6921  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CGMiner crash on: August 03, 2013, 06:55:32 AM
I switched to GUIMiner and I'm getting the error "ValueError: need more than 1 value to unpack"
6922  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CGMiner crash on: August 03, 2013, 04:54:14 AM
Thanks, I'll give it all a shot it's cooled down finally now so I can think straight lol Cheesy

Edit: well it's not crashing now but it's not running like normal either which is strange because I can get it mining fine on litecoin alt. currencies etc.
6923  Bitcoin / Mining support / CGMiner crash on: August 02, 2013, 05:29:37 PM
I'm sure I'm doing something really dumb that I'd normally spot but it's been so hot here I'm too tired to think properly, would appreciate it if someone could take a look at my settings, my miner starts up and then just crashes when I try to connect to the 50BTC pool.

I don't think that it's as simple as more heat=more violence, but climate change and destruction of the environment does lead to violence and death.

Those are some good examples you provided there but the thing is they also prove my counter-point, it's the destruction of an environment that leads to violence and death, that's not necessarily directly because of climate change. You can have man made disasters, if I knew enough about how to affect different climates ( I find the stuff boring to be honest so I don't look into it that much ) I could even use it as a weapon against a country, sure, it might not kill everyone off, but it would certainly soften up their armed forces if they got diseased from drinking water etc. then there's all the kinds of things that happen naturally on our own planet, volcano's, hurricanes, tornado's, earthquakes and the millions of bloody insects and bacteria that are quite happy to kill us.

Also, don't take it personally any of you lot Tongue trolling other cultures is a British persons favourite passtime, we can't help it Cheesy

6926  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rise in violence 'linked to climate change' on: August 02, 2013, 10:18:54 AM
I guess I can see this happening.  I can't say I've ever been put in a great mood being out in the heat, but how anyone can find the energy to rape in 100F weather is beyond me.

LOL!

Since these are U.S scientists ( bearing in mind this is a country with a population who genuinely believed the CERN collider could create a black hole ) I'm going to assume it's a load of bullshit, heat generally does affect mood etc. for people, I know I turn into a right grumpy fucker when it gets hot ( currently 20+ degrees here ) but it doesn't make me want to go around raping and assaulting people and yes. One of the bullshit signals for me was how the hell would people have the energy to do that in this heat?

As for climate change my opinion is this, it is incredibly arrogant for anyone to claim they know anything about the Earth from barely a century's worth of data, the planet is millions of years old as far as we know so it's a bit like with religious people where they claim the earth only existed for a few thousand years because their bible was written that time ago.
6927  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about money? on: August 01, 2013, 08:36:29 PM
I think when it's used correctly it can be a brilliant thing, but that's like with any invention made by human beings.
6928  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Welfare System on: August 01, 2013, 07:10:25 PM
Yea, that's the problem with libertarians.

They can't except any kind of walfare which lies beyond working or begging ... a little share of the wealth of the society should be everyones right, no matter, how usefull he or she is in senses of economy. But libertarias just see "violence" and "force" and so on, they don't see the miserable and factual deeply unfree state of someone having to beg for his own survival living inside an absurd wealth economy. So, this is it. I hate controll and I hate it to go to any institution of the state, but I am not with liberatarian. ++

Sorry, I will maybe tomorrow post a suggestion about bitcoin welfare economy ... maybe Smiley

They see it, they just won't take your money to fix it using threat of force and violence.

That's the thing, I think proper charities etc. are fantastic ( when they aren't corrupt ), but even speaking from a fairly empathetic point of view I still think that saying threatening someone with jail if they don't give their money to someone else is a good thing makes you a self-righteous cunt, particularly when you don't consider that the person being forced into giving money has their own situations to deal with. They might be able to afford something like that for the first year or month but what if their business goes down the drain or they end up with less profits the next year? In the end you're going to be responsible for making them worse off than the person you forced them to help.

It's not generosity if a person is being forced, threatened or pressured into doing something on any side of the situation, in fact, I'd go so far as to say it's a form of blackmail and extortion though it's a very sophisticated form of it, the difference between a criminal and a politician is the politicians believe they are right to do what they do.

6930  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any Legit ways to make money online? on: July 31, 2013, 02:43:01 PM
BUY my book and I'll tell you 10 secret ways of getting rich on the internet! GUARANTEED!

But seriously, learn how to make goods or pick up a service you can give to people that they would want to pay for that's going to be the only real way to make money now, you can't just go to an employer and ask for a job anymore as far as I'm concerned.
6931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Pick your favorite Alt-Coin! on: July 31, 2013, 07:19:24 AM
I'm a complete noob at understanding how these coins work, but apparently the pluses of primecoin is that it's actually computing scientific equations etc. which is definitely useful to society and then there's digital coin which apparently does transactions a lot faster, I'd need to do more research to double check that kind of thing though but that's what I've gathered so far, most of the coins out there are meant to be just copy and paste jobs.
6932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you think alternative currencies are bad think about how bad paper money is on: July 31, 2013, 05:07:13 AM

6933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If you think alternative currencies are bad think about how bad paper money is on: July 31, 2013, 05:00:34 AM
I noticed there is a lot of hate sometimes towards the clone coins and alt. coins that are coming out in droves but personally I think it's fantastic because I love seeing some real currency competition finally though I understand where the hate is coming from. It will only strengthen BTC in the long run if it's good enough and you guys should probably think about the cryptocurrencies and paper for a moment. If something like Litecoin is still worth more than the USD, what does that say about how shitty inflationary paper money is? It shows you just how much governments are devaluing everything and how poorly thought out the system is, if paper money was so great, then it should be way too expensive and not worth it at all to transfer even Bitcoin to USD but that just simply isn't the case.

Says a lot about our financial institutions I think when a person can just copy and paste a well thought out currency and mess with it themselves with it still being worth more than a dollar lol at least the alt. currencies are competing in a free market and have to prove themselves to you.

What I'm saying is there are people who are still suspicious of Bitcoin after all of this so we should probably go out of our way to post some alt currency lists.
6936  Economy / Economics / Re: August is coming! Vote the price trend of BTC. on: July 31, 2013, 04:35:17 AM
The one thing that's certain here is government stupidity and central bank stupidity, they're still printing money like the imbeciles they are thinking it's fixing everything and we're currently at the phase now where everybody thinks the economy is going fine. It will take awhile but I actually think that Bitcoin will follow the same style as gold and just keep going up and up because now we've got a lot of people coming in so the price changes will be less volatile, someone selling a couple of thousand Bitcoins won't have the same impact it used to.

Most here are adults with healthy senses of humor, capable of laughing at or simply ignoring the occasional genuine troll.

For once I agree with you, I think what helps the Bitcoin forums so much is the fact that we have a functioning ignore function that way if you don't want to be forced to read someone else's posts, especially if they annoy you, they can be hidden, I find it difficult to believe anyone who thinks that any sort of block function needs to be removed has genuinely good intentions.
6938  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS - Frontier Space Manga, Cabochon Necklaces - 1 Necklace now in stock on: July 30, 2013, 04:56:44 PM
Good news guys, after experiencing some problems with a couple of tools and materials I got what I needed now and that means I should be able to make stuff as good as the Carnelian setting, I'm also going to be learning how to set a square/rectangle gemstone this week so that will mean I can increase the variety and designs of jewellery I make.

6940  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Entitlement Mentality on: July 30, 2013, 10:40:10 AM
This isn't a problem with entitlement, it's a problem with the economy and the people, if you want higher pay then you should get a different job, there's only so much you can pay a fast food worker, if you can't live comfortably on the amount you're being given, then that means it's either being inflated away and you don't have enough purchasing power or you need to adjust your lifestyle.

To me, this kind of thing screams inflation.
