6841  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Using two layers of mixers to further obfuscate address history on: August 28, 2021, 08:25:39 PM
As some of you know, it's not recommended to run a Tor connection through another Tor connection (double connections), because weaknesses in the protocol allow attackers to deanonymize your traffic.
Bitcoin obviously works totally different from Tor so we can't compare this two, but mixers are usually centralized and they can store IP addresses and can fingerprint your browser.
Most mistakes are made by people reusing addresses but if we exclude that, and combine Tor, vpn and different browsers with mixers, that would be enough to break any possible connection between addresses.
One thing I am thinking is that new analytics tracking services could potentially spot that you have been using multiple mixers easier, but this is just my speculation.
6842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A quick help please on: August 28, 2021, 08:10:34 PM
Please is there anyone who has ever experienced this before? If yes, how did you go about it?
What is the point of generating OFFLINE paper wallet if you are going to import it next moment to some unknown and probably closed source multi coin hot wallet with who knows what derivation path?
6843  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked account? "Donator" selling account under his/her own name? on: August 28, 2021, 07:47:51 PM
Hypothetically, I can't really see any regular forum members buying it (though people do buy NFTs for stupidly high amounts so maybe it could end up similar).
I learned that anything is possible if people are willing to pay $600k and over $1M for image of rock that has NFT stamp on it  Tongue
Much more time was spent on creating one unique bitcointalk account with all post history so I think that should worth much more, but I don't support selling accounts.
However, I doubt old staff member would ever made such an offer, that is now revoked and no new post is made after that.

I'd argue the opposite: being inactive seems like the perfect moment to try to cash in on an old unused account.
Old staff member not knowing how things are working in bitcointalk forum... I don't think so.
He would sure know to navigate and find marketplace > digital goods > invites & accounts.

Some interesting trust feedback he made today as reply to members who gave him negative feedback:

And let's check his trust list:

Izgleda da Jack Dorsey osnivac Twittera planira otvoriti DEX exchange:

https://twitter.com/jack/status/1431320761474617344

6845  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor wallet set up confusion on: August 28, 2021, 06:44:54 PM
OK. So I see the first instructions: "To allow your Trezor device to communicate smoothly with Trezor Wallet, we strongly recommend installing Trezor Bridge. It is the most optimized solution that is compatible with Chrome and Firefox browsers. When you go to the Trezor Wallet website, you will see a page with a download link."
You don't need to install Bridge software if you are are using Trezor Suite, and it's better if you are using desktop version instead of web version.
Bridge is only used for connecting with other wallets like Exodus or Metamask, and you can also use Electrum with your Trezor just fine (without Bridge).

So which is it? Which route do I take? Can anyone provide a link to a definitive step-by-step guide to setting up a Trezor Model One wallet?
You will see clear instruction when you download and start Trezor Suite, but make sure you download it only from official website.

So why would I trust my coins to something that is “buggy”? But why is it buggy in the first place? How can something like this be allowed to be put into exploitation?
I never had any bugs with Trezor wallet and their explanation for first setup is very simple for anyone who can use their brain.

Would a bridge be put into exploitation if there was something not right with the traffic light system on it? Am I supposed to just close my eyes to this red banner with an exclamation sign?
Like I said before, you don't need to use Bridge software and complicate things.

I see on the Trezor forum that people who post tickets are told it will take TWENTY DAYS (!) to answer.
Bla bla bla... have you actually tried to contact their support or all your post all more theoretical complains?
All hardware wallets have small teams and bad support, so don't expect miracles or just don't use hardware wallets, they are not mandatory for Bitcoin that don't have any support, but we still use it.
There are plenty of other options, airgapped pc, paper wallets, mobile wallets, etc.

6846  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: So, i bought a BTC atm (machine) on: August 27, 2021, 11:04:39 AM
Regarding the machine itself, I was pretty disappointed. The customer support was atrocious, at one point even threatening to stop answering my tickets. No double spend protection when selling bitcoin. It would just spew out the cash before even 1 confirmation has passed. The POS terminal was a joke. It printed out a piece of paper with two QR codes, one labeled bill and one tip.
OMG this is so stupid and I guess that is one of the reasons why this machines had one of the cheapest prices compared to other competition.

I pushed some more and he sent me scans of death certificate and other documents(in Romanian). I'd love if someone that speaks Romanian could translate them and even verify if that's true or not.
I think that bitcointalk staff member and admin Cyrus is Romanian or he speaks that language, GazetaBitcoin is Romanian, and Local Romanian forum is also fairly active so you can ask them for translation.

As to the "open source project", I sent multiple emails to get access, and only silence from the other end.
If they say that project was open source than it should be some github page but I doubt that.
Everything connected with Bitcoin (centralized exchanges, some hardware wallets, etc) is trying to imitate that open-source vibe but they are usually totally centralized and closed source.
Anyway, thank you for telling your story, I really miss genuine people like you in this forum.
6847  Other / Archival / Re: Exposing RainbowKun and His Large Alts Army. Big farm 60+ Accs !!! on: August 27, 2021, 10:45:00 AM
I was very angry, because kxwhalexk wrote a post related to me and it was regarded as my alt, until today I was implicated in it. This is the biggest falsehood.
He was not banned because of you being his alt account, but because he made multiple plagiarism with translation from chinese and presented it as his own words.
6848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins? on: August 27, 2021, 10:39:50 AM
Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins or let's says that Bitcoins are illegal to them?
Because they don't want to lose control over people and over printing money, people learn fast and many would swap all their fiat for Bitcoin to avoid inflation.
Governments and dictators can't control Bitcoin and they probably don't own it so they don't see any financial benefit for themselves, so they made Bitcoin illegal or put it in grey zone.

In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone. Bitcoins did not steal money from the bank so what's the point we say Bitcoin is illegal?
Crazy governments made many things illegal in past, and if you study history you would see that gold was illegal, alcohol is till illegal in some countries, and it was even illegal to walk in the same street with people that have different skin color.
Making Bitcoin illegal would mean nothing because in reality people have all the power and people pay and hire the government to work for them.
If enough people wants Bitcoin and freedom there is nothing on earth that can stop that from happening, but I guess people still want safe and secure slavery.
6849  Other / Archival / Re: Exposing RainbowKun and His Large Alts Army. Big farm 60+ Accs !!! on: August 27, 2021, 09:35:58 AM
I have seen some of your questions about me here, please wait for the reply of my independent article.
I have one question for you:
- Are you sad because your twin friend and biggest fan supporter kxwhalexk is now banned for plagiarism?

Please immediately, immediately, remove my name from your list.
Oh don't worry, we are all on some lists, but you can just continue dancing like a butterfly every day  Cheesy

I'm still not convinced he's part of a large alt gang, but who knows, maybe I'm just getting soft and too hopeful.
Maybe you are just getting old and eyesight is getting weaker Wink
I am not sure for all accused members are being Rainbow alts, but I was mostly suspecting on kxwhalexk.
6850  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: August 27, 2021, 09:25:04 AM

6851  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can my wallet be deleted if I dont meet the terms of service? on: August 27, 2021, 08:43:24 AM
I use Exodus for my wallet, but something Im worried about is the possibility of my account getting banned for being under the required age to use their service. How high is the chance that my investments evaporate because my account gets banned by exodus?
Exodus is non-custodial wallet so there is no account they can ban, but I know they are restricting some built -in services (exchange, staking, earning interest) based on your IP address and location.
They are closed source software so we don't know exactly what is hiding under the hood, that is why I would suggest switching to open source wallets like Electrum  or Wasabi, and even better if you use them as cold wallets.
Anything can happen in future with new bills and regulations so better be ready with several alternatives while you still can.
6852  Economy / Economics / Re: Enjoy communism (II): Venezuela to cut 6 zeros from its currency on: August 26, 2021, 05:58:16 PM
Removing zeroes is a common "solution" for latin america countries
This is the ''solution'' they use in all countries with hyperinflation, and you can find similar example in ex Yugoslavia who in 1992, 1993 and 1994 had paper bills with up to eleven zeros, 10 billion 50 billion and even 500 billion, than they cut zeroes and printed new bills in next few years.
Below is posted one of them that is more famous with face of Nikola Tesla, that can be purchased online even today as collectibles item.
In years after that they printed bunch of paper bills reducing zeros every time, and there was no Bitcoin or other alternative for people at that time.
This was one more example of what communism and socialism results are.

Vice article talking about country with world's poorest billionaires  Cool
6853  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: So, i bought a BTC atm (machine) on: August 26, 2021, 05:25:18 PM
You can pretty much trace all the info in the blog archive. That's as much as I got as well, and I lost 9 fucking BTC because of those incompetent fucks.
That is a story you would need to tell us with more details, and I guess 9 BTC was a much less few years ago but it hurts you more and more as Bitcoin value goes up :/
If that ex-employee who allegedly stole all those Bitcoin got killed later, story gets even more interesting and I also found that BitXatm worked with notorious Canadian exchange Quadriga Fintech Solutions and they used their BTM machines.
Quadriga first used Lamassu ATM machines in 2014 but then in April of 2015 they made a deal with BitXatm, seems like a match made in hell:

6854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forensic recovery. Tell Me How It Is Done And I Could Be Able To Give You $$$$$$ on: August 26, 2021, 02:30:12 PM
Few years ago I was testing one Linux OS with Wubi on Windows so I am familiar with it and it is was a very bad experience.

is it possible to do a forensic recovery and keep all of the recovered file names intact or in other words, original? that way it would be a lot easier to just search for stuff like wallet.dat
I don't think that any forensic recovery tool fill find what you are looking for, but if you have some backup (root.disk) maybe you can try temporary restoring that Ubuntu OS with Wubi and copy-pasting all files you need.
6855  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What the heck is Blockstream doing now? on: August 26, 2021, 02:13:43 PM
Here is Adam Back on twitter again promoting Blockstream Jade hardware wallet purchasing with L-USDt Tether with a 10% discount, and this is not the first time he is doing that... sorry but I don't understand this.
Maybe it's not so strange to see this when we know that Blockstream partnered with Bitfinex few years ago and that is another name for Tether printing machine.
Jade is now out of stock, but they are selling other stuff in their shop so I went to see what payment options they are offering, and here is the list, so anything you buy there have 10% lower price with Tether Liquid:

- credit cards
- bitcoin
- bitcoin LN
- Liquid Bitcoin
- Liquid CAD (I didn't even know that exists...)
- Liquid Tether (10% off) ?!

6856  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Another Battle for Binance on: August 26, 2021, 01:54:54 PM
Binance must be doing something to save their neck.
It's more like they are escaping and saving their necks from falling axe.
UK regulators are now saying that Binance is not even capable of being supervised and they refused to provide basic information about their business.
We know that Bitcoin doesn't have a CEO and a office, but centralized exchanges like Binance are pretending they are like Bitcoin so they don't need to have official address.
I think they especially pissed some people off when they introduced stock token trading, and we all know they are constantly manipulating markets for years.
Here is latest FCA announcement from yesterday saying that Binance Markets Limited complied with all aspects of the requirements, and even CZ tweeted about this:

6857  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Agora: Sell files on the web for Lightning Network payments on: August 26, 2021, 01:42:02 PM
Cool idea of using Lightning Network for payments and downloading files, but I think you need to work more on graphical elements, maybe hire some designers or make some demo version with instructions.
I would also like to have the option to choose if I want to pay directly with Bitcoin or using Lightning Network.
6858  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor shipping oddities on: August 26, 2021, 01:34:17 PM
I am not sure what delivery service they are using but it looks like they are not using DHL express, so your regular post office will probably take care of delivery.
Nothing wrong with that but better option for me would be purchasing Trezor hardware wallet is some authorized reseller from local shop, you can pay with cash without using any of your personal information and you don't have to pay shipping fee or wait for delivery.

There are two Trezor resellers from Germany, Bitcoin Store Esslingen and hardwarewallets24.de, full list and addresses can be found on Trezor website:

6859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin possibly become the Skynet of human civilization? on: August 25, 2021, 06:21:57 PM
Bitcoin would more be like a John and Sarah Connor character that is fighting against SkyNet aka Chinese and all other government parasites that are working with big tech corporations and insane individuals (fake elite).
Elon Musk is working on some robot that should be operational next year, he is messing around with Neuralink nanotech with brain chips, and check out latest videos by Boston Dynamics.
Decentralized networks like Bitcoin is actually a weapon in fight against centralized skynet-like AI control of human kind.
6860  Other / Archival / Re: Exposing RainbowKun and His Large Alts Army. Big farm 60+ Accs !!! on: August 25, 2021, 06:07:19 PM
I was ignoring RainbowK posts for some time just because they are very long and they didn't keep my attention, however I don't see any real connection with other accounts you mentioned.
One more thing going in his favor is that he is not wearing some paid signature and he instead publicly posted links for his Twitter account (active since November 2020) and Telegram account.
He is also active on Medium and you can see what he is writing about, and I don't see any financial or any other benefit for him having over 60 alt accounts like you claim.

Conclusion:
I am not going to investigate this deeply like OP, but posting account screenshots, merits and registration date is not proof that all this accounts are alts operated by Rainbow.
There is a however a chance that few of those accounts are operated by same person, @kxwhalexk for example has very similar style signature with personal links, but that is just my speculation.
