The small negative is okay .

Miners are finally feeling pain if they are at 8 cents with an s17 doin 50th and burning 2000 watts.

burn cost; 50 x 8 = $4.00 USD

earnings. 50 x 0.081 = $4.05 USD

profit of 5 cents

that = pain.

they can do under clock to 40th and 1400 watts

40 x 0.081 = $3.24 earned

34 x 0.08 = $ 2.72 burned

profit of    52 cents

so for the 8 cent miner a paid off under clock s17 squeeze out 50 cent.

now think about an s19 not paid off the guy switched out in Jan and owes money on that s19

yeah maybe 100th at 3400 watts

so earned 100 x 0.081 $8.10
burned 85 watts x 0.08 = $6.80
profit of $1.70 but he switched in Jan and still owes 5k o the unit 2941 day to pay it off.

If diff does not collapse like 2018 there will be a lot of mines closing soon.

Just stay in the sub 20k better yet sub 19k zone.

I still feel bottom range is 15-17k

my partner buysolar thinks 13k

I have buys set for 16.9k and 15.9k

Also, the casino nature of the "crypto" market, leads to great volitility and the association of Bitcoin as a "tech product" has it firmly in step with the Nasdaq chart at times.

Filed under, “Teach people that Bitcoin is not a stock—Bitcoin is nothing like a stock.”  It is a very large file.

Its no secret that bitcoin has been tracking the stock market latelty and becoming more and more intertwined with political and macroeconomic factors,So it may actually be beneficial to treat it as a "stock" as this will allow for better models and price predictions.

On another note: how long do yall  think we can hold this 20k support, and is there any major support under it incase we break it ?

Miner support at 15-17k ranges
6904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stupid or smartness on: June 17, 2022, 01:30:48 PM
First off this is not a bear market for mining.

3070 130 watts 60 mh = about 96 cents earned pre power.  130 watts is under 4 kwatts say you have 10 cent power.  40 cents.  so 96-40 = 56 cents daily profit.

5 cent power 20 cents so 96-20 = 76 cents daily profit.

so while it is not good profit it is profit thus not bear.

btc

s17 on low is $3.50 earned   and 3.60 burned at ten cents

it is 3.50 - 3.60 is neg ten cents for ten cent power
and 3.50 - 1.80 = + $1.70 for five cent power

so btc mining has just touched bear.

lastly

L7 burns 85 kwatts or 8.50 at 10 cent power
and 4.25 at five cent power

it earns 17 a day so

17-8.50 = 8.50 at ten cent power
17- 4.25 = 12.75 at five cent power

so for 3070 eth mining not bear yet
for s17 a small bear a teddy maybe
for L7 LTC/Doge ot bear yet.

This means all of above should get worse.
 For miners.

AND for traders its bear.

My guess is eth bails into pos and the market tanks bigly. - this has a good chance

of eth bails into pos crashes and burns while pow asics whale - this happen with another coin it think this is what happens.

or ethe bails and whales killing pow coins- not in a million years.

my thought on usa politics are as follows :

the left is the right and the right is the left.

much like wrestling the good guy and the bad guy are one in the same putting on a show to take your money.

I no longer care about politics. As I know both are simply out to take my money.

The fed will raise rates again. In july.

btw btc was created when the 2008 markets crashed as a way to create value.  btc has a real enemy good interest rates are very harmful to btc.

so the next year btc will be down dca and get cheap coins for next rally.

once again usa politics are a show.

think good cop bad cop.

There's enough fundamental and technical reasons why many think $20K was the bottom.

[...]
so I stick with 15-17k as bottom.

ooooh a bottom calling contest!

19k usd. yup. thats it. called it. cuz reasons.

Will it be a big bottom or a little bottom?

won't be a v more like: |__________

6908  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1246 "High performance" does not work on: June 16, 2022, 07:22:04 PM
Hi,

Can anyone please help me with Avalon 1246 85T?

Avalon has 2 operating modes.

Normal mod: works with a power of 71.72 TH / s
and has lower temperatures

High performance: works with a power of 85 TH / s
at maximum power.
Temperatures are higher. Its normal.

I have a problem when I switch to "High performance" so asic achieves a performance of only 71.6 TH / s. That is not enough. Recently, it worked normally and the output was 85 TH / s.
Temperatures are as high as at 85TH / s but give little TH / s. (71,6TH/s)

Where should I look for a problem?
Everything was normal, no conditions changed. Once I switched to normal mode and in a few days "High performance" no longer worked.

set it to performance and software boot it 2 times about 1 minute apart. It should clear the caches that way. let us know if it worked.

talk has started on a July tighter by the fed. As we approach July 15 if we have a high inflation rate the talk will say .75 looks like the goal. maybe .5 or maybe 1.0 If it is July 5 and that
is the talk about the fed btc will drop under 20k.

I reset my coin holdings. I increased all my btc and sold my shit coins. I also have cash and will buy more when we go under 20k. Going under 20k seems pretty certain. Only Putin dying and Russia ending its war with the Ukraine will stop inflation which is very unlikely.

Long time lurker. With the massive downturn in price, I'm looking to move some ASICs and GPUs online. Got an offer in my email from ebay offering 50% off fees for selling GPUs above $500. Does anyone here have experience selling GPUs on ebay who could get some advice? Best practices to protect myself?

List one card at a time.

Try to keep it at under 700 most cards are under that price.

Insure it ask for signature.

Realize you will get returns yeah it sucks but they can simply break the fan blade and get a return.

So offer returns.

Or consider seeing if you can sell to trusted people here.

There is a marketplace.

and there are escrows.

I escrow. Escrow is decent as the buyer gets a day or maybe 2 to test but cant claw back later.
and escrow fees are lower than ebay by far.

what are you selling and what do you think it is worth.

LOL.

So Bitcoin is in step with the Nasdaq index like a couple synchronized swimmers...

yep which is why the expected .75 fed move should level it off for some time.

I was hoping for the fed to do .50 or 1.00

either one would make more fud and spike btc along with the market a bit more.

the .75 will stabilize  the fud until more terrible oil gas and inflation news comes along.

I am thinking this is a lost summer for a rally and sometime in july we drop again once inflation show zero sign of stopping.

If you can buy at dca do so as  long as you can. I am set for 2 or 3  100 usd buys weekly for next 10 weeks.

Plague of locusts probably.

Nothing gets better until we get the current clown-show out.

.75 should slow the bleeding for a while.

seems the last low wasn't low enough for some sellers...

I will pick some up in the morning.

Here is an 'interesting" suggestion re new poll on WO:

How much are you currently losing "on paper" from the ATH in your current bitcoin position (not counting the profit/loss from earlier sells)

1. less than $1K
2. between $1k and $10K
3. between $10K and 100K
3. between $100K and $1 mil
4. between $1mil and $10mil
5. between $10mil and $100mil
6. Above $100mil

Not sure if people would be honest in their answers, but am curious to see the spread anyway.

1, 1btc=1btc

my btc is 1.46 x higher than it was this morning

but it is 6x lower then it was when btc was at 67k

most sales were from 67 k down to 45k.

my gear is 3x what it was since the alltime high.

but even though it is all paid off and generates pretty good money my mining earnings are far lower than last year.

Way off topic my home value went from 400k to 600k in four months.

the wifes safe 401k lost 10% to inflation last year.

switching from btc and other coins to gear mitigates this drop in coin value.

Hang in there btc will rise again.

1% yield is decent it can be worked for profit. Wonder how many new gold scores of that magnitude are out there. Be funny to see four or five spots like that.

Meanwhile back at the ranch....

You guys seen this shit ?

Uganda says exploration results show it has 31 million tonnes of gold ore

https://www.mining.com/web/uganda-says-exploration-results-show-it-has-31-million-tonnes-of-gold-ore/

Big if legit.

Whaddya raccoon (love raccoons) that much yellow rock/metal is worth ?

#NoBestiality

well I mentioned the golden astroid over and over and over. Said if real it could tap gold bigly to under 200 an oz.

31 mill tonnes is a lot less than the asteroid ☄️ amount but it would tank gold if easy to mine.

in theory 152,000 tonnes of pure gold is all the was ever mined.

so if that gold was 10% yield it would be 3.1 million tons of pure gold which is 20 x what has been mined.

So I sold my btc off and bumped my btc up the next day. I have 46% more btc today than sunday.

I have cash ready if we go lower.

I will do a buy when we go under 20k which should be tonight.

After fed does .75 percent jump on weds we will rally

but if fed only does .5 we will crash more.

Mostly issue is we are locked in with stocks at the moment.

Very well done!  I would say "be careful with those sorts of gambits".  But the reason is I am not good at doing exactly what you did. Wink  So I would only really be saying it to me.

Yea, this kind of moves are always very risky.
You can't predict where the turn would be.
In fact, saying that it was 21K does not make it so.
Seems a bit "artificial".
75 points are already 'priced' in. no way they would do only 50 now.
In 6 mo my cash lump would earn 4% more or less...woo hooo.
We shall see what the price would be during and after those 6 mo.
. but you need to understand the old btc had a cost basis close to 50k the new btc now has a cost basis of 21.9. My buy back was funded by sale of hodled btc and mined eth and mined ltc and mined doge.

I created a good cap gains loss. Plus have more btc and less mined shitcoins.

For a fuckup to happen btc would need to moon instantly as I sold the btc. I still would have been able to buy more then the sale of the btc As I was adding the sale of the mined shit coins.

so no shit coins to worry about crashing.
more btc 146% vs 100%
a good loss in cap gains
and cash left over if btc tanks.

lets pretend it was 1 btc at 50k cost basis.
sold for 21.9 k
a cap loss short term of 28.1k

sold 15k in eth ltc doge a loss of 15k

so I now have 43.1k in losses

and 36.9k cash.

buy 1.46 btc at  22k comes to 32.12 k leaves me 4.78k cash

and 1.46 btc vs 1 btc. new btc has a cost basis of 22k not 50k

and I have 43.1k in losses short term that last for a year.

so if btc gets back to 66 k .

I sell a coin and use the entire cap loss thus all taxless 66k cash

and I have .46 btc sitting worth around 30 k.

the spike that could hurt me would be sell at 21.9 and jump to 24 in under 1 minute.

then buy.

I can do this because i hold portions of the mined shit coins in reserve in case this dump shit happens.

6920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good hash rate for mining BTC?? on: June 14, 2022, 11:19:04 PM
Bitcoin blockchain is not like password or characters that someone can brute force using a special equipments and tools, only what can happen is miners with over 50% mining hashrate to take advantage of chain reorganization to make 51% attack possible.

To mine bitcoin, with the present difficulty adjustment, you will need powerful ASIC miners like Antminer S19j Pro, Antminer L7, Antminer Goldshell KD6 to mine bitcoin. You will have to join a mining pool. To summarize this, you will need to make sure mining bitcoin is legal in your country, calculate the electricity cost and also if your area have cold weather.

I hope people like philipma1957 will give you better options to go for about this.

Okay as you requested I will direct a few guess at Ms milf or mrs majestic

Newer machines that hash at a profit are

bitmain s19s they are a bit more reliable then bitmain s17 pros and a bit more efficient you must use 200-245 volts to run them.

avalon 1246 are decent

and whatsminer m30 or m31 gear is good.

all of the above pull a lot of power and are very loud

but they make a profit at 8 cent power.
an s19 burns 3.4 x 24 = 80-85 watts 85 x 8 cents = 6.80 usd burnt in a day and some do 100th which is about  9.1 x 100 = $9.10

profit of 9.10-6.80 = $2.30 a day which if steady means it earns only 840 in a year considering bitmain wants like 5.4k  it is too fucking costly

canaan.io is blowing out  their best gear

https://shop.canaan.io/products/canaan-avalon-miner-a1246-96t

so 96 x 9.1 cents is $8.73 a day burns about 85 kwatts or $6.80 so it nets 8.73-6.80= $1.90 a day and costs 3831

they cost more as shipping and import tax is not included so both would take 7 years to pay at current rates.

a fucking joke.

I found used s17pros with heatsink mods on ebay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403701589089?

these sold out yesterday I would argue if the seller is honest this is the best deal around. But still over priced.

you can clock this to 1100 watts which is about 28 kwatts or $2.24 a day burnt they would earn 40 x 9.1 = 3.64

so 3.61 - 2.24 = 1.37 a day so on 1000 days you make 1370 which is almost break even. still not good. deal but the best I could find in the last two days.

I would not buy an asic that needs 1000 days to break even but it is better than buying an asic that need 2000 days to break even.

I freeze daily numbers to get the days to break even sometimes it stays very flat sometimes it gets better some time it gets worse.

that's why I like ASICs at 300 to 400 days to break even not 1000 to 2000

gear is stupidly over priced for an 8 cent miner

btw it is over price for a 7 cent miner
and it is over priced for a 6 cent miner
if you were a 5 cent miner the sold out s17 pro on ebay would pay off in 700 days

if you were a 2 cent miner (very rare) it would take 459 days to pay off still shitty.

I am a low power cost miner but closer to 5 cents not 2 cents. So I did not get those units.
