that assumes that valid proof of work should require not only a large number of computations, but also a large amount of memory. he reson WHY memory hardness is important is to make the PoW function "resistant" to specialized hardware, what is considered ASIC-resistant. That doesnt mean its ASIC-"PROOF" just that it makes setting up a mining rig against the network is much less cost-effective.

With the advent of ASIC mining rigs, which are designed for the sole purpose of computing the billions of SHA256 hashes required to mine a block of Bitcoin, with greater efficiency and less KW/H, it has become nearly impossible for ordinary users with normal GPU and CPU hardware to compete for mining block rewards. The presence of ASICs has removed the "democratic distribution" of mining, meaning there is a further cetralization of mining power in the hands of fewer and fewer individuals.

This can lead to the "51% attack" where one cabal which has control of the simple majority of the hashing percentage devoted to the verification of a blockchain can essentially hijack the blockchain. This means that a pool of miners with ASICSs can obtain a majority of network power, potentially enabling massive double spending attacks and preventing transaction confirmations, holding the blockchain hostage. "Memory hardness" is designed to alleviate this problem by making the main limiting factor in hash computations MEMORY and not CPU power.

Naturally, with GPU mining of dagger hashimoto algorithm coins, mining rigs created of several high powered graphics cards again tilts the balance of power away from the average home based computer with generic CPU and GPU capabilities, but not by as steep a factor as ASIC mining has pushed out BTC miners at home. Theres still room for improvement in the algorithms, as you can find miners at several pools who are contributing massive amounts of computational power towards solving blocks of Ethereum, another Dagger-based currency.

For example, at suprnova, a single user, anonymous of course, is processing 11,223,958 KH/s (11.2GH/s) towards the ETH network via the pool, mining 550+ ETH a day, which has a value of nearly 1.5BTC ($400USD) every single day. This is accomplished by linking together MANY multiples of expensive graphics cards. Its a lot more expensive to set up than a SHA256-dedicated ASIC mining rig, both in hardware costs and in electrical consumptin, but it IS effective. And it is a factor towards mining centralization, but nearly as much so as what BTC faces with massive ASIC-farms. When you consider that approximately 7200 ETH are mined a day (given a 60second block time), the megaminer at suprnova is only generating about 7.6% of the daily Ethereum.

A single 25MH/s producing video card (like the Radeon R9 series) can likely mine .6 ETH/day on a mining pool. Not as great a profit, but a better volume than BTC mining allows nowadays. So even though its not as intrinsically democratically distributed as was envisioned, every person mining on the daggr algorithm specific currencies has a better chance of solving a block for its reward, or for gathering a somewhat substantial rate of return in mining on a pool.

So.. dagger works like this: the  Dagger algorithm creates a directed acyclic graph (the DAG you notice setting up the first time you start mining using geth ((or in our case gsoil)) and which updates every epoch [which i believe is every 200,000 blocks] and can take several minutes to generate) DAG is the technical term for a datatree in which each "node" is allowed to have multiple "parents", with ten levels of data including the root and a total of 2 to the power of 25 - 1 values. This equates to a total DAG size of about 512MB, as each memory unit is a 32-byte hash.

In levels 1 thru 8 of this data tree, the value of each node depends on three separate nodes in the level above it, and the number of nodes in each level is eight times larger than in the previous level of data. When you reach level 9 of the data tree, the value of each node depends on 16 of its parents in the level above it, but the level itself is only twice as large as the previous.

Finally, the Dagger algorithm uses the all the underlying data, combined with a nonce (which is a 32-bit [4 byte]) data field designed to make the "hash" of a block contain a run of 0s, (the cryptographic hash function) and when mining many MANY nonce combinations are tried in order to produce the correct hash to solve the block, and when found, the result is a valid proof of work, and the block reward is dispersed. It takes 512MB to evaluate, 112KB memory and 4078hashes to verify the block, making it very much memory-hard instead of computationally-hard.

Theres room for improvement with further democritizing the mining processes, and no matter what algorithm is created, there will ALWAYS be that one clever ape who designs a working rig to improve their chances, but with the dagger algo, theres at least a more equilibrious playing field. That all being said, i still prefer getting a little more frequently from a mining pool than i do waiting and praying that my 800KH/s  Radeon R5 GPU will find a block EVENTUALLY, MAYBE. but at least with dagger, if i wanted to push all my power into solo mining, i still have a CHANCE, which is much more than BTC or many other popularily mined coins.

thus far, we have bleutrade that should be ready for launch, just waiting on final confirmations.
you can vote for us at cryptsy: https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes (we have 11 votes so far, we need lots more!)
we are awaiting moderator review at cryptopia for inclusion into their coin voting program, i will announce when you can vote for us there.
we are awaiting confirmation at poloniex as well.

we are also looking into the development of a faucet that would open within 48hours after launch as well as having us included on the bleufaucet.
No, not Cryptsy, no... they're one of the worst exchanges out there! I'd recommend everyone stay away from Cryptsy.
Poloniex would be great, though.

Regardless, SOIL will be lucky to get listed on any of the top 3 exchanges after launch.

-tb-

i dont think its very far from the realms of possibility. ethereum is listed at all 3, as is expanse. shift is listed at both bittrex and cryptsy, and none of these coins are very long from their releases. the fact that ethereums platform has such a widespread shine to it right now makes getting SOIL included on the exchange much easier in fact.

its not rocket science to get listed, many like cryptsy rely on voting schemes for inclusion and a strong community will help that happen quickly. much of it is simply communicating with the exchanges, showing ones committment. another factor is community involvement, so if YOU want to see SOIL on an exchange, write them and tell them. the more that DO the faster and more widely spread acceptance of SOIL on the exchanges will be realized.

nothing is impossible. ive recently been in contact with gemini exchange (the one the winklevoss twins are opening to trading on thursday) and the support administrator ive talked to there was very interested in SOIL, and im waiting for word back after presenting additional information for the business office at kraken, who dont normally add more than a few coins a season. its all about talking to as many people as possible. its all about a positive attitude and honest assessment of the asset you are bringing to their attention.

if you dont swing for the fences youll never hit a homerun.

Hey dev, you didn't replied me yet. Are you interested by a French translation of the OP ?

assurément. (smiles) that would be wonderful.

Firstly SOIL should be listed on smaller exchanges such as: C-CEX and BLEUTRADE (my favourite!).

Than it could be much easier to meet requirements of BITTREX, CRYPTSY and finally POLONIEX - currently the best crypto exchange.
These two steps are necessary. Honestly its really hard to believe that someone from "big threesome" would add SOIL immediately.
As a user of SOIL we should show them we are determined to be listed, Dev Team should show they are clever. As they said: Without proper eligibility, you cannot work in this profession.

i had completely forgotten about c-cex. ive requested that SOIL be added to their voting process and will update everyone when that option is available. i want to be certain to get SOIL onto a few exchanges for when we launch to give you, the community, somewhere to exchange them and to get SOIL into as many hands as possible. everyone deserves a little dirt under their fingernails!! ive gotten good replies from poloniex, so it might not be as far fetched an idea we have early inclusion there. i have made a request into bittrex, and the fact that they value currency that features "a strong contribution to science or humanity" might give us a leg up there.

i want SOIL to be a very socially conscious coin, and the vision going forward to concentrate on serving the automated agricultural community and to develop DAPPs for renewable energy generation and the like, is at its heart, what i think is going to make SOIL stand heads and shoulders above the glut of vanity coins on the market. for me, this project is more than about just making a new altcoin, its about finding a way to make a small difference in the world. there are some things that are more important than just making a buck.

as i mentioned in an earlier post, ive already had discussions with a large (and hugely automated) meat hen producer in the netherlands who is a friend of the family, who also runs a biomass generator to produce green energy that supplies power to several hundred homes nearby year round by converting process residues from both the chicken farming aspect of his operation but also fiber from his fields to his decomposition and combustion process to produce electricity. he is immensely interested in developing the autonomous operations on his farm onto the SOIL-blockchain for an always running decentralized server processor. its a first step.

those that hold ETH in their portfolios presently and are so dead set against it, heres my ETH wallet..

just ship them over to me and ill give them a good home.

Cheap trick, of course noone will send you ETH and this doesn't prove your point because noone will send ETH for free if they can get at least 1 satoshi for that.

of course they wont. im just trying to illustrate how silly some of the people here sound. no currency, crypto or otherwise, will EVER have a pure value gain. there will always be bear and bull trends in the marketplace. if they truly think ETH is a scam, then why did they invest? were they coerced into investing, of course not. we make our own decisions on what to invest in, and live with the consequences for good or ill. have i made boneheaded investments that i lost out on... definitely, and more than one. sometimes you have to take a loss, or wait it out and buy again at the nadir of the price curve, or hold it and hope that it eventually pays dividends. the ONLY time its worthwhile to bitch and moan is when an exchange screws you over and takes your entire portfolio and disappears. of course, due diligence in researching the exchange is your responsibility, just as it is researching the cryptocurrencies you think about investing in. and if you cant affford to lose the money you plan on investing, dont invest. nothing is certain. and to start the FUDapalooza less than two months since ethereum began trading, its the sign of an impatient investor. and theyll NEVER make that overnight millions if they cant innovate the system themselves and instead just hope to profit off of someone elses work. its easy to yell "scam! scam! SCAM!" when things dont go your way or when someone profits more than YOU do, its much harder to take personal responsibility for ones own choices.

and i DID offer to fed-ex a kitten in exchange for their unwanted ETH. kittens are cute, ethereum to them is ugly and vile, so its a wonderful trade off. (laughs) you despereately need to recharge your sarcasm-o-meters batteries.

im still a believer that Ethereum will hold a lot of promise. we're still only in the first stage of their planned release, and anyone who wants to make a quick fortune on ANY altcoin will be disappointed. the key to any market is patience. the fact is, while the developers may have suffered from fiscal mismanagement and have struggled to live up to the schedules they promised initially, they still have a development team that is very involved with the project.

i dont see ETH as a scam coin. i view those as the ones that are simple clones of something with no vision of innovation, the ones where the developers releases the coin, the ones with massive premines that have no justification (or instamines) and a complete lack of transparency. the ones where the developers disappear quickly after release (once theyve made their money). the fact that vitalik is remaining heavily involved and communicative is why i have faith in the currency and platform as a whole.

theyve done wonders making mining easier, and the integrated mining inthe releases has been brilliantly convenient. and although theyve failed in their ideal of keeping mining from becoming centralized in the hands of a few megaminers, the idea of ASIC-resistance is something that others who build forks and clones of ETH will improve on. theyve made a LOT of blunders, but that happens a lot more (and worse) with a lot of other altcoins.

i think a big problem with Ethereum, right now, isnt with the development team, its with the traders who expected to make themselves into instant millionaires and contributed to the decline of the currency by dumping their massively mined coins. there are no guarantees in any speculative market and until Ethereum's promise of a DAPP rich blockchain is realized, thats all ETH really is.

what would create more trust would be for vitalik, and the core development team to make their wallet addresses public so that they can be monitored by the community, and to commit to holding those funds, or placing them under slow release contracts. they have to have an incentive to continue working on the project, but there does need to be a sense of trust from the community, and full transparency in this cryptocurrency world is necessary to KEEP trust.

i can see ethereums value continuing to drop, which suits me fine because i cant mine as ridiculously many ETH as those who have two thousand dollar GPU rigs set up to take advantage of the market and i have to build my stake the old fashioned way with intelligent trading strategies. those that hold ETH in their portfolios presently and are so dead set against it, heres my ETH wallet..

just ship them over to me and ill give them a good home. i can even Fed-Ex you a kitten in return (chuckles). those who are complaining about ETH who arent holding any in their portfolio are just trolls. simple as that. they COULD use a good group of community managers who can keep a consistent message in the social media and altcoin forum world, (im available, i have a couple hours a day free aside from acting as community manager for another altcoin, ill even take payment in ETH.)
