681  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC For PayPal And OKPay. on: November 14, 2014, 03:06:56 PM
I will buy.
Will offer $540.
Escrow will provide no benefit with such a paypal deal. You either trust me to not charge back or you dont.

Let me know.
Cheers

Correction: Escrow will prevent the recently popular scam whereby the seller insists that you send first, using the excuse that, "It's PayPal, so if I scam you, you can always dispute the charge." However what invariably ends up happening is that once the scammer receives payment, he will off load the funds to a VCC and keep stalling you (ie. "My wallet is still syncing", "I lost internet connection", "I'm in the hospital right now", etc.). By the time you actually get around to initiating a reversal, he has already cashed out and has moved onto his next account.

The end goal here is to not only make sure that you don't get ripped off, but also that the scammer doesn't get a dime.

Yeah, I use Oracle VM Virtualbox - I just wasn't thinking.  Sad

You got hacked through a VM?
683  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BUY / SELL (High Volume / Large Orders only!) PRIVATE + FAST on: November 13, 2014, 05:10:40 PM
User PBX already claimed that FastCoinz is his account a few months ago. Can you edit your LBC profile to reflect that "Alloxio" is indeed your Bitcointalk account?

Done.

Perfect. Thanks for the followup, and good luck with the trading Smiley

685  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB 1.75 BTC on: November 12, 2014, 08:11:57 PM
I'm looking to buy 1.75 BTC with paypal to buy another type of coin. I know that people get scammed with paypal but is there some way that we could use and escrow service to make the deal?

Escrow only works in very situational scam attempts where the seller insists that you send PayPal first. He'll then delay sending you your BTC (he actually has no intention of sending them at all) while he offloads your PayPal payment onto a VCC where he can then cash out. Escrow will not protect the BTC seller against charge backs.
686  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ruggedman_dan dissappeared in middle of transaction on: November 12, 2014, 05:35:27 PM
Odd, I've never had any issues with ruggedman_dan, and I've done a few escrow jobs for him. I did notice that he recently placed an ad wanting to sell 1.5 BTC or around that amount when previously he had been buying BTC. Whether that has anything to do with anything, who knows? He doesn't appear to have logged into his account for a couple days either, so I hope everything is ok.
687  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: 3 BTC wanted on: November 12, 2014, 05:31:39 PM
ok so tell me this why would i not pay you also why would i lie to get what i want like he rest of the world. if you dont trust me fine but dont laugh at me and call me a comedian for trying other wise you come out as an insentsitve fuck

I think a better question to ask yourself is, "why would I pay?" There's absolutely no compelling reason for you to pay off a BTC loan when it's far easier to simply abandon your account and never log in again.
688  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have paypal need BTC on: November 11, 2014, 09:25:52 PM
Hey guys i have $90 PP and NEED BTC! I will send as friends and family and pay 20% rate. (:

Be careful of other brand new users who will take you up on your offer. Often times they'll try to get you to send your PayPal payment first, using the excuse that "If I don't send you Bitcoins, you can just dispute the charge and get your money back." However, after you send payment they'll keep stalling you (I have to sync the blockchain! My internet connection just died! etc) while they withdraw the funds to a VCC and cash out. By the time you get around to filing a dispute, the money is long gone.
689  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a very large business loan with BTC collateral. on: November 11, 2014, 09:11:51 PM
I can verify that JaredR26 is indeed the original account holder, so this isn't a case of a purchased/hacked account coming back online after a considerable period of inactivity. And since he's offering BTC as collateral, I don't see any issue with this one. However, I would advise JaredR26 against entertaining offers from newbie accounts, or at least have a trusted 3rd party hold escrow.

690  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: turtlehurricane - ripped me for $1000 on: November 11, 2014, 07:29:00 AM
And I've removed my negative rating on turtlehurricane since this seems more like a customer service issue than a scam. TH has a consistent history of trades, and segvec has a consistent history of questionable dealings.

Segvec, you can wait for funds to clear. Your HURRY HURRY SEND COINS NAO! doesn't really paint a very legitimate picture for you.
691  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Sell & Buy - Bitcoin on: November 11, 2014, 07:26:52 AM
If you want Bitcoin, buy Bitcoin. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish by buying intermediate money first.
692  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: turtlehurricane - ripped me for $1000 on: November 11, 2014, 07:20:03 AM
Segvec refused to give me receipts showing that these were paid with cash. I would've released Bitcoins if he did so. It smells fraudulent. Not to mention he threatened to reverse the full $50k of business we did multiple times.

Whether he showed you receipts proving he paid you with cash or not sure didn't stop you from redeeming the codes, no?
693  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: SELLING BITCOINS + PAYPAL + NETELLER AND MORE . on: November 10, 2014, 11:09:54 PM
Thanks for the speedy follow-up, guys.
694  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: SELLING BITCOINS + PAYPAL + NETELLER AND MORE . on: November 10, 2014, 10:51:45 PM
Its been over an hour and the guy simply disappeared from skype.

He said he made a mistake and sent me the money back on NETeller.

Please confirm that you received a refund.

696  Economy / Lending / Re: need $1500 for car insurance deductible 12.5% interest on: November 09, 2014, 05:12:39 PM
I wouldn't lend Bitcoin in this case since you need USD. Conversion into fiat (and then back again once you repay) just adds to your overall cost.

That's not me. My sig even indicates that I do not use this name outside this forum (well, that and my Email address, which is in my profile).
