After reading the comments in different topics I see that there really are no other ways of earning ETH, except for mining, buying or faucets. But this is strange for me. For example, why do projects raise such large ETH amounts during the ICOs, but pay for services only with their tokens or, in rare cases, bitcoins? (I mean the bounty campaigns). Or why people invest so much ETH, but there are no services on Bitcoin Talk for which they pay ETH? What's the secret?  There's no secret, maybe because the reason is the community already used to two types of payment, "BTC" and "Tokens". But there's no rule where managers, services can't accept ETH. Most managers from services section are accepting btc since it's easy to convert to real cash same with participants. And most are accepting tokens due to value when it hit the exchange platform. P.S- There are many freelancers here are accepting payment with Eth like in Banner, Signature creation, ANN Thread creation. etc. There were few Ethereum campaign too. It's easy for a token issuer to pay with their own token set aside for the bounty rather than spending their collected Eth. And bitcoin payment attracts more attention in the forum. That's right, because it's project have their own token which is convertible into ETH. They are not directly using ETH because they are promoting their own tokens at all. Therefore they are using their own token to rewards those participants. |

I think altcoins really has future. As what you have said, it proved it for how many years already so I think it is for long term as it goes popular worldwide day by day. I don't see any problem yet about altcoins. Maybe it can be improve more next time. It will be in the process.
Actually, they have future but not all of them. Because so many altcoins invented probably within a month and we really don't know which one would survived in a long run. Some of them will vanished after another coins are created, and it could be happen anytime. |

This all true the idea of bitcoin is very independent there is no chance that government can establish control over it even the ownership of bitcoin cannot be learn by any sector of the government its very private which I think the reason why some countries does not like bitcoin they are afraid of its capabilities which they can never control.
The fact that bitcoin is way beyond government control is something that governments do not know how to deal with, they are used to beat centralized forces themselves but when they face a decentralized force they have shown to be very incompetent and that is good for us since that means they are never going to be able to block bitcoin. Actually, some governments hated this kind of technology because of its anonymity individual. The government don't really make money from any bitcoin holders. Their laws in imposing tax and controlling digital currency would be their big challenge and of course, they can't hardly push to us to pay for this unless it is stated by your total assets. |

I hold both. I think Ethereum will rise in value, as will Bitcoin. I think Bitcoin will remain the more valued asset because of the large attack surface of ethereum and the immutability issues.

Traditional transactions are so many problems that solutions must be found to solve the problem, I think blockchain technology is very good and can be a solution for future transactions.
We are headed towards a new technology. Blockchain technoloy not to be considered as essential needs of the people because of some aspects that could make this into limitations. Anyway, this kind of technology is big help for us and we using this in other areas which is good but it doesn't mean that we shall depend this at all times. |
