Do you need just the nvidia driver or something else? I get opencl error while trying with a 1070
682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: October 24, 2016, 10:14:30 PM
do i need to install CUDA toolkit to use opencl applications? like claymores miner or zcash one.. ?
ccminer works fine.. but other miners dont, and exit with opencl errors.

OpenCL error: -42 at /build/xpmclient/src/opencl.cpp:153

win7 64, 1070 with 372.54 drivers.

anything else to install??
684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: October 13, 2016, 07:02:18 PM
Msi 1070 are crap.. 2 failed on me out of 5. I sold the other 3.

Recently i got an EVGA 1070 (the one with the white leds) burning the pci riser slot.

I have very bad luck with the 1070s

I never got such a failure rate with older gpus (Sapphires 7950 and Gigabytes 280x, all fine after 2 years, only fan issues)

New 1080ti will have 384-bit bus and ddr5 (not ddr5x!). New eth killer? 40+mhs I think ))

pocket killer, yeah! Cool  ($$/hash) =  Cry

First they rattle, then they stop.

Quote from: ol92
I have made significant profits with :
- mining coins which are not publicly visible on whattomine or others comparometers : especially those which have no pools yet or not been listed on market place yet.
- mining coins which have good chance to see a significant increase in price and waiting the rise to sell

yes, i had my good days too.

but the quote should go to "How will your luck or vision change your income"... itīs not related to the 1070  Grin

this wont change the world of mining.. yet..

5000 usd of 1070s, mined 310 LBC yesterday.. 0.04 BTC...24usd... 210 days ROI only for the cards... Cry Cry Cry

you mean 0.06 btc = 36 usd = 140 days roi...

my bad... they were in fact 210 LBC mined yesterday... excuse the typo.

you should take resale value into account.

Right! Totally agreed. Iīm not complaining, but I expected a "game changer" and itīs only an excellent card.

+3-5% hashrate on my 1070, with the same power limit.
275-285Mh. can anyone tell me how to overclocking to get 320M or so? thanks!
320m requires high power limit => high voltage and high consumpion (190watt). You need a card with good cooling like Palit gamerock or jetstream. And economicaly it is not worth it.
Better to go with 120-130 watt and 280-300 mhs

100% agreed.

those hashrates are for showing off  Cool

and it seems the Palits are triple width cards with huUUuge radiators. Ugly looking, but best efficiency.

Gigabyte G1 and MSi here, 140w/80% (nvidia-smi) and 280-290 mhs

850 watt psu isn't enough for 3 1070. I use evga 700b bronze and 750gq gold for 5 1070. I never live any hardware issue and also I must say that room tempreture is really terrible due to summer.

i'm running six 1070 with a 1000w, so 850 is overkill for 3
lol at Amph !! great!! and i thought i was crazy making a 5x evga 1070 on a 1000w evga g2 psu.

100% agree with you
I have rigs with 4x1070 Gigabyte G1 on 850w PSU (superflower good old one). But they are ok with their 6 pin conectors.

But the MSi 1070 has 8+6 pin, so i left the rig with 3 cards... (the psu is an overkill in power, but ran out of connectors).

btw, i feel nvidia miners lost its momentum... LBC is not what it used to be.. other algos are not optimized for pascal yet... my roi went from 7 months to more than a year... Embarrassed

yes, it is enough. The rig was eating 600w from the wall.

Damn MSI...  out of 5 MSi 1070 Gaming, only 3 left working ok so far  Angry Angry Angry

One worked fine for 2 weeks, but now it can only mine DCR, it fails at other algos (memory errors)

Now another problem. One caught fire yesterday night.. no OC, no overheat.. rig went down overnight, and in the morning one card has that smell.. Cry Cry Cry

Damn MSi and its sucky 1070

When did you buy them, are they with samsung memory?

Mine blow itself up also, was bought some 45 days ago and was with Samsung memory, I ask because i would like to know if MSI fixed desgn/quality problem for it

Those were bought 60 days ago at Newegg. Micron memory.
Plain LBRY mining with no OC, TDP 70%, and weather is still cold here, so no overheat or abnormal use.

The first one died with 4 days of use. It wasnt DOA... it worked fine for some days.
This one was blown yesterday. The smell comes from the VRM area. No visual marks. And i dont plan to open it.  Undecided

I've sold a lot of MSIs 1070 GamingX , with no any issue , are you sure your setup hasn't other problem , week PSU cables , for example...

thanks for your answer, but no. The rig (850w PSU for 3x1070) is fine. It worked fine with other gpus. And the weird 1070, that only mine DCR (memory issues), was tried in many rigs, always doing the same.

My real problem is that i bought the 1070s while on a trip to Miami and now  iīm back at home (Argentina). I think MSi dont have international warranty, and iīll end up sending the gpus back to USA (cost, delays,...) No fun...

i think --diff is only needed if hashrate is not reported ok on pool.
699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can we join two riser cable 16x for having longer cable? on: August 31, 2016, 05:34:57 PM
Please trash those ribbon risers and buy some powered USB risers. They are better in every respect (longer, more reliable, sturdier, easier to use, safer to use, you name it).

Please trash those usb risers if you plan to use the gpu for gaming too.  Cool

Imho, daisy chaining pcie risers is ok, as long as they make good contact between each other.

sp, i respect your work and iīll gladly consider buying it when you optimize the 1070 part.

but, please, dont make your numbers on minerīs profit. Weight your work, not our income.

keep on the good work!
