6901  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Android.. sending Unpaid on: April 10, 2021, 08:31:32 AM
<...>
Never mind me, and you can correct me, but I think invoice and/or invoice address is not needed for this unless to check if the invoice is time stamped, but irrespective of it being time-stamped or not, it will not affect sending.

Yes.. it's my address I'm trying to send funds from my Electrum wallet to my Atomic Wallet (1M2YPQ4kSBfbDmuSNte88JMpjZXCmGfJep)
Hope your wallet is synchronizing with the blockchain? You will see that in the history at the upper part, clearly in bold.

Make sure your wallet synchronize with the blockchain. Make sure you have enough amount for the payment. These are the two likely reasons the invoice is marked unpaid.

6904  Economy / Economics / Re: The One World Currency: Is it Bitcoin? on: April 10, 2021, 02:37:30 AM
What do you think? Is Bitcoin the "One World Currency"?
Bitcoin is going mainstream, but know that bitcoin is not to exist alone, the value it has is because it is superior to others, so letting others too exist is not bad. Fiat and CBDC will exist, commodities like gold will exist while bitcoin will also still exist.

Or will another currency take its place in the future?
In this case, nobody knows the future.

If that happens, which currency do you think will become the "One World Currency"?
Anything can happen in the future, but it is better to comment about the present.

Will it be the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan?
Do not forget they are all centralized currencies. And, know that fiat will be subjected to devaluation as they are inflationary.

Do you think governments will unanimously agree to use a single currency for everything?
I do not think so. Even if they do not agree, bitcoin that haa such characteristics is already existing. So, we do not need them to as we can use currency that are decentralized already.
6905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the best way/method to learn crypto? on: April 09, 2021, 09:40:52 PM
Just make sure you do not rush, take one step at a time in learning it. I was a novice in 2019, but better now. These are what I did:

Learn about:
  • Bitcoin and crypto wallet
  • ICO and IEO
  • Exchanges
  • Crypto scam
  • Mining

You will need to read crypto news daily.

You can use Coinmarketcap or Coingecko to know about the existing cryptocurrencies. If you see over 7000 cryptocurrencies existing, it will surprise you, and know you can not know everything, but knowing only the good ones.

You need to also learn from this forum, it will really help you.
6906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transactions Fees x Gambling on: April 09, 2021, 08:35:23 PM
But didnt this alts are using eth network and that would also require fees on eth? Sorry as I'm not using litecoins or other alts as I've been buying new coins recently.
Litecoin has its own independent (although copied bitcoin) blockchain, and transaction fee is very low.

I will use even custodial service as an example because they charge high amount of fee, and yet litecoin fee is still low on such platforms. Binance charges 0.001 LTC as fee for litecoin transactions, this will let you assume how much lower it will be on noncustodial wallets. Also you have no problem to withdraw it on the gambling sites that you are using as litecoin fee is low generally.

0.001 LTC multiply by 224 (current price of litecoin) = $0.224.

$0.224 is a very low fee, even on a custodial exchange that have high fee. This will still be much more lower on noncustododial wallets.
6907  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: CPFP on: April 09, 2021, 08:12:18 PM
It will be good to use a wallet that support replace-by-fee, the fee to accelerate transaction will be much lower if replace-by-fee is used. Only what will be required is to pump the fee, rather than making another (child) transaction that will require more fee to be paid.

You mean as a sender and rbf is not possible i can use cpfp also but must include a change utxo?
Yes. But, not necessary mean all the change address UTXO, you can use just some of the bitcoin from the total change address UTXO.

Does this change utxo has to be the initial change address from the parent transaction?
Yes.

If i sent with max amount is a cpfp even possible as sender?
If you send all the amount of bitcoin, that means there will not be change address. In this case, you will not be able to use child-pay-for-parent if you are the sender, because no change address UTXO is available to be used as no change address in the parent transaction. If the receiver is using a wallet that can spend unconfirmed transaction, like electrum, the receiver can use child-pay-for-parent with high fee as explained above and send the coin to another address on his/her wallet. Or, if he wants to send bitcoin to another person, he can use the opportunity to use child-pay-for-parent by sending the unconfirmed transaction, or part of the unconfirmed transaction, both (parent and child transactions) will be confirmed at ones.
6908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transactions Fees x Gambling on: April 09, 2021, 07:29:41 PM
First of all, if you are using a bitcoin wallet, you can still edit the fee. In this case, I will recommend you a wallet like electrum, make sure you enable replace-by-fee. You can use like 11 sat/vbyte and see if the transaction will be long or not. But 10 sat/vbyte will easily get bitcoin transaction confirmed on Sundays. Try to make us of weekends for such low transaction fee, but using like 20 sat/vbyte will still get transactions confirmed during the weekdays, and it is a small feerate that will require lower amount of bitcoin as fee. But using custodial service like exchanges will be very high in fee, which should not be used.

I do not know much about ethereum, maybe there are good wallets that support ethereum that has replace-by-fee, and also considering weekends for lower fee.

You can also make use of other altcoins like litecoin that have low transaction fee generally.
6909  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe history repeat itself? Economic wise. on: April 09, 2021, 05:02:56 PM
no one can escape this chaos.
I think you are wrong by saying no one can escape fiat based inflation. If you know the power in bitcoin holding, you will not say that. Also are some commodities like gold and silver. The price of these commodities and some strong cryptocurrencies can decrease, but over long term period, the price will increase. They are just one of the potential ways to avoid fiat inflation because there is one thing about fiat is that it can also increase and decrease, but over long term period, fiat always would have inflated through government manipulations and depreciate. Also, experienced traders are able to manipulate their ways in a way not to lose nor subjected to fiat inflation and depreciation.
6910  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: CPFP on: April 09, 2021, 04:53:59 PM
oh got it. thanks for your fast answer Smiley
In addition, know that you must include a change address UTXO in the child transaction if you are the sender. If change address UTXO is not included, you will not be able to use CPFP as the second transaction.

The miner fee still comes from part of the bitcoin you are transferring, but you must include change address UTXO (not necessarily all the bitcoin in the UTXO)

If you are the receiver, you can also spend the unconfirmed input on some wallets, like electrum.

The fee that would be paid should be a fee that can get two transactions confirmed at ones when the last fee paid has been added along.

CPFP fee= fee that can get two transactions confirmed minus the last fee paid.
6911  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitcoinSeedSplitter on: April 09, 2021, 11:44:03 AM
Couldn't this work by simply writing x out of y words on ω papers? It could work on a twelve-words mnemonic with two words missing. (e.g 1 piece of paper out of 6)
I do not know if this question is ironically asked, but for it not to confuse newbies, I will add few comments. This is not a perfect method because hackers can brute force some missing parts of a seed phrase.

Multisig is much better option like I wrote in comparison topic Multisig VS Shamir Secret Sharing.
I too will prefer multisig instead, but sharmir secret is standard also if you understand the basis, it is created in a way the shares can reconstruct back the seed phrase. But I get the point, that leaving seed phrase not going encrypted by having multiple private keys, but Shamir seed phrase encryption do work perfectly with SSS. I too will prefer multisig as it fulfills the purpose and not going beyond bitcoin wallet usage, also that multisig wallet is transparent unlike SSS.

But never mind me saying this thread is not about multisig wallets. Although it is a good alternative.
6912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between altcoins and Bitcoin on: April 09, 2021, 10:43:32 AM
While Bitcoin is have name more than ethereum, and what's the difference between altcoins and main coin called Bitcoin, since i been hearing about crypto I don't hear the name ethereum, litecoin, cash coin and ripple the way Bitcoin name is circulating the world, what is secret behind Bitcoin.
Altcoins are alternative cryptocurrencies , there are over 9000 altcoins now, but all of them have total marketcap that is not up to that of bitcoin. Bitcoin dominance is more than 50%, and for long term now. There was a time last year and the beginning of this year when bitcoin dominance was more than 65% if compared to that of altcoins. This is one of the valid reasons and the main valid reason bitcoin is regarded separately alone, while others are called altcoins.
6913  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BitcoinSeedSplitter on: April 09, 2021, 10:10:12 AM
Thanks for sharing. Do you mind sharing how it works? Is it similar with how RAID 5 works?
This is just like Shamir's secret sharing. Just like M-of-N in which M shares out of the N secrets can be used to recovered back the whole seed phrase. But Shamir's secret sharing will convert the seed phrase to alphabets and numbers, but this one on the OP board will convert the seed phrase to words instead of characters.

I have used Shamir's secret sharing before, but never used this one before, I got the idea from the link posted by the OP

Quote
Usage example: You have a 12 words seed which you want to store safely in 5 places with fault tolerancy. 3 of the 5 shares will be enough to rebuild the original seed. (plust the optional password)

Orignal Mnemonic: venture whale soap pave enjoy bid skull journey exotic soon phone proof

Output Shares:

stage middle dune innocent acid chimney clog focus metal nut flat tissue era female advice senior
stage era draw run glue brass cruel token produce sort wide tragic real tray wagon exit
stage slush economy focus oak vote box cruel license belt slow shoot sock session elder panda
stage clump donor major grape glad network quote sort above mad rule left verify such gate
stage proof earth genre music middle river guess topic swim rebel outer adult spend harvest rapid
6914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 32 number and letter private key on: April 09, 2021, 10:00:16 AM
I tried but i have nothing maybe its mining ? i need to put private key it in bitcoin core ? or Electrum ?
Did you mean it does not work while you use bitaddress offline? Because the hexadecimal private key with you will need to be converted to WIF, when wanted to convert it, it does not work? Or you are importing the hexadecimal directly?

If it did not work while converting it to WIF using bitaddress, that means it is not a valid private key.
6915  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dating apps and websites crypto scam on: April 09, 2021, 09:49:41 AM
Never heard that they can exploit money through dating app? I've known tinder as it is a famous social dating app but never imagine that scammer can use that for what? Use a good profile and chat someone whom have crypto and try to scam or trick the one that will swipe and talk you out of a crypto money. This is a shallow type of scamming if ever.
Social media is the target of scammers, but dating sites is never left out, I have heard cases of scammers getting clients from dating sites. Although, the dating sites have ways of knowing someone that want to scam and block some (but not all as some scammers are smarter), but this makes scammers to have many more of the dating sites to look for suitable ones that victims can be. Dating site is one for the potential means scammers do scam. Assuming if you are a man, they will pose as a beautiful young lady. And, if you are a woman, they will pose as a handsome man. Scammers have there tactics to lure their victims, getting anothers means to chat better, make the victim to trust them, and ask money from them later in few days. This is just very real and happening.
6916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 32 number and letter private key on: April 08, 2021, 10:08:43 PM
<...>
According to what OP posted already, he had two different 32 characters that are in hexadecimal. So, if taken together, it will be 64 characters, which could be a hexadecimal private key. I think OP should have tried that out, run bitaddress offline to generate the WIF to know if it will work.
6917  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is it fake sites ? please help.... on: April 08, 2021, 09:58:55 PM
@OP. coinmama is a legit crypto exchange allows people from many countries but never heard of oksdaq even google don't give much results for that name but few of them showing that is from South Korea or atleast the name on it but it seems like a complete scam and you lost that 3000 euros dude.
You are not wrong, Coinmama is a legit site that people can use to buy cryptocurrencies using credit card, but oksdaq.com is a scam site. If OP deposited money on that site, the money is as good as lost. It is very good good to look for legit sites to buy and trade cryptocurrencies, rather than the uncommon ones that can be scam.
6918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 32 number and letter private key on: April 08, 2021, 03:46:50 PM
I have another one with 32 number and letter starting with 02e9

All characters are all 0-9 and A-F
You can see an example of hexadecimal bitcoin private key below, the letters can be in lower case too. But such private keys are not 32 characters, it consists of 64 characters.

Private Key Hexadecimal Format (64 characters [0-9A-F]):
5D417D7FAB15759F1C3671A09C5AE7B132569D08A2647A49F3B4AF6B29226A38

Check very well, if the private key consists of 64 characters like the one above, all you need to do is to use https://www.bitaddress.org wallet details to generate the WIF private key (the keys that start with 5, K or L)
6919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 32 number and letter private key on: April 08, 2021, 01:08:10 PM
How many characters is the private key? I mean the alphabets, numbers or other characters in total?
Does the private key start from 5, K or L?
If not start from 5, K or L, but is it consisting of 64 or 44 characters in total?
Or, does the private key start from 6P?

If you mean the total character to be 32 in total, that is not a bitcoin private key.
6920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two months since Tesla BTC purchase. Corporate buying less than expected? on: April 08, 2021, 09:58:27 AM
After Tesla bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin, the price of bitcoin increased to over $50000 after some days, Microstrategy bought $1 worth of bitcoin at the time with the price slightly above $50000. Although, Microstrategy has been buying bitcoin before, but saying big companies are not buying bitcoin after Tesla bought bitcoin is very wrong.

Grayscale also open investment for investors. That is another big company in the crypto community, Grayscale bitcoin holding has increase to over $38 billion recently.

There are many other institutions that have been investing in bitcoin, it is just a matter of time, more big companies will join and invest once the creteria before investing in bitcoin is fulfilled, this can be more increase in marketcap. Bitcoin is the digital gold, it will not be surprising to see bitcoin marketcap getting to 5 trillion in a decade to come, or before. What is most important is that bitcoin is deflationary, and this makes people becoming to prefer it than other assets also because it has limited supply of 21 million which makes it appreciative in design.
