6641  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: September 15, 2021, 04:42:58 PM
You can't compare this with Lehman Brothers, different time and country, but they have the option for bailout or to print more money, and I would say that ''...brink of bailout'' is more likely.
This is a big for China, because dominos will start to fall when one of their companies ends up like this, and I suspect this can all be staged so they can introduce their digital yuan in later stages.
I saw that people are starting to organize Evergrande related protests and communist dictator will not be happy with that part.
Real State and housing is one huge bubble ready to pop, but so is everything else today and next few months are going to be very interesting for Bitcoin and everything else.
6642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Lubian mining pool? on: September 15, 2021, 04:17:39 PM
Based on the location of the miners [Iran - most of them] and the timing of the events, I have a strong feeling it has something to do with the new president and government in place [I could be wrong].
I think that Iran recently allowed Bitcoin mining again, and they usually have electricity restrictions with blackouts during summertime so government decision for stopping mining was only temporary.

According to one news article Chinese mining pool Lubian said that they are building largest compliant mining farm in Iran, and they are not the only one from China doing that because of cheap electricity.
Lubian was also having mining farms in China’s Sichuan province, and we all know what happened there with government ban, so they probably had to shut down there.

6643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Algorithm will still be Surviving, Used & Secure in 25 Years time? on: September 15, 2021, 03:49:48 PM
Almost all of those algorithms you mention will die in next few years and you won't have to wait 25 years to see who will survive.
Bunch of centralized coins including ethereum will switch to even more centralized PoS solution that is favoring only rich people who can stake and get most rewards.
Then we are going to have many absurd and funny situations like we saw in example of solana totally stopping their network for hours and then resetting it.

But is the energy is renewable like solar, heat, wind etc. then what does it matter if electricity intensive is wasting energy?

I can get Solar Panels for nothing and get them to use the sun's energy waste as much of it from the sun, as long its not causing harm to the environment they why anyone would object to this?
There is no waste of energy when you are securing one of the biggest value in human history, like in the case of Bitcoin, all energy and money are well spent, especially when you compare it with price of storing and securing gold and other precious metals.

All that renewable green energy talk is is bs created by some big corporations, mainstream media and individuals who are only hungry for control and power.
To create solar panels or lithium batteries you need to dig a lot of toxic materials from ground and pollute all ecosystem while spending a lot of electricity doing that.
Wind turbines are killing all living things including bird in wide radius, and they are not really sustainable in most parts of the world.
If there was a way to use FREE energy (like Tesla suggested), I am sure that big corporation would not allow that to exist because that would not make them any profit.
One thing I learned, If mainstream media are pushing something a lot, you know there is something wrong with that thing, and they are pushing this thing a lot.

6644  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: will electrum wallet be backward compatible in near future ? on: September 15, 2021, 11:57:27 AM
i just wanted to make sure, whether the electrum wallet will be backward compatible in near future ?
Nobody knows what is going to happen with Electrum wallet in future, but that is the beauty of open source projects, anyone can contribute or fork it if they ever stop with development.

e.g. bip39 or some other.
It's no mistake if you choose electrum or Bip39 standard.
Bip39 standard is supported by most wallets included Electrum, and you can always generate seed words totally offline with dices for example.
With Bip39 you are not limited only to Electrum, but you could also import them to most hardware wallets or you can use iancoleman's mnemonic code converter.

or should i store copy of electrum's source code along with my seed phrase, for future use ? you know for worst case scenarios ?
There is no need or benefits for storing electrum source code with your seed words.

so hypothetically, lets say i die in this 15 years timeframe and some family members find the "titanium seed storage", then it should be easier for them to recover the coins too.
Most issues I saw when people are trying to recover wallets with using of non-default derivation paths, so I would make sure to engrave that along with wallet used and seed words.
You need to provide good instructions for your family members and explain them how bitcoin works, better sooner than later.

I used hundreds of wallets in here, you just randomly picked one and I signed. Please don't blame further anything.
I didn't pick one, I posted five addresses you used in forum before 2021, so actually you picked one you wanted.
You don't have to do anything and I really don't care what you do with your accounts, coins and addresses, I just don't like when people lie in public.
6647  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hey bitcoiners if you are interested in the rebrand from Cobo to Keystone... on: September 14, 2021, 02:51:45 PM
With our next gen we will have a cypherpunk version which allows users to burn their own firmware. And this version won't be shipped with a workable firmware so the user has to compile his own firmware and hopefully this will avoid new comers from buying it.
Interesting to see that you are working on next gen Keystone device, I think this is the first time I heard about this, and I would like to see first version coming out.

If one day the worst thing happens to Keystone, we will release this signing key to the community.
Good to hear that, just remember that everything in Bitcointalk forum is saved and archived Wink

I think Cobo won't allow me to share the sales number of Cobo Vault Sad
I am not sure how Cobo decide that date (June 1st 2020).
Is this information going to be available for Keystone wallet? I don't see anyone who can stop you to release this info as you are the new boss.
Both trezor and ledger reportedly sold millions of hardware wallet devices, but I can't find any precise numbers for that.

Although it was an extreme edge case and destructive to the device do you have any plans to change the hardware to avoid the way shown to get around the self destruct?
Good question.
Few months ago I saw how easy is to bypass that Cobo self-destruct mechanism:

6648  Economy / Reputation / Re: WTF Maidak? on: September 14, 2021, 02:35:47 PM
I never wanted to sell my account, this account is related to my real-life identity. The post I've made last march to sell a Twitter account, I haven't used it in a long time, maybe it will be useful to someone.
No disrespect, but I think you are lying about this because original post was in auctions section and it was about your forum account, there was no mention of twitter for weeks.
Later in April you edited your post and added word Twitter and you never posted any link for that twitter account so we can't verify that.

It's very easy to include a private key in an account sale.
This is true, and this is no guarantee that this is the original owner, but fact is that he proved ownership of that address, even if it is dormant now.
I even saw some account sellers who are giving full package with private keys for used addresses and email address with password.
If 0.1 BTC is so much for him now, he could send even smaller amount, let's say 0.01 BTC.
I think he can't use this address for his current altcoin signature campaign.
6649  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: September 14, 2021, 02:14:59 PM
How do you know who is downvoting the posts and that the admin is doing it?
Who else would waste time trying to downvote every single negative post on their reddit account?
They simply don't want those posts to be seen on top so they push them down, and I witness this happening several times but I can't prove anything.
I can only suspect that co-founder clown btchip and ledgersupport_muto are most active in this downvoting and moderating.

This problem has existed for three and a half months and they decided to post an announcement just five days ago [SMH] and on top of that, it took them months to come up with a so-called "sustainable resolution" while we know how much it really takes to fix or prevent the issue in question!
It's because they are amateurs working in some garage or basement from French village and they probably don't have enough workers to process and check everything.
They are still one of the best selling hardware wallets but that won't last very long.

Yeah right! So that's why some of the users have received "multiple" faulty replacement units Roll Eyes
- I wonder what would've happened if they didn't "intensively test" the units that they sent out!
I think that one guy received faulty devices 3 times, and if customers like him are not living in EU they have to pay all additional shipping and custom costs.
Nothing surprised me from ledger anymore, and I am just waiting to see what circus show will come next from them.

Signature verified, and ownership of one address from 2013 proved, but fact still remains that in March you wanted to sell your bitcointalk account, so don't act surprised if someone asks you some questions.

Dear, the negative trust you have seen in my account that's not valid, I repaid all the owed money but I can't force them to remove the trust.
What do you mean they are not valid?
All of those feedbacks are coming from DT members that don't trust you including global mod hilariousandco, and I see that you (or original Maidak) was selling forum account back in March of this year.
Maybe I don't know full history of your negative feedbacks but I have eyes and I can still use them to read very well.

Why not? Gimme some time, I will send you a pm when I will get back home, now I'm out of city.
Don't send me any PM's because I won't reply on them and I know you are a busy man, but you should post proof of ownership in public here for some of this addresses posted before:

I really don't trust anything this members Maidak or legendster say, they both have negative red trust, both of them have or previously had some scam accusations against them, and there was password reset and change in both cases.
Please check Trust summary for both of them before making any conclusions.

Will such an attempt help to bring back money? I don't think.
Can you prove ownership of any address posted in bitcointalk forum before 2021?
6654  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any Bitcoin opensource dex? on: September 14, 2021, 09:47:59 AM
Do you know if it is possible to use it using ledger or trezor?
No, it's not possible to use Atomicdex with hardware wallets, and even if you could do it there is a problem with low low volume and low liquidity.
If you check dexstats.info you will see that total volume for last 24h was only around $51500 or 1.12 BTC, and majority of trades are done just for KMD/TKL trading pair.
That means you can't really use Atomicdex in real life yet, and Bitcoin addresses there are still using only legacy format starting with 1.

The only downside I see in AtomicDEX is that you cannot connect your ledger nano to it.
Main downside is that nobody really uses Atomicdex.
6655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 22.0 Released on: September 14, 2021, 09:27:59 AM
This is very important Bitcoin Core update, adding improved privacy and anonymity with support for I2P as Tor alternative, and finally we have GUI support for hardware wallets!
6656  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any Bitcoin opensource dex? on: September 13, 2021, 06:03:19 PM
Hi , i was wondering if anyone can reccomend an open source bitcoin + altcoin dex wallet app that supports altcoins as well and is open sourrced?
There is Bisq.network decentralized exchange that is fully open source and it supports Bitcoin, fiat and few altcoins for trading.
Atomicdex mentioned before is also alternative dex option but it's still far from perfect, volume is not great, and beware that all other wallets like Exodus are closed source and they are using some centralized partners for coin trading.
Check out bisq trading volume and supported currencies:

Vidim da ljudi sa balkana riskiraju ako trguju tamo!
To je ta, sad vidim da su stavili Bosnu odvojeno od Hercegovine Smiley, a nisam znao da su tu i Hrvatska i Srbija, bolje je koristiti Mandalu sa nekim vpn.
Rizik naravno postoji i u mom testiranju nisam imao problema do sada.

Može link gdje piše za to ograničenje od 2 BTC-a?!
Isto je kao na staroj Binance exchange, na withdraw stranici piše da je limit 2 BTC bez kyc verifikacije, a ima informacija i na njihovoj twitter stranici:

6658  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp.net blocked and remove my account and don't return $ 5000 on: September 13, 2021, 03:31:10 PM
...
  Roll Eyes

That is the main problem with exchanges with mandatory KYC, they can always ask you for one more document or paper proof at any time in future, and they can always justify it by saying they are trying to be proactive towards compliance.
I never used Bitstamp and I never plan to use it, especially when I see them asking so many questions about origin of your coins, or if you ever used mixers or wallets for concealing their origin.
Bitstamp is not US based exchange (I think they are based in Slovenia, Europe) so I don't know why are they complicating things so much.
People should just stop using exchanges like this, and your mistake was holding coins in centralized exchange for years, and not in your own wallet.
I don't know if there is active Bitstamp ANN in forum, but I suggest that you open scam accusation topic for this case.
6659  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTC365.com SCAM me 20Mbtc on: September 13, 2021, 03:00:32 PM
My opinion is that even if they have the right to cancel your account at any time, they should still allow you to withdraw your coins or give you full explanation and not just smiles in support chat.

They did reply in their topic today said something about farming rebates, but I didn't saw any clear explanation, and it looks like they are still investigating this case.

Hi oz.kashi and bitcointalk community,

We would like to address the accusation raised by fellow forum member oz.kashi on the 11th of September 2021. The scam accusation thread can be found here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5359552.0).

Since oz.kashi only provided cropped screenshots, we are forced to infer his account name and follow up with our sportsbook provider. @Oz.kashi, if you could confirm your account name, that would be appreciated. Meanwhile, we invite the forum members to consider the following information:

1) Firstly; some context setting: all betting operators dissuade or unwelcome abnormal or malicious activity to varying levels. This goes beyond protecting profits of the operator but is also necessary to maintain an attractive level of promotions and rebates for normal customers. For example; rebates are designed to be attractive for ordinary customers, and activities that specifically seek to farm rebates harm good customers by forcing operators to rethink or reduce rebates. (This is just an example while we wait for confirmation both regarding account name and the flag)

2) Cross referencing the time of oz.kashi’s case (since we don’t have his username), it is highly likely that he/she/they were flagged by our secondary sportsbook vendor. Our various game vendors are experts in compliance in their own domain, and we generally defer to their flags. Of course, the final decision to execute a flag rests with BTC365, and if we have wrongly frozen your account, we must accept full responsibility.

3) While waiting for username confirmation and further information, we would like to highlight some inconsistencies with your accusation.

3b) On our thread you claim "they win", while on the accusation thread you mention "you won". What exactly happened? Perhaps you can clarify this inconsistency.

3c) In the accusation thread, you also mentioned that you managed a successful withdrawal (that's great!) Without your username, we can only use our best guess, but cross referencing the time and product we inferred, your successful withdrawal is quite abit larger than the 20 mBTC you are accusing us of scamming. That begs the question: if we are indeed out to scam you, why would we let you withdraw in the first place?

To our fellow forum members, please note that the information in (3) is contained within our accuser’s posts alone and is information provided by oz.kashi. I have escalated this case to the brand managers, and we will follow up with your case once we have additional information from you or the book vendor.

Our entire team at BTC365 is committed to providing a safe and fair gaming experience for all our members. Please contact us if you need assistance!
6660  Other / Meta / Re: Did you notice that forum have fewer trolls in 2021? on: September 13, 2021, 02:43:19 PM
I think that word scammer is much more used in forum than a word troll and that means it is a much bigger problem in general.

If we take a look at stats in last few years we can see that usage of that word is also declining compared to year 2020, 2019 and especially 2018.

Year 2018 has 23,431 mentioning of word scammer.
Year 2019 has 16,982 mentioning of word scammer.
Year 2020 has 14,052 mentioning of word scammer.
Year 2021 has   5,384 mentioning so far and we only have 3 months left in this year... does it mean there is a less scam and scammers in forum?
No, it just means that people are using that word less than before, maybe they moved more to social media and telegram, and same thing could be said for trolls... twitter is perfect breeding ground for them.

This is the list of top 50 members who mentioned word scammer in 2021:
