So krogothmanhattan hasn't said anything here.

Speaking from experience, it's probably better to let the trolls punch themselves out with their nonsense as opposed to trying to get the truth across.  If for no other reason than that nobody really cares and trolls have more time to concoct lies than busy people have to refute them.  If he were to respond it would likely just be a back and forth that wastes everyone's time until someone has a stroke.  It's just not worth it.  Kudos to krogo for being able to laugh this one off as opposed to wasting more of everyone's time on some nonsense forum drama that some around here crave so dearly.

He wants to give his NFTs away for free as well, for the record.

He's giving away free NFTs?  Legend.

Does seem like an easy bet to win but I can't imagine the risk/reward would be there to make it worth anyone's time to gamble on it...

A lesson in risk/reward.  Anyone chasing the easy win for a couple free percentage points just lost their bet.  Safe to say nobody thought the Nets would lose this game, but sometimes gambling is about playing the odds and not picking the best team.  This is a good example of that.  Throwing down a tiny bet on the Clippers would have earned a great deal with little risk, while betting a lot of the Nets would have lost you a great deal with a ton of money risked...  Glad I wasn't tempted to chase an easy return on this one.  Some Clippers fans out there are celebrating big tonight...
6683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 01, 2022, 08:43:33 PM
There is a nice game tonight as far as I can see. Brooklyn Nets are going to host LA Clippers in Barclays Center. Nets are having a solid season just as Chicago Bulls in the same conference for example. They have the same amount of wins and losses but Bulls are leading the conference now. And I see that KD and Harden both are able to play. Clippers are in a bad situation as Paul George is still injured. I think that Nets will be able to destroy them.
Obviously, and I don't see a chance the Clippers are winning here. The line is -12 for the Nets, which pretty much tells us that the Clippers will likely lose in this game. As for the ranking, Bulls took the number 1 spot, so the Nets have to start winning games again so they'll be back at the top where they belong.

Does seem like an easy bet to win but I can't imagine the risk/reward would be there to make it worth anyone's time to gamble on it...

The Nets should be getting Kyrie back for road games pretty soon too right?  I don't think anyone is worried about them.  KD can carry that team to the playoffs by himself.  The Lakers on the other hand are a total mess.  They really need to get it together if we're going to see the Lakers vs Nets Finals matchup that everyone wants to see.  Anything less than that would be a bit of a disappointment, even though the Warriors and Bulls are clearly deserving for how they've been playing so far.
6684  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happy New Year on: January 01, 2022, 08:40:05 PM
Happy New Year to all my wonderful forum brothers and sisters.  It has been a hell of a ride, but we're still here.

My wish in 2022 for you all is that you find success and happiness with whatever it is that you're working on.  Whether that be a project, or just yourself personally.  I hope that all your altcoins pump, your NFT collections sell, your DeFi investments crank out income, and your Bitcoin number goes up.  I hope everyone is able to avoid scams, find supportive community members, and live healthy and happy in 2022!

Regardless of our differences we have a pretty cool shared hobby.  Long live crypto!

Updated OP with new gift amounts for USDT escrows.  These additional fees address higher network fees and other complications involved with handling USDT escrows across multiple networks.  Please also specify what network you will be requiring escrow for (TRC20, ERC20, BSC, CSC).  Thank you for your continued support!

"I will also provide USDT escrow services in exchange for a gift of $50 (TRC20) or $100 (ERC20) + 1% of the total.  Additional 1% fee for >$10,000 escrows."

I just read that Chris Bosh is hoping to use this pandemic nonsense to get himself a 10 day contract with the Miami Heat.  He's been itching to get back on the court ever since his health issues caused him an early retirement.  He's said for years that he's still in playing shape and is ready willing and able to do so.  While I'm not sure any team would really want the risk of a player dying on the court, it might be nice to give him a 10 day contract and use the current horrible situation that NBA teams are in to at least bring joy to one man and his fans.  Bosh deserves it and I hope we get to see him take a jumper from the elbow before the season ends.

6687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk once again throwing shade at bitcoin on: December 31, 2021, 08:49:16 PM
Sure, dogecoin is ass, but at least it's useable at scale without some...*bites tongue.  Elon doesn't give a shit what developers or maximalists think...  Bitcoin has lost it's way.  It's obvious to anyone who is impartial.  The hilarious (it's more digestible to laugh then cry) thing is how a decentralized p2p currency became a store of value and those in control can't seem to figure out why there's suddenly a trillion dollar altcoin market...

Elon is right.  About all his criticisms of Bitcoin.  He's also using Bitcoin as intended by it's current developers, as a store of value.  Don't be mad at him.  He's saying and doing exactly what a rational person would say and do when faced with the reality of what Bitcoin is and how it's being marketed to the masses.
6688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT art with burning of originals post sale on: December 31, 2021, 08:36:46 PM
Very cool project.  It does make me a little sad to think the art itself gets burned even though it is a pretty awesome idea.  So much effort must go into creating one of these and I'm sure it's easier to let opensea.io handle the "shipping" then trying to do it yourself.  Wink  Still, the destruction of art like this seems like a crime.  Do you offer any art that doesn't get burned?  Do you commission art projects, with or without the burning?  Regardless, you are talented and this is a great innovative idea.  I wish you all the success in the world.
6689  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I need test audience for a project on: December 31, 2021, 08:31:01 PM
Seems harmless enough.  So long as people aren't downloading anything or giving their personal information I think this might be a nice project to get involved with testing.  You can also get testnet ETH easily enough with the Rinkeby faucet or by asking on Twitter/Reddit/Discord for some.  Good luck with the project and I'm glad to see people willing to help you out with testing here.  Always great to see new projects and active development in the community.  I hope we're able to watch as you grow it beyond the testnet.  Smiley

The news of the day seems to be that Ben Simmons has now officially missed out on over $10,000,000 in salary for his refusal to play on the Sixers.  That's a pretty big bag to leave on the table over some hurt feelings, but I guess I understand where he's coming from.  If you are unhappy in a situation, you have the right to leave.  Granted he's a bit of a bitch for doing so and not living up to his responsibilities and commitments, but you can't force a bitch to stay with you...  I imagine at some point in the near future the offers for Ben are going to start getting worse, not better.  I still think he should go to the Kings, but they don't have much to offer.  I think the Lakers might be dangling Russ out there, but who knows.
6691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 30, 2021, 07:09:52 PM
I really feel bad for Russ and AD.  Neither of them have the mental toughness to make it in LA.  Especially with LeBron getting frustrated every time someone other than him makes a mistake.  If there's any way in the world the Lakers could put together a 3 team trade and send AD to Portland and Russ to Philly for Ben Simmons and Dame Lillard, I think the team would do much better.  Granted Ben Simmons isn't exactly the right mental giant to survive the LA market either, but I think it would be an improvement over his current situation.

I think the Lakers will make the playoffs regardless though.  They'll get it figured out after the all star break.
6692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: December 30, 2021, 07:06:27 PM
[snip]

Wtf is that ? This is the latest post in Logan Pauls Instagram. I hope  the trick was not to create hype around Logan Paul vs Mike fight, replace it with KSI and keep all that traffic generated. Sadly, his followers are cheering for the fight against KSI, they really want to see that. I've scrolled down hundreds of comments, and haven't found any mention of Mike Tyson. Looks like his Instagram fans don't know he was to fight Mike.
Logan Paul is a very good social media personality while KSI is one of the top UK influencers who is also good at boxing. He has fought, Logan Paul, twice and rejected the possibility of a third fight against Paul. I think there's a chance that he has a change of heart or the Instagram final chapter was to create hype for the Logan Paul fight against Mike since they are both (KSI  and Logan Paul) good with social media activities.

Very possible that it just another tool to hype the fight between Paul and Tyson. Both mentioned names are good with social media hypes
they can easily attract viewers and readers. KSI might be getting the attention and Paul is grinding and the promoters are likely putting the attention to KSI and let the fans to call for Mike. Tongue Grin

We just need to wait for more updates regarding to this and let see if there's some information about it.

I'm still with Tyson. The old pal needs to break some ribs hahaha..

I would be disappointed if KSI and Logan fought for a third time.  The first two fights were boring as hell.  Makes no sense to repeat this.  On top of that, with all the partying Logan is doing these days I don't think he could come close to beating KSI.  I think Tyson would destroy him also.  I'd really like to see the Tyson fight though.  He deserves the bag and we all want to see him get in the ring and punish someone.  I think Logan is that guy.  One of those fights I'd pay to watch, the other I wouldn't care about.  I sure hope Logan makes the right choice.  Tyson isn't getting any younger.

I think that the Rockets - Lakers game last night was a really superb one. Honestly, I wasn't expecting Rockets to compete with Lakers this much hard. Lakers still won by 132-123 but thanks to Rockets also, we watched a high-scoring game. Lebron and Westbrook had a really important role in this nice victory here. They both made triple-doubles. Lebron (32 pts, 11 reb, 11 ast) and Westbrook (24 pts, 12 reb, 10 ast) did a great work in the absence of Davis. But Westbrook is a really inconsistent player and he should improve his game definitely.

I'm honestly not sure about the Lakers win.

They should have blew out the Rockets quite easily with a 20+ point margin, but the Rockets were able to hang with them until the very end.

Russ's shot off the backboard basically sums up his entire season - inefficient and sometimes infuriating.

That's one thing I thought about when I first heard about LeBron and Russ pairing up.  LeBron gets noticeably frustrated with teammates who make mistakes, especially during crunch time.  Russ is sort of erratic and has a habit of making mistakes.  The below clip illustrates this perfectly as Russell Westbrook dribbles the ball off his own foot and out of bounds during a simple dribbling up the court play...  You can see LeBron's body language that he is frustrated.  This is not a good environment for Russ...  I think Lillard would have made a much better pairing.

6694  Other / Meta / Re: Is raffling an NFT for free breaking any forum rules in the collectables section on: December 29, 2021, 07:08:38 PM
There are so many NFT giveaways these days on Twitter and Instagram.  I read an article recently that someone made $500,000 last year just claiming free NFT offerings and airdrops.  Odd that we wouldn't want to bring this sort of revenue here to benefit the forum's users and vendors.

Maybe it is time to add NFT and/or giveaway child boards to the altcoins sections?  I have friends I've been trying to get to buy Bitcoin for 10 years now that had no interest but are excited about NFTs.  It's the first crypto offering that I've seen any "normies" care about at all.  A shame that it can't even be discussed properly here.  I get that this is a Bitcoin forum, but maybe supporting the overall innovation of the crypto industry might not be a bad thing?  At some point I assume the Lightning network will be developed and have a robust NFT market.  I guess we are to wait until then before discussing this innovation and hope that we are able to catch up?
6695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When and how did you discover Bitcoin? on: December 29, 2021, 06:51:22 PM
One thing that kind of drives me crazy is I don't remember exactly when or how I discovered bitcoin.  I know that it was either late 2013 or early 2014, but I can't specifically remember when or how.  I have a few email records from late 2014 which prove that I knew of bitcoin from back then, but they do not provide any clues as to how I discovered it.

So how about you, when and how did you discover bitcoin? What were your initial thoughts?  Did you think negatively of it at first discovery and change your mind, or did you always think it was a great idea?

I remember it like it was yesterday.  I was sitting at work doing research for a book I was writing that at the time I was calling The Race To Debase, about how countries were going to eventually resort to devaluing their currencies at ever increasing rates in an effort to make their debt manageable.  While doing so I discovered an article talking about a new currency that was being used in a new kind of black market.  At the time I thought getting Bitcoin was as close as you could get to investing in the Black Market and when I ran the market cap numbers it seemed to be an intriguing opportunity.  That led me to begin walking down the rabbit hole as I did my DD.  The more I learned, the more I thought that a p2p currency with a built in solution for fighting endless currency depreciation was the answer I had been searching for to combat the world's biggest issue, financial oppression of those in poverty.  This led me to divert my effort from wanting to inform people about currency manipulation to taking action.  Within 2 years I had resigned from my job to begin working full time on cryptocurrency, starting various online shops/organizations, doing interviews with media outlets (including Forbes) and offering services to the crypto community.  Even though I had a lot going on in my life during that period (6/2011-4/2013), the support, talent, and positivity in this community at the time was so overwhelmingly positive, knowledgeable, and supportive, it was crystal clear that Bitcoin would be extremely successful (not so clear now as toxic maximalists ride the wave and lash out at the innovators who created it for them).

6696  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - 2 Million+ in Xmas Giveaways | Watford & UFC Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: December 29, 2021, 06:13:56 PM

The wager requirements are standard for the last few months, it was $2k per week but now the overall wager has to be over $3k in the last 7 days. The active chatting session and betting at the same time increase the chances of getting rain. Being eligible doesn't mean users will get rain due to increased traffic, more online users, lots of bots, etc.

I don't really understand the requirements for sure this week I collect one ticket means my wager is around $ 1000 or in this month my total wager is $15k
I don't know which one is eligible , today i got a big rain $100 in one rain https://imgur.com/cF7poWc  I know it's just luck it's even the biggest rain I've ever seen. Obitrice is the username that spreads the rain same user when I got $44 yesterday.

Wow, that's awesome for you.  Congratulations.  I didn't even know that getting rained on was a thing.  Stake has so many giveaways nowadays and I see so many different small deposits from one giveaway or another.  I've never seen rain drop into my account though.  I guess I need to keep my eyes open a bit more and perhaps look around the site a while and discover all the ways that someone can get free money from Stake.  I'm sure there are more programs like rain that I'm not aware of but should be.  Smiley
6697  Other / Meta / Re: No begging - did I catch on rule #7 on: December 27, 2021, 08:51:04 PM
Man, this is a bit of a shock to me.  I can recall when minerjones had a family member with a house fire and everyone lined up to donate funds to his family.  There were even several threads made about it like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1565089.0

(Out of curiosity, how do people feel about their BTC donations now?  Curious if people ever ask about the ROI the way they do for donations made to NastyFans or what people think about minerjones deleting his posts on these threads as if his requests for charity never happened.)

I always find it odd how the community rallies around one person to give them funds, but then demonizes another for the same thing while trashing donations made to community organizations.  Sadly, I think it mostly depends on whether or not your trust list contains the right manipulators.
6698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest Gambling Win in 2021 on: December 27, 2021, 08:38:01 PM
Since, it's time to say goodbye to the year 2021, we may have good and bad memories with regard to gambling. Some may have lost a lot of money and others may have become millionaires in this year.
It will be good if we can share our highest win which we achieved in this year through gambling and also which gambling platform was lucky for you.

The only gambling platforms I used in 2021 were Stake.com, DraftKings, & the New York Stock Exchange.  Stake.com being the only platform that provided me any profits and did so with the most flare and fun involved.  I am a pretty low stakes gambler and I think the biggest win I had all year was probably less than $200, but I think my largest bet placed was probably only $25, so for me it wasn't about the money at all, but the fun.  I had fun, so I consider that the biggest win of the year for myself personally.  My most profitable win though...  Holding Bitcoin.
6699  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: December 27, 2021, 08:35:16 PM
Some of you guys must have watched high stake slot players in their pajamas rolling thousands of dollars in single spin, buying hundred of thousands worth of bonus spins. If you notice closely yo will found the same pattern all over again and again. They start with loosing most of their bank roll (almost 80-90%), and then going all in at last and guess what, bingo!!! they hit hundreds of thousands of dollars. Very few of them write in their stream discerption about rolling with fake money (or money of which they can only cash out like 1%). Almost all of them scream loudly and show us that they are winning it in real, some are very good at faking it, which attracts lots of new gamblers (with false expectations) and they end up loosing it all which ultimately leads to social disharmony.
The argument they provide is as follow, ''we are entertainers/performers''. This need to be stopped. I am creating this thread to discuss such issues and to warn other new comers about the potential loss. If you have found such streamers please post here so that it can be helpful for new players to make realistic decisions.

You don't seem to understand what is actually immoral about this type of behavior.  It sounds like you're suggesting that these are faked streams from users who have some sort of nefarious intent to trick users.  That isn't really what's happening at all.  The immoral part of these types of streams is that the streamer isn't using their own money.  They are given money in their account for free to gamble with.  Viewers think the streamer would risk their own money, when in reality they never would.  The wins you see are real though.  The only thing that is fake is that they have nothing on the line if they lose.
6700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 27, 2021, 02:22:08 AM
As everyone looked Lakers as a bad team against the Brooklyn Nets, let's also not forget how they outscored the Nets in the 4th quarter. They did great actions to lessen the opponent's lead and if I'm not mistaken, they have brought it down to only 3 coming from a big lead that Nets were able to maintain throughout the game. When we say Nets, it's hard to bounce back when they are in a big-digit lead.

Unfortunately, it was only Lebron who showed competitiveness and can handle the pressure on that kind of close game situation. If only most of his teammates are having the same actions, Lebron will have good support.

Yeah, the Lakers played great in the 4th quarter, and they even tied the score 45 seconds before the end of the match. By the way, it was only thanks to Lebron, Monk, and Melo. These guys really tried to win this game, considering that they scored almost all points in this quarter while their teammates did absolutely nothing.

I thought we were going to see a Christmas miracle.  A shame that Westbrook went for a dunk and missed with less than a minute left and they were down by 3.  LeBron was wide open in the corner and was on fire.  Had he made that pass and LeBron hit the wide open 3, they would have had a very good chance at sending it into overtime or possibly going for the win.  You could see the look of disappointment on LeBron's face when he saw Russell Westbrook drive to the whole as stood there wide open with his hands in the air.  That is the sort of thing that made Durant want to join the Warriors...
