The only reason I could see for Bitcointalk to create an NFT collection is to fund a certain movement/charity. Yea I'm pretty sure most people here aren't fans of NFTs, but if the goal was to raise funds for a good cause, it can get the job done.
I disagree. NFTs or any tokens for that matter are the worst way of fund raising too. They are just convenient for scammers to raise money not for anyone with an honest and legitimate reason. For example if the plan is to raise money for a charity, as your example, a simple bitcoin donation address is more than enough to do the job. That's not true at all... There's a reason that NFTs are being used for things like charities. A Bitcoin donation is good one time. An NFT collection makes money for their charity each time an NFT changes hands, and they can offer rewards to NFT holders to grow their value, thus bringing in even more money each time one trades hands. If done right, an NFT collection can raise a ton of money for charities or whatever for years to come. Think about all those massive Bored Ape sales you're reading about in the news. The Bored Apes are getting a % cut on every one of them, raising FAR MORE money then they did with their initial sale, or could have by putting up a Bitcoin donation address... |

I have noticed a thread created by someone who was asking for a Bitcointalk DAO. I reckon why not an official Bitcointalk NFT collection series that we can use as our avatars? This forum has historical value because this is where Satoshi and other developers that became famous founders began their first projects. If this person can create his own NFT collection series, I am quite certain the Bitcointalk community can also create its own collection series hehehe. https://opensea.io/collection/ghozali-everydayI guess my question would be what would the NFT collection do with the raised funds? I had considered launching a community NFT project in the same spirit of a DAO that used the funds to purchase items from the collectibles section to support our makers here, or maybe provide them with loans for new projects. I don't think anyone is a fan of the way the forum has spent funds to date, so perhaps figuring out what to do with funds is a better idea then how to raise more. Lots of $$$ is being left on the table already via not claiming airdrops or participating in lending programs on exchanges, etc. The treasury funds alone could be bringing in more than $2K per day in revenue without any effort whatsoever. The Lakers losing to the Kings is shameful... I'm on board with Frank Vogel (one of my favorite coaches) being fired at the all star break. It's clear his system is not working and he's horrible at managing his talent. Another great outing by Dwight Howard in extremely limited minutes... He made all 3 of his shots, was sent to the line 4 times, and grabbed 7 rebounds in under 15 minutes along with having a +/- of +9 in the loss. It's crazy he's not getting ~30 minutes a night the way he's been playing. Vogel has got to go. The talent is there. If they aren't going to trade Westbrook and AD immediately, they need to dump Vogel.

At this point we've probably all been infected with it... I know I've been confirmed as having been exposed and received notifications 3 times. I never bothered to get tested because I just got a good night's sleep and went about my life, but for a large % of human beings this would be the covid experience. Children likely wouldn't even need the good night's sleep. The fact we're vaccinating kids and getting them on a regular booster schedule for what should be considered harmless to them genuinely makes me sad to the point where I question parents that would do this to their children.
Why does it make you sad? Vaccines are harmless. There are no negatives to taking vaccines. Do you have health insurance? Why? It makes me sad thinking about children being injected with substances for no logical reason. I think they should be educated to the actual dangers and given a choice. I don’t have health insurance. I guess because I am smart enough to budget for my medical expenses myself and I know how much money is wasted for insurance companies to make a profit and employ millions of people with income and I don’t like to throw my money away. Same reason I don’t have a financial advisor. |

Between 2015-2017 ish I worked as a garbage man, hours were great and the salary was decent and for some reason, after I shared this, it's been used as an insult by some people. It is what it is, doesn't bother me.
I don't know why this would be an insult either. My own experiences with petty users here has me picturing most of them as pencil armed weenies who live behind a computer screen in their Grandmother's basement and couldn't lift a trash can to save their pokemon collection. Knowing Hhampuz actually worked a respectable blue collar job that got him out in the fresh air and getting a workout on a daily basis has me respect him more, not less. I can see why this would be considered an insult to some basement dwelling troll who gets out of breath trying to beat off before his grandma returns from the grocery store, but honestly it says more about the OP than Hhampuz. Ben Simmons finally finding a new home in Atlanta with the Hawks? Looks like Him and Tobias Harris will be going to play alongside Trae Young. Not sure who they’re getting back but I’m glad to see this saga finally nearing it’s end. I would’ve rather seen Simmons end up in Sacramento, but maybe he’ll be a nice with next to Trae. It will be good to see him playing again and earning a check regardless.

It isn't very hard to develop a NFT on Solana. What do you mean by NFT system? Do you mean NFT collection? The Nets with another tough loss... They aren't playing too well lately. Sort of disappointing but I'm sure they'll get it together eventually. I think even in the Jarrett Allen and DeAngelo Russell days they played better than this. I think the rule changes and covid rules have something to do with it, but you'd think Durant would be able to carry his team better than this. Maybe they're trying to play it safe and avoid injuries or are waiting until after the all star break to turn it on... We'll see...

Each time there is even a small dip the media finds the "reason" for that. The last example is the shutting down of the internet in Kazahstan  In some isolated cases there is some truth, but in 99%+ these "reasons" are completely irrelevant. The media just need need headlines to grab the attention of the readers. I think the reasons are chartists seeing a double top and a death cross. Hopefully the same futures that kept Bitcoin from bubbling up last year are able to keep it from melting down now. The market has turned much more bearish at least, which is what was needed. Now there is a wall of worry we can climb. That’s the optimistic case anyway. |

That highlight dunk from Klay was something else. I’m not sure anyone expected him to come out like that. He said he was going to come back more athletic than before, but I had serious doubts as to whether that could be true or not. His shooting was a little off, but he looked great out there. I hope he can stay healthy so we don’t have to miss out on more Splash Bros games.

The price dipped it’s toe below $40K to test the waters. It was on decent volume so that’s the closest we’ve seen to capitulation so far on this bear market run. We’re about to see a death cross in the market, with a likely target of $34K should the death cross pattern hold. I think we’re all hoping for a rally here, but it may be wishful thinking. Hopefully today’s Bill Miller statement will get some other big money on board the pump.

I can’t believe the Cavs are waiving Tacko Fall. Besides being a fan favorite, the guy was pretty good. I think he had a chance at being as impactful as Bol Bol and in a few years could’ve been a great asset. It’s not like he’s making a lot of money… Someone should pick him up for a backup center. He could be a Boban type role player on a good team… Klay is about to take the court for the Warriors. |
