661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My sweet and bitter experience about bitcoin on: August 10, 2018, 03:03:54 PM
I started my cryptocurrency journey around July 2017. I bought some altcoins;  verge; dodge, Xrp Siacoin on Bittrex and left some on bitcoin. It was a roller coaster for me around November to December 2017, particularly with verge, my crypo investment of just about $120 grew to a little bit over $3,000. I never new on time until I opened my bittrex. It was wao!

I took out some money since I was in need about $1000. With the euphoria of bitcoin suppasing $20,000, so I watched until my investment shrinked from about $2000 to $1500, then $1000, I decided to take out some little more until I had about $800 left.

That amount have shrinked further to about $450. The worst came when I took a third of the amount to buy Mithril coin when the news came that it won a vote to be listed on binance,  and suddenly it was disqualified,  and the price have falling like packs of cards, more than 50% right now.

Its a question of if I had known, I would have withdrawn the $3000 the moment I saw it on my bittrex account. Who can tell the future?

But I am wiser now.

Does anyone have similar experience
Its nice to know that people like you take their mistakes as a lesson. Its nice to see that you didnt lose hope and you continue on supporting bitcoin. I hope that if other experience something like this it will make them even stronger so if someday that it will happen again they have the right mind to choose what is right for them.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese government banned all of ICOs on: August 05, 2018, 02:49:44 PM
This is not good in crypto community. I hope the price of bitcoin will recover.

But the Chinese community is really vital in crypto space so hopefully they find other means on how to deal their cryptocurrency investments.

There’s an article regarding China producing their own cryptocurrency: https://m.scmp.com/business/companies/article/2118468/chinas-central-bank-studying-its-own-digital-currency-even-it

So the reason why they are banning te use of bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency even when there’s a lot of chinese who are investing and involved in bitcoin is because the country is planning on producing their own cryptocurrency

Its like that Chinese government becomes more strict in cryptocurrency. Seems that they found some element of scam in ICOS, which become the reason they want to banned it. For the benefit of Chinese. May people would benefit from it since it can be a  for of warning to many people not only in China.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NO! Do Not Invest all you have on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies on: August 05, 2018, 01:42:47 PM
I have read several posts on this forum where people have claimed to have invested all the money they have on Bitcoin, I also read a post where a guy claimed to have used all the $20,000 his uncle gave him to also invest in Bitcoin, some even sold their landed property. The reason for these risks and others is the firm believe that Bitcoin would be $50,000 - $100,000 by the year 2019 or thereabout.

First, I must say that I admire the courage and high risk appetite of such persons. But, I must also warn.
Yes, It is good for everyone to have high hopes for Bitcoin, and also hope it gets to 100k USD in future, but you should also consider a safety factor in anything you do including investing.

Mathematically,

DO NOT Assume,
P(Success of future term) = 1 ; and
P(Failure of future term) = 0

This implies that, you must always leave a little fraction for probability of failure which in this case is the safety factor, no matter how little the fraction may be. Simply put, you don't have absolute control of what happens to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in the future.

Invest wisely, only invest what you can afford to loose

Just a piece of advice.

What are your own suggestions?
Thats right , Even I dont invest too much money in bitcoin since somehow Im afraid to lose my money. People always choose to risk even tho sometimes its not the best choice to make. Well we must think of the consequences of the choice we make.
664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Kardashian promoting Bitcoin on instagram. During Poker Game. on: August 04, 2018, 08:07:44 PM

She was playing poker and in one of the hands, it starts to use Bitcoin as poker chips.

665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DONT INVEST IN BTC IF YOU CAN'T OR AFRAID OF TAKING RISK on: August 04, 2018, 07:36:58 PM
This life is full of risks and indeed we are all taking part of it. No one knows Satoshi Nakamoto but people have invested in BTC. In our education we even take risk considering the fact that after school you might not get work.

Over the past months people have been complaining about the price of BTC and I think we should all know something very important. If you are a kind of person who is afraid to take risk. I saw some post talking of anxiety about btc investment and was like if you  can't take risks just leave the crypto world cos you might end up getting  Hypertension Grin.

Check this post out guys- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4706131.0
                                      https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4469252.0

Hope I am right guys? Any comments and suggestions.
You're right. Investment is always a risk. Its really hard to risk on something that you really dont know like for example if you are lack of knowledge about bitcoin and you choose to risk then you are just wasting you money, time, and effort. You need to be brave enough so you can handle different situations in bitcoin.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Satoshi Nakamoto been given any award for btc? on: August 04, 2018, 06:26:09 PM
I have not found any information yet if the creator of btc has received any prestigious award like most scientists do for their discoveries and inventions.Any ideas?Personally I think he deserves to be rewarded big time .
How can he received any award if he dont want to be known by other people , if he choose to hide his real identity than to be famous. But the best award he could received is the people who keep supporting bitcoin.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Awareness is the biggest influence. on: August 04, 2018, 05:54:57 PM
So we all know BTC drops when people sell their coins... but the peaking is purely because of investments...

The mall in S.Korea that started accepting BTC as of this month played a massive roll in BTC's growth. Obviously this is because BTC's awareness is growing!

Surely there are ways to bring the awareness of cryto to the population.

Are there any other 'blow ups' of crypto that you have heard of? Similar to the mall...
What are you doing to spread the awareness? Smiley
I agree with you. One way to spread awareness is to share some experiences and let them used it as an inspiration so they can follow and be guided by your words.
668  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My small advice about crypto market on: August 03, 2018, 07:19:46 PM
Many people are still hesitant between trade and hold. In my opinion, Investment is different from speculation is that you spend time and knowledge for it. When you trust and understand, you will not be afraid of the volatility of the market. It's an investor or a HOLDER. It's very good, but I think you get to know the market, trade, the cycle of market so you can be an investor, a smart holder.
"Don’t be a blind bull. ALL markets are cyclical. Don’t be afraid of pullbacks or market crashes – that’s where you can make the most money"
Dont be afraid to hold because sometimes holding is the best option to earn a bigger profit . Its really good advice I hope it helps other people like me. Its nice to share their knowledge to others.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you do when someone say bitcoin is illegal thing? on: August 03, 2018, 03:51:37 PM
Most of the common people think that bitcoin is used only by hackers and criminals, even one of my friend said that it is used by hackers when I am telling about crypto currency to him.Later I explained what is bitcoin and other crypto currencies but still he confused,he can only get what is bitcoin when he research about himself.

In this situation how can we explain that what is real bitcoin?
I will explain properly to them so they can easily understand. They used to blame bitcoin without a proper proof. I will defend bitcoin and proove them that it helps so many people and it was legalize in other country.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No women in Bitcoin you say? on: July 31, 2018, 05:27:31 PM
But the biggest fuck-up of all: Lightning Network / Lightning Labs is led by Elizabeth Stark.  If you like train wrecks, get Elizabeth to lead us there.

You can see for yourself how Lightning works...

We are all allowed to invest in bitcoin , does gender reallly matter? Dont you think that its kinda women discrimination? As long as you have good intention in using bitcoin then its fine. In fact we can do what men can do , we are strong enough like you . So for me its unfair.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO STOP HACKERS TO HACK YOUR CRYPTO WALLET on: July 31, 2018, 04:04:48 PM
HOW TO STOP HACKERS TO HACK YOUR CRYPTO WALLET
Protect yourself from cyber criminals

Good day to all of you guys I am EdsnowAngel a programmer and a bit security tester in different platforms. Now I heard to my friends a lot of concerns saying "please help me my bitcoin wallet was hacked!!"
Ok ok first thing first when your bitcoin wallet gets compromised then your funds was send in different wallet then it is irreversible meaning no return of funds!! so I wanna tell everyone how to protect your bitcoin wallet from such kind of situation.

1st: Protect your GMAIL or EMAIL ACCOUNT

We all know we use GMAIL as our email provider for such accounts like blockchain then we can recover and approve login with email in some wallets, now when your email account was targeted and get compromised then say goodbye to your bitcoin. To secure your bitcoin wallet(ex: blockchain or other) go to your google account settings. and then turn on the 2FA(2nd factor authentication) here is the guide on how to do it: STEP BY STEP GUIDE

2nd: Use your own DEVICE or COMPUTER/PHONE

It's a very bad idea to use someones device(ex:from friend) to make a transaction in your bitcoin wallet why? because first you don't know what is the capability of that person regarding that matters and you don't know if that phone has a lot of malwares and spywares. So we cannot say that you are safe using someones device to make transactions.

3rd: Always backup you PK's or PRIVATE KEYS

This is the most important thing to remember for everyone using your ETH or BTC wallet without backing up your Private keys then you can't recover you wallet in case you forgot your wallet.PK's are very important but there are thing you should do first. Make sure you store your PK backup somewhere that you only know and not from your computer because there are some spyware that might inside of your computer that can steal that file so make sure you back it up print in a paper and hide it to the place where you only know.

4th: Don't open links from malicious emails

This method was called email phishing where an attacker will send the same email in thousands of random users once the victim will click the link in that email then his or her device was compromised to avoid this please do not click the links included in the email immediately please always have time to check who is the sender of that email and if that email is came from the site where it supposed to came from.

5th: Do not trust PUBLIC WIFI

It's quite good to have access with free wifi's but have you think this: IS THIS A SAFE NETWORK? without you knowing maybe some of the people connected to that same network may have idea and skill on how to sniff passwords and credentials this method was so called DNS SPOOFING or SNIFFING if you want to use public wifi then use it not just with your bitcoin transactions.

6th: Do not login on Suspicious links

This method is called PHISHING where an attacker  will send you a link to login with your bitcoin wallet luring you with the legitimate site example is:
the real site is: https://www.blockchain.info/
the fake site is: http://www.blockchain.ga/

then once you login to the fake site then the hacker or attacker will have now your credentials. Please always check for the green lock on the url bar and the word HTTPS in the link.

so this are some of the way to stop hackers to hack your bitcoin or crypto wallet. If you have other information then you can comment it down and lets help others.
This thing will help us , finally someone gives information about this. Its nice to see that other people care about us . This information gives us knowledge especially for those begginers. Thankyou for this advice / tips.
672  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be your wish for BTC ? on: July 30, 2018, 05:22:53 PM
I have seen several post which speaks btc is not dead, whether investment or not, whether it is really for risk takers or not and several of these topic triggered me to come to the point that in deed if one had a wish for BTC, how will that be for bitcoin?
I wish that bitcoin gives more opportunities to us, and I hope it will legalized all over the world. I wish it can be used in different transactions like in paying bills at different stores. More develop and price stability.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to use your brain on: July 30, 2018, 04:20:22 PM
In summation this week...

1.) Don't use the same password on a bunch of places
2.) Don't trade a decentralized currency in one central place
3.) Don't leave a pile of cash or BTC in an account at a website that everybody uses, but nobody really knows anything about
4.) Don't put 25,000 BTC in one wallet
5.) If you walk into a room full of cocks with a lubed up ass, consider the possibility you may get fucked.

Too many people here can tell you every technical detail about a block chain, and read transactions, but do the stupidest, common-sense-avoidable shit, and throw a tantrum.

If somebody lost 400k BTC in one transaction, in my mind, it's Satoshi or Mt. Gox's main account.  There are probably people behind the scenes working on this now, and when the market opens, there is blood in the water, and there will be sharks.  Don't sell your fucking bitcoins.  Seriously.  You're going to lose your ass.  Wait a couple of weeks for all the drama to die down.  Or sell them all, and we will buy them all up.  But don't come in here crying a week from now saying you wish you'd held on to it.

There are very very few people here, all with small BTC amounts, claiming to have their Mt. Gox funds stolen.  Whomever those 400k belonged to, they are who is going to take the hit.  Mt. Gox will more than likely go out of business because of this, as they probably should.

Somebody should have noticed these vulnerabilities before it was compromised.  People also need to keep in mind that a key feature of this whole thing is that the transactions are designed to not be reversible.  Obviously this is a special case, but in general, if you have a lot of $BTC lying around someplace stupid, you should keep in mind if you lose it, that it is GONE.  If it's a significant, or complete, chunk of your portfolio, you shouldn't leave it lying around on the equivalent of a park bench.
Finally , a very nice advice. We have different strategy on how our we going to manage out bitcoin , we need to use our brain so we can easily think or decide on what are we going to do. We need to think wisely.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN = FUTURE on: July 30, 2018, 02:00:29 PM
I agree with you. Bitcoin is the trusted and more profitable crypto currency in the. If you buy bitcoin and hold it for your hope then i think you will got more profit. Most of people are using /involved in bitcoin. That's why i think bitcoin is the future.

675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency in five years! on: July 30, 2018, 01:26:43 PM
Yeah it does have power to transform the world with its blocks but Draper forgetting one thing that government itself is against the whole idea of the bitcoin and crypto currency. They might be interested in the blockchain technology and I agree on that completely but I don't think that they will be interested in the crytpo currency at all. That would be the point where we will loose the hope of transformation if government keeps saying no to all.

The web concept is different thing. It was first hub which got accepted by everyone and it was completely white one so nobody really had problems. But in the crypto industry propel are jealous about how poor people are getting rich and how we don't need to struggle much here. So I'm pretty sure that there will be lots of obstruction in the whole idea. But fingers crossed for drapers assumption.
Bitcoin in five years really do have a transformation of developement and improvement on how it works and helps many more people for their living. Bitcoin in five years will be more famous and useful for everybody. If every people really do their best and if they are hardworking then they might get rich for the coming five years.
I think in the next five year there would be a big transformation of development and improvement of cryptocurrency. I also think that bitcoin would become more famous in the next five years. I hope it would happen because it will help many people to have income and to gain more money. Lastly, I think in the next five years I could become rich by using cryptocurrency.
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your investment strategy? on: July 30, 2018, 12:47:46 PM
Hello all.

The current situation of the market is not so good. I believe that some of you are panic, some are giving up, some holding to die.  Cry

Could you please share with us your current investment strategy so that everybody can learn from your good practices and overcome this tough time?

Do not give up if the market is down and do try to sell your holding when the is down and just hold it and wait for the right time to sell it. Do no do panic selling when the market is down and just hold it and if you have enough money is your to buy a lot of token and then hold it. You should do buy low and sell high.
677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is Bitcoin? ✅ on: July 29, 2018, 03:24:04 PM
My bitcoin is safe as always in my online wallet, i also think that it maybe stolen or hacked sometimes that is why i don't put it in just one account, i cashout some of my bitcoin and the other i put in my alternative bitcoin wallet also and i install antivirus and spyware to my pc for the best extra precautions.
You can keep your bitcoin on online wallet and on offline wallet. But, you must keep your private to a safe place so that no one stealth or hack your wallet. Your bitcoin is safe as long you keep it in a safe place. Furthermore, you can make your wallet more secure by just installing antivirus and spyware so that you can assure your wallet is totally safe.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if someone forgot the key to their bitcoin wallet ? on: July 29, 2018, 02:49:08 PM
What are the measures to keep your private key safe and in memory ?
Print your private keys to any form of paper that you can keep for safety. Don't trust your memory even you are the champion in memory verse challenges, it isn't enough to keep your funds.

You can also create a file on a notepad and save it to a flash drive and don't use that drive to any computer that you don't own. Don't use it to public places.

Are there any alternatives to retrieve the key back ?
If you lost it, that's lost forever.
If you lost your private key and password it would gone forever. However, there are some alternative way to retrieve your wallet like putting your email so that once your forgot your password you have chance to change password it. Lastly, you can print your private key and then keep it in a safe place or create a note where you can put private key.
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin become an asset on: July 29, 2018, 02:19:06 PM
I still think bitcoin is an asset, and it's hard to call it currency.
Because currency is going to be widely used, and bitcoin is hard to use on a large scale right now, I expect the lightning network to change everything.
Actually, you can use bitcoin as an asset and currency. Aside using bitcoin as an asset and currency you can also use it as an investment which will help you to gain and make income. Furthermore, some people prefer to use as an  asset simply because they earn income from it but I think bitcoin is more capable to use as currency.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too late to invest in bitcoin? Is it a bubble? on: July 29, 2018, 01:48:55 PM
No. It is not too late because there are many people who uses bitcoin who wanted also to invest but they have a question in their mind if it's too late. It's not yet too late because as long as bitcoin never stops, investment will never stop also. As long as there are users, there is bitcoin and if there's bitcoin, there will be an investment.
As of now you can still invest in bitcoin and I suggest you should invest now where the price is on the downtrend. Its never too late to buy bitcoin and anytime you can buy bitcoin. You can buy on the dip and then sell it when the price goes high. Just invest in bitcoin and do not waste your time on nothing.
