The Number of Crypto Users in Africa Grew By 2,500% in 2021

Despite estimated 45% of adults that owns smart phones and 33% that can access the internet on a stable basis in Africa. Yet, Africa has the highest rate in bitcoin and crypto adoption in general in 2021, even despite 86% in Europe and 81% in US that have access to a stable internet.

The latest data collected by KuCoin reveals that crypto transactions have increased by 1,250-2,670% over the past year in the aforementioned countries. Such growth dynamics are also related to the low values that have been observed during previous periods, as the amount of crypto transactions in Africa constitutes 2.8% of global volumes.

The average number of monthly transactions across African countries has shown a 1,386.7% increase from January 2021 to January 2022. The number of users has also increased significantly, showing a 2,467.2% spike over the same period. The average amount per transaction has, however, decreased, indicating that the adoption of this technology is taking place not only for large transfers, but for small payments as well.

To read in details, especially about the countries the rate of crypto adoption has significantly increased, you can click on the link below. Lagos, Cairo and Cape Town are considered to be the engine of digitalization in Africa.

https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1qxfQwmUo0HIA6MRTS_US0UnvsZmgE5LH/mobilebasic

Although, we can get something out there, that the IP addresses are used for the tracking and most pointing to Lagos. Even as I am not in Lagos, my IP address 99% times or more points to Lagos but this does not change the fact that Nigeria is playing high role in crypto adoption in Africa and in the world.
My broda as the matter be 9ja na one of the highest for cryptocurrency adoption, and this rating na just from the youth effort to adopt cryptocurrency as a better alternative the weak naira, 9ja cryptocurrency adoption is date way back beyond 2021 as you mentioned and if you will recall that there have been various degrees of cryptocurrency transactions that are not even included on this statistics, but in all its good to see the level of cryptocurrency adoption among 9ja youths most especially those that belong to legit hustle e.g influencers, traders, and investors.

Look at what the English teams are doing. Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all in the champions league and at the same time are topping the English premier league. English clubs are showing a lot of promise in the Uefa champions league.

Fun fact: Spain also now has three clubs in the quarter-finals. But no one pays much attention to this, because apart from Real Madrid, the rest of the teams look like outsiders in their pairs. But this is football and knockout matches, so each team has a chance against each and purely statistically in one of the 4 pairs we should see a big surprise.
Well, the English league comprises of many clubs and various teams with each team trying to retain its position in the games and topping the tables, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool these clubs have played very well to be in the various positions in either premier are champion leagues. At this stage of the game, we will see the best of the various clubs trying to take advantage during each game goal is the ultimate.

I no dey like do 9ja politics analysis because our politics na just like every other African politics were don dey since the inception of 9ja and Africa as a whole, we get common features for we politics which are:
1. Seat tite syndrome
2. Politics of Rivalry
3. Politics of Blood shedding/ political thuggery.

One other thing na political party, affiliation better known as (partisan politics)
All this thing done divide our politics for Africa, democracy is not practice in it pour sense for Africa so we no fit talk waiten dey really happen na why people were fit do gragra dey enter power be that.
I get believe say Tinubu go become 9ja President unless God say otherwise and this na my belief base on personal conviction no be any affiliation but make we tell ourselves the truth na waiten we really need? The answer dey your 🙌.
Who order Lekki shooting we don forget END SAR so soon, what about the Twitter ban, even we crypto CBN ban.
9ja needs a futuristic leader. Leader that can set things right when we go get things right 2023 don come and na time to choose another leader which direction we dey go.
6804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: March 21, 2022, 09:07:05 AM
So many factors have affected El Salvador Bitcoin adoption and development which have resulted in the present state of things in El Salvador indeed the rate of adoption may be slow as mentioned just about 14% of businesses operating in El Salvador have used and adopted Bitcoin since it legal adoption by the government, well I don't expect anything out of the box to happen at this time and the 14% is still a good number because Bitcoin is not the primary currency but just a legal alternative.
What is more concerned about is the pace of the development of the Bitcoin city and Bitcoin bond, which have also witnessed some unforeseen set back as mentioned by the El Salvador finance minister on the 18th when the bond was expected to be launched between the 15th- 20th of March 2022 but there have been a delay in that direction the minister mentioned the global business atmosphere not friendly and this because of the Russia 🇷🇺 Ukraine war which has resulted in the delay in the El Salvador Bitcoin bond launch.
Last week, El Salvador Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya - who previously said the bond sale could come between March 15 and March 20 - noted the war between Ukraine and Russia could slow the process. “We have the tools almost finished, but the international context will tell us,” he told a local TV station.

6808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 19, 2022, 07:46:19 PM
-snip
This are the officially he draws for the next rounds, three premier league teams, three Spanish teams, a German team, and lastly Portuguese.
Who qualifies for the next round ? Grin
The draw is looking simple to predict as the match is obviously between the strong and the weak or between the stronger and the strong. But football always has a way to surprise people. Every week has a special surprise to football lovers, every tournament has a shock. For champions league, it seems that Benzema has exhausted all the surprises of champions league against psg.
It can be safe to predict that;
Chelsea - out
Villareal - out
Benfica - out
ATM  - out.
I don't know if I should bet to qualify with the options I predicted above, what is your stake?
Do you think Chelsea and ATM might be stubborn and change the whole thing?

It is ok in my opinion. I'm just not so sure about the Chelsea vs Real Madrid match. I feel like the match can go either way. And that is the most interesting match also.

I think Real Madrid has the advantage if they don't face any injuries. By no means I am saying that Chelsea is a bad team or any less than Real Madrid, but you know, they have the added pressure of thinking about the English Premier League.
Real Madrid have no record of any players injury and if that becomes the final situation they will become a perfect opponent for Liverpool, and the 90 minutes of the play will be an exciting moment for both clubs fans and spectators, I may not be able to have a good prediction of what the outcome of the match will be but am sure either the winning goals will come within the full time of the game and there won't be a penalty shootout.

Well, first I will say welcome to the forum, here if you do things properly you will attract players to your new poker site. It's always a pleasure to see new casinos pumping out but we are more interested in seeing quality development and design that can place your poker site in high demand because of good quality but from what I saw on your site it is far from that. A lot needed to be done and building a site is not an easy job so you will need huge marketing/promotion also consider getting a copper member account it will help your posting ability on this forum.
6810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 19, 2022, 09:36:20 AM
I think have opportunity with Atletico Madrid because Manchester City will priority on primer league behind 1 points left from Liverpool and have busy match trough two weeks later before the quarter final champion league begins.

It will be difficult for Manchester City to make a decision now. Would they consider winning the Premier League more important than the Champions League? If you want to do well in both places, the chances of losing points will increase. Guardiola must be chosen one. Liverpool is 1 point behind in the Premier League. On the other hand, if they lose in the first leg against Atletico Madrid, they will fall behind. The next round will be uncertain.
With Manchester City performance in the premiere leagues it is sure for Manchester City to hold on to the trophy since they have maintained the first position in the premier league table with the highest point even though Liverpool is just a point below Manchester City. Indeed how far man city can go in the championship will depend on the outcome of the next matches as you rightly said Manchester City can hold on to both the premier league and the champion leagues in the 2021/2022 round but it will take extra effort for them to achieve that in this season.
6811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scams now the second largest in the world on: March 19, 2022, 06:31:19 AM
This is the reason why you need to avoid shitcoins and pick only Bitcoin if you want to start to invest on crypto space. After 13 years created, Bitcoin never ever scam anyone until now. If there's an article discuss about Bitcoin scams, pretty sure it's either exchange, investment company, recoverable funds, etc are the scammer, not Bitcoin.
I have not heard of a Bitcoin scam all my days in cryptocurrency, yes there may be scams in Bitcoin services such as exchange scams as you mentioned. But to see a Bitcoin internal scam is impossible because Bitcoin is decentralized and over the years Bitcoin has built a good reputation and proven anti-scam security test. But same can not be said of altcoin since centralization has given room for third-party involvement which give scammers the leverage to manipulate the system and carry out scams most especially hacking into project/exchange hot wallets and making away with huge funds. But am sure cryptocurrency scam is going to reduce to their nearest minimum in the future scammers are become aware that there is never a place to hide in blockchain and every transaction will be traced in the future, so the idea of scammers seeing crypto as a safe haven for their illegal activities is a dumb shit and soon there will be close in on, no place to hide for scammers.
6812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Be Under Pressure To act (Altcoin) on: March 19, 2022, 06:11:17 AM
People are always FOMOing the new token or coin that was pumped so high and then they are getting trapped and cut loss their money. They didn't aware if those tokens or coins can go down anytime. People didn't always under pressure at all but they are too greedy to get the profit from long or short the market. They are joining during the pump with the hope able to make some profit from the market.
It seems like a massive recovery will happen soon with altcoin and bitcoin. People must play smart at this moment to invest in low cap token or coin.
Newbies must be aware if the pump will not be last forever and it will be going down again.
Greed plays a major role in most losses, as you rightly said they jump into a project simply because there is a pump in the market price, their get carried away by their anticipated profits that they forget to do due diligence to see if the coin have a potential to maintain its status or the capacity to move to a higher price and the possibility of dropping below the price. All they do is just jump in at the wrong time and in the end, play the blame game on cryptocurrency volatility. This is why I emphasize the place of pressure in investment wrong calculation equals wrong investment and never get too greedy.

According to binance response to the ban of some accounts on the exchange, their stated clearly that it was just a usual routine global operation on the exchange and those affected are those with cases of money laundering and associated with fraud, no be only 9ja accounts Binance block so I no see EFCC or CBN hand for this one directly but I know say an collaboration within agencies involve. So waiten two of una talk an the correct thing.
Although, I did not know about any citizens of any other countries to be affected, but likely it could be. I have just dig deeper to find out that you are right, with what CZ said, we can say the Nigerian accounts were restricted because of international law enforcement.

A Letter From Our CEO To Nigerians: Our Commitment To User Protection
Boss thank you for that dig up some time e dey lazy me to share those kind news link but I make sure say I read and analyze the news before I put out source information to prompt professor like you into research to dig out evidence and further theories to support the discussion, na as I read the link you share I even know say CZ address 9ja users of the exchange but I been done read their anti money laundering law and cooperation with law enforcements across the globe. E go make sense make person no leave huge amount for centralized exchange. Na Y I dey avoid Binance be that.
6814  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: March 18, 2022, 08:23:51 PM
Do you think the CBN had anything to do with the recent Nigerian and Binance incident? most Nigerians use it for peer-to-peer services and staking coins, I believe the majority of the accounts were p2p defaulters and accounts linked to reported or blacklisted wallet addresses, but Binance did not indicate which government order they were acting on but they did mention government in one of their response I read
If CBN, EFCC or any other Nigerians governmental organization was not mentioned, even if it is not Nigerian governmental organization that was responsible for the freezing of Nigerian exchange account on Binance, that does not mean Nigerian governmental organization like CBN or EFCC can not request from Binance (or any other custododial crypto exchange Nigerians are using) to immediately freeze some Nigerian accounts. Although, Binance did not disclosed the government of the country responsible for it but it is suspicious it would be CBN or EFCC which we know have be tackling crypto illegal activities in Nigeria since CBN ban. I understood you though, you are perfectly correct.
6815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 18, 2022, 07:58:54 PM
I think the next matches will be as follows.

Chelsea - Real Madrid = Real Madrid
Manchester City - Atletico Madrid = Manchester City
Villarreal - Bayern Münih = Bayern Munich
Benfica - Liverpool = Liverpool

It will be a very easy match for Bayern Munich, as well as for Liverpool.

The toughest match will be Chelsea vs Madrid.
Chelsea will win the match and I was super excited to see this the match/game lineups Chelsea vs real Madrid the match may be flexible for Chelsea but there will win the match. Manchester City on the other hand are topping the UEFA Champions table goes a long way to show how the championship trophy will go, the next round is going to be tough since many teams will be knocked out.
6816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Don't Be Under Pressure To act (Altcoin) on: March 18, 2022, 07:03:04 PM
The year 2022 has been one hell of a year where many altcoins have been on the downtrend and recently the entire cryptocurrency market have faced a lot of pressure from the market, But this week have brought with it some form of relief as the market is beginning to pick even in the face of war and cryptocurrency serving as an alternative means of financial transactions where there are traditional restrictions resulting from the war.
Don't Be under pressure
At this point, the altcoin market is beginning to witness huge traffic from new investors and the recent grave is the NFT Metaverse which has brought with it an entirely new experience, we most are careful and not to be under pressure to act either adding to our assets or letting off some from our bags.
6817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now it's meta here and there on: March 18, 2022, 06:51:06 PM
scam has always been there and whenever there is a new hype the scammers will always try to find a way to scam gullible investors, this way I avoid the bounty and altcoin section. Indeed one needs to be careful before choosing a project to invest in and try as much as possible not to get Carried away with the hype, metaverse is a new development and a lot need to be studied about it before investing in it, don't be greedy and don't be lazy to search about a project.
6818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be wiser than the market on: March 18, 2022, 03:04:34 PM
I liken trading to gambling they are both highly risky and if you must make profits in them you need to practice some level of patience and never let greed take over your sense of judgment, I don't see anything wrong in expecting/predicting the direction the market will go but while doing that one need to understand the volatility of the market that is, the market can swing in whichever direction at any time. But if a trader can manage their risk factors properly and learning not to be too greedy that will help earn some profits and minimize losses.
If we talk about risk, it is true that both trading and gambling have the same risk but regarding whether they are the same, of course, it is different,
in trading at least we can do analysis and that is useful but it is different in gambling because it only relies on speculative,
it is very important indeed to manage risk because the crypto market is volatile and difficult to predict at least it can minimize the risk as you say
Thanks for that extra clarification on my classification of trading under gambling because of the risk associated with both, I know gambling is riskier than trading since in gambling the house will always have an advantage over players but in trading, the market is between two individuals but not in all cases anyway. I understand your point clearly.
6819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 18, 2022, 02:56:30 PM
Bayern Munich again drew the easiest draw. Villarreal have been good so far, but it's next to impossible for them to beat Bayern. Liverpool also seems to be one step ahead of Benfica. It's a tough draw for Manchester City but I don't think they will make a mistake. With PSG absent this season, they are the biggest favorites with Bayern for the championship. It's very difficult to choose between Chelsea and Real Madrid. They drew the hardest one. I'm sure we will watch very exciting matches.
Real Madrid vs Chelsea and Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid are two good matches in the quarter-finals. The other 2 matches seem easier as Benfica and Villareal are very underdogs at this stage. I really think Benfica and Villareal are in big trouble when they have to face Bayern Munchen and Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

For Chelsea and Real Madrid I think gamblers will be very risky choosing which team will win, but given the match starts in the first week of April, we can expect some changes. Currently all teams only have to focus on their respective domestic leagues.
Chelsea vs Real Madrid is no go area because predicting the outcome of that match is very difficult for most gamblers, not that the two clubs are hard to analyze, but the difficult thing is that both clubs a strong clubs with good records in their previous outing and this make it hard to predict the outcome of the match. The first week of April is just as days ahead and if nothing changes in the match fixture Chelsea and Real Madrid will meet.
6820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 30,000 Bitcoin Buy-In on coinbase on: March 17, 2022, 09:55:28 PM
I really doubt that 30k would be bought all at once and from just one place to another like that overall. I believe it could be exchange movement to cold storage like everyone suggests. If there is a company buying 30k bitcoins, you wouldn't even hear about it and you can't see it on coinbase like that.

Tesla bought 1.5 billion dollars worth of bitcoin and nobody saw that, why? Because, they use OTC for that and use many many many wallets as well and all of them in cold storage as well in the safest possible place. That is why I honestly believe that people should not consider these big moves as a great deal since they are mostly just exchanges doing cold storage.
Well a lot have not been heard about the movement of the 30k Bitcoin movement on coin base so this made me believe the Bitcoin movement was an exchange movement may between two wallets within the exchange, but another contradictory fact is the mentioning of the transaction being carried out in three trenches which show otherwise.
