That's right, I want to buy your signature space.
Price depends on amount of posts and activity in the community on a daily basis. A minimum of 200 posts required and you must be currently active to a degree (meaning you post at least once or twice a day).
WTF is this??

Hey heres another technicality. Hear me out.
The title is that hes giving 100% ROI AWAY to ANYONE who thinks pirate is a fraud.
So, first we have AWAY.
Meaning, to be separate or not with Matthew. So, by sending money to his OWN address, the bitcoins are still with him, and not AWAY.
Secondly, we have ANYONE. Meaning, any person including people who aren't matthew.
So by sending money to himself, he breaks these technicalities. So hes scamming himself. Matthew, I'd like to hear your opinion on this.
+1 before you act ask always a lawyer...

I'm not willing to share my PMs with Matthew, but I'll confirm that as late as last week he fully expected pirate to pay (I don't know why and didn't ask). This fits with his original post about the community being too quick to label people as scammers (which is what started the bet).
I'm sure he did, but the fact that he wasn't able to follow through on his side of the bet proves that it was just a simple theft. Think of it this way please: IF PIRATE HAD PAID, THEN MNW WOULD HAVE STOLEN NEARLY A MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE COMMUNITY. When you see it that way, you'll realize just how bad his scam really was. He was gambling his entire reputation on the chance of getting a quick million, and he lost. so true!

There is no doubt you would be paid by many, if not everyone, in the event that things had gone the other way.
This is what I find most disturbing. Had it gone the other way, my concern is Matthew may have been happy to condemn those that didn't pay up. I'm not saying he would have but it would take an honourable person to not accept all that Bitcoin. +1

He'll be in London Sep. 15-16. It's only a 2hours flight that costs €100 round-trip from most of Europe. I wouldn't be so sure about that lol
this is what I don't understand. Not sure how he's going to show up there without being a total outcast. Should be interesting. Will At the current rate we will have about 5-6 other "hacks", scams or "investment opportunities" going tits up before the conference starts next week. So everyone will have forgotten about Matthew by then. +1

There's an amazing amount of butthurt in this thread over a guy who did what he said he'd do according to the letter of his posts. And now you guys are starting a witch hunt over him when he's not stolen anything from anyone unlike the several exchange "hacks" and investment scams?
Hell yeah, if governments ran on Bitcoin, MNW would definitely be in power because you guys are suckers.
if pirateat40 did the full payment back I guarantee you MNW catch what he can.

One important point to consider is what happened at the moment when MNW started to take new bets over the initial 10kBTC. If I remember correctly that happened AFTER pirate first quite clearly announced he is having trouble paying.
I believe MNW was running an honest bet for 10kBTC until that moment and when it become clear that he cannot win the bet fair and square, he went insane and thought about this silly scam and started taking bets in excess of the 10k as a joke to himself knowing he would not be honouring the bet.
The important thing to consider is that I believe if pirate would not have announced his troubles and if pirate would have paid out, the bet would have remained capped to the original 10kBTC and MNW would have got 10k of real BTCs and he would had been harrassing everyone entered the bet to pay up real BTCs to MNW.
The real nature of the bet was really either 10kBTC for MNW if he wins or nothing to others if they win.
exactly, this means he has to pay 10k BTC. we have one debitor more in the line.

Possible that Deepbit is redirecting some of its hashrate and the pool op is lining his pockets with unreported blocks? kinda explains why they've had bad luck recently
my thoughts too!

You know, I gotta say, I really tried to read the OP as if it were someone trying to weasel their way out with a technicality. And it doesn't come across that way at all. Sorry, gonna have to say that Matt owes those BTC addresses some BTC.
Topic is "I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud". It is cheating at least!

You mean "a big player" changed IPs. There is no new big player, and no sign of asics yet: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/You are correct that the blockchain is critically important to bitcoin, but who actually mines those blocks, or for that matter, with what kind of hardware, is utterly unimportant to the networks health. All that matter is whats inside the block. yes you are right: ""'a big player' changed IPs". we figured it out due argumentation. this is how mind behind open source works. have to do now other things.
