681  Economy / Economics / Re: The prevailing market condition a blessing? on: March 25, 2019, 02:23:31 PM
I would say no.
Currently the adoption is pretty bad. Even if people have a chance to buy something for BTC they still don't do it. All recent legal improvemend are coming with time, it doesn't have anything significant in common with market.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Karpeles Acquited - wtf? on: March 25, 2019, 01:44:14 PM
I'm sure he does and I'm sure he threw around some bribe money to get off on his charges.   Crypto is awesome but it is a criminal's playground.  This guy saw an easy exit scam opportunity and took it.
I'm just curious. What makes you think that he bribed someone? The only thing that you are not agree with the court doesn't mean that he bribed someone. And no one told (and proved) that he stole that money.
If some money were lost in his company then it doesn't mean that he is guilty by default.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An AUDIOBOOK of the Bitcoin Whitepaper narrated by the who's who of the industry on: March 25, 2019, 01:32:39 PM
From the title of the thread I thought that you are going to make an audio version of the original bitcoin whitepaper. And that could be quite good because most of the users in this forum have no idea about what Satoshi has done and what he wanted to do.
But what you are going to do something different and I'm sure that you won't even contact 13 of the most powerful crypto influencers. Anyway, the Idea seems bad.

Yes, Contacting and having thirteen of the most important figures in the crypto sphere collaborate is a major ask!  But something tells me they'd be happy to do it.

btw issuing your own stuff only as an audiobook seems bad, if you succeed then make a printed version.
Anyway, you better just read the original bitcoin whitepaper on a microphone. That would be easier and useful at the same time.

685  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to delete files? on: March 25, 2019, 12:18:42 PM
In this case if you stored your private key on your hard drive it will be possible to restore it if you did not deleted it properly.
Unless you use whole disk encryption, which is supported out of the box by all major modern operating systems without the need for third-party utilities or funky bootloaders. There's no excuse for leaving data unencrypted in this day and age.

Hmm, seems nice.
As I understand it might encrypt not only the entire disc but also some separate files.

Quote
Immediate data destruction, such as simply destroying the cryptographic keys (crypto-shredding), renders the contained data useless. However, if security towards future attacks is a concern, purging or physical destruction is advised.
So in this case is there any chance to restore deleted encrypted files?
And what should I do with files that already were deleted?

P.S. I also need the same kind of app for my android and will appreciate your advice.
686  Economy / Economics / Re: KakaoTalk to integrate a cryptocurrency wallet on app on: March 25, 2019, 12:10:11 PM
It is still unclear how everything gonna work. Large companies are less likely to issue a cryptocurrency with a free price.
The other thing is that they may use their own blockchain without a chance to use their currency outside their messenger. Then it will cause no influence on the rest of crypto cimmunity.
687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do if the Bitcoin Sending Fee will be super high or super low? on: March 25, 2019, 12:06:29 PM
The links posted above given two very different fees for different situations.

https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ gives the minimum fee to try to confirm in the next block with a >90% chance. In real terms, this means your transaction is likely to confirm within 10 minutes (on average). If you need a transaction to confirm this quickly, then choose that fee. At time of posting, that fee is 18 sats/byte.

https://coinb.in/#fees gives a fee for your transaction to be included "within the next few blocks". This can sometimes mean waiting a couple of hours or more, but works out much cheaper. At time of posting, their recommended fee is 2 sats/byte, or only 10% of the previous fee. If you are not in a hurry, you can safely choose this fee and just be patient.

Another useful site is this one https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,8h which will give you a visual representation of how full the mempool is, and may help you to choose a fee somewhere between the two suggested fees given above.
Thanks for sharing. That's pretty useful.
I usually just use the suggested fee of my Electrum wallet but I've noticed that they may automatically offer 1-2sat fee for a transaction and it might be difficult to set a proper fee by yourself and not overpay.
688  Other / Off-topic / How to delete files? on: March 25, 2019, 11:42:38 AM
Hey guys.
Sooner or later we all changing our equipment and sometimes people are selling their used PCs or smartphones. In this case if you stored your private key on your hard drive it will be possible to restore it if you did not deleted it properly.
For PC I use CCleaner to permanently delete my files but the whole cleaning should take a huge amount of time. Anyone knows faster way to delete files?
I am also interested to find similar program to permanently delete files from my android smartphone but still can't find a proper tool. I will appreciate any advice.
689  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are exchanges constantly expose you to the risk of losing your capital. on: March 25, 2019, 11:36:00 AM
get some money from fees then they will definetely get it.

They would get fees even with fixing. All trades in first moment after opening will be done at price set during fixing (like on stock market) not with random price as its now.
Right now, without any artificial barriers they have more volume and they are getting fees out of this volume. Any attempt to stop it should cause a volume decrease.

Also crypto exchanges are working 24/7 so it is a bit different from your example.
I'm talking about coins listing not everyday trading on listed coin.
Projects are paying pretty big money to get their coins listed. Also exchanges ask projects to provide "market making activities" and it seems like they don't really care about the way it will work untill they are getting well paid.
690  Economy / Economics / Re: North Korean dissidents selling Ethereum-based post-liberation visas on: March 25, 2019, 10:58:08 AM
Well, if it is true then we may see how cryptocurrencies are getting their mass adoption:
In media they are becoming related with such shithole countries like Venezuela and North Korea. You guys shouldn't be surprised if you see a new pask of negative stereotypes about cryptocurrencies.
691  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the global currency cannot be 100% internet based and if we will have one on: March 25, 2019, 10:52:53 AM
I personally think that the idea of global currency will benefit citizens, there won't be exchange tax and other things , but at the same time it will kill the competency of the countries that the political leaders think is important , there will be no more best to worst currencies , no exchange rates and nothing.
Will it be beneficial?
Why it should happen like you say? It is not necessary that global currencies will eliminate taxes. Governments still will be able to get taxes from businesses and residents. The only thing that will be changed here is that those taxes will be payed in your new global currency.
692  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are exchanges constantly expose you to the risk of losing your capital. on: March 25, 2019, 10:49:00 AM
So wheel is already invested.
Ah whose wheels... they are investing in everything!

Why exchanges do not apply that? The only explanation is that they are letting their users to buy coins 100x higher for their own profit. Perhaps they are manipulating with order of orders that way that their coins are being sold on the top of that 1 min candle with 10-100x profit. Avoid creating orders in first 5 min of any listing. You will mostly loss majority of them.
Well, you know the main answer. Crypto exchanges are not that regulated as traditional ones so if they have a chance to get some money from fees then they will definetely get it.
Also crypto exchanges are working 24/7 so it is a bit different from your example.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AMA (Ask Me Anything): The current state of Bitcoin in the Philippines 🇵🇭 on: March 25, 2019, 10:15:51 AM
Maybe I've missed something but what's so special about bitcoin in the Philippines that we are not able to find in the rest of the world? And who is an OP?
It seems like there must be something special and unique to make them create an AMA here.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver owning Bitcoin.com on: March 25, 2019, 10:01:44 AM
The domain is not that important than the bitcoin protocol, network and the community.
Everyone would find out the truth not too hard if the .com domain owner did something bad.
If a domain is owned by the person, that support scamcoins like Bitcoin Cash (BCH) then it may be easily used to mislead new and unexperienced users and make them buy a scamcoin that Roger Ver is endorsing. Especially when such people are always screaming that BCH is a real bitcoin. Then a propper domain will make this information see more legitimate.
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What today you can buy for the crypto? on: March 25, 2019, 09:55:09 AM
Just make a crypto card and you will be able to pay with crypto for anything. Anyway, even the most popular services that accept bitcoin usually do it via bitpay so in both cases there will be some 3rd party between you and seller. OP just named some of the most popular companies.
Btw I'm also curious how much money did mentioned companies received via crypto.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem of getting bitcoin in the future on: March 24, 2019, 02:19:14 PM
Whether or not the electronic money through the future is easy is a difficult question. Firstly, in terms of economic integration, this is very difficult now because each country has its own face value and money, it is difficult to synchronize, another difficulty is that the legal is unclear because each country has one private law. Secondly, the political, military, and information technology are uneven, leading to access to electronic money is not virtual reality. So how to solve this problem?

Go spam your local board. Your english is barely understandable.
The funniest thing is that most commentators above are pretending that they found some deep thoughts in those words and decided to discuss this question.
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan completely changes its stance on bitcoin on: March 24, 2019, 09:02:32 AM
JP Morgan still sits by there stand against Bitcoin but not with the technology behind it, well I guess they putting the technology so that their reach can spread from the different part of the world.

Actually this kind is ironic enough to see JP Morgan's attitude towards Bitcoin, they opposed crypto but instead made their own version of coin. Even some people call their coins useless. Well for me i think they are just said the fact.

We can't yet tell whether their coin will be useless or not at this point since it usually takes time for any coin to really show it's value. But i agree with alosafidel58. These people know that blockchain will be the future so they adopt the technology that runs bitcoin. These people know how the money industry works and damn if they don't get themselves into blockchain.
I'm sure that it is gonna be some stablecoin that will allow people to send fast one-way international transactions and those  coins would be backed by the bank. In this case banks would be able to awoid all those swift bullshit.
So if you want to speculate on their coin and get some profit then it will be useless for you.
698  Other / Archival / Re: Found a burn address on: March 23, 2019, 12:25:43 PM
Well, someone have to ask this newb question:
What is so special in this address and how can I figure out that it is a burn address?
What are those burn addresses are used for? And why da fuck you are so proud of owning one of them?
699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix series OA - “What’s ether? Is that some kind of, like, digital currency? on: March 23, 2019, 12:22:55 PM
So if we are talking about serials then I also remember BTC was featured in Mr. Robot when there was a kind of crisis and all shops were accepting cryptocurrencies.
Unfortunately in all movies cryptocurrencies are shown either as a money for criminals or just a geek currency. In both cases there  is no good usage for normal people.

It was also mentioned in another Netflix series, casa del papel.
It was also used by criminal activities.

Just remembered another on, on the series billions. It was used to avoid taxes.

However, even though it's used as a money for criminals it's good to see it on TV shows. Cryptocurrencies need more visibility. Soon we will see people using Bitcoin legally in movies.
Back in 2017 we could see various of reports about crypto market on every TV channel and all over the internet and it was only useful to hype over it and get some money. Even with this crazy visibility crypto could not become somehow more adopted into our lives. It is not about visibility.
